Es war erschreckend und fiel gleich bei der ersten Angelausfahrt auf; Ich sehe/ erkenne nichts mehr! Weder die Meter/Fußzahlen an meiner Angelrolle, noch die Tiefenanzeige auf dem Echolot. Ich hätte weinen können, das zeigt mir aber auch ziemlich realistisch, dass ich älter werde.

Nun gut, damit hatte ich mich dann relativ schnell arrangiert😉.

Ich habe dieses Jahr ALLES gegeben, um meine Frau zum Fisch zu führen.

Die Fangstatistik (die Arten (15 verschiedene) behalte ich Setti vor😉):

Und andere Arten😉

Wir haben dieses Jahr mehr Leng - Tüten als Seelachs, weil wir gezielt auf Grundfisch gegangen sind.

Das war unglaublich lehrreich und hat uns viel Freude bereitet.

Meine Highlights 2024;

Freunde und Gleichgesinnte wieder treffen und gemeinsam angeln. Ich habe das an die 1. Stelle geschoben😉.

Union - Micha; Es war mir eine Ehre, mit dir gemeinsam zu angeln! Wie viele Jahre treffen wir uns schon und haben DAS nie hinbekommen! Für mich und uns war das eine ganz besondere Bereicherung!😘

Unsere Norwegen-Babies 🌻 ❤️, ihr wart so herrlich gut drauf, habt sämtliche Ratschläge angenommen und dann doch noch euren Fisch gefangen. Nächstes Jahr rocken wir das wieder gemeinsam😉❤️!

Gisela, Rufus und Jürgen; ich weiß gar nicht, wie viel Jahre wir uns schon gemeinsam hier treffen?!? Diese Gespräche…so interessant! Ich liebe den Austausch von Lebenserfahrungen - egal wo auf dieser Welt man die erlebt hat.

Sowas esse ich daheim NIEMALS! Aber hier war es saulecker. Ich brauche nächstes Jahr mehr „Edle Tropfen in Nuss“. Nach Weihnachten kann ich die zwar nicht mehr sehen, aber hier habe ich 2 Packungen in 4 Tagen aufgefuttert😂!

Die Wale❤️, ich habe immer Tränen in den Augen, wenn ich sie sehe… sie sind so wunderschön und zeigen mir, dass die Welt in Ordnung ist. (Darum lasse ich an dieser Stelle auch die Militär - Präsenz, U-Boote sowie dieses ganze Kriegs - Gedönz aus! Leute..chillt mal ‚n bisschen! )

Last but not least; diese unglaubliche Fischvielfalt; wir haben das letztes Jahr (2023) von Ronald gelernt, eben auch mal „anders „ zu angeln. Reeker, Sardinen und und und! Das war so sehr interessant, auch mal anderen Fisch, außer Seelachs, zu fangen. Ganz ehrlich!; jeder, der Setti und mich kennt; Keiner von uns beiden hat nur den Hauch von Geduld! Beim Angeln haben wir es gelernt und auch wenn Setti mich nach wie vor zutextet beim angeln… wir wurden mit unserer Geduld belohnt😉!

Wir sind sehr dankbar für die Mengen an Fisch, die wir gefangen haben. Wir bedanken uns fürs mitlesen und freuen uns auf unsere Freunde/Familie daheim und auf das nächste Jahr😘!

For me, when it comes to disability representation in horror films, the bar is like basically underground.

There's a blind character in the first Reeker movie, he utilizes no apparent aids to move around and in fact repeatedly required another character to lead him around the environment, something the movie treats as this character's normal without question. He even at one point gives the "without sight my other senses had to get super strong" speech.

But the actor portraying this character seemingly actually has at least seen footage of a blind individual not wearing opaque glasses at least one time and it influenced his portrayal.

Thus I found myself thinking "this is halfway decent representation"

I'm wrong it really isn't, but I've lowered the bar so many times! God fucking damn I wish the world was better than it is.

Ok, I guess I'm a little late (if 11 hrs counts as little?) but part 12 was AMAZING, like, the talk with Robin, Eddie and reader playing bad cop, I really loved that part, the jock being a jock, it was amazing how you wrote it, and when Eddie found reader at Reekers Reef party, I wanna know what happens when he sees what the jock did to reader, and I'm guessing reader was trynna find comfort in Steve at the last part, bc she misses him, even if she says she doesn't, but I think, so far, this has been my favorite part from this fic, and again, I loved the Eddie part with the bad cop thing, it was cute and funny, (sorry I'm just an Eddie girlie) 🩷

A Hunt

The bayou punishe hubris.

I been in this game a long time. Too long, maybe. Ain't no way to live, got a thousand ways to die. Not four days past I was in Stillwater; couple of horrors crawled from hell again and I was fixing to send one back - the Spider. Coulda done two, maybe, but I'm careful.

Now, when there's a bounty you don't see just two hunters go for it but this time it musta been a bloody business. I didn't see a single living soul as I went about the work. No gunfire where I could hesr it, only the bugs and the birds and the wind. And the shrieking of that fuckin' thing skittering up and down the walls of Healing Waters Church.

Kill itself ain't much to talk about. I got some scrapes, yeah, but most of the blood wasn't mine when I was done putting the hammer to it.

With the Darksight, I saw somebody else had killed whatever was lurking up at Port Reeker. Good, I thought. You and me, we leave this place with our prizes and our good deed done. I can feel a little closer to atonement. So I shook off what gore I could and tried not to let thinking about a bath distract me too much as a lit out for the riverboat.

'Bouta mile along I saw 'em; the energies of the claimed bounty crackling like lightning out in the black. Greedy bastard thought they'd catch me out, put a bullet in me, and take my bounty too. Fair enough in a way - musta fed lead to every other hunter out here that wasn't et by water devils or grunts. Most greenhorns don't make it out the first time, overwhelmed by grunts, a groaning horde flailing with fists and cleavers... just about shit myself my first time. Got lucky. Learned.

So we know where we are. They want to kill me and I mean to leave. I switch back and loop 'round through the Pitching Crematorium thinking they'll maybe ignore me, go to scout the church for anything left. But no, they follow, so I streak north and skirt Blanchard, mainly 'cause I saw it was ripe with monsters - an immolator stalking the stairs and a meathead thumping between the cells.

Son of a gun following tries to cut right through to head me off, coming from the east. I was on the far side by now and they were impatient. Stepped wrong and pissed off the burning corpse. I heard the gunshot. Real sloppy, that. They'd ignited the immolater right near some misplaced barrel of gunpowder. I turn around in time to see the old bone orchard blaze like the sun for a heartbeat.

Silence.

Shoulda taken the other bounty, friend. The bayou punishes hubris.
