If I had a nickel for every time a blonde and a brunette share the custody of a child and still aren't a couple, despite the world shipping them and the high level of chemistry between the two of them I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

Furthermore, the coincidences go on, in fact the brunette is the longtime parent and so the strict one, while the blonde is the new and permissive one. The brunette has trust issues, a conflictual relationship with their family and a forced marriage that ended badly, meanwhile the blond one didn't have family at all growing up, was kinda baby trapped and will happily sacrifice themselves for the child and the brunette.

The only valid interpretation of enemies to lovers is when it is combined with the "X fell first, but Y fell harder." Like, X has been in so much love for so long that it feels like it's going to burn them from the inside out bc they're enemies, and they can't be together, and every time they think about Y they feel like they're touching a live bonfire that will one day destroy them, while Y is completely oblivious, insisting they hate X who is "annoyingly attractive, it's not fair" until the moment the revelation bonks them over head and they are immediately like "welp, looks like I'm in love and I refuse to live without X, they are not allowed to bury themselves away from me bc we WILL take on the world together whether they like it or not. The light in Evan's eyes dull and Eddie finds himself staring as Evan does everything in his power to keep the rest of the 126 from noticing. " I uh, yeah. That was me."

Mateo jumps in, shaking his head in protest. "No, no, that can't be it. I saw this news article about this firefighter who got his leg crushed by a ladder truck, and I'm positive it's him."

Evan purses his lips sheepishly. "That was me, too."

Eddie snorts. "What, next you gonna tell us you lived through a hurricane, too?"

"It was actually a tsunami."

Nancy gapes. "How are you alive?"

"The tsunami was less scary than the comas, honestly," Buck begins frantically in an attempt to downplay it.

"Comas?" Mateo asks. "As in multiple?"

"You could give TK here a run for his money," Marjan points out.

TK laughs, pointing a fork at himself. "Overdose, gunshot, and hypothermia."

"Breadstick, gunshot, and lightning strike."
