When it works! I’ve made quite a few mushroom woodland scene orbs with more failures than successes. This one might be my best yet. It has the right balance of flora and fauna, the mushroom didn’t float off and there aren’t a heap of bubbles trapped underneath the cap. This orb was made from funeral flowers to honor my client's grandfather. They gave me a gorgeous sunflower and a beautiful carnation to create this piece to honor him. I don't use live flowers very often because they have to be dried properly for a month before I can even think about touching them to be able to keep the colors vibrant. However, I was more than happy to create this for her. I absolutely am in 💙love🧡 with terrarium pyramid! I will definitely be making more of these soon! Here is a side-by-side example of what happens to some of the colors of the flowers when exposed to resin. This white and orange daffodil turned yellow! I think it is beautiful, but I understand that someone wanting their flowers preserved won't want the color to change. This is still part of the reason why I'm not releasing this line yet. I've been trying out using real flowers in my resin pieces. My orchid drops a flower every so often, so I have the opportunity to use the fallen flowers. I love how these have turned out! I gave myself a cremation tattoo to honor my cat, Mini, who recently passed away. Her ashes are in the ink. It was hard to do because I got very emotional, and I had to do it one-handed, but she'll always be with me now. The design is my original. This was the hardest set of pieces for me to make. I lost my 13 year old cat, Mini, to an unknown illness recently. We just got her ashes back yesterday and I bawled all day. My husband, one of the most amazing men I've ever known, took me to pick out an unusual type of urn for her while I cried in the store. I didn't know if I was going to be able to make these pieces. Tears were selling up in my eyes as I opened the velvet bag she was now in. One of the things I loved a lot about her is her toe beans. She loved it when I stuck my fingers in between them. She would stretch them out and purr. I wanted to make something that really reminded me of her. So here is a paw print necklace with touchable toe beans. It's like I can really feel her.
