event update: meadow creek

Meadow Creek.  It’s a small town, centered around a Bartell’s, a small diner, a police station, a post office, the Baptist church, and a school, all on the same street.  It’s the kind of town where everyone knows everyone else, and secrets don’t exist.  Leading up to the disappearances, the majority of the town was highly religious.  Almost every single child had been baptised, and the church was filled to the brim every weekend for services.  They all thought they’d be raptured when the time came.  They all believed.

When only about half of the town disappeared, the remaining citizens didn’t take it well.  They were good, righteous people, who should’ve been taken.  They flooded the church, screaming about the lies that must’ve been told, pushing and shoving as a veritable mob formed.  Chaos reigned.  The police tried to keep order, but it’s hard to do that when you only had four officers on staff to begin with, and two vanished with the rest.  

Now, Meadow Creek thrums with tension, everyone eyeing each other, looking for reasons they were left behind.  Neighbor turns on neighbor, friend turns on friend.  No one goes to church for the services anymore.  Instead, the church has been reserved for screaming matches, mobs, and confrontations.  The town has fallen apart at the seams, and this is what’s left.
