Call Me By Your Name
Wow. It has just been one day since I’ve seen this film and I can’t seem to get it out of my head. The film, directed by Luca Guadagnino, is based in 1983 in northern Italy with a setting of a beautiful countryside in a small rural town of Crema. Interestingly enough, Crema is the city Guadagnino grew up in - perhaps adding that much more detail to his masterpiece. Alas, Call Me By Your Name can most simply and eloquently be described as a true love story. A love story that ventures into sultry lust, first love, coming-of-age and touches on heartbreak.
I want to begin talking about Luca Guadagnino first, not because the actors performances weren’t brilliant, but rather because Guadagnino’s was incredible. I think his brilliance is shown in the most subtle ways. Its these true subtleties that make you forget you’re watching a movie and allow you to connect with the characters on a visceral level. The setting of his home town, a hot humid rural town in Italy paints a beautiful picture; a picture that invokes heat and warms the scenes. This effortlessly and elegantly draws out the sultry subtleties in the film, the small amount of clothing, the constant swimming and reminds you it is based on a hot summer in Italy -- no matter how dead of winter it is now. This introduces the lustful undertone of the film. The lust that manifests itself in meandering throughout Crema and the ongoing flirting. Shirtless scenes, scenes with short shorts are plentiful and effortlessly done; it brings us back to our own summers - of being in summer with nothing to do but bask in the sun. The sultriness of the film is done so effortlessly, you don’t realize when you became in awe of the characters, until you’ve realized you are. It allows you to connect with the characters, to relate. It allows the audience to be attracted to the characters, and witness the actors become attracted to each other. The connection is almost tangible.
But perhaps my favorite thing Guadagnino captured beyond his beautiful home town and a hot summer was his exceptional capture of falling-in-love. This is his stand out, his brilliance. To so flawlessly capture the simplest feeling we express, love is powerful. It is what resonates and lingers long after the film is over. As the film advances, I became inundated in feeling the same love. I left the movie wondering, have I felt the same type of love? Have I ever fell in love or had something that special? I wanted to. Even if it meant I had to rewatch the film to feel the feeling again, I wanted to.
Guadagnino’s brilliance is only matched by the exceptional performances of both Armie Hammer and Timothée Chalamet. Hammer and Chalamet only add to the excellence of Guadagnino in a way that adds layers of feelings that are conveyed by looks, touches and the subtleties they implement.
You meet Elio (Chalamet) as a teenager who although is talented and seems like a prodigy -- plays the guitar and piano wonderfully and transcribes classical music-- is really a coming-of-age young man who will learn how to love. You meet Oliver (Hammer) as a graduate student who is easy on the eyes and has a charisma, albeit seemingly arrogant or confident, that inarguably lights up a room. Although these characters are distinct they come together with their intellect, their appreciation for history (Elio’s father is a professor). Their connection is best highlighted in the subtleties, as in the case with the director. The performance is similarly highlighted in these subtleties; the looks Elio gives Oliver, the gestures Oliver shows Elio, the small romantic dialogue to each other. And in some scenes, its what isn’t said and the music that isn’t played that allows the audience to feel what the actors convey, the raw emotion of falling in love. Elio is the standout for me. He shows the emotion anyone who has had a fling with love would relate to. To relate feeling of lust into love, frustration, heartbreak into resolve is truly nothing short of incredible.
The film’s brief encounter with heartbreak ends with a sense of resolve and appreciation. It is the standout monologue that shapes the film towards the end and allows you to leave without crying your eyes out. A monologue performed by Elio’s father (Michael Stuhlbarg) that consoles Elio, and the audience, that although the romance is finished Elio must allow himself to feel. That just as he felt the love and attraction and happiness of Oliver, he must allow himself to feel the heartbreak and appreciate the entirety of this love. Elio’s father tells him don’t be so quick to want be rid of feelings that make you feel bad and silence them, but he encourages Elio to feel and realize he had something special. This moment was almost parallel to the audience, though the film is nearing its end, and may not have ended as we’d all hoped, appreciate this tale of love, for it is a trajectory. And the ending of this love piece is as important as the beginning of Elio and Oliver’s love, and we must simply appreciate that they had something special. That his film is something special.
And thus, in a span of 130 minutes, Luca Guadagnino, Timothée Chalamet and Armie Hammer have effortlessly shown us how it is to fall in love again, how to desire someone and how to find resolve and appreciation for something special. I’ve walked away this film with one endearing sentiments: They have truly captured a sense of the most raw emotion love.

Espresso is simply not espresso without the creamy foam on top. This particular drink is a highly individual, subjective, and opinionated thing. And like most other serious espresso aficionados, most people have their own opinions. Espresso is also known as the base of many other enjoyable drinks, such as lattes, cappuccinos, macchiatis and mochas. They’re served in many popular establishments such as Starbucks, Peet’s, and many other kinds of coffee shops which offer coffee-derived brewed beverages and snacks.
It is roasted slightly longer than regular coffee beans in order to bring out the rich oils from the bean to the surface. Espresso is usually prepared specifically for, and immediately served to,its actual intended consumer.
To sum up, espresso is basically a strong, concentrated form of coffee. The different types of espresso coffee drinks you consume are based around the combination and amount of ingredients used to accompany the drink.

If you’re keeping your cauliflower intact or serving as a side (in the form of florets or cauliflower steaks), roasting is the best way to cook it. The excess water evaporates in the oven, resulting in a more concentrated, sweeter flavor. The outer layer browns and caramelizes into a crisp, nutty coating, giving way to a soft interior.

Let us impart to you why we adore the almighty cauliflower and how to use this misunderstood vegetable.
What can you do with cauliflower?
The better question might be: What can’t you do with it? Cauliflower is like the LBD (little black dress) of the veggie world. It’s so versatile. You can dress it up or down and take it anywhere. Cauliflower’s mild flavor and sturdy texture hold up well to many preparations. You can roast it, sauté it, steam it, rice it, and purée it.
Once cooked, it can feature in tacos, buffalo-drenched game day grub, or refined dinner party dishes. It can be a side dish, base layer, or centerpiece. Some restaurants even serve the whole head like a roast, front and center (an impressive move to make at home too).

What is the best way to cook cauliflower?
If you’re keeping your cauliflower intact or serving as a side (in the form of florets or cauliflower steaks), roasting is the best way to cook it. The excess water evaporates in the oven, resulting in a more concentrated, sweeter flavor. The outer layer browns and caramelizes into a crisp, nutty coating, giving way to a soft interior.
Many in the Chowhound community agree roasting is best. But you can also steam it, saute it (either the florets or riced cauliflower), or even batter and fry it. See the recipe section below for examples of all of the above, and then some. But don’t forget about pickled cauliflower either!
Is cauliflower good for you?
In a word, yes. Cauliflower is blossoming with antioxidants, fiber, and vitamins B6, C, and K, but is incredibly low in carbs, which makes it a close friend to paleo and keto eaters, as well as gluten-free folks. Are there different kinds of cauliflower?
Yep! Cauliflower comes in more colors than the common white cloud/brain variety: orange, purple, and a spiraled, pointed lime green guise (a.k.a., cheddar cauliflower, graffiti cauliflower, and Romanesco, respectively).

New Menu Items Announced for the 2019 Disney World Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic
It’s REALLY time to start planning your autumn trip to Walt Disney World now! Because not only have the dates been announced for the 2019 Epcot Food and Wine Festival, but new menu items have been revealed for another favorite fall event — the 2019 Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic!
Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic
The 10th Annual Food and Wine Classic will take place on Friday, November 8, and Saturday, November 9, 2019. And the central attraction of the Classic is the more than 40 tasting stations featuring dishes from the resort’s 17 restaurants and lounges as well as more than 30 wineries on the Causeway. Check out the Menus page for an idea of what you can expect!
Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic
We’ve got a full rundown of the 2019 event from the original info release in February. But today, we’re sharing a few new items which have been added to the menus (which you can see in full here)!
New Menu Items
Please note: since the event takes place over two nights, menu selections differ on Friday and Saturday evening at the Tasting Stations.
On Friday evening, be on the lookout for the Barbacoa Beef Taco with ancho Chile braised beef, minced red onion, lime wedge, lime- cilantro and “chimichurri” sauce from Picabu, and a Vegetarian Rice Bowl with roasted vegetables, seasoned sushi rice, and tempura crunch from Cabana Bar and Beach Club.

And on Saturday, guests can look forward to Pan-seared Rock Fish with cotechino, toasted fregola, romanesco with Lambrusco from Todd English’s bluezoo and Vegan Pho with rice noodle, bok choy, carrot, bamboo shoot, hoisin and sriracha from Fresh.

Seared Salmon with caramelized cabbage, sauce soubise, chestnut gnocchi ossolani from Garden Grove and Organic Kabocha Squash Ravioli with pumpkin seed and sage gremolata, pumpkin crema and pecorino from Il Mulino will be among the Saturday evening offerings.
