i want to move you away from the mantle place
away from the front of my mind and into the attic where our memories will be reiviewed maybe once every few years. they'll still taste like honey, but with a bitter aftertaste from the dust that has formed through time
but i cant. youre picture frame is way too big to be stored away, way too important to me. the best i can do for now is hang it above the staircase. not in the way, but prominent enough to see you throughout my day. i see you when i go downstairs for breakfast, and place a kiss from my fingers to your picture as i climb back upstairs into bed.
you are not my last thought though, because you have never been placed on my bedside table. i never felt the need to keep you there, in the most intimate depths of my mind. i kept you on the mantle place to show you off to everyone who steps into my home. maybe that was my mistake.
maybe through the years ill gather the courage to put your frame in the attic and fill up the empty space you left with new frame, another person whom i will love dearly
but for now youre hanging above the staircase. ill move you up step by step, you'll be in my attic soon. no longer in the front of my mind, but forever in my home, forever important to me; and hopefully, forever in the attic.

Dupe Alert!! Smashbox Minimize Pores Primer
Tumblr media
Price: smashbox $50 30mL vs.  innisfree $15 25mL
I recently received the innisfree no sebum blur primer in the mail! I’ve been looking forward to this for a bit as I’ve been missing a primer and (as always) want to try out new products.
Tumblr media
It disappears into the skin just like smashbox and is a much more affordable alternative. They both have a putty like consistency. I honestly think the innisfree one is easier to work with as it melts into the skin faster. It has some resemblance to the I bought it from chuusi but it’s also available on YesStyle and iHerb.
Wearing this primer alone also offers a nice blur in the skin for a no-makeup look.
The no sebum blur primer is slightly drier than the smashbox primer but it isn’t drying- it’s better described as less hydrating and better for oily skin.
ya kk bai guys

Minecraft Review
A game as old as my Puberty spike, Minecraft is a sandbox game that focus on simplifying a world full of complexities. It use’s an easy to follow blocky format that at first glance seems like it restricts the visuals, but ultimately can create masterpieces, not only is this game appealing to the architectural type but also too those who enjoy competitive PvP and those with a mathematical mindset. The game was Invented By Mojang, in 2011 and the game has only gotten better when Microsoft bought them out. other games made by Mojang consist of Minecraft Story Mode, Minecraft Dungeons and Minecraft Earth. Personally I like playing Minecraft as it is a social game that rewards Communication and teamwork. Some fans of Minecraft described it within a few words. Immersive, never ending, infinite potential, green. Here are all the reasons they are wrong. Minecraft is not immersive because its on a screen. If you beat the ender dragon it technically ends, Infinite is a very heavy word to use, and as for green, that one might be true of the game.

SUMMER MOVIE SEASON REVIEW (2020) --- There weren't a lot of movies this season and I still missed many of the VOD releases. The Streaming Wars have resulted in too many Platforms from Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, HBO Max, Shutter, Apple TV+, Peacock, etc that my bank account just cannot afford all of these subscriptions. But for what I did manage to watch this Summer - this is my Summer Review. #microreview #reiview #lists #blockbusters #movies #film #cinama #vod #streaming #theater https://www.instagram.com/p/CE41JonhkQp/?igshid=1294hpyvozxzg

The Batman (2022) spoiler review time! You’ve been warned, this is filled to the brim with spoilers, but here is my spoiler free review.
Right off the bat (no pun intended), I want to give recognition to the cinematography in the movie. There were so many notable scenes and sequences, that it’s hard for me to pick out some of the best, but I’ll pick out what I remember the most. The entire car chase sequence with Penguin, especially the shots of Batman walking towards Penguin in his flipped over car, the fire behind Batman as he closes in like a shadow sent chills down my spine. The shot at the end of Batman holding the bright red flare, leading citizens out of the flooded area - him literally being a beacon of light in darkness. Even smaller things like the tracking shots behind Bruce’s head as he rides his motorcycle are just done with so much care.
Next, the acting. Every single person was acting their ass off. Robert Pattinson manages to really convey so much through just his facial expressions (particularly his eyes) and is a perfect young, inexperienced, Bruce Wayne. Paul Dano was such a terrifying Riddler, you can definitely see the Zodiac Killer inspiration in the use of ciphers and riddles and there’s some humor to them, despite the movie being very dark. Another standout was Colin Farrell’s Penguin. I literally couldn’t recognize it was him, he blended so seamlessly into the role. I look forward to seeing more of him.
General thoughts, I like the direction of showing us a less experienced Batman, sort of trying to still figure out who he is or what he has to be for Gotham. We already know two more films are in the works, so we’ll get to see him become fully realized over the course of those. The film managed to keep me on the edge of my seat the entire time, which is impressive given the almost 3 hour runtime. Michael Giacchino’s score is absolutely amazing, especially the main musical motif which is so foreboding and haunting (the track titles are also such  gems, please go look up the album).
No cap when I say that this might be my favorite Batman movie and my favorite iteration of Batman in the past few years. And I’m sort of glad that this Batman is in his own separate pocket since the DCEU is shaky right now. At least we don’t have to worry about heavy studio interference (hopefully).

So, The School for Good and Evil Movie
Verdict: Good movie, not so great adaption. 6.5/10. I’d recommend it if you’re curious, but if you are a fan of the books (like me) you should turn your brain off for maximum enjoyment.
If you haven’t seen the movie or read any of the books I suggest you turn back now because spoilers are up ahead.
By itself, the movie stands well on its own. The pacing is good, the story is fine, and the characters and characterization is decent. The movie still has that same cringe-inducing charm of the book (if you’ve read the book you will know). Sure, some characters could’ve used more time to establish themselves so that they aren’t shallow, like Tedros, Beatrix and her princess friend group, and the Coven but I will forgive it as the movie only has 2 hours and 28 minutes to establish everything while the books have 560 pages. Plus, this story is about Sophie and Agatha primarily.
And speaking of Sophie and Agatha...
They’ve completely changed the whole relationship and dynamic of the two. In the books, Sophie was only nice to Agatha as her pet project to add to her list of good deeds and Agatha only tolerated her because Sophie was the only one who showed some care to her besides her mom and cat. In the movie, these girls are considered the outcasts of the town and just kinda own it together. And while I do not mind this change, I find their friendship quite cute.
But it now makes even less sense in the movie as to why Sophie and Agatha were placed in their respective schools.
In the books, Sophie is vain, conceited, and self-centered. She’s only nice just to look good. Her persona is completely fake. This is only a front so that way it increases her chances of being placed in the School for Good, even outright admitting this to Agatha. That way, it makes sense as to why the switch happened. After all, is someone really good if they’re only being good just to make themselves look better?
Sophie in the movie is just...nice. She comes off as “a barbie girl living in a barbie world” kind of gal. Like, okay, I understand you want your protagonists to be likeable, but since they stripped Sophie of her selfishness, it makes the whole “these girls are in the wrong school” plot point make even less sense now as mentioned previously.
Not only that, without her vanity, the moment where she willingly becomes evil has less of an impact now. In the book and movie, the turning point for Sophie is when she got her hair forcibly cut off. In the book, this kinda breaks Sophie where she’s no longer playing around, she’s gonna get what she wants and do what she wants (henceforth, the F is for Fabulous sequence from the book). In the movie, she kinda just mopes around after the deed is done and Rafal now enters the picture for Sophie to begin to sink his claws into her. They have to get the villain, who, in the books I may add, doesn’t start playing a major role until books 2 and 3, to influence Sophie to become evil. The scene just comes off as that “Oh no! Anyways...” meme.
I don’t know how to segway into the general talk of how the movie adapted the book’s events outside of what they did to the characters, so I guess I’ll start talking about it here.
I guess this is as good as a time as ever to discuss the villain. In the book 1 iirc, his only role is to tell Agatha and Sophie to prove his decision wrong and he’ll return both girls home and then doesn’t do anything else. Sophie just plays against herself and turn evil. Again, as previously mentioned, he only becomes an antagonistic force in books 2 and 3. But here, they gave him a bigger role and moved his manipulating Sophie and giving her power plot point from book 3 to this movie. I guess it’s because they wanted a conflict that would result in a major climatic battle at the end? I thought the whole interpersonal drama of the conflicting goals of these girls was enough drama on its own but the movie doesn’t share the same sentiment I guess.
They changed the whole introduction and even the worldbuilding reader world. Outside of including the duel between the two brothers and the change to Agatha’s and Sophie’s relationship, the reader world has no clue about The School for Good and Evil outside of the bookstore lady. And what from the movie says, outside of Leonora (we will get to her in a bit), Agatha, and Sophie, no one else has been kidnapped which is vastly different from the “every four years two kids get kidnapped from this village who turn up later in fairy tales” lore that the book takes out. They also remove any other characterization of the village besides “everyone is a jerk except for Sophie, Agatha, and Agatha’s mom”.
After the girls get kidnapped and dropped off at their schools, it proceeds normally besides cutting a bunch of book events, like the Circus of Talent, F is for Fabulous, the actual Trial by Tale, and THE MIRROR SCENE.
YOU KNOW. THE PEAK OF AGATHA’S CHARACTER. HER MOST IMPORTANT SCENE. OF ALL THE SCENES THEY HAD TO CUT IT HAD TO BE THIS ONE.
Gregory, an original character for the movie, is a nice edition. I’ve only had him for a few minutes and I will do anything for this boy. And a few minutes is all I had for him because they turned him into a stymph and killed him off. This makes Agatha question the real morality of the two schools, seeing the fate of failed students, which I think is a nice touch to the movie.
They also had Rafal be more involved, directly influencing Sophie to be evil and cut a lot of the antics Sophie did to get Tedors’ attention. But, they also added one more unwelcome edition.
They made Leonara Lesso the reader who got kidnapped and have her be in love with Rafal. She was an evil reader who failed Rafal, making him seek out Sophie, They decided to merge her and Evelyn Sader together. LIKE WHY. This change makes the LEAST amount of sense besides further connecting Rafal to the plot and the girls!
Okay, after that gripe is out of the way, the ending. The ending’s fine. Rafal gives Sophie access to his blood magic. The school for good and evil begin to fight and swap places in terms of morality since the Good attacked and the Evil defended. Sophie and Rafal kiss and when all is loss Tedros and Agatha come in to save Sophie. Sophie takes a hit for Agatha and Agatha slays Rafal using Excalibur. At this point I was mentally checked out so I thought it was fine.
And yes, before anyone asks, they included the kiss scene between the two girls.
After that, the girls return home and the status quo is restored. Good and Evil are now supposedly friends. Happily ever after for these two obviously platonic girls.
But, the ending implies the next book, A World Without Princes, will be adapted in the future and I just let out a sigh. I kinda wished this movie was a one and done deal given my thoughts overall with this movie. And, because of this sequel tease, Rafal will inevitably come back.
Overall, this movie was a fun and nice watch, especially as a fan of the book series since I was in high school. I’m glad the movie was made and I could watch it, even though it was a letdown. I will say, those who like making mood boards and enjoy a fairy tale aesthetic in general, you will eat this movie up because the outfits and environment are FIRE.
Ok my rant is done I’m going to bed byeeeeeee.

Florence Foster Jenkins
Tumblr media
So ... Florence Foster Jenkins (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4136084/?ref_=nv_sr_2) coming in with an IMDB rating of 6,9 and a Redeemer Rating of 7,4. Based on a true story. Those are words that immediately put a movie into a separate grading category, at least for me. Cause then I immediately have to weigh in how cool the true story is. Then I also have to take into account how much of the movie is reality and if the changes made in the movie were valid ones. Sometimes directors will needlessly embellish an already fantastic story, and that will of course make me be more critical of that movie. Sometimes the actual story is so boring that I can't understand why a movie would ever be made. This movie, according to my, all be it brief, research, is one that walks the line really well. There is not too much added here, the story is a super intriguing one and the performances are really nice.
The plot. Well this is going to be really short. In the very early parts of the twentieth century lived a lady with an abundance of money, a love of music and singing  .. but unfortunately she has a simply terrible singing voice. But her closest friends keep her suspended in a bubble, and in this bubble she believes that she has one of the greatest voices in the world. The movie focuses on the period in her life that leads to the bubble bursting.
The movie. Well, Meryl Streep is simply amazing. By far one of the greatest actresses that we have and she brings another fantastic performance to the screen in this movie. But that was to be expected. I expect Streep to be amazing in whatever she does. What I did not expect was for Hugh Grant to play against type to much. Our classically bumbling super rom-com man usually has only one way to play every role he does. And he got famous for doing it. But the fact of the matter is that when he plays against type you can see some of the real quality that exists within Hugh Grant. He brings a great character to the screen who is driven to make this woman happy by doing some seriously morally questionable things. And on that note, lets move on from discussing the cast and moving on to the actual movie. This story is just amazing. On the surface it is a fascinating biopic about a really intriguing person. But that is not all that the movie does for us. Whether it does it on purpose or not, it really raises some good points about whether what Jenkins’s friends are doing for her is actually nice. Would it have been ok if the bubbly never burst? Is it ok cause they are trying to keep her happy? I mean, when the bubble does burst you can really see Jenkins’s world crumble. And that is heartbreaking. Those scenes are fantastically played. At the same time the movie also brings these emotions to the screen. Just fascinating. I am impressed by the story, the cast and the depth of layers that this movie has.
The demeaning factor. I think the parts of the story that were not centered in reality, including a character who plays a rather pivotal part in a pivotal scene. I don’t want to give to much away here, so I will leave it at that.
This was an amazing movie. Great performances by the main cast. Fantastically shot. Interesting story. Sure there are parts that drag a bit slowly. Sure there are some embellishments and changes to reality. But this story is super interesting and brought to screen with an amazing sensibility. I highly recommend this movie for watching.
