More Utena posting... Within the framework of Revolutionary Girl Utena, Reigen would probably be a prince/duelist type of character, but given that RGU and Mob Psycho 100 are deconstructions of their (very binary gendered) respective genres (shojo/romance + shounen/action), I'd say that Reigen is the equivalent of a rose bride in terms of like, realizing the absurdity of people aspiring to be the platonic ideal of whatever gender they're performing/expected to be but also still genuinely believing that he has to perform a Role to be worth anything and ends up kind of enabling those ideals through that. Hates himself for doing this but doesn't really do much to stop things (but he is sort of working on it).
