i think the funniest thing about sk8 was that the entire S community was constantly losing their fucking minds over langa and langa's only thought ever was "ok but what about REKI" like the most obvious instance was in ep10 when adam sees langa being sad and thinks he's nervous about the upcoming beef, whole time he's just not talked to reki in two days

Can y’all stop making it seem as if Reki’s classmates hate him?

Like Reki is not being bullied by his classmates😭😭 they are literally all friends by the few clips we’ve seen! He has and isn’t being bullied or picked on- in fact it seems as if his classmates/friends respect the dude and thinks he’s cool. Both with skating and drawing. They are amused by him.

And just because Langa is seen as a prince doesn’t mean their classmates are treating Reki the way some of the skaters at S did- they don’t see Reki as a nobody or a loser💀💀

And even though there was a scene where the boys were playing football and Reki was being teased for not being as good as Langa or whatever the classmate said- that’s not bullying or unusual for guys to do.. guy friendship consists of teasing each other. And especially when you are close, which in this case they must be as they are classmates and probabaly have been for years. It’s clear that Reki’s classmates are Reki’s friends too, they all probably grew up together.

Yk what I’m going to go as far as to say that he’s popular.

So anyways, just wanted people to stop treating Reki as a bully victim and Langa as his saviour 💀 it’s annoying as Reki is a well liked “person” to everyone in the anime.. please stop treating him as a friendless loser 😭 thank you😭

internet loves ships, fandoms love ships i know most people doesn't agree how i view Reki's relationship with Langa

I see it as a pure friendship, a very close one. Which i call soulmates, even. It's something i relate to.

(Im writing this for myself and others who relate to my expreience with friendships, please dont attack)

Reki sees the world through skate, he doesn't have anyone to talk about it at school, finding Langa is like finding your person. I remember getting emo when i watched him and Langa watching videos togather, talk about skate, skate togather. he has a big admiration for Langa, too. Like I felt that close to someone, I felt that admiration too. I draw, and one of my friends is reaally talented. How i feel towards them is what i see when i see reki with langa's skills. The excitement to see those tricks, it's very familier.

In spin off manga it says the thing Reki most want is, friends who'd skate with him.

When Reki was little he had only one close friend,, if i remember correctly. And he lost him,,he was not as close when hr stopped skating. Think about it. When you grow up like this you get more attached to close people. Someone you can talk to? Now it's like your other part,, if you click,, because you never learned the normal level of attachment. This part is more of my interpretion of him but that's a thing too. But i think mostly they are that close because of just being soulmates.

Langa is also very focused on skating. He was snowboarding since he was little, +he has some level of attachment because of his dad too, +he is very skilled. So he is like someone Reki would look up to, and can share the same level of interest in skating, also he doesmt have a friend. ALSO not related but Langa is from somewhere very cold and he is blue and calm and Reki is from somewhere that is soo hot and he is red and he is energetic,, it s the best dynamic

For season 2 of sk8, I really hope they don’t make Reki technically good at skateboarding like the other characters are (i.e. Langa). The conclusion of his character arc was literally “I may not be the best but I still love doing this” and I think that is such a beautiful message

If anything, I want further exploration of his skills of making boards because he might not be the best technically but he can definitely be the best creatively and that’s what my boy deserves

I can not begin to explain how much of a Reki Kinnie I am. It's almost embarrassing. I think it's the part where he'll never be the best. No matter how much he tries, he'll always watch the people he loves jump ahead of him. He'll always feel that burning jealously but also that dark self-hatred for even being jealous because he should be happy. He should be cheering everyone else on because their happy but he can't. He want so desperately for everyone or just anyone to see him, to notice that he's even there, that he's growing too. I'm not sure what this means about me but you guys can glean whatever you want from it.
