Up until recently, I would've said we made these memories for ourselves where Buck makes a baby box for Chris because it's one of my favorite fics.

But because I'm so on bucktommy rn, I'd kill for someone to draw Buck in Tommy's jumper in you've got me surrounded. 🥺

I know no one has to believe anyone else on the internet but you seem pretty cool...

Three and a half years ago we found out we were getting the crossover with Lone Star, I was in the middle of re-watch and I had just seen the episode in Season 2 where Chimney calls Tommy for help. It made sense to me that at least -some- of the 217/Harbor station would go down to Texas to help out, they'd need water bombers and stuff right? So I decided to write a silly little crack fic about Buck meeting Tommy and the two of them hooking up. A few months after that I decided to write them again for an AU week for an alternative first meeting. Being someone who loves writing rarepairs and crack ships I didn't think anything else of it.

The last 5 1/2 months have been absolutely insane in the best and worst of ways. I never in a million years thought this silly little crackship of mine would take off, there were SIX... *SIX* pure BuckTommy fics before 7x04 and now there are literally thousands. I am stunned but also so happy that this fun little silly little ship of mine has gotten so much love and attention, most of it positive.

All that to say, thank you for what you do for BuckTommy nation and the 9-1-1 fandom in general. You're amazing.

Evan "Buck" Buckley is an upcoming player with the NHL, a winger signed to the LA Kings after being scouted from the Hershey Bears, and he's finally found a home with his team. He can get his energy out in a constructive way rather than a destructive one, and he's good at hockey. He learned how to skate from Maddie when he was just a kid, a way for her to distract him from their parents' disappointment, and he learned how to be fast even before his growth spurt and muscle gain. He's tall, and strong, and one of the fastest skaters in the NHL. He's happy, and he can see his team going all the way to the Stanley Cup if they're good enough, if they practice and learn how each other work, if they become one on the ice. Then, the unimaginable happens. There's an accident, another skater crashes into him and then another, something cracks loud enough to be picked up by the television microphones, and Buck can't get up on the ice. He presses his face into the cold and sobs through the pain. He's rushed to the hospital and they have to surgically fix his leg. His doctors aren't sure he'll walk again, let alone skate, and he can't hear that. He can't, if he wants to survive this. His physical therapist, though, Doctor Thomas Kinard, "Tommy" as he insists on being called at their first appointment, thinks he can get Buck's mobility back and get him back on the ice before the next season, if Buck follows his routine and does the work. Buck is more than motivated, and he'll do anything that Tommy tells him to (and maybe it's not just because Tommy's a good doctor, but he's also very pretty and Buck is a simple bisexual man). Tommy is funny, and smart, and he doesn't let Buck get away with anything, pushing him to work harder and be better. He is good at what he does, and if he looks good doing it, Buck doesn't mention it to anyone. His hands are magic, and Buck doesn't mention to anyone that his favorite part of their appointments is when Tommy gives him a small massage to help prevent clotting. More than just a physical therapist, Tommy helps him understand that he is still an athlete, he is still worthy of his fans and his friends' attention, that he isn't just his injury or his scars. He reminds Buck every appointment that he's doing a great job and that he is so proud of the progress that he's made. He feeds Buck compliments like treats, and Buck has never had so much praise to feel genuine. It's addicting, far more than the pain meds he's given to make it through the day. He keeps his hands to himself, and his comments about Tommy's attractiveness, about Tommy's hands, about how he wouldn't mind those hands elsewhere on his body, at least until their final session when Tommy clears him to go back to work, and discharges him as a patient. Buck sits on the edge of the bed and looks up at Tommy. "Would it be inappropriate to ask you for your number?" "If you'd said that at the start of the appointment, yes, but since I'm no longer your physical therapist, here." When Buck plays his first game the next season, there's a roar of welcome applause from their audience, but all he sees is the man behind the bench, wearing his jersey with a big grin, cheering him on just the same as he did when he was recovering, and the way he will for the rest of their lives if he's very lucky.

“I’m Tommy,” the other guy in the elevator says, eventually. They’ve been stuck between floors four and five for a while now, and after the initial flurry of excitement – elevator car shuddering to a stop, total darkness blanketing them for a few seconds before the emergency lighting kicked on, Buck calling 9-1-1 because he’d had his phone in his hand already – it’s been silent, and that’s – fine, honestly, Buck’s never actually been stuck in an elevator with a stranger before, but he thinks that’s probably normal, but.

He’s been doing the thing he does where he stares at someone like a creep, he knows he has, but he can’t help it, okay. He could swear he’s seen this guy before. Not for long, he’s pretty sure, but he’s definitely seen him somewhere. He just couldn’t say where for the life of him.

Also, the guy – Tommy – is giving him kind of an expectant look, and Buck abruptly realizes that this is usually the point in the conversation where he’s supposed to introduce himself. Shit. “I’m – Evan,” he says, inexplicably. “Buckley. Evan Buckley.” 

“Tommy Kinard,” the man amends. “Nice to meet you, Evan Buckley. Circumstances notwithstanding.”

This is for my first Rocker/Tommy twins au

Tommy was playing with his twin brother Donovan in his room when they heard their father yelling at their mom again. Tommy was used to his parents yelling at each other but Donovan wasn't so Tommy did his best to protect him. Tommy grabbed Donovan’s headphones and put them on his twin brother so he wouldn't hear the fighting. Tommy always knew darker things than any 8 year old should ever know and that haunts him, even years later. When they were 13 is really where their different lives started. Tommy had become the troublemaker since they never stayed in one place for longer than a month and Donovan was the good but quiet kid. When they turned 18 was when the rift between the 2 really opened and they never really spoke again. That was until a first responders ceremony where Hondo and Tommy were set to receive medals for a rescue they pulled off together and Donovan was also there. He was a part of the rescue as well but wasn’t recognized for his part in it which pissed him off as he watched his twin and colleague accept medals for it.
