Retrogrades🕰 (Briefly explanation)

Disclaimer: I don't own any of these gifs.

Let's talk about it; I receive many asks about retrogrades of different kinds (asteroids, planets...). This is for you to understand this energy when you try to read your chart or placements.

Whenever we see (r) in a natal chart, we know we have encountered a retrograde. Also, the famous Mercury retrograde gives clues about its core meaning.

Now, being born with a retrograde is different from a transit. In transit, the retrograde brings different challenges and some obstacles, and delays to pass for a certain amount of time. In a natal chart, the native is born with it. This means they are always on retrograde challenges and delays.

Retrograde (natal): delays, challenges, obstacles, later on.., difficulty, time to revise the energy, slow learning.

Retrograde (transit any planet): delay in something, a review of a lesson, slow energy, challenges, or misunderstands for a certain period of time. It isn't permanent.

People with natal retrogrades feel really great during a retrograde, so don't be scared. For example, when an astrologer mentions "Saturn is retrograde from___ to ___". This is the time for natal (r) Saturn to breathe without pressure. Many lessons would fall into places like an "aha moment" for the native. To sum up, it's the time when the native can see their issue without their constant blockages.

Note 2:

The retrograde energy applies to the sign's traits and the house, both equally. It's present in the where and how.

For example, Saturn in Aries in the 6th house (R), will have constant delays and lessons to learn through daily life or health. They will have problems with setting their boundaries within their own routines (6th house), and putting their assertiveness into action (Aries). So, these will be hard lessons to take. However, the moment they decide to take Aries's good traits into their life things will be better. These traits are assertiveness, active nature, positivism, and others in creating a healthy routine for them. They will start "paying" their past karma.

Most of the days this week I’ve felt really down and a big range of the “negative” emotions. Most of those feelings were in relation to my job. I sat with those feelings for days trying to get to the root cause of it, rolling back the layers over and over again. Finally, I recognized that i was seeking external validation. Ultimately, I need to work on feeling validated on my own, knowing I’m enough, my work is enough, I am doing a good job. That’s something I’m really, really bad at. Imma try though.

Like today, I did me, focused on me, and I think it was recognized and received well. Whereas the last few days, when I was seeking external validation, I don’t think I was received well. But I was acting out behaviors that were not sitting well with my soul anymore, they didn’t align with me anymore. So of course it didn’t feel good to me and gave me all of those negative feelings.

I am still sitting here replaying the events of today over and over and picking apart areas where I could’ve done better. Is it my anxiety? Or a moment of growth? Don’t get me wrong here, I didn’t “do” anything bad other than exist but I’m a hardcore perfectionist with OCD and a childhood message that my therapist CLOCKED (“dont exist”)

Anyways, there’s a peak into my brain. Idk how to end this.

Mercury may no longer be going backwards, but we’re still in the post-shadow period, where things are getting back up to speed again. We’ll now be revisiting all topics since late July with a bit more knowledge, thanks to the reflection we just experienced.

Venus Trine Uranus

Venus in Virgo is in a trine with Uranus in Taurus. An exciting, creative person or project could show up or suddenly come to light. Expect a few plot twists in the love category or maybe some extra funds show up at this time. Surprises are in store in some war so try to go with the flow.

Moon Conjunct Jupiter

With the Moon and Jupiter hanging out in Gemini together it’s a great time to take up new feel-good opportunities. Show up for yourself with confidence and optimism to reap the rewards. This energy brings in a general feel of happiness or contentment. Emotional and spiritual growth is likely.

Moon Conjunct Mars

The Moon moves on to connect with Mars in Gemini as well. Make decisions with courage and bravery. And you may have to make them quickly. You’re feeling more respected and your leadership skills are on point. Take action on your desires and fight for what your heart truly cares about.

Mercury Retrograde: Winter 2023 / 2024

Mercury retrograde pre-shadow began on Nov. 25th, with Mercury still in Sagittarius until Dec. 1st.

It's suggested to avoid sending items in the mail as they're far more likely to get lost. Not always something we can do, when Mercury does this during the holidays, of course.

Other than that, try not to buy too much into the hype of Mercury retrograde messing everything up emotionally. We create more miscommunications through fear, than Mercury can ever do to us.

We can't always change circumstances, yet we can often find ways to deal with them easier by sheer force of will, and a regular practice of introspection / meditation.

Don't allow Venus to spin you into over-dramatization, as she's in one of her home signs of Libra, until Dec. 4th, when she enters Scorpio. Scorpio Venus is, well let's not mince words; gothy. Mercury retrograde is *not* specifically about romance.

Mercury retrograde post-shadow period ends Feb. 7th in Capricorn, and I'm waiting until after that to mail something across the country.

I will not be making any Mercury retrograde memes anymore, as that is an area of Astrology which is covered highly (sometimes too often) by others.

My focus on social media is, and always will be, Astrology affirmations.

Monday, March 18th 2024 Sun in Pisces ♓️🌊 Moon in Cancer ♋️🌊

Today, the Moon is hanging out in the sign of Cancer which has us in our feels but also nurturing and protecting the ones we love.

We kick off the day with the Moon in a nice trine with Saturn in Pisces which helps add discipline and structure, allowing for emotional strength that will help get us through any relationship challenges that are present. She will also sextile Jupiter in Taurus adding some optimism and making it easier to work with our feelings. This joyful energy encourages friendship, understanding and cooperation.

After her conversations with Jupiter she will also trine Uranus in Taurus bringing change into our environment.

The bigger news of the day is that Luna is in a square with Mercury in Aries. Mercury is now in the pre retrograde shadow phase. This square can bring disagreements and general moodiness. This is not a good time to get preachy and tell others how to act. Whatever is going on for you in the Aries area of your life will be the topic of focus for this upcoming retrograde period and possibly the reason for the arguments but understand that retrogrades force us to revisit topics that require reassessment or reworking (say that five times real fast). reflections/rant on making content (tw: negative)

on monday i fell really sick to the point that i had no energy to do anything but sleep.. this, accompanied by the fact that my content hasn’t been doing very well recently, either because the quality is not there/i’m not improving, made me private my blog for a few days just to rest and think about whether i really want to make content. does it really make me happy? or am i just creating content for the numbers/reblogs? if i continue like this, i would lose the spark that i had when i started this blog for hanbin.

sometimes i also wondered, if i didn’t use the hashtags that different users track, would people still be interested in what i posted? do they feel obliged to reblog just because i used their tag? and is it worth it to put in so much effort just for my posts to flop..? they take time to make and it’s tiring not seeing results.

in the end, i decided that i’m going to make things that i enjoy, whether or not my posts get notes, so that at least i enjoy the process of creating. as long as there’s even 1 person that likes what i post, i will continue to run this blog. i know nobody cares, feel free to ignore this but i’ll leave this post up to keep myself accountable.
