Ren got home and just wanted to lay down, although his dexcom app has been screaming at him for his arrow down borderline low blood sugar. Between that and just feel weak from using his abilities for so long, he was exhausted, and he knew he should call Connie before she finds out herself. Ren was grabbing some orange juice when he heard a knock at the door, he opened it. "Hey, I was just about to call you... I assume you heard?" as he assumed she wouldn't just be showing up without knowing, "I'm fine, I promise."

Ren opened the door and smiled guiltily to Connie, "Hey, do you mind if we wait a little longer to go get some food?" he asked. "I can give you some snacks, it's just... my blood sugar is high and I took some insulin and I've been waiting for it to come down, and I just want to make sure it goes down before I screw with it more., because then it crashes low, and please don't hate me for making you starve for a little longer."

"Of all what?" Connie asked, furrowing her brow in confusion, "Dude, you have not beaten me in Mario Kart in years unless I let you. What do you think is gonna change now?"

"Well, I feel like my body got hit by a train, and my blood sugar is definitely low, but I'm alive and as fine as I can be right now," Ren replied. "I poured some orange juice though, so it should help. Maggie's son is hurt and I need to go back in the morning after I grab some food for her, Mariza, and Ariadne."

Connie had heard about the attack and went to Ren's in a panic. She could have called, should have called, but she needed to see him in person. As soon as she had her sights on him, she threw her arms around him, "Oh my god, you're alive. I was so worried," she said over his shoulder, "Are you okay? You're not hurt at all over? How's your blood sugar?" she asked in quick succession.

"Yeah, I just, I'm tired of all this," Ren replied and shrugged. "Hm... I don't know, maybe we can play some video games? Unless, you aren't ready to be beat at Mario Kart?"

"As long as you're taking care of yourself, you know I'm a phone call away if you ever need sugary things," Connie replied, smiling, "What do you wanna do then? Since we're hanging out."

Ren let out a small laugh, "I wish. I think I over-bolused earlier and I went low, and well it was a stubborn one and refused to go up. And well, you know the drill, all the cards hit. I'm just playing ping pong with my blood sugar today apparently," he replied.

"That's okay, I brought my post-swim snacks," Connie replied, patting her bag as she stepped into the house, "Were you eating sweet treats earlier without me?" she asked both suspiciously and teasingly.
