Okay so another thing about the beach is episode of Asian circuit that is glorious is the showing of everybody’s cooking abilities, and the absurdity of how they cook 

Kai in all rendition of Vanguard knows how to cook canonically probably one of the best cooks because he lives alone and I find it funny enough in dub that he is just so seemly grossed out by lobster that he’s upset at the idea of touching lobster (something no one told him he had to do, Ren was making everyone stew and Miwa was making omelettes, he had no need to cook), but in sub, it seems like he’s just straight up fighting the lobster

The crustacean did nothing, and still won. Kai who were you fighting???????

What haunts me most about this is not everyone’s absolute insanity to eat and help cook this without any questions asked (looking at you girls, Emi you help cook you should say something and Asuka stop encouraging him not adding water is asking for chard  food) , but the fact that it somehow turned out good

okay so,

I kinda already talked about xb here so I won’t do him but basically:

Rock - this is probably the category with the least thought put into it? Wels and Doc are known for liking rock (and it often features in their videos), Xisuma I believe also likes it? cc!xisuma creates his own music, but the stuff he makes I’d moreso describe as like, 90s video game music. However, I think rock fits Xisuma’s character pretty well, as this intimidating buff guy in doom armour. Cleo just seems cool and seems like she’d like that stuff.

Video Game OSTs - so, everyone on this category I would describe as being VERY into video games (I mean all the hermits are but like, these are the decked out obsessed, tcg obsessed, playing games 24/7 crowd). Etho and Gem listen to “calmer” soundtracks - stardew valley, animal crossing, legend of zelda, etc. For Etho it helps him get in the zone for focusing and for Gem it fits her whole cosy, cottagecore vibe. Jevin listens to songs that are more upbeat and fast-paced, probably certain Undertale songs or pokemon or something, it helps motivate him. Hypno idk anything specifically, maybe something a bit more dramatic and intense, but he would 100% listen to video game osts.

Musicals - yes Ren is definitely a starkid guy! That would be his jam! Scar would like 2 types: 1) disney “musicals” (e.g. moana, encanto, tangled, etc) as is required from The Disney Guy and 2) hamilton (I am sorry but he would be a hamilton guy). Bdubs would be the most intense musicals guy ever. Would have a heathers phase for sure. Off the bat I’m thinking Mean girls, cats, waitress, etc. Impulse would be a little embarrassed about his tastes at first, but eventually accept it, and sing songs all the time. I don’t really have anything in mind for Impulse, but he’d probably like cliche stuff.

Genres you’ve never heard of / vocaloid bardcore - so vocaloid bardcore was more of an example. It’s not a thing (that I know of) but it could potentially exist (bardcore cover voiced over by a vocaloid). I think Joe would ADORE it though, bardcore would definitely be his thing and I think Joe would be fascinated by the concept of vocaloids. He’d be a hatsune miku fan. Joe generally would come up with all sorts of weird genres himself messing around with Quinn (like cc!joe does on streams sometimes) and if he found something weird and creative, would absolutely obsess over it. For Cub, the vocaloid bardcore thing applies less to him, but he would definitely like Vocaloids. For artists, I’m thinking GHOST for sure. He’d also pick up all sorts of weird stuff from youtube recommendations, like you ever get recommended those like 4 view songs that were released by some indie artist a day ago? He’d eat that up. He’d be like “hey listen to this” and nobody would be able to describe what he just had them listen to.

Weirdass sounds - I can’t see Grian’s character enjoying music tbh, maybe ABBA but thats a low bar. He would, however, listen to ASMR. This would lead him down a rabbithole of increasingly weirder and weirder videos. The ASMR noises he’s listening to are just unhinged at this rate, stuff like “fish deboning” “crocs with socks wading through mud”. Tango, on the other hand, would listen to extremely grungy indecipherable mess of noise, or like “environmental” tracks, like the environmental music in his Decked Out nether tunnel.
