Weekday brunches in Montréal
There’s nothing Montrealers like more than going out for brunch on the weekend. But where does this love for brunch go once the weekend ends? Where does one go for brunch during the week? Although the weekday brunch offer is not as extensive as the weekend’s, below are a few options you may want to check out.

Régine
Régine has built a reputation as a Montréal weekday brunch authority of sorts and or good reason! Their weekday brunch is served from 8am to 3pm and includes dishes such as corn waffles with trout gravlax and poached eggs with mushrooms. Their vertical plate with homemade pastries and jams is a must as well.
Vieux Vélo
A Petite Patrie classic, Le Vieux Vélo excels at the all-day breakfast game and serves classics such as eggs, benedicts and more in an unpretentious and friendly ambiance.

Larrys
Larrys is a hybrid space in the heart of the Mile End that’s open all day, every day, or short of. Coffee, pastries, small plates to share (or not), breakfast items, excellent wine and more are available for your eating pleasure.
Beautys Luncheonette
A classic Montreal establishment, Beautys has been serving Montrealers breakfast, brunch and lunch for the past 70 years.

Olive & Gourmando
One of my personal favourite eateries in Montreal, O + G is a great spot to catch a weekday brunch. Although the more elaborate brunch menu is only technically available on the weekend, the housemade ricotta plate, granola bowl or “poached egg on your face” sandwich make for a great start of the day.

Le Butterblume
This cutest café has become an instant favourite since the day it opened. Filled with natural light and serving simple, regional dishes filled with flavour, Le Butterblume serves brunch Fridays to Sundays but a simpler breakfast menu is available the rest of the week.

Arts Café
This eclectic Mile End favourite serves an elaborate breakfast menu all week, which includes delicious items such as a shakshuka, a chicory and lardon salad, a duck confit poutine and cod cakes. The space is also a favourite for instagrammers.

Bagel Etc
Open every day from 6am until late afternoon, Bagel Etc. is a classic retro looking institution in the heart of the Portuguese ghetto of Montréal. It serves your classic Jewish-inspired specialties including excellent blintzes with a variety of fillings.
Arthur’s Nosh Bar
Arthur’s is the new, trendy kid in town. Located in the west part of St-Henri, Arthur serves a Jewish-classics inspired menu with items such as a classic bagel and salmon plate, a breakfast sandwich and the must-try Cohen special.

A classic breakfast restaurant, Universel is open every day and serves all-day breakfast or brunch. Their extensive menu includes a large variety of eggs benedicts, omelettes and several specialties such as steak and eggs.

Le Café Bloom
Deep in the heart of Pointe St-Charles is the lovely and eclectic Café Bloom, a great space to sit and eat, have coffee and spend a little time. Le Café Bloom serves colourful plates for any meal and loads of vegetarian and vegan options.
Le passé composé
Open from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm Wednesday to Sunday, Le Passé Composé serves breakfast in their convenient downtown location. Their generous portions and elaborate eggs benedict creations will surely hit the spot.
Les affamés
This neighbourhood Hochelaga-Maisonneuve bistro serves brunch from Tuesday to Sunday. Their brunch menu features creative dishes using local products. You can enjoy such items as huevos rancheros with pulled pork, cheddar biskits with duck confit and maple bacon and French toast with chocolate, bananas, dulce de leche and macadamia nuts.
