I got a very sad idea. Is the Gatoraider Megatronus? He’s got a sword scar, Megatronus vanished mysteriously, there’s similarities to Trypticon, and not even Alpha Trion knows what happened to his Twin. I’m likely wrong, but…
youuuuuuuu make me VERY happy anon!!! picking up the bits and pieces i'm throwing out there, good job! keep looking, i have more secrets to hand out
you're incorrect, but you're close, Gatoraider is absolutely related to Megatronus, or perhaps derived from Megatronus, in a similar way to Trypticon. it's sort of a weird relation that's pretty contrived, and almost impossible to put together from an outside perspective, but...
let me put it this way. the Terminus Blade, taken from Megatronus, creates Trypticon out of Bludgeon. who says Bludgeon was the first to ever wield the Terminus Blade and become Trypticon? and what would happen to him if, having served his purpose as a Herald of Unicron and now to be discarded, his relic was taken from him? do you really think he'd survive looking like a normal mech? many of these relics were made from their original users after all, who's to say they don't continue to take? and, Gatoraider is unusually goopy for a metal creature. goopy and dead-ish, which is fitting, like it doesn't even have enough of itself to hold itself together by anything but spite. it looks like an amalgamate of multiple Trypticons, perhaps even dead Trypticons, don't you think? all it's missing is... the sword. the relic itself
