Vitamin C Hautpflege
How does vitamin C work? Vitamin C, auch als Ascorbinsäure bezeichnet, ist in vielen Lebensmitteln und Nahrungsergänzungsmitteln enthalten. Es muss jedoch nicht unbedingt mit der Nahrung aufgenommen werden, um eine positive Wirkung auf den Körper zu haben: Äußerlich angewendetes Vitamin C hat eine lange Tradition in der Unterstützung gesunder Haut. Welche Auswirkungen hat Vitamin C auf die Haut? Vitamin C is crucial, says Christopher Corinthian, a chemist working on development for Avon. Free radicals, which this potent antioxidant combats, are what cause ageing. For instance, air pollution may be to blame. According to Nicolas Travis, a skincare expert and the founder of Allies of Skin, these environmental variables promote inflammation, which is thought to be the root of a number of skin issues, such as acne, a lack of collagen, and excessive melanin production.

Five Times Arjuna Surprised Subhadra
For @ekdesichokari! Thank you!
1) Subhadra has seen her share of sages, but none who bear the scars of bowstrings, or who stiffen so at the slightest hint of danger.
(Truth be told, she always expected that the great Arjuna would repay her brother’s many visits to Indraprastha, but not quite in such a laughable disguise.)
2) “Never tell me,” cries Subhadra, not a little insulted, “that you kept silent so long because you supposed I ever wished to marry Duryodhana?”
By way of apology, Arjuna wordlessly passes her the reins of the chariot.
3) Warriors hold their secrets close, guarding them as jealously as any jewel; and so Subhadra does not expect Arjuna to indulge her when she teasingly asks him to explain just what Acharya Drona taught him and him alone all those years ago.
(She learns to regret it soon enough; who knew her husband could drone on about battlefield formations for quite so long?)
4) Not for the whole world would Subhadra wish to be Empress rather than youngest wife of a middle-born prince; for one, her poor sister Draupadi cannot possibly disappear all afternoon on a picnic as Arjuna and Subhadra so often do.
5) “Brihannala?” Subhadra repeats through peals of laughter. “The mighty archer spent an entire year playing musical instruments and teaching dance?”
“It is not so different,” Arjuna points out. “A string is still a string, whether I mean to make music or shed blood by plucking it.”
“Still,” says Subhadra, “still.” It is not funny, not funny at all, but she knows already that in the days to come, the war will bring an end to all she knows. If she does not laugh, she shall weep.
“Still,” agrees Arjuna, more gently than she expects.

When the Silence Breaks: More Blood Soaks the Soil
Spark
We all sat in silence for breakfast.
Shen Po was the first to break it. "My...nightmare the other night," he begins, "I didn't know it then, but it was of Zyon's...death." He doesn't make eye contact with anyone.
We decide that it's probably best to make a quick return to Ulaanbaatar and Carnassa. We return Zyon's horse to the stable. The stablemaster gives a somber look and nods to us. We set out.
Shen Po shakes me awake the fourth night of travel after setting off. "Quick," he says, "there's a light heading our way."
I grab my weapons and head out of my tent, wary. I look at the horizon and see the light Shen Po was talking about. As it approaches, I tilt my head. It's a Nightmare, a flaming horse, coming closer and closer. It stops about thirty feet in front of Shen Po. I see the beast has a saddle, but no rider.
Shen Po approaches the Nightmare cautiously. "Someone grab some of our horse feed," he says while keeping his eyes on it.
As Spark moves to grab the feed, I notice the Nightmare shake its head.
Shen Po blinks. "You understand Common?" The Nightmare nods. "Is there something we can do for you?" Shen Po asks.
The Nightmare trots up next to Shen Po, turning its saddle towards him. I look around at everyone else, bewildered. Shen Po tentatively grabs the reins, but it doesn't seem to want that.
After much exasperation of not understanding what the Nightmare wants, we finally spot blood on its saddle. Shen Po asks if it can lead us to its rider, which is what the blood belongs to. It nods its head, and then walks off a short distance and goes to sleep.
We wake, break camp, mount up and let the Nightmare lead the way, heading southeast. Shortly after noon, it stops, rears, and then suddenly disappears. Our horses slow down and in front of us are several bodies lying around the field.
Shen Po dismounts and approaches a nearby corpse to inspect it. I make no move to get an closer. Groups of corpses lying around only bring the thought of sickness to my mind. Sure enough, I can hear Shen Po call out "Everyone cover your mouths!", and Feng Da comes marching straight out of the area.
I watch as Shen Po, Wen, and Arslan inspect the field. Shen Po reaches down to a figure and peels off its helmet, a few other items from the front of its body, and something from its hand. Suddenly, all the bodies on the ground jerk up to a standing position. A pool of blood from the body Shen Po was inspecting congeals and rises in a serpentine movement.
"Ardenti harenae!" In a panic, I whip out my saber and move forward. I stop short, surprised at my subconscious fluid movement. Years of practice must have kicked in. I didn't hesitate long before I assumed a defensive stance.
Shen Po quickly forms a magic sigil in the air with his hands and all the risen dead turn away from him. I take a slash at one as it approaches me, but it doesn't stop. From behind me, Feng Da throws an ax and decapitates it.
I turn my attention to Arslan and Wen, but as the undead flee, they crumple and become motionless. I hear Shen Po exclaim, and I see the blood fiend reforming and Shen Po covered in a layer of blood.
I make my way to him, but Arslan beats me there, stepping out of mists right near Shen Po. Wen fires a glob of light directly at the blood monster and Arslan's sword materializes as he swings. Shen Po takes a step back, quickly motioning a sigil, and silver flames combust the blood fiend into nothingness.
We clean up and take a quick breather. I examine the items Shen Po pulled off the corpse's body. The helmet was ornate, shaped in such a way to look intimidating. The other items look similar to insignia, but nothing like any badge of office I've seen. Arslan cleans and strips the armor off of the body, and stops to pull a simple silver ring from its ring finger. I look away.
"I am dying. The blood plague has claimed everyone. I was not the first to be infected, but I will be the last to die. I am among the lucky to still have my wits about me; the horses told me so. Many of my men were not so fortunate. Some had it worse. They bit at throats and clawed at eyes, for the madness was pervasive. It is unreal that this is how the Horselords end. Perhaps they are better off dead. Perhaps we all are."
Everyone is silent for a minute. Well, I think to myself, one Horselord down, two to go.
We head southeast, the direction this group of dead riders had come from. Days pass with nothingness abound. Same rocks. Same grass. Same persistent wind. I was almost relieved when a large bird-like creature came spiraling out of the sky. I was less relieved as I realize it's heading straight for me.
I hastily dismount and focus my thoughts. "Viske!" I let out my magic in a harsh whisper. The vulture and human hybrid reels away from me, but quickly comes back at Arslan. Thankfully, he was ready for the attack and the monster's beak glances off Arslan's half plate. Spark pulls out the hourglass found in the cave to East, flips it over, runs and smacks the creature with her quarterstaff, and instantly appears back where she was. Arslan and I attack, my steps light and quick, but it leaps back and our strikes fall short. The creature opens its beak and an earsplitting screech rends the air. I try to cover my ears. I hear a yell from Arslan and a grunt from someone else. The pain drives me to my knees.
The beast flies over me. "No!" but the shout doesn't make it out of my mouth. I struggle to stand, my ears still ringing. As I finally get all the way back up and turn around, I see Wen throw a bolt of silver magic at the beast. As soon as it connects, the monster vanishes, covered in silver light.
It takes three more days until we see buildings appear on the horizon. As we approach, we see more and more buildings come into view. Soon, dozens of stone buildings are all around us, and nothing but the buildings. The silence is eerie and unnerving. A second look at the stonework shows a red tinge to the bricks, darker near the earth. I glance at the party, who also seem to have noticed, worried and slightly frightened looks on their faces. Shen Po raises his gauntleted hand and after a moment of concentration says, "This place is diseased. The entire town is just...radiating disease."
We investigate the town but don't find much. The apothecary's building was so noxious on the inside that we couldn't keep the door open. At least the town temple, dedicated to Acharya, was of interest to Feng Da. He takes a trinket, which looks like a hurricane viewed from above. I wonder if anyone in the group besides myself has seen such a terrifyingly beautiful sight.
Dusk arrives and we find the inn. Spark and Feng Da begin the watches since we don't feel comfortable in this ghost town. Shen Po wakes me for my watch with Arslan and informs us that a red mist had settled over the town. It was unnerving seeing this blood-red haze swirling in the darkness of the silent town.
The red mist dissipates as the sun rises, and we head toward the last section of town we haven't checked. A larger building appears to be a sort of town hall. Inside, there are vases full of blood-soaked dirt and stacks of paperwork nearly dripping with blood. I can't help but be on edge. By the sun's heat, what happened here?
The town hall building doesn't hold any answers for us. We move to check the last building left; a large three-story building on the outskirts of the town. Our steps slow as we get closer and closer to the building. The windows are smashed, seemingly from the inside, and there's blood everywhere. Blood on the glass and ground. Dried blood down the walls. The stone building itself is tinged red. I freeze in place when I see a bloody mass of bones and intestines lying in front of the door, remains of an arm reaching up and a mangled hand still gripping the door handle.
We are all silent and still, some mouths agape. I jump a little when a soul-wrenching gurgle emerges from the pile of tissues in front of the door. Wen quickly throws an orb of fire and it incinerates what's left of the poor person. A chill runs down my spine as we peer in through the broken windows.

By Anirban NagAnother interest rate hike is on the cards in India as the central bank tries to rein in inflation and shore up Asia’s weakest major currency. The Reserve Bank of India will probably increase the repurchase rate by 25 basis points to a two-year high of 6.5 percent on Wednesday, according to 39 of the 52 economists in a Bloomberg survey, with the rest expecting no change.A rate move will follow June’s surprise 25 basis-point hike, when the RBI tightened policy for the first time since 2014, following counterparts in Indonesia and the Philippines in stepping up action to counter an emerging-market rout triggered by higher U.S. rates and a stronger dollar. The rupee is down almost 7 percent against the dollar this year. The RBI will announce its decision at 2:30 p.m. in Mumbai followed by a press conference 15 minutes later. Here is what to watch out for in the statement:Sticky CoreInflation has been accelerating sharply this year, reaching 5 percent in June, on the back of a weak rupee and higher oil, India’s biggest import item. With the government offering higher prices to buy some crops from farmers, price pressures are expected to strengthen in the second half of the fiscal year. The RBI -- which in June projected inflation of 4.7 percent in the second half -- has a mandate to keep it at the 4 percent midpoint of its target band in the medium term. 65222318 As the economy strengthens, there are signs that demand pressures are stoking inflation. Core-price growth -- which strips out volatile food, fuel and light prices -- has been sticky at a four-year high of more than 6 percent.“Considering that demand-pull pressures on inflation are gaining traction, even as cost-push pressures from higher oil prices remain elevated, and that growth recovery may now be gaining momentum on improving demand, another rate hike of 25 basis points, is our base case scenario,” said Gaurav Kapur, chief economist at IndusInd Bank Ltd. in Mumbai.Pipeline prices indicate inflation will remain under pressure. Wholesale prices quickened to 5.77 percent in June, the highest since December 2013, while the RBI expects higher input prices to be passed on to consumers.Food PricesThe government recently increased the minimum support prices for summer crops, which UBS Group AG estimates will boost the inflation rate between 35-70 basis points, depending on the procurement policy. Added to that is the risk of a shortfall in monsoon rains, which could boost food costs further. 65222327 What Our Economists Say...The consensus forecast is for the Reserve Bank of India to raise rates again at its August review to contain inflation. We think it’s already done enough, and expect it to hold. Risks to growth are increasing, and inflation is probably on a downward trajectory after peaking in June. With borrowing costs already on the rise, additional tightening would amplify the debt burden for businesses and inflict more damage on public banks’ balance sheets -- aggravating growth concerns.-- Abhishek Gupta, Bloomberg EconomicsStrong GrowthThe RBI is reasonably confident that the economy is rebounding from the twin shocks of a cash ban in 2016 and the chaotic implementation of a consumption tax in 2017. It expects the output gap to narrow in the coming months, which in turn will drive inflation higher.High frequency indicators from purchasing managers’ surveys to auto sales data show the economy is likely to grow above 7 percent. 65222338 “With GST-related temporary disruption largely behind us, growth in the non-farm economy is picking up,” IndusInd Bank’s Kapur said. “First-quarter corporate earnings data is also indicating a revival in consumption.”Shifting StanceTraders are watching closely if the central bank shifts its stance to hawkish from neutral, a signal of more policy tightening in the months ahead. That would hit bonds in a market where 10-year yields surged above 8 percent in June for the first time in three years. It’s unclear how policy makers will vote this time around after June’s unanimous decision. The spotlight will be on Governor Urjit Patel, who heads the six-member monetary policy committee and has a casting vote. Viral Acharya, the deputy governor in charge of monetary policy, and Michael Patra, who heads the RBI’s research department, could vote for more tightening.Of the three external members, Chetan Ghate, tends to have a balanced view, while management professor Ravindra Dholakia is a dove and economist Pami Dua usually votes with the majority. 65196383 65195157 65191971 from The Economic Times https://ift.tt/2Oyj3Qv

Opinion: BJP's catchlines which helped to win Gujarat elections
As voting for the final phase of Gujarat assembly ends today, a look back at how the motif of Modi’s campaign rhetoric has evolved.
2002: Aggressive BJP harvests polarisation
Gujarat has been called a laboratory after Narendra Modi was sent from Delhi to take over the reins of the state. During the 2002 campaign, Modi and BJP had a simple job. The polarisation after the communal riots ensured all they had to do was to harvest the communal rift. The Congress, at that time the opposition party in the centre as well as the state, was clueless. It probably thought that to speak on justice for Muslims will impact their poll prospects. Six months after the riots broke happened the Akshardham terror attack, which took place just before the polls, ensured that Modi made it a Mia Musharraf vs Modi theme for the campaign that BJP won handsomely.
Also read: Opinion: Lanka, vikas, seaplanes and pesticides - The curious case of Hardik Patel
2007: CM Modi firmly at the helm, Congress tries to get aggressive
Buoyed by its 2004 Loksabha victory and winning 12 seats in the state, Congress took CM Modi head on. By this time, Mr Modi had already been established as the supreme leader of Gujarat, leaving behind, among others, Keshubhai Patel and Suresh Mehta. As riot victims were still waiting for justice, polarisation continued unabated. Since the Congress government was at the centre, it became Modi’s prime target.
Congress, in turn, did what it could not dare in 2002, called Modi Maut ka Saudagar (merchant of death) suggesting his direct role in riots. This backfired big time. BJP made it Gujarati Pride versus Congress rule of Sonia and Ahmed Mia. BJP’s tally came down by 10 but it won the state.
2012: ‘Gujarat Model’ emerges as social media booms, Congress reels under graft charges
2012 was PM Modi’s last election as CM. The BJP had surged ahead by its clever use of new social media tools like the Facebook and Twitter. It boosted the ‘unique Gujarat Model’ — sometimes truthfully and other times not. But Gujarat, development and Modi became synonymous terms even as Congress suffered huge image crisis during the Anna Hazare agitation of 2011-12.
Also read: Opinion: Gujarat elections, a litmus test for Rahul
Now Mr Modi needed no Praveen Togadiya or Acharya Dharmendra to serve as development planks. It soon became evident that Chief Minister Modi has the potential to be India's prime minister. Despite the party having 40 per cent vote, the Congress was unable to compete and lost to BJP again.
2017 ‘Gujarat Model’ goes on back burner and Pakistan returns
A 15-year rule under one leader is really a long time in politics. What worked in 2012 is looking doubtful as crowd size at Modi rally was shrinking. By now, the BJP was no longer the exclusive player in the social media nor the biggest crowd puller. Opponents had taken a leaf out of BJP’s books, including the Patidars.
The disgruntled youth flocking Hardik Patel and Jignesh Mewani’s rallies were probably 6-10 year old during 2002-2007 but have been denied decent primary education; Gujarat ranks 33 among 35 states in terms of providing access to schools. Anti-incumbency ensured that basic issues, such as primary education, infant mortality, unemployment started factoring in.
Once the backbone of the party, Patels had turned into BJP’s staunch baiters. With the presence of 15 per cent or more in most seats - they have potential to cover the gap between Congress and BJP. Add Dalit and OBC votes to it, and BJP suddenly looked vulnerable.
From ‘Mia Musharraf’ in 2002, ‘Gujarat Model’ in 2012 to again ‘Pakistan connection’ in 2017, Modi had tried various catch-lines for his quest for Gujarat.
As desperate BJP tries to cling on to something or other, including Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s secret ‘Pakistan connection,' the small traders were upset with BJP’s GST and note-ban decisions, and Rahul and Hardik were pulling a huge crowd.
If BJP loses, it would be its second major loss after Bihar, wherein caste mobilisation of RJD-JDU-Congress had overcome religious polarisation of BJP in 2015. If Hardik - Jignesh - Alpesh’s caste conscious agenda helps Congress win, it will once again prove that religious mobilisation can be countered by caste mobilisation.
If BJP still manages the victory, an emboldened BJP may opt for an unprecedentedly vicious 2019 campaign to beat anti-incumbency.
