Caregiver Jon headcanons!

pretty awkward—not sure how to translate feelings into actual caretaking at first

writes everything down—favourite food, favourite shows, regression triggers

all about routine, really doesn't like deviating from that

very good at reading bedtime stories, very dramatic about it, does the voices

enjoys doing more educational activities with his little one—maths games, science kits, that sort of thing

likes getting the opportunity to explain things in general, but has to make an effort to remember not to explain things that are too inappropriate for someone who's regressed

likes doing his little one's hair—brushing it, and if it's long enough maybe braiding it or otherwise tying it up

Caregiver Jon Sims Headcanons!

so, jon likes to think he's a very calm, cool, collected cg. he has Activities planned, okay. he has a menu of all the different snacks and meal options that he knows his regressor likes, and he movies picked out, he knows what episodes of what shows are his regressors faves. he thinks he is the most Perfect cg

jon is not calm, cool, OR collected in any sense of the word

he is very excitable, and he often ends up being very emotional and loud. this can cause a few problems, because he will get loud and difficult to be around, and he has on more than one occasion accidentally made his regressor cry

he always apologizes profusely and will do anything in his power to right that injustice

jon also believes in the power of Blanket Burritos. little one is fussy and won't settle down? yelling? tantrum? well, it is time for the Blanket Burrito! just wrap em up in a blankie and set em on the sofa, time for movie night!

jon knows the names of all his regressor's stuffies, and he knows who is friends, enemies, family, and he knows aaaaaaall the drama surrounding his regressor's toys. there might be teddy bear murderers amongst the group, and he will always remember!

he is very attentive. he notices all the signs of his regressor slipping, or getting fussy, or needing a certain level of attention. the only problem is he doesnt always...know how to respond to that. in theory, he knows how to help his regressor slip, but in practice its not always that easy. and he knows what kind of attention/affection his regressor likes, but actually providing it can be awkward or difficult

trips to the library!! he loves using trips to the library as a reward for good behavior! always holding their hand, leading them around to look at the books, and when they get home he will read the new books to his baby!

is a short king, so unfortunately he sometimes needs to have his regressor reach things for him. this is embarrassing for him and amusing for his regressor

loves being referred to as dada it makes him feel very important, and the first time his regressor calls him dada he actually cries

uses nicknames like "little one" "dearest" and "darling" the most

alskfjajzjfjva i don't have a ton of cg jon headcanons because its actually a bit difficult to think of jon as anything other than a tiny baby slxkfkakxskxkfjvak

I don’t really think Jon would have a distinct high-pitched little voice, I think that when he’s small he just speaks a bit softer

I do however think that the way he speaks changes. When he’s little, he doesn’t tend to think about what he says quite as much, so he talks a lot faster and stumbles over his words more

He also struggles to pronounce longer words properly, and frequently says things like “hos-ti-pal” instead of hospital or “am-in-al” instead of animal

Some words he doesn’t even bother with anymore. He calls the institute “the big place” and calls Martin’s sewing machine “the sewing box”

(if he’s really small, he’ll occasionally mix up archivist and architect, which Sasha blames on Tim. Tim just thinks it’s funny)

i DO, thank u for asking!! (cw for some light angst)

-jon has two cat stuffies, one that he’s had since he was really young, the other martin gave to him

-they’re permanent fixtures when he’s regressed. he’s never separated from them for long

-(the older one is named bluebell, the newer one is named maple)

-doesn’t talk. only speaks in one or two word sentences unless he’s forced to sound ‘big’

-VERY embarrassed about his regression. doesn’t tell ANYONE

-martin has to put all the pieces together, research age regression, and tell jon “hey i think this might be helpful for you??” before jon is even willing to admit that there’s a tiny, remote possibility that maybe, sometimes, he occasionally feels a little bit younger than he is

-(they’re working on it)

-jon takes a long time to warm up to martin as a caregiver, even after they’ve already been together for a while, but once he does he’s very happy to be martin’s baby :)

-babbles a lot!! makes lots of noises just for fun!!

-he loves cats and bugs. he’s just obsessed with them

-(not anything worm-y tho)

-loves reading science books for kids!!

-likes easy reader books but won’t even touch any picture books

-he gets cold easily!! needs to be wrapped up in a blanket and/or fuzzy sweater at all time

-LOVES textured things!! could spend hours just running his hands over a soft blanket

-chews on EVERYTHING. he has chewelry but that doesn’t stop him from chewing on his clothes, martin’s clothes, the blankets, his stuffed animals, his toys, martin, literally anything in mouth range

-the sleepiest baby to ever exist. so so tired all the time

-VERY grumpy

-(but also giggly around martin)

-(tho he refuses to acknowledge the fact that he giggles)

-less uptight when he’s regressed, just wants to be cozy and sleepy

-still a very anxious little one though

-if he sees a spider he’s inconsolable for hours

-im convinced martin bought him some onesies, though it takes ages before he’s willing to wear them

-(when he finally tries them he immediately loves them)

-likes to play, but quietly. martin and jon’s home is always very quiet and peaceful when jon’s regressed, because the poor baby gets upset easily

Regressor Jon Sims Headcanons!

okay, jon? mr orphan? mr raised by grandma who didn't wanna raise another kid? mr spider book trauma sufferer? yeah he regresses very often, and he is terrible at hiding it

he discovered agere in uni, and he kind of realized like "oh that explains so much..." and then deep-dived into the whole concept and maybeeeee ended up sitting in his room that night very small and watching cartoons oopsie

georgie found out pretty soon after that. she went to wake jon up after realizing he was going to be late for possibly the first time since she'd ever known him to class. she opens up his door and looks inside and jon's still in bed with his thumb in his mouth and a stuffed animal georgie had never seen in his arms

jon tries his best to hide it from her, but he does eventually just give in like "okay fINE YES I AGE REGRESS" and georgie takes care of him 🥰 shes never really like a full-time "come to me any time" caregiver, but if she's there she plays with him and fills his sippy and gives him plenty of cuddles

flashforward a few years to jon being a researcher at the magnus institute. he's the quiet one who barely looks up from his desk from the moment he gets there in the morning to the moment he leaves in the evening. there are some who say that he never even takes a lunch break. the only time he looks up is when he has to leave to go do field work.

that is, of course, until he meets tim stoker. tim is just supposed to shadow jon, just to learn the ropes, but he quickly weasels his way into jon's life and *gasp* actually gets him talking!! soon the two are joined at the hip and where one is, you'll quickly find the other. then sasha comes along when she transfers to research, and tim and jon are quite happy to add her to the mix

theyre just supposed to be out in the field getting some notes for a case one day when it happens. jon's gone ahead first because. its jon. he goes into the creepy abandoned house that is supposedly haunted, and while he doesnt find ghosts or demons, he...gets a spider web to the face...and he has a panic attack

tim and sasha rush in when they hear jon in distress, and he's hyperventilating, shaking, he can't really move at this point...so they calm him down, they get him back down to earth, and jon just clings so hard to tim. he just latches on for a hug, and he's crying, and tim feels so bad for him so he just ends up carrying jon

its probably about two weeks of tim and sasha asking before jon explains anything. but, he tells them he regresses and that he's sorry and it'll never happen at work again (liar) and that they don't need to worry about him. they of course ignore that last part and make it their purpose to fuss over and worry over him profusely

jon does cave, because yeah okay he does like it and he does feel safe with them and yeah okay maybe he IS a cute baby like sasha says

jon doesn't have a specific age he regresses to, but he has differing needs. sometimes he can't speak and he can't remember how to even hold a spoon or if he needs to go potty. sometimes he's talking a mile a minute and he runs around and wants tim to chase him and he's just having a great time lol

hes the Most Spoiled baby ever. he has a big toy box that is stuffed full of plushies, dolls, blocks, action figures, whatever cool toy he saw at the store and begged for

hes not super messy or anything, unless he thinks it'll get him attention. he doesnt make a huge mess with his food, cleans up after himself when hes playing, those sorts of things, but you can bet that if he sees a giant mud puddle he is jumping in before sasha can say no. and now he's covered head to toe in mud, and he's got a big grin, and tim jumps in with him. sasha holds out a little longer, but FINE she'll jump in too

that trait of his when it comes to reading comes right back when hes regressed, too. sasha loves to take him to the library to pick out whatever he wants, and she reads with him. this is one of jon's favorite things to do is just cuddle beside sasha and let her read to him. sometimes tim joins in to do funny voices

jon calls the two of them mama and dada, and yes they cried the first time he said those titles

by the time they transfer to the archives, jon has moved in with them and the three of them are completely comfortable with each other. so when the martin curveball happens...jon is not a happy camper. and he has a fit when they get home, a full-blown tantrum because this was NOT supposed to happen

it takes a few months before martin finds out, and once he does...jon suddenly realizes that martin has a very good caregiver voice and he's very gentle and kind. oh no

now he has THREEEEEE cgs and he is more spoiled than ever

martin is just perfect for cuddles, and jon sometimes just decides It Is Cuddle Time whether martin knows it or not. he suddenly has a lap full of Baby and yeah he's not mad about that

jon ends up calling martin papa, and sasha and tim are the ones crying while martin is trying not to explode from cuteness

jon has no idea how cute he is, all he knows is he's getting tons of hugs and lil kisses on his forehead and thats a good thing ☺

omg i honestly couldn't tell you who my most favorite character is just because it is constantly cHANGING so like?? i'm honestly not sure how to answer this so take this weird lil ramble ;;

sO i've been trying to figure out of i tend to gravitate towards a certain character type when it comes to regression headcanons. bc i do think there's a pattern of what characters i (and most of the fandom agere community lbr) tend to gravitate towards in recruitment for the Babey Army

right now my absolute fAVE is kevin wtnv (curses that he doesn't have a last name) because he is just so???? sO???? 🥰 y'know?? like he is a character you can really sink into and dissect his brain and figure out what would benefit him and how his trauma effects him yknow

also. because i'm apparently a podcast person now. jon sims is BABY i listened to a guest for mr spider today and you cannot tell me this poor boy had a good childhood his parents are dead and he was raised by a grandma that didn't want to raise him and didn't know how to handle him (because he's autistic)

i can sEE the similarities in these two in certain ways but then there's the other characters i hc as regressors like we've got 1) robin buckley 2) mal 3) hunter 4) denki kaminari 5) akiza izinski

sooOOOO i don't see a pattern ajsdlfjakfg like these are the characters that every version of them that lives in my head is a regressor

wait akiza is has horrifying powers that caused destruction and almost killed everyone she loves when she was a lil kid hmmm

I’ve seen posts about Tim being brotherly to the archive team and you bet I’m gonna use that in agere headcanons (cuz sometimes when ur small you just need a sibling)

-Tim likes to pull up a chair and let the babies watch him play Minecraft, or play along with the slightly older kiddos

-Tim is always willing to sneak sugary treats to the little ones even if their cgs have told them no

-(For personal reasons I also specifically think he’s good at making angel milk)

-Tim will also help them hide under desks or between shelves so they don’t get caught eating those treats

-If any of the kiddos ever get hurt or scared, Tim can calm them down by showing them the really weird stuff from artifact storage and telling them about how cool it is

-Tim is strong! He can probably give piggyback rides to everyone on the team, but he doesn’t get to do it often bc then they’ll run around the archives for an hour and nothing gets done

Bonus!! A couple character specific things:

-Tim makes Martin blush by buying him a new plushie while he’s living at the archives and bringing it to him in the middle of the day

-Tim regularly has to scoop Jon up after he’s been working for too long to enforce a mandatory nap time

-Sasha likes Tim’s piggyback rides the most, they always make her giggle. If someone else is getting one, even if she’s not regressed at the time, she’ll still ask if she can get one next

-Melanie doesn’t like to be babied when she’s regressed, so usually if she’s small Tim will sit with her and they’ll just eat fruit snacks and watch YouTube
