Anyway... I have no words because this fic is just plain perfection from Ushijima mentoring Iwaizumi to the intense court trials to iwaoi trying to figure out their feelings out of court to matsukawa being a hilarious friend so please read this it’ll make your life better :)

Behind That Locked Door by SillyMango (TDBK, WIP) - Domestic Future TodoBaku is chicken soup for my soul and I love them having silly arguments about the most mundane things that screams of a love too big to fit into their emotionally constipated hearts. 

hope is the promise of future happiness by redrobin1989 (TDDK, one-shot)- Middle School era Izuku gets a glimpse of his future - and it looks good.

step two: take his hand by brioche (TDBK, one-shot) - like I don’t know how there aren’t more fics set during the Endeavor internship arc, it’s such a good backdrop. Anyway, in this one, Shouto learns how to fly from Bakugou (and god I really hope that this happened). 

lights up and they know who you are by futurehearts (KRBK, oneshot) - I love Teacher!Bakugou, because you just know he’d be great at it. This is a story of him going back to UA faculty. 

Get Mad! by AnonymousTwit (Gen, Bakugou & Eri) - I don’t think they ever interacted in canon, but Bakugou and Eri can be an interesting combo exploring themes like trauma and survivor’s guilt. And this fic does that really well.

collector's edition by achievingelysium (gen, class1a & midoriya) - I never get tired of fanboy!pro-hero Deku. And this is a pretty cool take where his classmates turn the table on him. 

We're Not by Bideroo (TDBK, one-shot) - yes, yes, I’m going to recommend every single fic where TDBK are dating without realizing it. It’s a great trope and I’ll never get tired of it. 

Nonlinear by rekamohcs (BKDK, oneshot) - I’ve been looking at this fic for a long time before diving in, because the subject-matter hit a bit close. It’s about Bakugou losing his mom, Deku being a good friend, and them getting close as they navigate grief. It’s an extremely good depiction of what it is like to lose a loved one out of the blue, of getting emotional support, of feeling like things will never get better, but they eventually do.

The phone call comes on a Thursday.

Katsuki has Thursdays off. He had been in the shower and missed the call, so he puts his Voicemail on speaker to hear the message as he cuts vegetables for the curry he’s making for dinner.

  Hello, Mr. Katsuki Bakugou. This is Shiro Takayama from Musutafu Hospital North. I’m the social worker assigned to the case of your mother, Mitsuki Bakugou. She has been placed in intensive care as of 10:43AM this morning. You are her second emergency contact after Masaru Bakugou, so we wanted to reach out to you.  Katsuki stares at the phone as if it has suddenly turned into a monkey with three heads. “What the fuck?”

What is love?

The delicate flutter of nerves gnawing at your belly on a first date. Sweaty palms, shy smiles, warm skin, soft kisses. Stealing fries from his plate at dinner, laughing when he swats your hand away. Offering the cherry on top of your milkshake as penance (he hates cherries – that’s why you offer).

Quiet whispers at midnight, stolen touches under tables. Inside jokes. Outside ones. Stealing the blankets and pressing your cold nose into his warm neck, smiling against skin. Listening to his ideas as they tumble out from between his lips, clawing their way into existence. Giving input when you can and support in the form of hot tea placed on his desk at 2am when he’s still at the drawing board. You end falling asleep alone that night.

Tears at 3pm when he hasn’t slept in two days and you have three meetings in the next hours. He snaps; you do, too. Making up the old-fashioned way – with tough conversations, hard discussions that build and break down walls simultaneously. Picking out a cat together (he’d rather have a dog, but he knows you’re both too busy for that right now) six months after you move in together (he loves that cat even though he won’t admit it). Planting a vegetable garden that dies in two months and crying at your dad’s funeral that comes too soon.

Perhaps love is all of these things. Perhaps it is none.

Maybe it’s giving the man on the street corner the lunch you had packed for yourself on Tuesday. Maybe it’s putting bird food out for the squirrels and picking up the can on the sidewalk after your evening run. Maybe it’s encouraging someone to drink water or offering your time even though you don’t really have any to spare. Maybe it’s simply existing, giving what you can without expecting anything in return.

Perhaps love is like a god – we may never know who it is, may never see its tangible form or understand it completely.

Perhaps we don’t have to.

Perhaps love is all-consuming, inclusive, and gilded into the fabric of every seam that holds this universe together.

What is love? 

(It is the center of your soul, and his, and theirs. The pillow on your bed and the wind that caresses your hair in Autumn. The light through the leaves when you’ve been lost in the forest so long that you can’t see the trees. It is you on your best days and you on your worst. It is every god that may or may not exist. It is us, and above all, it is inevitable.)
