Can you name any favorites whose age is significantly younger than Noel?
I had this question before. I had only few guys. Now my choice is changing, so I can name at least 10 persons :)
John Robins
Born 04/05/1982
I found out about him from Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled, then Mock The Week and Taskmaster, of course. He's the 17th series winner! Lovely guy and looks adorable. I like this type of people. Probably, he doesn't look as extraordinary as Noel, but he has a positive energy that can make me love him. I think, he's a nice guy :) Also, he's a fan of Queen! I respect him for that! I really like classic rock legends!
Joe Lycett
Born 05/07/1988
One of my very first favorites after Noel! Always smiling and laughing dummy ;) I've been interested in this guy for the years. As Noel, Joe never aspired to be just a comedian on the stage. Every year he changed himself in a different ways. I'm absolutely not surprising that it's difficult to recognize a once modest boy in current Lycett. That makes it cool and unique! He's actually great!
Ed Gamble
Born 10/03/1986
Mock The Week star, Taskmaster winner and podcast host. I didn't even knew that Ed had a problem with the weight. Now he looks just awesome! Sexy, beautiful, funny and always positive guy!
Joey Page
Born 12/05/1985
Yes, I still remember and like him. He debuted in Never Mind The Buzzcocks and Luxury Comedy (2010-2011). Probably, he's not a big celebrity, but he's still cool. I like watching his podcasats "Got A Problem Mate" Interesting and hilarious :)
Chris Ramsey
Born 03/08/1986
Another lovely comedian that I discovered from Never Mind The Buzzcocks. He's beautiful and always laughing man. Also he's a great host. One of the longtime favorites :)
Aisling Bea
Born 16/03/1984
Irish female comedian with original voice. She is beautiful and interesting person. Started like her after Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Taskmaster, QI and Big Fat Quiz :)
Sam Campbell
Born 19/09/1991
He was a guest in Never Mind The Buzzcocks in Noel's team. I'm usually not remembering the persons that I've never knew. Then he took a part and win in Taskmaster. Funny, trolly and creative guy :)
Jack Whitehall
Born 07/07/1988
Love him in ALOTO (A League Of Their Own) Also he was amazing host in Never Mind The Buzzcocks :)
Joanne McNally
Born 07/05/1983
The newest for me. It's an Irish stand-up comedian, writer, and actress. McNally was the co-host of Republic of Telly for RTÉ and has also appeared on The Late Late Show, The Afternoon Show, Ireland AM, Two Tube, and The Commute for RTÉ. As well as segments on RTÉ 2fm, McNally co-hosts a podcast called My Therapist Ghosted Me with Vogue Williams. 2nd place of Taskmaster. Beautiful and funny girl :)
Rosie Jones
Born 26/06/1990
Rosie is no average girl. She was born with congenital paralysis, but instead of letting it hold her back, she embraced it as a unique part of who she is. It's like her quirky trademark. She's incredibly gifted and has a great sense of humor. Plus, she's pretty adorable :)
Sophie Willan
Born 21/10/1987
English actress, narrator, writer and comedian. She has won two BAFTAs for her television sitcom Alma's Not Normal. Also one of the craziest Taskmaster contestants :)
Olga Koch
Born 01/09/1992
Russian-British stand-up comedian, writer, and actress. Found out about her from Mock The Week. She's so loud! But still funny :)
Thanks for asking ;) x

Surge in rebel attacks sparks mass protests in eastern Congo
At least seven people died in riots in North Kivu province in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, African media reported.
The incident occurred after people took to the streets to protest a surge in deadly attacks by suspected Islamist rebels. The Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), an Islamic State-linked rebel group, allegedly killed more than 40 people in an attack on the village of Mayikengo this week. They also allegedly killed 80 people in attacks on other villages in the province the previous week.
Insecurity intensified public discontent, leading to the killing of two soldiers and their driver in Lubero territory. A crowd set fire to their vehicle on Friday night, according to local official Julio Mabanga.
On Saturday, further clashes in the area between security forces and locals led to the deaths of three more people: a civilian, a soldier, and an ANR national intelligence service agent.
A similar protest erupted in the city of Butembo on Saturday, when hundreds of young people took to the streets with sticks, chanting and singing songs denouncing widespread insecurity.
Butembo Mayor Mowa Baeki Telly confirmed that a civilian had been killed during clashes between security forces and protesters in the city.
The ADF originated in neighbouring Uganda but now housed in the mineral-rich eastern Congo. They pledged allegiance to Islamic State and carried out frequent attacks, further destabilising a region where many militant groups competed for influence and resources.
The US-based intelligence group SITE monitors militant websites. It reported on Friday that Islamic State issued a communiqué from its so-called Central African province unit in which they claimed responsibility for killing 51 people in attacks in North Kivu that week, according to Reuters. They also claimed to have beheaded more than 60 people in one attack in the province on 7 June.

I can’t speak for Checo or Franco, but I can tell you about Carlos and Fernando (and also about their accents when speaking English!)
Now, I'll warn you: this is long. This gets political (I need to explain Spanish history from the last century and a dictatorship. About this, please take this with a grain of salt. This is a left-leaning view of Spanish history, taught to me (i was born in the late 2000s) by other left-leaning people (who also weren't there to see it. Dictatorship ended in 1975 and my mum was born in '76). Your mileage may differ, specially if you were taught this differently and from different people)
Linebreak for clarity!
Let's start off with Carlos. What you need to understand about Carlos is that he's from Madrid. His accent is a pretty blank slate, it's the most similar to, like, Received Pronunciation in the UK. It's the dialect you hear in ads, see on the telly and hear on the radio. The old money thing with Carlos is not just that he's old money: to be old money in Spain, you need to have kept that money during the Civil War (between 1936 and 1939) and through Franco's dictatorship. A very conservative dictatorship, very pro-royal, very sundays-are-for-church and very ¡VIVA ESPAÑA! Basically, it's fascism. Franco came from fascist groups very much inspired by Hitler and Mussolini. What you need to understand about the Civil War, is that it started by overthrowing a Republic, that had replaced the monarchy. The dictatorship did not end because the Spanish people rose up and fought. No. It ended because Franco kicked the bucket and he decided the next ruler of Spain will be a king. That was in 1975. Carlos' grandfather was a diplomat/consul in Bolivia, surely between those years (i cannot confirm this but timeline-wise it makes sense. sr was born in the 60s and we do not know when he started working, but i mean. 1950s sounds like a plausible time for me. carlos's grandfather was born in 1926 btw). To be in a position representing the gobernment, you need to agree with those ideologies. This is in a time if anybody found out you did not agree with the dictatorship, the police would appear at your house, request you come outside, take you to a lonely road and shoot you and bury you there. There are bodies of important people we have not found because they're buried on random ass roads in this country. (Lope de Vega, for example, who was a great author and a part of the Generation of 27. He is studied in all high schools and one of his plays is compulsory reading. He was also gay. And republican. And so, when the war started, he was shot and dead.) Alright, history over (for this part anyway). All of this to say, Carlos' family is historically conservative and loaded (without even mentioning the fact that Reyes was high society from Madrid. where did you think most of Carlos' surnames came from?). Carlos speaks, when not speaking to the press but rather with his friends (with Teto on Don't Blink), in a rather young, unserious manner. Lots of "cabrón" and "tío" and dropping his Ds at the end of verbs (this is mostly in the participle form. you can see this in this clip! (he flipao tío vs. he flipado tío)). He doesn't speak posh is what I'm trying to say. Many people that fit his background try to overcorrect for it by speaking in this way. What I'm trying to say is, Carlos is what we in Spain call a cayetano: posh, upper class, patriotic (cayetanos also say cabrón a lot. like a lot lot). They also wear white pants with below the ankle socks. While speaking English, Carlos does not try to put on an accent. He also struggles with idioms a lot and speaks English while translating directly from Spanish in his head, despite the fact that he has probably gotten a very much higher than average teaching of English and quite a lot of experience. (If I'm not mistaken, he went to a british school [side note that is the poshest school you could go to. in my experience, they actually don't make you that better at english than the rest of us. i've never gone to one but] and he has lived in the uk for several years)
Now Fernando. Fernando is working class and from the north of Spain. This is important because Spain does not have only one language. There are several, and most are up north. (Galician, Basque and Catalan are up north, Valencian is down the side. That's only counting the co-official languages though). Asturias does have its own co-existing language, but it is not officially recognised, and therefore it is not taught in school. This is Asturianu, notable for having closed vowels (Oviedo (in Spanish) vs Uviéu (in Asturianu)). It's sort of similar to Galician, but that's because they are geographically close (literally neighbours). I'm willing to take a punt that Fernando's parents spoke Asturianu, and if not, his grandparents definitely do. Asturianu isn't something he talks about, and it's something I'd genuinely would love to ask him about. I'd wager a guess that Fernando's Asturianu is very very rusty, but this vowel closedness does impact the way he speaks. Specially if you get clips of younger Fernando (Minardi, early Renault), you can see that. He's also quite a quiet man. When speaking English, you can hear a mish-mash of accents and he makes the same mistakes as Carlos most of the time. However, after 20-odd years in Formula 1, he has picked up quite a lot of idioms and his English is alright. If you take Fernando saying the word car recently, it's oddly British. Fernando's accent speaking English is quite similar to my father's, which does make sense. (They are both northern spanish men from roughly similar areas and ages who work in English environments and need technical words for these environments.)
Question for Spanish speaking F1blr-- non Spanish speakers (such as myself) are def missing out on the nuanced differences in accents and dialects between Spanish speaking drivers. What do you pick up from the way Spanish speakers like Fernando, Carlos, Checo, and Franco talk? (Ex. Fernando is from a working class background, while Carlos is upper class and seemingly old money-- does that come through in the way they speak? Do Franco and Checo have regional accents from within their home countries, and have they changed their Spanish to sound more European after living abroad? Do any of them use fun country specific slang?)
Anyway, hoping this turns into the sequel of the British accent post because I love hearing about sociolinguistics. Though this may be more difficult since obviously the Hispanic world is a lot bigger than the UK.
#ohh i could talk hours about the political implications of carlos sainz but i wont!#this is more than enough for now

Tellie Floydd - Go Time (feat. J$PH)
This one had a real authentic underground feeling to it, with a grimey vocal style and a jazz-oriented beat, the whole energy of it felt like the feel-good lyrical street hip hop we know and love!
Imported at a young age from Santiago in the Dominican Republic, Tellie Floydd is a hip hop artist hailing from Inwood Heights in New York, with a sound that stokes mid-90 influence with a contemporary twist.

Irishness in Australia is precarious in the 80s. It's a quirky trait, it's a dangerous political identity, it depends how you weaponise it. 80s Australia loved the monarchy much more than we do now, it's dangerous to question it on telly. We are safe here, safer than indigenous Australians, safer than POC, safer than Mediterranean and Eastern Europeans. But in the 80s we are still pre Celtic tiger, we are poor men escaping the destitution of the republic, or we are northerners escaping The Troubles. Being Irish is a political identity in the 80s, being the right type of Irish is crucial to success. When Gerry says "Australians are susceptible to Irish charm" that is the way the best behaving of us were viewed. Charm. The worst of us (people like my father) were accused of terrorism.
I don't think the Irish have had a terrible time in Australia, but the 80s were a time where Irishness was politicised, and that might be why Gerry is well behaved. Why he doesn't talk back to his bosses, why he uses Charlie's jokes on air, an extra reason to hide his queerness because being queer makes him politically Irish.
I dunno, I don't make sense right now but I just. View Gerry through the lens of someone whose family, within living memory, experienced actual structural violence against the Irish.
Not to mention my own experience with Irish masculinity in the diaspora that has nothing to do with xenophobia and is its own cultural bubble.
This is not to complain that I had it soooo bad, cause I had it real good actually. But it's just. I do see Gerry as an Irishman in a constitutional monarchy in the 80s and I feel like that's part of why he is how he is.
The way I do want to talk specifically about Gerry as a queer Irishman in the 80s but every member of the diaspora uses their identity to talk over racialised people as if we ourselves are when we're not so I sound like an absolute wank when I go "actually his Irishness is important". But actually it is important.

A Study of the Heart and Brain (Book 1) Chapter Sixteen
Chapter Sixteen: Beauty Queen
After they alerted Lestrade to the next mystery, John, Sherlock, and (Y/N) met him at the Morgue. Connie Prince’s body lay on a table with a deep cut in her hand with webbing between the thumb and pointer finger.
“Connie Prince, forty-eight. She had one of those makeover shows on the telly,” said Lestrade. “Did you see it?”
“No,” said Sherlock, shaking his head.
“Very popular,” commented Lestrade. “She was going places.”
“Not anymore,” remarked (Y/N).
“So, dead two days,” said Sherlock, examining the body. “According to one of her staff, Raoul de Santos, she cut her hand on a rusty nail in the garden. Nasty wound.”
“Tetanus bacteria enters her bloodstream, and, well…” (Y/N) shrugged and sighed. “But…we wouldn’t be directed towards this case if there wasn’t something amiss.” They leaned closer to the body and examined the multiple scratches on her arms. Claw marks, likely owns a cat. Tiny pinpricks could be seen on her forehead and nose, too. Probably Botox.
“John,” said Sherlock. “The cut on her hand, it’s deep—would have bled a lot, right?”
“Yeah,” said John in agreement.
“But the wound is very clean, very fresh,” observed Sherlock.
“How long would the bacteria have been incubating inside her?” asked (Y/N).
“Eight, ten days,” offered John.
Sherlock gave a lopsided grin. “The cut was made later.”
“After she was dead?” wondered John aloud.
“But her cause of death was still tetanus, so it must’ve gotten in her some other way,” said (Y/N), furrowing their brow and twiddling with their lollipop contemplatively.
Sherlock looked to John. “You want to help, right?”
“Of course,” said John.
“Get me Connie Prince’s background—family, history, everything. Give me data,” said Sherlock.
“Right.” John nodded and left the room.
“There’s something we haven’t thought of,” said Lestrade.
“Is there?” asked Sherlock, casually, tossing (Y/N)’s sweater back to them as the pair went to leave.
“Yes. Why is he doing this, the bomber?” questioned Lestrade. Sherlock stopped, and his jaw tensed as the thousands of theories and possibilities for why Moriarty was targeting (Y/N). “If this woman’s death was suspicious, why point it out?” continued Lestrade.
“Good Samaritan,” offered Sherlock, playing his frustration off coolly.
“Who press-gangs suicide bombers?” asked Lestrade.
“Bad Samaritan,” said (Y/N).
“I’m serious, you two. Listen, Sherlock, (Y/N), I’m cutting you slack here; I’m trusting you. But out there somewhere, some poor bastard’s covered in Semtex and is just waiting for you to solve the puzzle,” said Lestrade harshly. “So tell me: what are we dealing with?”
“Something new,” said Sherlock softly, glancing at (Y/N), who was frowning in thought.
l
Eight hours to go…
On the walls and mirrors of 221B’s living room, pictures of Connie Prince, her body, and press cuttings were strung up next to the same photos about Carl Powers. Even as Sherlock and (Y/N) were trying to solve Connie Prince’s case, they were trying to find a connection between her and Carl Powers to try to find a pattern in the cases Moriarty was choosing.
“There must be a connection,” muttered Sherlock.
“Even if the victim’s themselves aren’t connected, Moriarty must have been involved with them,” said (Y/N).
Sherlock nodded. “The bomber admitted he knew Carl Powers. The iPhone was in stationary from the Czech Republic. First hostage was from Cornwall, second from London, and third from Yorkshire, judging by her accent. What’s he doing, working his way around the world?”
At that moment, the pink phone rang, and (Y/N) answered. “You’re enjoying this, aren’t you?” said the shaky voice of the hostage. Joining the…dots. Three hours: boom…boom…” The line went dead.
(Y/N) looked up in alarm. “They’ve cut it to three hours.”
Sherlock narrowed his eyes in frustration as he answered a message from a fan off Connie Prince’s, who they were using to get the gossip about her. Gossip was often rooted in a tiny bit of fact, so they might find some good answers for why she would be killed if they gathered all the theories surrounding her.
“Apparently, she and her brother, Kenny, didn’t get along,” said Sherlock after hanging up.
“Oh, I can believe that,” said Mrs. Hudson, nodding as she placed some biscuits down before leaving the room again. “No love lost there.”
(Y/N) glanced at their phone as a message appeared. John believed he was onto something at the house of Connie Prince where he was disguised as a reporter to get information from Kenny and Raoul. “We need to go to Connie Prince’s estate and grab some camera equipment. John thinks he’s onto something.”
l
At Connie Prince’s house, Kenny was primping in front of the mirror as John led them in under the guise of being photographers for the newspaper he worked at.
“Ah, little young, aren’t they?” remarked Kenny as he saw (Y/N).
“I just have a babyface. I’m very fortunate in the skin department,” said (Y/N), pretending they were just a really young-looking adult. The idiot bought it and nodded.
“Mr. Prince, isn’t it?” said Sherlock, shaking Kenny’s hand. “Very good to meet you. Sorry to hear about—”
“Yes, yes, very kind,” interrupted Kenny.
“Shall we get to it then?” said John. Kenny nodded while Sherlock and (Y/N) took out a camera. As they “worked” and Kenny was distracted by deciding how to pose, John murmured to them, “You were right. The bacteria got into her another way.”
“Oh, yes?” Sherlock smirked at the confirmation.
“Yes,” said John.
“We all set?” asked Kenny, ready to start his photoshoot.
“Um, yes,” said John.
Sherlock held up the flashbulb as he took a closeup of Kenny, who jolted back from the bright flash of light that went right into his eyes.
“Not too close!” ordered Kenny indignantly. “I’m raw from crying.”
A cat meowed by (Y/N)’s feet, and they decided to use it as a distraction in case Sherlock needed to look around at anything. “Who is that?”
“Sekhmet. Named after the Egyptian goddess,” said Kenny proudly, picking the cat up.
“Was she Connie’s or yours?” they continued as Sherlock glanced around the room and at Kenny without him noticing.
“Yes,” said Kenny haughtily. “Little present from yours truly.”
“Sherlock, uh, light reading?” asked John.
“Oh, um…” Sherlock used the flash in Kenny’s face again.
“Bloody hell!” exclaimed Kenny, covering his eyes as they tried to adjust back to the normal light of the sitting room. “What do you think you’re playing at?” As he spoke angrily, John reached out, felt the cat’s paws, and then sniffed his fingers. “You’re like Laurel and bloody Hardy, you three! What’s going on?” he demanded.
“Actually, I think we got what we came here for,” said John hurriedly. “Excuse us. Come on, Sherlock, (Y/N). We’ve got, um, deadlines.”
(Y/N) shrugged and followed John out. Sherlock packed up the equipment and caught up to them before Kenny demanded more of an explanation. John was positively ecstatic as they walked down the street.
“You think it was the cat,” observed (Y/N).
“What? Oh, yeah, only thing that makes sense, right?” said John.
(Y/N) unwrapped a lollipop and shook their head. “It wasn’t the cat.”
“But that must’ve been how they got tetanus in her system,” argued John. “The cat’s paws smell of disinfectant. He coated it onto the paws of her cat. It’s a new pet, probably jumpy, a scratch is almost inevitable. She wouldn’t have…” He trailed off seeing their amused faces.
“It was a possibility,” admitted (Y/N). “She did have a scratch on her arm. But it’s too random and clever for her brother.”
“He murdered his sister for money,” realized John.
“Nope,” negated Sherlock once again.
“No?”
“No, it was revenge,” said (Y/N).
“Who wanted revenge?”
“Raoul, the houseboy. He and Kenny were together, but Kenny Prince was the butt of his sister’s jokes every show, a real bullying campaign,” began (Y/N). “He had a big falling out with her over it. It is all over the gossip sites. She threatened to disinherit him. Raoul was used to a certain lifestyle now that he was dating Kenny, so he killed her.” Sherlock nodded proudly towards (Y/N), and they ducked their head in embarrassed happiness.
“Hang on, wait. What about the disinfectant?” asked John, furrowing his brow in confusion.
(Y/N) shrugged and took out their lollipop to answer clearly. “All the floors are heavily disinfected to keep them clean. The bottoms of our shoes smell like that cat’s paws. Cat doesn’t come into it.”
“But Raoul’s search history does,” said Sherlock. He grinned. “Home Office got me his recent purchases. Lots of Botox.”
l
One hour to go…
At Scotland Yard, with no time to spare, Sherlock, (Y/N), and John walked urgently into Lestrade’s office.
“Raoul de Santos is your killer, Kenny Prince’s houseboy and boyfriend,” said (Y/N), taking charge since they didn’t want to wait at all. “Second autopsy revealed that botulinum toxic killed Connie Prince, not tetanus.”
Sherlock shook his head mockingly. “Tut, tut, the killer is repeating themself.”
“How’d they get it in her?” asked Lestrade.
“Botox injection,” explained (Y/N). “Botox is just a diluted form of botulinum, and Raoul gave Connie Prince regular facial injections, so it was very easy to poison her.”
“My contact at the Home Office gave me the complete records of Raoul’s internet purchases. He’s been bulk ordering for months. Bided his time, the upped the strength to a fata dose,” Sherlock finished putting the pieces together in the proper order.
“You sure about this?” asked Lestrade. He sighed. “Then I need to make some calls. Excuse me.” He left the office.
“Hey, Sherlock. How long?” demanded John, glaring at him.
“What?” asked Sherlock, acting oblivious, but (Y/N) turned to him too and furrowed their brow questioningly.
“How long have you known the answer? I can tell you did,” snapped John.
“Well, this one was quite simple, actually. And like I said, the murderer repeated himself,” said Sherlock. “That was a mistake.”
“Sherlock, you should have told me,” said (Y/N). “I’m not as smart as you yet. It took me until the second autopsy finished and then I just needed to see the houseboy when we went in as photographers, but if you had the answers, you should have told me.”
Sherlock sighed. “I know, I know, but I needed time to think about other things. If we had gotten close to the deadline, I would have told you, but I could tell you had figured it out.”
(Y/N) bit their lip in frustration. “Next time just tell me straight away, okay?”
Sherlock softened, and he put a hand on their shoulder. “I just needed to see if I could figure anything else out before we moved on to a harder case.”
John was not blind and smiled slightly to himself as he saw (Y/N) relax at Sherlock’s touch. He found it amusing how the two “disconnected from emotions” detectives were so familial with one another. It was endearing.
“I’ll send the message,” said (Y/N), going back to business. They opened Lestrade’s computer (they had figured out his passwords ages ago) and went to Sherlock’s website. In the chat, they wrote, “Raoul de Santos, the houseboy Botox.” The moment they sent the message, the pink phone rang. (Y/N) answered, “Hello?”
“Help me,” said the tearful old woman’s voice.
“Tell us where you are,” said (Y/N).
“He was so…His voice…” began the woman shakily.
(Y/N) gripped the phone tighter. “No, no, stop. Don’t tell me anything about him. Nothing.”
Sherlock’s head jerked up towards them in alarm as he heard them attach a new fact to Moriaty: he was a man. Another mostly unhelpful clue, but Sherlock was more worried for the fact the woman was revealing something about Moriarty, describing at least his voice (the most likely attribute since she was blind and wouldn’t be able to read from pager). Sherlock knew with certainty Moriarty would not like that.
“He sounded so…soft.”
And as the words left her mouth, the line cut out with a crackle. (Y/N) froze as they processed what had just happened. Moriarty had blown the woman up for describing his voice.
A hand landed on their shoulder, and (Y/N) jumped at the suddenness. But it was just Sherlock, pulling them to him. He understood what had happened and was enraged that Moriarty had just further scarred (Y/N), an already traumatized teenager. Sherlock’s teenager. All the more reason to put Moriarty behind bars, beat him in his game so that he’d stop stalking (Y/N) and leave them alone. They were handling his cases well, but Sherlock could see the stress and frustration in them. They had talent, yes, but they were still young and being pushed too far could do actual harm.
Sherlock would protect them from that.
