After the Shadybug's and Claw Noire's redemptions (the two villains turned into Ladybug and Paw Noire), Emonette (with the support of Alya and Emodrien) will talk with Re-Verse Chloé about her latter's behavior and pranks. So Chloé will accept to apologize (at the unknownledge of Supreme's radars, spies).

And Marinette and Chloé become (girl/y?)friends.

Miraculous Reverse

Lore/fix/expansion/headcanon

Tackling that one out-of-place name drop and turning it from something boring and repetitive(in an otherwise really fun plotline!) into something more fitting. Like or hate her, having Chloé just be Marinette's bully in the reverse is just dull. It also goes against the overall theme of similar-but-different.

So, in trying to keep canon in mind, but twisting it up, I present to you:

Emonette's bully is actually reverse!Zoé- hear me out.

Reverse!Andre is an iron fisted tyrant. Reverse!Audrey is a harmless vapid party girl/trophy wife. Andre still very much abuses his power and Audrey is still very much a forgetful/neglectful mother.

Zoé is still the product of infidelity. It's not so much an estranged wife stepping out as a naive/foolish girl seduced by Mr. Lee. When André finds out too late, he is livid. Audrey goes 'to the country' until her 'health improves' and baby Zoé is tossed into the public welfare system.

Meanwhile back at home André is utterly embarrassed by the whole scandal. Chloé, already not something either parent was really interested in, is kept confined to the hotel and not spoken of. She becomes something glimpsed by guests out of the corner of the eye; there and gone. A rumor/urban legend starts about 'The ghost of LeGrand Paris.'

Back to Zoé- due to a social worker being careless with paperwork, and Zoé being an advanced reader for her age, she learns early on about her 'real' family. She is instantly angry as only a child can be. She should be rich! She should have power! She should have it all!

For the next several years she is a terror for foster families, orphanages, and homes for problem children. It gets to the point where she is returned to the Bourgeois(at least until Andre can fight the legal system again). Once she's there though, André doesn't know how to handle her. He's surrounded himself with sycophants for a decade. Someone who stands up to him with his own level of belligerence is alarming. He resorts to ignoring her/avoiding her and letting her do whatever provided it doesn't cause him more problems.

When Zoé meets Chloé(around 11-12 yrs of age or so), she sees someone with the life she was denied... So she takes it. She takes Chloé's name and enrolls herself in school. She claims to be the 'Ghost of Le Grand Paris', who was sickly growing up but is healthy now! She's out, proud, and taking everything she wants. This includes dominating the school, ruling as Queen, and taking out her personal anger on that easy-victim emonette.

I want to stress this is a *starting* point. This is a setup. This is where the narrative begins. Zoé is still in part wearing a mask, one she forged herself im childhood based on what she thought *should* be.

Chloé isn't some perfect angel. She's a recluse, unsocialized, isolated. (Think Mary Lennox from the Secret Garden) and libel to be a touch cross if her very tiny world is upset.

This whole thing is meant to blossom out, be discovered, and provide for some great narrative hooks.

Instead of just boring 'Chloé bad.'

Oh, you're unleashing a beast. I don't know how to shut up about it, I'll try to keep it to the point without senseless yapping akjdkac

- I call it my "Accidentally Swapped AU", basically Marinette and Adrien were supposed to get their original miraculous but Master Fu accidentally gave them the wrong boxes

- The love square isn't reversed, Marinette is in love with Adrien, and Mr. Bug is in love with Lady Noire. (Though neither is taken to the extreme the show takes it, they are just regular kids with crushes) Not are their personalities, I've never understood why in so many swap AU's they change their personalities (No shade!! It just was never my vibe) Mr. Bug behaves like Chat did at first, he sees it as freedom, though in my AU with time he tones down quite a bit. (I actually did write a lil fic that shows their dynamic a bit, I'll upload it at some point on AO3)

- Lady Noire overall just isn't having a good time to be honest, I'm making public opinion be a bit harsher, people are easily influenced by fear and destruction can be pretty scary (It gets better though, but I just really like angst)

- Season 4-5 Chloé doesn't exist because what the hell was that

- Lila is a menace, but not because everyone drops their IQ when she's around (I refuse to make Mari's friends believe Lila so easily like in the show)

- My AU is more focused on Marinette because she's just my favourite, considering how goated she is in the show I wanted there to be an actual reason for it so I absolutely just bs'd up an explanation and made up a thing called a "True Holder", which is what Marinette is. It's why she didn't just cease into dust when using so many miraculous at the same time, and why she doesn't perish (although there are serious consequences) when unifying Plagg and Tikki. Other holders can still unify but not everyone, and for a very limited amount of time, I didn't like how they established that unifying was this big deal then everyone could casually do it so I wanted to change that

There's so much more but I fear I'm going into yap territory rn, I'll answer any question about it though! Well to the best of my ability, I don't have this written down anywhere

Huh, I expected to get my drawing of Teen Zoé done for the redesigns first. Oh well... Only Kwami-swaps of the Lifeswap AU!

Meet Amaranth and Cerastes!

For no reason at all I decided to give Swap-Zoé long hair and Swap-Chloé shorter hair. Which is the exact opposite of my normal redesigns for them.

André won the custody battle for Zoé, and put his best foot forward into raising her and Chloé. Zoé is similar to how she is in cannon, late season 5. But she still learned how to mirror people, convincing them to lower their guard around her. She is a politicians daughter after all, and having people on your side is most important when convincing people to follow you. Zoé ultimately wants to do good for Paris, and is good friends with Ivan and the other members of Kitty section due to their activist mindsets.

Zoé's biggest fear is the secret of her being not André's biological daughter coming to light. He told her when she was 13 because he worried her biological father might try and regain custody in order to extort André for money. He made it clear in no uncertain terms that she is Zoé Bourgeois, the youngest of the family, Chloé's sister, and his daughter.

While she is happy André won't give her up for anything, she finds a new resentment for Audrey. And lives in fear this will harm her father's reputation, change how her relationship with her sister works, and effect how her friends see her, should it ever come to light.

Chloé's know for years that Zoé was the result of Audrey's cheating, she knew that one of the contentions during the divorce was that Audrey was barely in Paris the entire first 2 years of Chloé's life. The math didn't math, so she pieced together the truth. This only added fuel to her burning hatred for Audrey, Zoé is her little sister.

As Amaranth, Zoé makes her voice Heard! There is no stopping her once she's set her mind to it. I based her outfit on a womens power suit, and those asymmetrically colored biker jackets.

Juleka meanwhile, grew up with Anarka. She remembered her brother from when they were little, and is a tad horrified at who he's grown up to be. With Luka gone, Juleka lost her spark and her voice. She almost never talks, and doesn't stand up for anything. She just goes through the motions most days. Anarka tried to bring that light back to her daughters eyes, but every step forward has two steps back taken by Juleka's bullies. Being a quiet kid, who's mom can't keep a job, wears hand me downs, and whose dad ran off didn't leave much to be desired when it came to options of being harrassed.

Finally Anarka broke and asked Jagged to let the twins reunite. She hoped this might be a chance for Juleka to find herself again. And while Luka had changed too much from her caring and strong twin, she did find Zoé, Marinette, Adrien, and the members of Kitty Section.

Do you remember Juleka helping Zoé dye her hair in Sole Crusher? Well this time it happens in reverse. After getting comfortable with the group, she approaches Zoé about getting her hair colored. Naturally, Zoé's gotta help her girly out.

After Luka is deemed no longer suitable to be a miraculous holder, Ladybug and Chat Noir decide to give Juleka a chance. Cerastes isn't flashy, or confident. She's stealthy, sharp, and attentive.

Juleka's spent years just adapting to new situations and learning to read people for the sake of surviving, and it comes in handy when it comes to figuring out Akuma's.

Unshockingly, Luka isn't happy to see his miraculous used by someone else, though it does take a while to get there since Cerastes doesn't even get properly seen for ages. She's very good at disappearing.

Anarka is so relieved that Juleka finally found her people, that she's even willing to stay in Paris to keep her close to her friends. She still struggles to keep a normal job, but anything to see her little girl smile again.

So even though narrative wise for this Zoe backstory they want to introduce you can argue there's nothing much there because it was mentioned in her debut episode can I say that the problem will be more of the execution considering this show and how it handles victimhood they'll just be like she didn't know better and she changed when she changed cities so her mistreating people will just be a case of but it was to no one here and that's it.

Also knowing TA he's the kind of person to say this is the example of people who don't change and the fandom being the fandom would just straight up agree.

I'm sure you remember that infamous scene in Queen Wasp where Marinette is like "Chloé is exceptionally mean". One detail in that scene that a lot of people don't seem to have noticed is Jean-Something carrying Chloé's luggage. I bring it up, because it completely reframes Marinette's motivation. Marinette wasn't trying to get Audrey to like Chloé because she was misguided or stupid; she was actively banking on the idea that Audrey will take Chloé to New York and she'll be out of her and everyone else's lives forever. Unfortunately, the plan backfired and Audrey decided to stay in Paris instead. Oops. When I first watched that scene, I remember thinking "Huh. So Marinette doesn't particularly mind Chloé getting worse and bullying those kids in New York, because they're like, over there and shit." So, it doesn't at all surprise me that Zoé is subject to that same logic but in reverse. Characters in this show just do not care about anything not directly in front of them.

Death smells like roses. Pins and needles in her lungs, stabbing, poisoning her physical body as much as she poisons the emotions of the world around her. The ground of the hotel staircase is cold and in desperate need of a vacuum. Or in this case, several body bags. A girl in limbo, screams out, yet unheard, a sound that no one can physically hear. It’s like when trees fall in empty woods. No one is here to listen to the sound, nor is alive enough to hear it. Here they are useless to the world now. Limp bodies filled with purple perfumes of poison. However, far enough away, this deadly aroma smells like roses. Roses mixed with a metallic tone while rot waits its turn. Even if it is not the cause of death, blood still pools by her. But it is not her own blood. A fellow guest to the charity event was midway down the stairs when she inhaled the fatal fumes, before collapsing down the stairs and splitting her head on the cold and harsh ground. The princess has no need for these guests. To her, they would be such pitiful servants, unworthy to even worship her. Especially Chloé Bourgeois. The Queen is dead, all hail the Princess. However, death can be a joke in the face of a scélérat. Elsewhere outside, the heroes of Paris declare a “Miraculous”! After freeing the princess from the butterfly inside her, the small spirits of the bugs and felines fly and climb their way into this fatalistic hallway. The cats look down and enter into the lungs of the dead, and into their veins, pulling out the poison in their system. It was painless but they were still dead enough to not feel a thing, including Chloé Bourgeois. The ladybug spirits patiently wait for the cats to finish cleansing the bodies whose times haven’t truly come yet. And when they do, they switch in, returning the blood to their rightful veins, returning the oxygen to their lungs, reversing their visit into the afterlife. Chloé jolts awake, a gasp of stale hallway air entering her lungs, yet no longer feeling the pins and needles that scratched her throat in the seconds she felt before. Did she know she died today? Did she know she was like a zombie came back to life? It doesn’t seem like she does, lessons don’t tend to stick to her. After all; this scélérat’s driving emotions was her fault, still. This resuscitation was not be the first for the people of Paris, and it will not be the last either. The heroes at least quickly learned not to take this part of their recovery process for granted. But that doesn’t mean the citizens won’t. Even if she died, Chloé did not learn a thing today. What will it take for her to learn, then?

Marinette stans every time Marinette has a breakdown, acts inconsiderate, selfish, and all together let's all her emotions loose on whoever and whatever is in front of her because something set of a reaction in her:

oh my GOD, salters can't let this poor girl ever act her age! She NEVER gets to do this! This is the rarest exception in the whole show! Marinette always has to swallow down her emotions, never gets to feel them freely, she's practically a hollow shell of herself! That's the only reason why she hasn't been akumatized yet, because she's such a strong and resilient Queen 👑

... when has Marinette Dupain-Cheng ever held back on her emotions? For even a nano second? Each and every episode Marinette is screaming, raging, crying, panicking and whatever else on full max, what show are you talking about? Her not having been akumatized yet is mostly due to her plot armor. Gabriel letting it go in "Ladybug", Cat Noir kissing her anyway in "Elation". "Chameleon" is an actual case of her showing resilience to not be akumatized, but "Derision" now has her only be able to resist because she found out she's actually totally blameless for the emotional turmoil that almost caused her akumatization.

If Marinette wasn't akumatized in season 4 then that's no thanks to her personal effort. She was never written to keep her emotions in check, she's ALWAYS acting her age (and sometimes not even that), she just has plot armor because the show can't have her be almost akumatized every episode the way it frankly should due to her characterization. It actually would be a nice change of pace if Marinette were to finally stop letting all her emotions loose all the time, instead of the show forbidding Adrien in both Adrien from having even the slightest inconvenient one.

What people are claiming MARINETTE is going through is actually happening to ADRIEN.

Marinette has to always be the biggest victim. Anything another character has suffered, Marinette has to also have suffered. There’s a reason why Maripologists sometimes call Chloé bullying of Marinette “abuse”. It’s to direct attention away from Adrien’s status to Marinette. So of course Marinette is always forced to be strong and always holding back her emotions and being the stoic and unflappable leader.

Although that might also be people projecting typical traits of this type of superhero character onto Marinette. The team leader is usually the one holding back the most, because they want to be there for the rest of the team to lean on. This is the role Leonardo plays in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003) and the TMNT film and this is the most common characterization for Cyclops from X-Men. Even She-Ra in She-Ra and the Princesses of Power shows this trait. But, in Miraculous, it’s the reverse; the rest of the team has to always be ready for Marinette to lean on.

Although, I guess, from a certain point of view, the Maripologists have half of a point. Marinette is holding back. Her internal doom spirals are always so much worse than what she actually ends up externalizing. So, Maripologists are correct that Marinette is holding back from running away from home and fleeing the country every time she is mildly inconvenienced. What a champ!

AU Chloé Bourgeois from @princess-of-the-corner

I've been trying out new drawing tools, since I finally gave up on the random bare-bones program I downloaded back in high school, and a coworker recommended procreate. To familiarize myself with it, I decided to draw some of Cornerverse's alternate universe Chloes! Here are the drawings, with the AU explanations under the cut:

Honeybee (Hero Chat) and Lady Luck:

These are Corner's two main AUs. Hero Chat has the heroes set up a group chat back in season 3 to avoid miscommunications, and canon divergence ensues from there. Chloe and Kagami have both pulled a Catwalker there, but everybody does get a design update (I yoinked the pose, since this was the first one I drew and I didn't want to think too hard).

Lady Luck is a pretty standard fare Kwami Swap AU where Chloe gets the Ladybug, and most other characters' miraculous are also shuffled around, since Chloe is doing the picking. Corner's designs here!

Forged AU

After the events of Miracle Queen, Chloe gets a kwami from a different Miracle Box--Miirzan, the bear Kwami of Fire---and makes protecting the exposed heroes her personal mission, since nobody did it for her.

Chloe takes an interesting route for her hero costume in this AU. The first time she went out, she was actually just trying to use the glamour to not get recognized as a civilian, which meant she went with understated clothing that was functionally a palette swap of what she was wearing that day (pictured on the left). While she continues with this trend in the story, I also wanted to give her a proper hero costume, perhaps after she gains some more stability, so I made one myself ;) (pictured on the right).

Double Trouble

After Miracle Queen, Chloe and Ladybug talk and realize taking away an exposed heroe's only means of protection and benching them won't actually keep them safe. Instead, Ladybug permanently hands out the Miraculous, but shuffles them around so it looks like they picked a completely new team. At the same time, Chloe starts working as a double agent against MothBalls and Mayura (who think she's a double agent for them), and gets paired up with Lila. Some Sonic Adventure 2 fandub jokes go a long way to easing that particular relationship, and the future gets a whole lot brighter.

While the whole AU was built on Sonic fandub jokes, Chloe doesn't ACTUALLY say the "I HAVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT" line. That honor goes to Alya in Hero Chat. But, I figured it was fitting just for the drawing. I ever so slightly adjusted Corner's horse!Chloe design to be an even more explicit Nightmare Moon reference.

Bee, Wasp, and Hornet:

In an effort to explain the massive personality retcons between season 1-3 Chloe, and season 4-5 Chloe, a theory was proposed that 4-5 Chloe (Joé/Hornet) is actually a sentimonster created by Hawkmoth and 1-3 Chloe (Bee) is somewhere else entirely. She comes back sometime in the middle of season 5 and is pissed as all hell about her replacement, but Zoe (Wasp) considers both of them her sisters and is determined to make things work.

While this AU is sometimes combined with Corner's Isekai!Chloe AU, sometimes she's just yeeted someplace out of the way so she can't be involved in the plot for a bit. Personally, I like the idea that she ended up camped out in the ReVerse and was only able to return after the Paris Special.

(I did lightly redesign Zoe here, just to cater more to how I picture her in my head. Joé's design is just canon!Chloe, but I got to put AU Chloe in whatever the hell I wanted, so I went whole hog on my thing about putting her in blue and giving her the curly hair Corner and I both headcanon as her natural hair texture).

Princess Bee:

After the Season 5 finale, the dust didn't quite settle as it did in canon. Chloe, now with hard evidence that neither of her parents cared about her, worked her butt off to get into law school with no assistance from them and cut ties completely, down to changing her last name. While there, she befriended the world's most generic dude John Doe, who later married the world's most generic chick Jane Doe and they settled down on a horse farm in Kansas. After some therapy, Chloe decided she wanted a kid, but in vitro would be too much of a hassle, and John agreed to help her out. This is the family photo.

Back in Paris, things got. Complicated. During the final fight, LB and CN ended out having to make a Wish to defeat Hawkmoth. The price was that neither Ladybug nor her allies were able to use the Miraculous ever again.

This meant that when Lila started her grand vengeance plan using the butterfly, she got straight up ghosted. So instead, she just hung on to the butterfly for ~20 years doing low scale cons (and becoming friends with Chester Fester, the best character ever), aimlessly drifting as she grapples with her undiagnosed clinical depression.

Zoe, after witnessing how Andre was willing to up and replace his bio daughter when a shinier new replacement showed up, decided she wanted no part of it and called her dad to help her sort things out. She basically ended out living alone in an apartment in France sponsored by Mr. Lee with him as her legal guardian on paperwork, and more or less avoided talking about the whole situation with the rest of the Miraculous Gang.

Somewhere around the 20 year mark, after everyone has grown up, had kids, and moved on with their lives, everything goes to shit. Andre, who hasn't updated his will in all that time, finally kicks the bucket, and Chloe is dragged kicking and screaming back to Paris (with her daughter Dawn in tow) to deal with the defunct hotel she just inherited.

At the same time, the Adrienette kids finally find the Miraculous stowed in their house, and decide to take them out for a joyride in a burst of teenage stupidity. They immediately end up on the news and Lila comes out of the woodwork to address some unresolved grudges. With the original Miraculous Team incapable of using their powers, and with no other options readily available, the next gen kids are now unfortunately Holders who have to stop her.

Oh, and of course Dawn miraculously (heh) ends up going to the same school as Adrienette's kids and she and Emma are gay as fuck for each other. Their parents are unaware of the connection to their past for a comedically long period of time.

Basically, the next gen kids are in a Magical Girl Anime, Chloe is unwillingly playing Homescapes with the hotel, and the OG Miracuclass are watching the mistakes of their past come back to haunt them :).
