Koffing y Weezing de Polen

Decided to go back and color it.

The idea came to me while I was suffering from pollen allergies. It would probably evolve into a pokemon named Sneezing or something. I wondered what Koffing might have been like before more modern pollution so I imagined it being a ball of irritating pollen and poisonous plants as opposed to pollutants. It’s a Grass Poison type btw

They look quite similar to the ones we all know and love except they are a sickly yellow-green and have purple flowers across their body that spurt out irritating pollen in place of gas. They both have rounder teeth then the Kantonian forms and both have smiles with a glob of snot hangs from their… nose? Face? Somewhere where I think nostrils could be. Is it even snot? Weezing’s third ball head thing (the one without the face) looks is a bush with flowers.

Next regional form is the Tentacool line which are based on the crystal jellyfish. They are also bioluminescent.

The Tentacool and Tentacruel in Sinnoh prefer living near the bottom of the seas and oceans. Their body temperatures became much colder over time and lost the poison typing due to not having as many predators.

(Late) Poké At Home Day 2: Regional Variant (Including Pre-evolution and/or Evolution)

I already explained in my last post but I’m mostly late because I was working on this evolution. I was originally going to do a Jhotoen Boltund, but since the type change was from electric to fire I felt it wouldn’t make any sense to have “Bolt” in the name and have it not be an electric type in any capacity. That said I had decided to do what Pokémon Sword & Shield did and have some regional variants evolve into a new Pokémon entirely. I could’ve had the Jhotoen Yampers not evolve, but I wanted make an evolution to expand on some of the visual aesthetics from the Yamper I did. This Pokémon is Igninu (Ignition + Inu(Japanese for dog)) the loyal pokémon, it’s based on the akita inu and I wanted the design to expand a bit more on the kabuki face paint I used on the Yamper. Igninu evolve from Jhotoen Yamper at level 25, same as Boltund with regular Yamper, but Igninu also requires high friendship with its trainer to evolve. Igninu are fiercely loyal to their trainers and will be by their sides through any challenge. They enjoy entertaining others and are often used in traditional theater acts. The fire on their tails burn to show their physical and/or emotional strength. Igninu are often mistaken to be angered with others, but it is just the naturally formed facial patterns.

Happy New Year everybody! I was going to post this yesterday since I wanted a post on both New Year's Eve & Day, but didn't have it ready in time. So, it's a day late. After all, I'm trying to break my habit of procrastination.

In Spirin, Sawk & Throw can be found with different belt colors. This indicates their rank in Judo & Karate (Shotokan). For a Throw a higher belt color shows how much strength & experiance they have. Ingame it's purely aesthetic & to add a bit of depth to the Pokémon. For a Sawk it not only shows their skill, but ingame it's both aesthetic & gradually raises 3 of their base stats. Resulting in them being doubled by the time their a Red belt.

Regional Aipom Concept エイパムのリージョンフォーム

Thought it would be fun to make Aipom Aifist (I replaced it’s open hand tail with something resembling a fist). It's a fighting / steel type that wacks people with its fist-like tail. It is worse at climbing than Johtonian Aipom though. If it can’t climb a tree it might punch it out of frustration.

Alt text- A regional variant of Aipom with a more fist-like tail. In the place of “fingers” the tail has metal nubs resembling a curled-up fist. It has brown fur with cream highlights. The three hairs sticking up on its head have been replaced with spiky metal protrusions.

My apologies that this is so late the evolution of this Yamper took awhile to draw and I wasn’t able to include it in this post due to photo issues on Instagram. Anyways this is my Jhotoen Yamper, a regional variant of Yampers from the Jhoto Region. I got the idea one day after playing Pokémon Sword & Shield from an idea on how various Pokémon have regional variants in games from Gen. VII and onward, so what if in regions from previous generations some newer Pokémon had regional variants. Jhotoen Yampers are fire type Pokémon based more on shiba inu rather than regular Yampers who are electric types based off of Welsh corgis. I also drew inspiration from kabuki face paint patterns for the patterns on the face. It seemed appropriate as I wanted to incorporate some traditional Japanese aesthetics and the Jhoto region has multiple references to traditional Japanese culture. These Yamper are commonly loyal to their trainers and are wildly popular in their region just as their Galarian counterparts. They love to entertain others and are often used in traditional theater acts. Their fire tails represent a number of things such as their strength, passion, and will. Their licks are as hot as a hot drink on a cold winter’s day.
