alright alright while i procrastinate for my ocs , lemme hear abt that elvish Royal fam fr
sincerely ur number ONE fan !
In the current year at the head of the family is Cetasia Astaseul and her wife Aleisandra. I want to save Cetasia for a post on her own but the love she and her consort have for one another was very strong. Aleis is the foil for Cetasia but in a complimentary way.
In general it’s a very strong(ish) family unit. The only true bumping of heads is between between Cetasia and her son Eirwen as they politically disagree. Both women are closer with their daughter and treasure her. The Princess and her wife tried to host a tight familial relationship with their children however, now in adulthood the Grand Prince lives far away from his family.
They also have a surviving aunt Frostulf who is 108 years old. Unfortunately Frostulf stays away from the remaining portion of their family. Frostulf is not abnormally old, as the age expectancy in Elvenwick is much higher. Before the famine and war, both the former Reigning Princess Consort Selphie and Cetasia’s other aunt Helgi still were alive. It is widely believed that they only died due to malnutrition caused by food shortage.

Current day Leaders
From LtR they are Eirwen (he/they) Reigning Prince of Elvenwick, Liliosa Queen of Glimmerier (she/they), Alistaire (he) the 68th King of Idealps and Sade (she) Leader of Amphinis. They all appear in the main story, much younger, before any of them become rulers.
The main story focuses on Lili and her adventures but the other three are very important to this story.

Reigning Prince Cetasia of Elvenwick
Tw for transphobia and child abuse
Cetasia was the second child of Selphi and Gaeleath, born some 19 ish years after her older brother’s birth. Born on the 21st day of the 3rd month of 1012, she had been known as Prince Soini. When she was only a year old her father died and her uncle resumed his regency for her brother he wasn’t able to fully take over the regency having been unpopular with the new reigning prince. Instead he kidnapped and raised Cetasia on his own, hoping to essentially groom her into being the monarch he wanted and get rid of Eerikki. Cetasia grew up lonely, only being able to be around her uncle. It wasn’t helped by the fact that she wasn’t any grand warrior, in fact she liked thinks such as painting, music and sewing. When she was 13 she was finally reunited with her mother and brother whom she felt alienated from. She was still forced to live with her uncle but had more contact with the outside world, with her uncle assigning her the sons of various lords to keep her company. She never liked this or their company which only amplified her feelings of loneliness and depression.
Cetasia didn’t feel like the boys she had been very reserved when company came over. Her hobbies didn’t align with the playmates forced upon her, neither her behaviors, or much of anything. She kinda quickly understood that she didn’t like being a boy. This all drastically heightened in the summer of 1027 when she was invited to court to attend a ball and she saw the amount of pretty women in their pretty dresses and she knew she wanted to be just like them. She was in love.
When she went home she took all her courage writing Erik a letter explaining that she wanted to wear pretty dresses like how all the other ladies @ court did and went into weeks researching names she felt were pretty and had come up with Ase. Erik ignored the letter which shattered Cetasia’s confidence. She tried to be the best nephew for her uncle, going hunting with him, to which Erik’s treatment of her got better thanking the gods that this “phase” ended. When Cetasia turned 18 the pair returned to court full time, where Cetasia still stayed mostly cooped up in her room for the years to come. Her main company was her brother who tried to make up for lost time, and her aunt Helgi who doted on her. In fact it was Helgi who got her back out of the closet slowly and hired her to become a Maiden of Solfrid in 1038. Not wanting to be out to the world, Cetasia didn’t attend public functions however she became close with all of the other ladies, especially Aleisandra a young lady about her age. With help from Aleis and her aunt, Cetasia progressively felt more ok with her gender and sexuality even coming out to her brother and mother and many other intimates.
Aleis and Cetasia got married in 1047 and a year later they had their son Eirwen. At this point Cetasia was publicly out and styled as a Princess but more as a courtesy title as she didn’t sign any documents confirming this as it would potentially be used to disinherit her. Around this time the invasion was in its early stages and Cetasia and her family moved away from the capital into a nice comfy palace where she had Elvira at the time known as Prince Aerendyl. The previous year Eirwen was named Eerikki’s heir presumptive, although it was very likely that he’d be the heir as the Prince had no interest in marrying. In 1054 it was decided that Elvira would marry Princess Liliosa of Glimmerier, which pleased Cetasia who would be the mother of not one but two monarchs. Although she didn’t approve of her brother’s war she never spoke against her brother and was a chief mourner at the funeral of him, their mother, and their aunt Helgi’s funeral which all took place within a year.
With her brother’s death Cetasia and her family were invited back to the capital where negotiations of the next Prince took place. Eerikki proclaimed Eirwen to be the next prince but the adult factions fought amongst each other. Cetasia did not want her young son to be in a position of political importance (such as a reigning Prince) and accepted the position on his behalf. Her cousin (the senior most family in the kingdom) opposed this claiming to be the senior most man, and that if Cetasia wanted to Prince she would have to relinquish any Princess titles. Eventually a compromise was made where Cetasia would be the first and only lady Prince on the throne, and that for her reign the title would be used in a more gender neutral way (she’d still retain titles such as her highness etc).
This made Cetasia (once again) the first and last lady Prince in the Elvenwick. The first few years of her reign were hard, having to balance the growing discontent of the nobles who had properties seized after the invasions as well as the other nobles who contested her rule. However overall her rule was very successful and she did abdicate in favor of her son (eventually).

The Governors of Elvenwick during Eerikki’s reign. They do change (a bit) during Cetasia’s reign but this would be the height of the power that the nobles had.
1st lord Arcane Cratis a man from a long line of lords, he was eerikki’s childhood friend and at one point it was believed that his sister would marry the prince
2nd lord Elion Volgus similar to the first lord his father was a chamberlain if the royal family and Elion grew up with Eerikki, Selphi adopted him unofficially after the death of his mother
3rd lord Kaytyr Daelarn the heir to the well established Daelarn company who owns many of the mines in Elvenwick
4th lord Aendryr Leigo along with his younger twin brother they own factories in Taesi Port
5th Ailwi Leigo ^
6th lord Frederick Hannover renowned explorer and philanthropist retired b4 the invasion and was murdered in his home
7th Noralf Peregrine married a wealthy heiress from Idelaps. He sold all of her property and now they both live in

more info on the governments ? :) love you Mwuah mwuah go listen to Nina Simone
Each of the four nations have varying governments and many different ways it manifests into everyday life, voting, and politics
Glimmerier (Queendom)
At the head of the government in Glimmerier is a Queen, her consort and her heir. Rulers of Glimmerier follow a woman specific inheritance where the thrown passes to the woman who is closest to the Queen while passing through the least amount of men.
Glimmerier is an absolute monarchy, however the Queens do hold a cabinet of various people (also usually women, but unmarried men can also serve). These advisors are all specialized in different fields, for example: Diplomacy, War, the Economy, Agriculture etc etc. The advisors are allowed to voice their opinions to the Queen and advise changes in law but it must go through the Queen.
Elvenwick (Semi Constitutional Principality)
At the head of the government in Elvenwick is the Reigning Prince and his Princely Consort and his heirs. Rulers of Glimmerier follow a man specific inheritance where the thrown passes to the man who is closest to the Reigning Prince while passing through the least amount of women.
In addition Elvenwick due to its history has a constitution in which Princes must abide by. In addition there are 10 Governors who the Prince must ask for permission. These Governors are a collection of the richest men in all of Elvenwick and are not voted upon by the populace.
Amphinis (Electorate/Semi Democracy)
At the head of the government in Amphinis is the Electorate and their family. There is no real preference, but usually women take higher roles in government and inheritance. Unlike the other nations, descendants of the current Elector are not automatically the future ruler. The current Elector nominates one of their blood heirs and a heir who they believe will carry their beliefs into the future. After the death of the previous Elector, the current two heirs are voted for amongst the people.
In addition there is a cabinet which is assigned by the Elector, which are a group of representatives from each main island. They keep their position for life or until their Elector dies.
Idealps (Constitutional Monarchy)
At the head of the government in Idealps is a monarch and their heirs. There is a male preference in lines of inheritance but on many occasions women have reigned the Kingdom. Sons no matter their birth order outrank daughters but male cousins dont outrank older female cousins. If a king has 2 daughters and then a son the son ill be the heir, but if a king has a daughter and a nephew his daughter would reign.
In addition Idealps has a strict constitution with a list of rules that everyone must follow. Although the monarchy is the head half of the time its more of a ceremonial head which has no power to levy taxes or make laws on their own. The main day to day powers of the monarch is: presenting titles and maintaining the honor and status of the Kingdom, whilst in times of emergency they have rights to preform all legal action.
Under the monarch is a bicameral system, Ministers of the Order which has 5 members and represents the old nobility, and The Governors of the Populace which has 4 members and represents the common people. The Ministers are headed by one Prime Minister who serves as the head of the Houses (the Prime Minister is designated by the monarch). The Governors are voted by for the people, whilst the Ministers are chosen by the monarch by suggestions from other Lords and Ladies.
I have designed the i myfor the current generation and the cabinet for Amphinis all drawn out.
