@remainedpure​ gets a random starter because of last night.

“Absolutely not! Get your hands off those.” She swatted her hands away from the brownies that she had just made. Violet was kind of a baking snob. Plus those were for everyone and Jenna would surely just eat them all. She smirked as she grabbed the nearby spray bottle of water for the plants and spritzed her with it. “Bad Jenna.”

a   sweet   scent   wafts   through   the   air,                           causing   dark   veins   underneath   his   eyes   to   become   prominent.                  and   greens   shift   to   something   darker.            the   feral   beast   that   lays   in   waiting,            peeking   out   at   the   surface.               he   does   not   need   to   continue   forward   to   know   what   he’ll   find:               another   victim   drained   of   blood.         the   news   stations   will   continue   to   blame   a   rabid   animal   that   is   lurking   too   close   to   town,            but   he’s   aware   of   what   beast   he’s   actually   hunting.         

a   young   woman   lays   on   the   ground,            neck   practically   ripped   open,         covered   and   surrounded   by   blood.         the   closer   his   form   draws,      the   more   overwhelming   the   scent   becomes.         there   is         a   deep   burn            forming   at   the   back   of   throat,            a   feeling   as   if   a   creature   claws   at   the   base.            it   only   says   one   thing   to   him:         feed,      feed,      feed.         eyes   flutter   closed   for   a   moment,      focus   turning   onto   gaining   back   control.      slowly,         he   appears   more   human.         veins   disappear   and   fangs   retract   and   eyes   return   to   a   pristine   emerald.                     

now   the   hard   part   was      maintaining         that   control,      while   also   searching   for   clues.      gaze   returns   to   the   victim   as   he   begins   to   bend   down   to   search   for   anything   physical   that   might   have   been   left   behind.      another   stumbles   onto   the   scene,         their   appearance   causing   a   shift   in   the   air.         he   moves   at   supernatural   pace   towards   the   shadows.         watching   and   waiting.         the   hope   was   to   see   the   killer   return,         but   as   she   comes   into   view   he   knows   that   is   not   the   case.            “      jenna?      “                  he   steps   forward,      cautiously,      attempting   not   to   frighten   her.         “      don’t   be   scared.         i   just   found   her   like   this   and   i   was   going   to   call   somebody.      “            a   well   placed   lie.         it   became   natural   over   the   years   after �� spending   so   much   time   covering   up   what   he   is.            “         did   you   know   her?      “

2022 is (finally) almost over! in absence of a list of appreciation last year (oops), i believed it's a nice idea to revive this tradition of mine because year’s end is an excellent time to say thank you. thanks for filling my dash with joy, thanks for writing with me, thanks for sticking with me, thanks for developing amazing plots and ideas with me, and thanks for your patience. i had the pleasure to interact with many of you as well as admire some of you from afar. this also goes to my two other blogs touchedbydestiny & deceptivemorals who some of you also interact with. i love your amazing work and i really love seeing every one of you on my dash, even if we haven’t interacted (yet). ♥

She had always assumed that her mouth would be the cause of her demise in the grand scheme of things. Mystic Falls was a death trap normally. But, once the vampires had become more well known? Well the death rate had risen considerably. Jenna had told her to stop. She had told her not to push her luck. But, Violet was stubborn and aggressive, and she was very assertive when it came to how she felt about things.

The issue with that among the many other issues was that vampires who had chosen to turn off their humanity didn’t have patience for her or her mouth. Sure, maybe Jenna had tried to step in and stop things. But, it was too out of control by that point. Things had happened in a blur and it had been painful to say the least.

Still things felt fuzzy and she wasn’t certain if that was the blood loss from her various wounds or if she truly hadn’t understood what had happened. The next coherent thing she had managed was to look up at Jenna as she laid there on the ground cradled in her arms. She knew she was dying. People always said people knew when they were going to die. It was clear to her that she was on her way out.

“I’m sorry. I should’ve listened more. Been less of a smartass. Less of a pain in the ass in general.” Truthfully, even dying she couldn’t imagine not being any of those things, because to her it seemed like someone else entirely. “Take care of the kids and please don’t cry over me. I’m definitely not worth it. At least you can have all the brownies you want now. No food judge.” It felt hard to focus and even harder to breathe. “I love you.” And then she was gone.
