as for why SC doesn't know about their powers:

...you can't exactly fault the animator for not really thinking to tell SC their full name; I mean, it's pretty easy to assume they already know it, right? After all, he certainly didn't name SC.

Probably never really even thought about the fact that SC doesn't even know about the Chosen One.

She turned 21 on March 1st, 2024 🥳 That was only two days ago as of me writing this post, so yes she is definitely still around.

Just as an FYI to you and anyone else who didn't know, you actually can turn on timestamps for posts. On desktop, you go to "⚙️ Settings" and then "Dashboard," and the toggle will be in the first section called "Interface."

I'm not sure iOS precisely, but on Android mobile you go to your own blog, tap the gear icon, then "Account settings," then "Dashboard preferences," and then you can scroll down to find the timestamp toggle.

One thing that I will say about me potentially bringing beej back (she says as she fills her drafts with posts about him) is the dynamic has to shift DRASTICALLY for it to work with the way I am now vs the way I was when I was obsessed with him

I was drawn to him because I had a desperate need to BE needed and his pathetic clinginess fit the bill, among other things like relating to his mother issues 😂 but im a healthier person now overall! And tbh I've never been happier in my life, with my partner, with everything 💖💖 I think in order for it to work he ALSO needs to improve and strive to be better and happier and idk...maybe that's beautiful!

I'm thinking maybe it's more of a slow burn because he really needs to learn how to be a FRIEND first before he can be in a healthy romantic relationship. So I'm imagining after he's had some time to reflect on his mistakes from the musical he ends up in me and my partner's house and we just...hang! We play games and watch movies and fuck around and he has a silly rivalry with my partner and he's given the opportunity to just BE happier and eventually down the line it just becomes something a little more ☺️

[It's not that Joey made the decision to run out the door and toward certain danger alone; it wasn't a decision to begin with. It wasn't the frustration of sitting and waiting and waiting and sitting. It wasn't even Kaiba trying to take digs at him while off on his and Yugi's mission.

It's that he was given a clear and tangible goal.

Paradias.

That's where the mastermind of this whole soul-stealing, "god" summoning debacle was waiting.

That's where Yugi was waiting.

And it was even right in the same city!

And so, Joey ran.

Right into Tristan and Téa, funny enough. They weren't enough to stop him. Yugi and Rex were counting on him. If he stopped this whole thing, they couldn't hurt or use Mai anymore, either. He ran and ran, chasing after this clear and perfect solution that was right physically there for the taking. Tristan followed, but Joey couldn't even slow down enough to explain. They're right there.

The absolutely gargantuan Actual Fucking Monster, though? Yeah that stops Joey in his tracks.

Long enough for Tristan to catch up and yell for him to get away. He even manages to pull Joey back a little ways. They see someone out with them, some guy who just doesn't know what's happening yet. They try to yell for him to go the other way, but he just rides past on his motorbike. No good, Joey can't stand by and watch someone get hurt like that. Thankfully, this poor American manages to come to a stop before he hit the monster, even if he fell off his bike. And leaves it.

And that's just enough of a distraction to get Joey back on track. Mai needs him. Yugi is counting on him, and he's right. There!

It's not a decision. It's barely a conscious thought. It's emotion, pure and raw, that drives Joey to charge forward and throw a fist at this angry beast. And somehow?

Somehow it works.

Except it wasn't him.

It was a bit silly, to think he could just punch a monster to death, let alone with a single hit.

The guy behind the monster, DuelDisk at the ready and cards drawn, yeah he actually defeated it.

Valon.

Of Doma. Paradias. Dartz.

The guy that ended the duel between him and Mai and took her away.

Valon says to follow, before turning and driving off on his own motorcycle.

So Joey eyes up the abandoned motorbike in the street, before wrenching it back up and giving chase. Oh this is not the same as the bike game at the arcade, but... surprisingly, a lot still matches up. Enough still matches up.

So he follows, even as Tristan yells for him to get back there.]

Dunno when/if I'll be back. I girlbossed too hard at work and now have Responsibilities. Will just be working thru my queue of requests when I get the chance, but probably nothing new beyond some silly doodles here and there.
