Hi! I saw that your requests are open? I apologize if this request is a bit too uncomfortable for you.

I would like to request some preferably headcanons of SCP-073 and SCP-076-2 when they find out they have feelings for a (preferably male please, there's too many females out there already ;-;, no offense for the women out there) Researcher? Like how do they deal with it, how long it takes for them to confess, etc?

I am desperate for some SCP-073 x Male!Reader, and SCP-076-2 x Male!Reader cause there's too many Female/Gender-Neutral (but still has female traits for some reason) reader ;-;

AN: Hello! Sorry this took awhile... I honestly kept rewriting this because I wasn't sure how to make this feel like it was written for a man, and not just something vague for everyone.

I added a few headcanons for how they'd treat a male lover over a female, So i hope this is okay for you.

SCP-073 (Cain)

⁠You both probably ment pretty casually. Maybe during lunch or just passing by in the hallways.

Cain didn't think much of you at first honestly.

Until he was passing by your office and heard you arguing with another researcher about the ethics of using him as an live information vault.

He stopped for a moment and lingered outside of your office, listening to you rant about how it wasn't fair to him.

He was honestly shocked, in a good way.

Cain was used to people being... Decent to him, sure.

But to have someone so passionately argue his happiness?

Unheard of.

Cain is quick to fall for you after that, and boy does he fall hard.

he deals with these new feelings by following his heart blindly.

Often hanging around you and lending hands wherever he can.

When he works up the courage his confession is sickly sweet, filled with stutters and nervous chuckles.

I also feel like he's the type of guy to write a confession poem.

He's just whipped like that.

If you accept, (which honestly, who would reject him?) He'll be overjoyed!

Man or not, Cain takes the lead in the relationship for the most part.

Throwing an arm around your shoulders, holding doors for you, giving you flowers (plastic, of course)

though, I do think he treats a male lover slightly different then a female.

He's slightly less watchful over you, less protective in general.

It's not that he cares less, just that he's less worried about you.

Also, for some reason I feel like he'd play wrestle with a male lover a lot.

Expect to be put in a gentle/playful headlock.

At the end of the day, Cain is still the sweet golden retriever boy he is.

That definitely doesn't change at all.

SCP-076-2 (Able)

He ment you during one of his rampages, when you got separated from the task force that was escorting you to safety.

Left alone with nothing but a small pistol to defend yourself with.

He quickly gained a large portion of respect for you when you held your ground against him despite being just a researcher.

Not once did you look cowardly or frightened, clutching your guns with a rather good poster and stance, despite your minimal combat training.

Truly a respectable sight to behold.

And Able knows a warrior when he sees one.

In fact, you were so ferocious that he paused his pursuit for just a moment to study you.

A moment long enough for you to shove your gun to his chin and blow his brains out.

I would say that's when the first few sparks flew for him.

After that, every other rampage was spent looking for you, and ending with you putting a bullet through his head.

I don't think he's all that in tune with his feelings, so he definitely doesn't get that what he's feeling is attraction, and not just respect/interest

He's got a thick skull, it takes him awhile...

But when he does realize. he's confused, and a little unsure of himself.

He's really never felt this way about a man before.

He's never felt this way about anyone before.

He's felt pretty much nothing but anger and desire for vengeance for such a long time, that this new feeling is as overwhelming as it is relieving.

I imagine he holes himself up within SCP-076-1 for a few days he learns to deal with these new feelings.

Of course you're the one sent in to confront him about his sudden strange behavior.

Since he's somewhat more docile around you.

This is when he takes his opportunity to confess to you.

Don't expect anything heartfelt or romantic, it's more of a spur-of-the-moment decision then anything.

And don't expect any hints beforehand.

He doesn't get a whole lot of privacy, so he thought it'd be a good spot to do so.

You'd probably be pretty confused i'd imagine, considering you thought he had some sort of bloodlust for you.

Turns out it was a different kind of lust

but we're gonna assume you don't reject his sudden confession, and choose to start a relationship with him.

Contrary to Cain, you're going to have to take the lead with this relationship.

I just can't imagine him being a very confident lover.

Confident in battle yes, but in the art of love? Nah, it's just not happening.

I don't think he'd treat a male lover any differently than a female lover.

I just don't think he's aware of typical relationship "gender norms" like that.

He's just as likely to follow you around frothing at the mouth whenever someone gets to close for his liking as he is a woman.

He's very jealous...

But overall, his dreams for you and him stay the same regardless of gender.

To live somewhere remote where it's just you, him, and his herd of sheep.

Notes:

071. In respectful language, it’s common to take the stem of the verb and attach the prefix お to create a polite noun, and then either use it as-is, as here, or turn it back into a verb with をする. While 見える is the potential form of 見る (to be able to see; to be visible), it’s used in 尊敬語 (sonkeigo, honorific language) to mean “to come,” and the phrase お見えになる means “to arrive.” Thus, “Yamaguchi-sama has arrived” or “Yamaguchi-sama is here to see you.”

074. This one gave me a bit of trouble at first, but after looking up 左様 in a monolingual dictionary, I learned that it’s really just a more formal way of saying そのとおり, so さようでございます would basically be そうです, “That’s so.”

076. The が at the end of this just serves to soften the request, a bit like prefacing your request with “Excuse me” in English (though in Japanese, too, you can preface it with すみません), or maybe ending with “please.”

078. This uses the “secretly; stealthily” sense of そっと, but it still works as “quietly” as the two are linked conceptually. Also, おく as an auxiliary often means “to do [verb] in advance,” but it also can mean “to leave/keep something in a certain state,” as it does here. You put away the feeling inside your heart and leave it there, unexpressed to anyone else.

OKAY OKAY OKAY!!!! 076 and 073 are built off of the mythos of abel & cain respectively but with the idea that both are immortal beings, one of whom wants to live peacefully (cain) and the other of whom wants to Fucking Kill Him (abel).

theres a couple changes between them both (cain being partially cybernetic & abel being covered with red markings, for example) but the core idea is the same. a lot of their general storyline hinges on the fact abel wants revenge on cain for killing him, while cain wants to move on and is attempting to find peace in hyr actions. they dont have too much lore iirc, its generally just "abel wants cain dead and will stop st literally nothing to achieve this, while cain is just fucking around and being Some Guy".

abel is working with a task force (iirc its mtf omega-7? or something?) as consequence for being a chaos starting bastard, as it allows him to basically kill and be a little bit violent, as a treat. cain is allowed to free roam so hes just kind of There.

uhh abel is registered as keter, which is FASCINATING. hy's basically unkillable, being able to recover almost immediately from most damage to the point he was trapped inside of a big ass fucking box so the foundation didnt have to worry about him straight up putting a whole through the wall of his containment cell and just going on a rampage. cain is safe so, again, he just gets to free roam and dick around.

i find abel soo so so fascinating narrative wise just because hes just. so violent. in the original mythos she's portrayed as a gentle person, so the sudden shift from that to outrageous violence post-death is so inch resting to me .:3. anyway i just think they are soo so so inch resting ok u do not even Understand how fascinating these freaks are to me.

SCP 073 (Cain)

I think Cain is that sort of guy who would be somewhat sus when it comes to you being pregnant

Like he's pretty intelligent and has witnessed some symptoms and heard pregnancy stories from the site he resides in

He's probably as cared for them too, for example, telling them to rest and bringing them some food that's available in the canteen

I'd say Cain already has adopted some fatherly aspect already since he would've been one of the oldest SCPs and has helped younger recruits (and he's Abel older brother but we aren't gonna talk about that)

If you haven't told him already, or you didn't know yet since it was still too early, he would probably think that you might be pregnant based on your diet and attitude, but he wouldn't be too sure

If you did find out and told him, he would definitely be happy af and can't even wait to see his newborn child

However, if you knew but didn't tell him, he probs wouldn't pressure you by asking too much to begin with, but would after a while though

If you wanted an abortion, Cain would be devastated, but after some time talking and you still want an abortion, then he'd respect your choice (Cuz y'all are too damn young to start a family and y'all are broke af and aren't even out of school/college/uni)

Besides, you both visit 191 (Cyborg child) quite often and she sees you both as her parents anyway, so there's that

When you both do decide to keep the child, Cain would be the most attentive and overbearing partner to have ever imagined and wouldn't even let you lift up a finger

Sometimes he's even rubbing your belly and talk to the unborn baby

You're basically his queen and you're the only one who is allowed to boss him around (Except for when he's doing some test stuff, but even then, he kinda has the option to say 'no')

SCP 076-2 (Abel)

Unlike Cain, Abel do be thicc in the head

Like, he's so dense that he wouldn't know what to do when you're pregnant

Not to say that's he's extremely stupid because he's not

It's just that he doesn't know much about pregnancy

So you and some others would have to tell him about you being pregnant

And maybe even Cain (If he's not trying to kill Cain ofc)

He would be shocked and happy when you have announced your pregnancy

And I guess Abel would just be the definition of overbearing

Because he would be extremely protective about you, hostile around others unless it's your doctor visiting you, and wouldn't let you move an inch away from him without him being there

He's such an overprotective tsundere

SCP 999 (Tickle Monster)

Alright, so we can all agree that 999 is a sugar daddy

Cus he like really sugary things and he's now officially a dad to an unborn baby

So yeah, 999 is a sugar daddy

He probably doesn't know much about being pregnant, but he's quite attentive and sweet

Not overly overbearing, more so worried

Definitely, the type of dad to rub your belly and sing

Would definitely ask for some parenting books and advice so he'll be an amazing dad

And definitely not the type to raise his voice at the slightest when his kids are out

If you were craving savoury foods, he would run to the researchers and ask for some

Heck, he'd even try and eat some with you

If you were craving sweeter foods or a combination of both, he'd give you some of his and he'd still eat them with you

SCP 682 (Hard to Destroy Reptile)

682 is a little bit like Abel when it comes to you announcing your pregnancy

Like he barely knows much about being pregnant and what to do

He'd most likely notice a slight change in your scent when you're only a few weeks in but wouldn't really question it much

682 would be so confused about you being pregnant

Like how?

I'd say he seemed somewhat emotionless, to begin with, but then slowly enjoys the idea of fathering your child

But he wouldn't admit it of course

But if you wanted an abortion during the start, he'd be completely cool with it though

682 would be clueless on what to do with your cravings and mood swings, but he's good at warding off unwanted visitors and being overly protective

You'd probably have to hold him back from attacking the doctors when they're checking up on you though

He'd definitely let you pet him more often as he nuzzles against your belly (*Ahem* You sure you're pregnant and not just f- nvm)

SCP 035 (Possessive Mask)

The only reason why 035 would be slightly sus of you being pregnant would be because of your change in behaviour

Body language and personality can't lie, especially you since he knows you too well (And you suck at lying anyways)

He's also good at manipulating others and has amazing acting skills, so he'd know all about body language

If you didn't know, then 035 wouldn't ask since he's not entirely sure, unless you act more like being a pregnant woman then he would probably drop some hints like 049 and would likely ask you to take a test

I'd assume he would ask his good old friend, 094, to check your pregnancy before requesting for the Foundation doctors

Only because he trusts the bird doctor with necrophilia to examine you first

035 would be a little more protective than usual but he wouldn't be extremely overbearing since he allows you the option to express your emotions and desires

Like the others, he would rub your belly and talk to the unborn child

And he would tell it stories from his days and how he had met you

SCP 105 (Iris)

I imagine her as just like every other person but with a little bit more understanding bout having kids

She would often at times read pregnancy books and blogs, so no worries on her end

When you told her that you were pregnant she was filled with joy with a dash of anxiety

I feel like Iris would be similar to Cain since she gives of the protective older sister vibes

So she most likely would do everything for you and you don't even get a say in it

And since she also a female, she'd follow you into the toilets too, like an extremely overprotective Doberman

Definitely would massage you and read/sing to your swollen stomach (Again, are you sure you're pregnant?)

Iris would also take loads of random photos of you during your pregnancy and would plan to show those pictures to your future child

Would definitely spoil you rotten to the core

SCP 106 (Old Man)

This old man really do be an old man

Like, he's that type of grandad who would give his kids family advice (but he was a virgin til he met you)

Except that he never had an actual child, but he does have some understanding when it comes to children (Cuz he's a perv)

He probably doesn't really know what to do to help you when you're pregnant

But he could use his pocket dimension, so that's a plus

I'd assume that he would try his absolute best and reads some pregnancy guides

If you had cravings, he would steal some food for you

He would probably run away if you were having mood swings and would actually ask some researchers for help

This is a surprise but they found it quite entertaining anyways

106 would be protective but not as much as Abel or 682 since he knows that you have boundaries and he doesn't want his head chopped off

SCP 096 (Shy Guy)

This SCP right here is pretty dense when it comes to pregnancy

If you needed something, he would literally break out of his containment just to get it for you

Which is a shocker when it happened the first few times

He was shocked yet happy and cried when you announced your pregnancy

096 would literally be jumping up and down a lot and everyone else thought he was high

He wouldn't really know what he could do to help so he'll just sit there

Probably needs some Jesus cuz you were about to murder him and nobody has ever seen 096 so scared before

The researchers and medics would have to help poor 096 from getting killed by you and would direct him into the right path to fatherhood

It's even worse if you end up having a daughter because she'll probably inherit your wrath

Would be protective

I'd assume he's like an obedient large dog of some sort

Like if you told him to stop he would, even if he's mid-way killing someone

Dr Jack bright

Jack may seem hella goofy and dense, but he's actually a really intelligent and serious guy who cares about everyone around him

And he's rather observant too, so you can't exactly fool him by saying you're not pregnant (Even though you aren't cuz you're having a food baby)

He would notice the symptoms and all and would most likely know what to do with kids

Bright lives up to his name when it comes to you because you make his heart flutter and he'd do anything to keep you happy and safe

Even more so now that you're pregnant with his child

He would be protective since he's aware of each of the SCPs and he knows that he's needed in many of the facilities so he'd travel a lot

Whenever you cant follow him, he would make sure to assign someone who he can trust to help and protect you (yes, sometimes you have a Clef looking out for you, but he's chill and he has a kid so he would more often than not, give you some life advice)

Jack already decided that Clef would be the godfather of both your child and they can definitely play with 166 when they're a little older

Definitely gives you the best medic to help treat your pregnancy and would spoil you a lot

Dr Simon Glass

Although he doesn't directly work with the medics, he is well aware of you being pregnant

He would drop hints if you didn't know already and would even nurture you a little more than usual

Qween of the mother hens is Simon's middle name and would read some pregnancy books in his free time

Would 100% care for you and would lookout for signs of discomfort

Don't even hide your pain away from him because he'd definitely know and wouldn't be impressed that you're hiding it

Glass is a psychologist after all and knows about boundaries, so although he's protective, he would let you have some space if you need

One time you almost tore off his head because he was being slightly too overbearing and you just wanted some peace and quiet

Glass would definitely check up on you in between sessions and you would bring some food to eat with him

Would massage you even though you didn't ask for it and would even praise you for being this far into the pregnancy

Sometimes, he'd ask a couple of his friends to look after you, like Kondraki and Light

He'd avoid Bright and Clef unless necessary

There are times when you have some SCPs visiting you, like Cain, Iris, 999 and 131

Has decided that Diogenes would be the godmother/father of your child

Dr Alto Clef

Clef would act stupid and wouldn't say a thing if he notices you being pregnant

Unless it's been a few months then he would get slightly worried and be more straightforward

If you did announce your pregnancy, he'd be hella happy and would surprise 166 that she's going to have a younger sibling

166 is rather happy which is good since she gets along with you anyways

Although he's a good liar, you're the only other person, besides 166, he's completely honest with

Clef would be quite supportive of you and would even scare off anyone who comes a little too close to you

If he has to leave your side then he would let Bright lookout for you since he's a goofy mess anyways

Or it'll be Kondraki, Glass or Light

Sometimes 166 would be over to talk to the unborn baby and help decorate the baby room

Would request taking him off missions or at least reduce it to fewer ones

Only because he wants to be by your side at all times

Dr Benjamin Kondraki

Kondraki would be one of the best dads

And more normal dads besides Glass

Would definitely tell you all the dad jokes and never runs out

He'd be taken aback when you told him you were pregnant

Definitely has prepared himself with a ton of baby books and how to parent guides

Would even ask his friends and colleagues about pregnancy and newborns

Like he can handle SCPs but not children

Most of the time he would just go to Glass for help and sometimes he'd be yeeted to Clef

Kondraki would reluctantly go to Clef, and yes, he does tease Kondraki but would give him some advice anyways since he already has a kid

Probably would make Glass the godfather and/or Light as the godmother

He would be protective like any others

Benjamin is the definition of overbearing, but that's fine because he'll back down whenever you point it out or try to chew off his brains for being so dense at times

I did Cimmerian, now it's time for Clef! Like before, the one on the left is my main interpretation and the one I use in mine and my friend's, @bluethepearldiver, AU Gods and Pawns. The one on the right is the @ask-dr-cimmerian version. I put a more detailed overview under the cut, feel free to skip the blog version if you don't want spoilers.

GaP/Main interpretation of Clef:

Species: Immortal human (in most of the versions of the AU)

Age: Unspecified, really fucking old

Gender/orientation: Doesn't use labels, but if I have to specify he's non-binary, on the acearo spectrum and mostly prefers men

Pronouns: Any, prefers he/they

Ethnicity/nationality: Middle eastern, comes from Eden

Job: Department Head of training and development, an O5 or field agent in some of the versions of the AU

Appearance: 5'7'' plus size man, though weight fluctuates during the story, as he forgets to eat during a lot of stress. Two eyes, right is green, left is blue and hazel. Has sharp teeth, covered in scars, the biggest one being the x shaped scar on his chest, later on, gets a snake-shaped scar carved into his right arm. Naturally black/dark brown hair that's greying, uses his reality-bending to make it blonde because he's too lazy to dye it. Always carries around a star-shaped pin.

Personality & health:

Outgoing, charming loudmouth

Lies quite a lot, likes to tell clearly exacerbated stories (people just got used to it)

Cheerful and easily excitable

A huge bastard, loves to tease his friends and coworkers

Not afraid to speak his mind when needed, can be quite abrasive

Avoids confrontation when it comes to personal matters

Doesn't get angry easily, but when he does he gets quiet and stern

Well, excuse him for a moment, he needs to scream into the void!

After taking an innitial while to think it over, he'll be at your side

The decision whether to keep the child or not is up to you but... he'll let you know of his opinion.

That opinion being that the foundation is a horrible place to raise a child, and the child would definitely be tested upon

That being said, if you do not keep the child, he sees it as a reasonable decision. He will kiss you softly and whisper "Maybe when the circumstances are better..."

If you try again later he will leave the decision fully up to you. He told you his opinion before. It's not that he doesn't want a child it's just... he doesn't trust himself, nor the foundation

If you keeep the child

He will definitely try to stop the foundation from taking the child, or you away. He won't get violent if they do tests, but he will do anything in his power to reflect anything they try to do to take the child or yourself.

He will be reluctant at first, plagued by his past mistakes. What if he hurts the child? What if Abel tries to kill the child out of revenge? (Abel wouldn't) What if you realize he's a bad father and leave him-

You will have to assure him all would be good. Both verbal affection and physical contact will do the job. Best thing to do is shush him with a kiss

He will be constantly asking to feel your belly, kissing it softly or lightly tracing circles.

One word: Yikes.

035 is by no means a friendly SCP, but that doesn’t mean he can’t be courteous.

He’s most likely never have been openly rude to you the first time he met you, so his increasingly pleasant attitude towards you would go unnoticed for a while.

Well, until 035 flat-out refused to be interviewed by anyone who wasn’t you.

You got sick one day? No more 035 storytimes for the Foundation staff (until you got better, anyway).

After taking note of 035′s change in behaviour, Foundation personnel would keep you on standby purely for 035.

He had too many secrets that would never see the light of day if they went untold.

035 would keep his love for you a secret for a very long time - perhaps a year or two with constant interaction throughout your relationship.

He’s already lost so much during his lifetime, and although he’d never formed an especially close bond with anyone, he dreads to imagine what would become of himself if he didn’t allow himself to with you.

Eventually, he’d talk himself into confessing to you.

Whether or not you accept his feelings is up to you.

But just know that, if you accept or reject, you’re never leaving him.

Confused about his feelings at first.

049 would take a while to deliberate on his feelings towards you, analysing the issue from every angle he can until he realises he likes you romantically.

Unlike 035, however, he will refrain from confessing his feelings to you, no matter how long you’ve known each other.

Really, he’s just trying to protect both you and himself.

If he allowed you into his heart and you passed away, he’d be scarred for life.

And immortal hearts don’t heal.

Conversely, if you provoked him and made him jealous, he can’t trust himself not to lash out and accidentally kill you.

He’s keeping your best interests at heart.

You wouldn’t benefit from having a lover who was being held captive.

You wouldn’t benefit from a lover who can’t hold you at night when you’re cuddled up in bed.

You wouldn’t benefit from a lover who can’t take care of you.

Don’t expect any sort of grand confession from this SCP - or any at all, for that matter.

The closest he’ll allow himself to be with you is simply looking out for you in a way that, although it breaks his heart, could be seen as nothing more than an act of platonic appreciation.

073

073 will constantly have you on his mind once he realises he actually holds romantic feelings towards you.

He’ll continue to treat you in the same way he does to all Foundation staff: pleasantly.

Although, he’d feel more inclined to not sound as robotic as he usually does when addressing Foundation personnel.

He knows how humans can feel uncomfortable when speaking to something that doesn’t sound as emotionally responsive as them.

073 would take a while to tell you how he feels since he has to consider all the factors that would come from the two of you entering a relationship.

Unlike more obsessive SCPs, 073 won’t just assume that the two of you will be together.

When he does confess, he’ll respect your decision no matter your response.

If you like him back, he’ll obviously be absolutely overjoyed.

However, if you’d prefer not to pursue a relationship with him, he’ll understand completely and treat you as respectfully as he always does.

However, the second you show romantic interest in anyone but him, he’ll go absolutely mad.

The next time you visit him will be your last.

He won’t let you leave, no matter how hard you struggle.

It will have been his dormant nature that lured you in to begin with.

You never would have believed he was emotionally capable of killing countless staff members just because they were seeing if you were all right.

076

Now, 076 is an extremely volatile SCP. This is no surprise.

However, what is a surprise is the fact that you’d managed to grab his attention in a way that forced him to deviate from his usual homicidal pattern.

Bearing this in mind, this should give you a good indicator of just how obsessed 076 becomes when he doesn’t feel the urge to tear you apart.

He’ll question why he doesn’t feel so angry but will soon discard any reasoning or logic he had.

All he’s focused on now is you.

SCP staff will use you for experiments with 076 since you seem to be the only one immune to his fiery rage.

On one such occasion of this routine testing, 076 will decide that this is the occasion where he refuses to let you go.

He’ll trap you within SCP 076-1, rendering you “dead” the second its door shuts behind you.

What he fails to understand, however, is that you’re human.

When you died inside 076-1, you died for real. You didn’t come back like him.

Even God pales at the carnage 076 caused when you didn’t wake up.

Like 049, analyses his feelings every way he can.

It’s not so much that he sees his feelings as an issue, it’s just that he’s never felt so vividly for a human before.

Wouldn’t take him too long to fall in love with you - perhaps a few months or so if you visited him frequently.

Has already figured out how he’s going to keep you to himself before he confesses.

He isn’t concerned with what is seen as “normal” or “unethical”, so when he confesses his feelings to you, he’s indifferent whether you accept him or not.

If you accept, then his job is made much easier. Keeping you dormant won’t be as difficult as it would be if you declined.

If you don’t accept, that doesn’t matter.

He’s already taken control of the entire wing of the facility, so there’s no way for you to get out without his say-so.

682

Similarly to 076, 682 becomes extremely possessive.

It wouldn’t take him long to realise his feelings based on the fact that, although he is very intelligent, he’s still an animal (kind of), and every animal is bred with the instinct of sensing when their mate is near.

And 682 believes you to be his mate.

When you’re around, his resentment for your species is dulled as he focusses solely on you

 Though he’d still jump at the chance to kill anyone who looked vaguely human, he makes an effort not to do so when you’re together.

He won’t confess to you as such.

The next time you enter his containment cell, you’re never getting out.

You’d be snatched up by 682 and held prisoner.

He’d fully expect you to be able to sense the bond he believes the two of you have, and whether you choose to acknowledge it or not, you’re not going anywhere.

sorry if this is annoying but how would you go about getting into scp? ive been interested for awhile but when i try to i get lost on where to start

its not annoying!! im flattered that you asked me tbh ^^

it depends on what you really want to focus on wrt scp because its a very wide range of content but split into a few options:

-if you want to focus on the individual anomalies themselves in a... fandom-y? way (im not sure how to phrase it):

theres some fairly popular scps (mostly from series 1) with a lot of content. off the top of my head the biggest ones are 049, 682, 173, 079, 035, 1233 sort of? 096 and 106. most characterization for these guys is fan based.

anomalous characters who are fairly popular and have like legitimate characterization include 105, 073 and 076, 166 (there’s a couple of rewrites of her article, since the original one is... gross. they’re listed as -166, -4166, and -0166 respectively and like. trigger warning for sexual assault especially on the first two), and 590 (his file is pretty damn ableist, but most people who write him don’t have the same brain rot as deposed author bright)

the little misters by doctor wondertainment are a series of connected scps who vary in popularity.

-if you want to focus on individual anomalies in a twilight zone “fucked up if true” way:

just scrolling through the mainlist is good, tbh. click on those eye catch titles!

there’s a fairly comprehensive tagging system if you want to see specific types of scps (cataloguing stuff such as type of anomaly, what it physically is, particular anomalous groups who made them etc)

tvtropes is good for getting more specific if youre willing to read through the list of tropes

-if you want to focus on anomalies made by specific groups of interest or characters from those groups

the groups of interest page explains who these all are. theres a pretty damn wide range of them so theres probably at least something youre interested in

goi formats (documents created by the groups themselves) are underutilized, but they exist!

i touched on it briefly before, but groups of interest also have tags you can filter

i don’t recall if there’s any more, but at least two canons (dread and circuses and what a wonderful world) are directly centered around gois (the circus of the disquieting and dr. wondertainment respectively), so if you find you’re interested in either of those you can check those out

-if you want to focus on the characters who work for the foundation itself:

obligatory “they also have tags” because yes, they also have tags.

foundation characters have a lot of content compared to other scp stuff, although you’re still kinda shit out of luck for any but the most popular ones

some of them have personnel files but also those files are terribly sorted and you will never find them on your own and i am very, very sorry about that and i wish it was different too

tales, by their nature, mostly focus on foundation employees and canons mostly focus on particular facets of the foundation, so like. go there

you have to read scp-3001 and scp-3999. actually even if you’re doing the other three things you have to read those. 3001 and 3999 are required fucking reading

-some general notes about the bullshit the community does

my fucking god. many of these bitches in some way bigoted and much older content is kind of.... palpably dated. bad for them bad for them. theres a lot of people who are cool and gay though its not all bad

the staff are bad people, full stop. at the least theyre complicit in the other staff member’s actions

djkaktus is a rabid dog and needs to be beaten to death with a stick. some of his earlier articles are good (actually when i say this i mostly mean 049-j ngl) and a lot are iconic (1730 aka what happened to site 13, i do not recognize the bodies in the water) but now he mostly just spends his time writing shitty insensitive political skips with snl tier humor. if someone recommends 4444 4911 or 5004 they are both wrong and have shit taste

this all doesnt mean you cant get into scp. obviously, i love scp, for the things that all the people who aren’t shitty make, and because of how the site works even the stuff shitty people make is often salvageable, but you gotta acknowledge the degree of bullshit in order to engage

What if I don't like SCP 076 and SCP 073 but still respect other's opinions of them? Personally, I don't like SCP 076 or 073 because while I do think the twist with Abel becoming the very thing he hated/was killed by the most is interesting; I just feel like it's kinda badly executed? Like, I feel like Abel doesn't really have a deeper motivation for killing people besides "Oh, he's pissed" or that hes supposed to be this warrior archetype? Cain, I just find disappointing and boring.

i never meant to make it seem like i’m judging people for liking or disliking a character or even being critical of them - the thing that gets under my skin is people being needlessly nasty about the fact that there are people who enjoy(ed) reading about them, a lot of whom are kids. i think there are times when criticism isn’t even intended to be constructive and is just ill-tempered venting of the spleen.

i 100% agree with you btw - cool concept, lackluster execution. what i like about these characters now (besides the nostalgia) is mostly down to what could have been. so we’ve got one of the most archetypal “victim and villain” narratives ever, except we’ve flipped it…maybe. there’s plenty that could be explored about culpability: if cain has done awful things but has worked hard to atone for his actions thousands of years ago and to improve the world around him, does that absolve him? if able is the way he is because of what happened to him, who is responsible for all the people he killed? at what point is a victim not a victim anymore through the choices they’ve made?

you could spin it into a narrative about the cycle of intergenerational violence, even!

as for able’s character…i think that some of the more recent interpretations are pretty good. he was written as “this is my oc hugedick mcswordsalot, he is very cool and cannot die”, but what he really is is a person who is selfish, childish, impulsive, arrogant, even vain. you’ve got a brat with big muscles who’s 10 millenia old. that’s fun!

but able is someone who has been stuck in the same place, mentally and emotionally, for so long that he’s lost all sight of there being anything else for him except repeating the same brutal, pointless cycle, over and over, forever. it doesn’t even feel like a choice anymore. there’s something slightly sad in that, i think. what a waste of a life.

SCP 073 (Cain)

(Yes. I think of Cain and Abel as brothers. Like a lot of others who's in this fandom)

Being the youngest sister of Cain and Abel meant that you has both or at least 1 of the brothers looking over you most of the time. Namely Abel. Cain however, was more lenient towards you and allowed you to have some free time. "CAAAAAAIN!!!" you screamed at the eldest brother. "Yes (Y/N)?" he answered softly. You wanted to ask him about Abel because you wanted to fix the problems they both had when they faced each other. By problem, it was that time when Cain killed Abel. You can't blame Abel for being mad at Cain because of this, but you really wanted to get your only family members together without having any tension. Cain noticed you thinking and questioning, "You ok (Y/N)?". You snapped out of your thoughts and smiled. "I was just wondering if 343 is free right now" you replied in which Cain didn't push any further. You both walked over to 343's cell for a visit. 343 was the other SCP you've ever been close to other than the brothers and 105. 343 sat in his room and read a book until he saw the both of you standing by his door. He greeted you and you guys had a nice chat. 343 always treated you and your brothers as a family so you were always comfortable around him. You are a safe class SCP with the number tag of 073-2.

SCP 076-2 (Abel)

(It's pretty much like Cain's as I just associate them both as brothers)

After your visit with the eldest brother, Cain, you went to see Abel. He was the most protective dickhead you've ever met, but he would give up anything to save you. "Hey (Y/N)!!!" your brother spoke. "Whaaaaaaaaaaat?!" you sighed heavily. "Tell the mechanical man to piss off". You wanted to slap some sense into Abel but didn't as you just sat in his box quietly and felt the need to cry. Abel came over to you and wrapped his arm around your shoulders. You cried and slept in his box for a good few hours until the guards came to retrieve you. You both said your goodbyes and went back to your cells. You are also known as SCP 073-2, safe class.

SCP 999 (Tickle Monster)

Not unlike your older brother, you made everyone's day by being kind and gentle. You can heal their wounds and they'd give you treats in return. You and 999 hanged out every day and played for hours on ends. The guards who escorted you there were watching and giggling at your antics. Why do you need guards you ask? It's because one time an idiot decided to take advantage of you in which 999 requested guards to escort you at all times. The guards treat you kindly like a daughter/sister so you always held respect for them. After every test rounds, you were requested to help the SCPs while your elder brother helped with the test subjects. After that, you both were free to roam. Sometimes, you'd bump into 131 and they'd stay with you for a bit if the guards weren't there to stay with you. Your number is SCP 999-2, safe class

SCP 682 (Hard to destroy reptile)

Without any researchers mentioning you and that giant angry lizard, nobody would've guessed that you guys were blood related let alone siblings. Unlike 682, you weren't as hateful as him as you had a small bit of hope left for humanity, however, you can be fierce and cold when need be. Everyone including 682 has acknowledged this and sometimes you were helping the MTF to search and contain SCPs. Not only are you intelligent, you also had the strength which rivalled both 682 and 076-2 as seen when you both had a duel during a containment breach. 682 was a protective older brother when you both were young and still hold a good relationship till this day, with the exception of a few instances when you'd both have a fight and the poor innocent bystanders had to intervene the both of you. Its not like either of you would get hurt. You weren't afraid of most SCPs, unlike a certain wimp who was terrified of a rabbit, although you both shared the same interest towards a little girl in the facility. During containment breaches, you were often called in to fish out your big brother to avoid any further damages and kills. The SCP designation given to you is SCP 682-2, Euclid class.

SCP 049 (Plague Doctor)

Growing up with the plague doctor was rather unique. He taught you everything and anything you wanted. Especially the plague and how to perform surgery on humans. You travelled with him for centuries and had witnessed just as much as he did. After being "captured" by the foundation, the personelles often see you both side by side and rarely separated. Except for those interviews and tests. You wore a cape and a mask not too dissimilar to his, however, it only covered the first half of your face. Your style of clothing were of the Victorian era which you picked up on your travels and had some form of interest in those types of clothing. Like your brother, you spoke with manner and eloquence and wore cloves with pointed nails and also carried a bag with tools in which were the same make as those found in 049's bag. You have the designation of SCP 049-A, Euclid class.

Dr. Glass

Everyone at the facility shipped the both of you without realising that Dr. Glass was your older brother. "Hey (Y/N). Did anyone tell you that you and Simon would make a cute couple?" a researcher asked. You looked at him with disgust as Simon appeared out of nowhere and heard the conversation. The both of you said that you're both siblings without missing a beat and the researcher looked embarrassed and apologised. This news has spread like wildfire to both of your dismay and everyone said that they now see the resemblance. You both had similar personalities, however, the only difference is that although you did study psychology, you were specialised in neuroscience and forensic science.

Dr. Bright It's pretty much obvious that you both were siblings. Similar appearance, humour, intelligence, you name it. Boy only that, you had a bracelet with the same red gem as Jack's necklace. Much like the previous one I’ve mentioned (Dr. Glass) you did study the same subjects as your brother, and yes, you are specialised in a subject in the scientific field, namely biochemistry and mathematics. Not only that, but you’re also the head of the department and is in the O5 Council. Jack Bright was like every other older brother, annoying, protective and funny. As you both grow older, he became even more protective of you as you were one of the only family member left and he doesn’t want you to be in harm's way. He had witnessed too much for him to lose you so he would always accompany you if you were on a mission

Description of SAB 202

The SAB 202 compressor is a capacity adjustable screw compressor with oil injection. The two rotors are equipped with 4 lobes (male rotor) and 6 lobes (female rotor), respectively, executed with asymmetric profile according to SRM licence. As indicated on the spare parts drawing at the end of this manual, the rotors at the suction end are fitted with slide bearings, whereas the bearing at the discharge end consists of a combined bearing set with slide bearings, absorbing the radial load, and ball bearings, absorbing the axial forces. The axial forces are partly relieved by means of the rotating balance pistons mounted on the rotors. The rotors are designed for both male drive and female drive. The driving rotor is fitted with a shaft.

The compressor is fitted with a large built-in suction filter, which effectively prevents dirt particles from the refrigeration plant from being led with the suction gas into the compressor. The suction filter housing also has a built-in compressor protection valve which - controlled by a pilot valve - safeguards the compressor against any unwanted high compression pressures. For efficient filtration of the oil that lubricates the bearings in the compressor, an oil filter cartridge has been inserted in the compressor block.

Furthermore, the compressor contains a built-in non-return valve, preventing the compressor from running backwards whenever the power to the driving motor is disconnected. The driving shaft is fitted with a shaft seal of the slide ring type, consisting of a fixed cast iron ring with an O-ring sealing against the shaft seal cover and a rotating springloaded carbon ring with O-ring sealing against the shaft. It is possible to regulate the compressor capacity steplessly from approx. 10% to 100% by means of a regulating slide mounted under the rotors. Once the slide has moved away from the slide stop a gap is created so that some of the sucked-in gas is returned to the suction side. The bigger the gap, the lower the compressor capacity. The regulating slide is moved hydraulically by a regulating piston and controlled by a solenoid valve system. The compressor also features a regulating system by which the built-in Vi volume ratio can be adjusted. The result hereof is that the compressor works optimally at varying operational pressures in the plant.

To optimize the compressor volume ratio the position of the Vi regulating slide must be changed whenever the compressor works at max. capacity. This is done by changing the position of the slide stop. At partial load the Vi volume ratio will only be approaching the optimum. Regulating the built-in Vi volume ratio can be done in the following two ways, depending on the compressor type Manual regulation of the Vi slide:

By turning the spindle, pos. 180, in accordance with the curves in the instruction manual.

By means of the oil pressure and two solenoid valves, controlled by a UNISAB II control system.

Hair Hues of Radiata Stories

Here is the complete list of all the Radiata Stories characters (both recruitable and NPCs) taken from Fuck Yeah Radiata Stories​ and sorted by hair colour. There are a couple things I want to add. 

First off, while most of the characters fit neatly into one of the eight categories, there are some characters whose hair colour was more ambiguous (i.e. dark blonde vs. light brown hair). I placed them where I thought they were best fit.

Black and blue are the same category because some of the black-haired characters like Cairn have a bluish tint and technically speaking, black pigment is really just a dark blue anyway.

There are some characters who are either bald or have their head covered so you can’t tell the colour of their head hair. Instead of classifying them as bald or unknown, I classified them based on the colour of their facial hair and eyebrows. This is why Dynas is in with the brunettes instead of the baldies.

While I could have made a separate category for pink hair, I ultimately decided it should just belong with red/orange because pink is just light red anyway.

Overall, there is a wide, diverse spectrum of hair colours and not all characters fit perfectly into their respective category. So if you think certain characters are miscategorised, well that’s your opinion and you’re entitled to it.
