Make sure you finish rinsing your hair with cold water, it'll add shine and help water roll off the hair because the cuticle constricts. Squeeze pat your hair with a microfiber hair towel, the microfiber acts as a sponge and soaks up much of the water. Apply heat protectant products and styling products, the ingredients in salon grade products are formulated to dry quickly whole protecting your hair from high heat and keeping your natural humectants. Pre dry all over while moving your hair around section by section- it will ensure faster evaporation and cut your work by half while keeping organized and the hair not too ruffled. Now that you've got technique and products down, let's talk correct tools. Technology has come a long way, make sure your blow dryer is salon grade- cheap dryers can actually burn and dry out hair. An ionic hair dryer that is both powerful and quiet and ergonomic is what we shoot for as stylists. The lighter the better too. Top 5 are Sedu, Elchim, BaByliss, BioIonic, or Solia. I myself use my Elchim, BaByliss, and Bio-Ionic dryers but am upgrading to a Sedu soon. I've had my Elchim and BaByliss for over a decade now, because their technology and engineering was top back then and still is now. Hair and makeup for the E! News Spring looks. Get your denim and 70's floral back out ladies, and a new look- martial arts. Shoes: chunky square heels, strappy sandals or kitten heels. Hair- beachy waves and braids have never gone out of style for the season but the texture changes like wet to long are back. Makeup: minimal- nude lips, fresh dewy skin or bronzed and sandy suede, bold brows, mascara, and a splash of color. Heavy contour does not go with the fresh spring or summer looks- cakey heavy super glam makeup in high heat for festival season, pool side, or at the beach is a bit silly ladies c'mon. I think a scent of fresh linen, floral (not too sweet or powdery smelling), or citrus oil would complete the whole package. Grab your hat, sunnies, and the SPF!!
