Hear me out for a second

One day I was just thinking about season 2 ep6 of the hollow and analyzing reeve and adam's relationship out of boredom, when I realized something and have been thinking about it for the past 2 weeks up to now and I wanted to ask...

Am I the only one who thinks that the moment in s2ep7 where Adam brings up the conversation that reeve overheard which led to their fallout was a missed opportunity to show exactly how their fall out happened? Think about it! once Adam started with "About that conversation you overheard" and reeve replies with "let's not do this right now", right after he replies with that, we could have gotten a flashback in reeve's perspective where he hears their conversation, surprises and confronts them or leaves without warning (most likely the second one). Once the sequence is over Adam starts with "i don't think you heard how it ended" and then we are given the same flashback sequence but in adam's perspective and starts explaining how he would never do that to him while the sequence is still going and stops when he says "cause beyond the hollow, beyond being my teammate, we're friends" and tells him how he should've told him about it. Then they forgive each other and divorce is no more!!! XD

The team was probably saving this for season 3 (which aged very poorly) but even if season 3 happened, why would they tell us now when they could've shown us what happened between them in season 2? maybe in season 3 Kai would get curious and ask Adam and reeve how their fallout happened, and they would just explain it to him cause he now knows Adam and reeve separated but he doesn't know how it happened, and wants to catch up with the reeve and Adam divorce lore xd

Reedam draw I made, lined Reeve’s face, then gave up on cuz I got too excited abt other draws that are similar- but not quite. Last worked on it May 29th.. Yes this is The Hollow: Round 2 related! Context involves something abt a dead Weirdy clone, won’t spoil past that 😵‍💫 (I say as if I’ll actually tell this story- I might !)

My opinion on Stolas might be a bit different from most people who openly voiced their hatred towards him.

Honestly I wouldn't say he's evil, but I also won't say he's a saint either. The guy just honestly needs a bit of a wake up call that yeah, he kind of was looking down on Blitz by calling him his little imp plaything and what happened in Ozzie's. To truly think about how the way he treated him and being called those things would lead Blitz to thinking that he doesn't love him.

And to be blunt... it seems more like he in love with falling in love. Let me in explain. The guy was trapped in an unhappy marriage where the only light in it was his daughter, so of course he might wanna look for an escape of sorts. Something akin to a knight in shining armor saving a princess from an evil witch, taking her on his steed and living happily ever after.

But the problem here that in pursuit of that fantasy, he's also neglecting Octavia. So what I'm hoping for is for the call out to come from her and that would be the breaking point for Stolas, that he really wasn't the innocent party in this as he thought to be and take the steps to truly improve and find a way to make it up to Blitz.

The thing is, that is exactly what Season 1 was trying to do. Season 1 Stolas was a man who made many mistakes that ended up hurting others, he was consumed by his own lustful desires and in the process he hurt the ones he cared about.

Part of what makes Loo Loo Land such a fantastic episode is that Stolas goes through some level of character development in that episode; he realizes that he made a mistake that hurt his daughter and, he decides to fix it by taking her to a place that she likes, even if he probably doesn't care for it.

It shows that he has more dimension beyond being a horny twink. Season 1 knew that Stolas wasn't a great person but it still gave him redeeming qualities to make him at least reedamable. I don't Season 2 Stolas (as a person) is irredeemable, but Season 2 really took everything that made Stolas interesting and threw it out the window.

The fundemental problem with how Season 2 is handling Stolas is the season's insistance of painting him as the vitcim in every situation he's in; I've said this many times before but it bares repeating; anyone who was hurt by Stolas' past actions is demonized by the narrative. Stella is turned into a one-dimensional bitch so Stolas cheating on her could make him look sympathetic. Octavia is told to cut her father some slack because he's "trying his best" even when the series shows us the exact opposite. And Blitz is told that he just hates Stolas for being a prince and is frammed as jaded and biased by the narrative even when he has no reason to think Stolas loves him given everything Stolas did to him in Season 1.

Every problem Stolas has as a character began in The Circus, where it decides to add in that "Stolas just wanted genuine affection and thought he had that with Blitz" thing, which came out of nowhere and directly contradicts what Season 1 first established, it's such a weird change in his character and feels completely different to what Season 1 gave us. It's a retcon because it doesn't line up with what was set up in the first season.

And this, in a vaccume, isn't even a terrible idea for a character, it could be interesting on it's own, but it contridicts what was previously established and turns Stolas into an UwU soft sad boy.

I don't really think that they are going to call Stolas out, at all. From what I've heard there are leaks that say that Octavia was tricked by Andre and Stella into hating Stolas, so he is now being frammed as a victim again.

Stolas had the groundwork for being the best character in the show but bad writting turned him into the worst. And at this point I don't think there's any fixing him at this point, it'll just come across and as too little too late.

He's the best villain from dha. With 0 reedamable qualities. For sure. Definitely deserved that ending he got.

He is manipulative but doesn't really think things through.

For example he just shows Magnus his fat ring I don't know if it was intentional or not.

Or that damn kidnapping was also a mess.

What I don't really get how he hasn't made Magnus work for him sooner? I mean. Victor clearly isn't getting him anywhere. 😅

He got the Grail from Trabas. But who gave Trabas the Grail? Magnus.

From who did he got the medallion from? Magnus.

Honestly, I’m guilty of not reblogging and engaging with this fandom too. I’m going to try to fix that and engage with the other content creators more.

But can you blame me for not having the motivation to create and distribute The Hollow content when nobody seems to care and reblog their thoughts back? Not reblogging is a fandom killer on this site guys!

Reblog! Rebogging is literally how Tumblr itself works! There is no site curation! If you don’t reblog a post! It doesn’t get spread! Reblog The Hollow fan content!

One thing I also want to see is this fandom becoming interested in things beyond shipping. I like shipping as much as the next person, and yes The Hollow’s main draw is the character dynamics for people, but I do not want to have to add ships that do not completely suit my vision of the narrative just so people will care about a minuscule part of my fanfictions.

I wish people would express actual interest in the things I create, because right now I just feel like anything I make for this fandom that isn’t Kaidam or Reedam-oriented isn’t good! That’s not a fun feeling!

Like, we all agree that the concept for The Hollow was pretty cool, right? And that there was so much potential. So much that could be explained, and so so many different ways it could have been taken. This fandom honestly SHOULD be more alternate-universe-oriented based on what it’s worshipping. Can this fandom start expressing slightly more interest in anything other than shipping please?

Support your fandom fellows. Reblog! Do NOT be afraid to write your thoughts! Do NOT be afraid to share your contributions, even in tags if you’re that shy! And don’t tear others down for creating things that may not suit your taste; that will absolutely ruin a fandom. This isn’t 2020 anymore folks; don’t forget to go outside. It’s only fun fiction.

Please please please! We need to band together folks! I need actual engagement from you all if I can muster any fuel to contribute to this fandom. I’m gonna try to do my part! Please try to do yours!

Let's Talk About the Hollow Fandom (and dead fandoms in general)

Hello, The Hollow fandom. This is Cyrokin. I'm sure you all don't need to be told that our fandom is kinda lowkey dead. Activity is hard to come by. I'm one of the senior members of the fandom myself, but I don't get any more activity on my posts than anyone else does.

Look, we can #save the hollow and tell Netflix all day how much we want our show back. But we don't exactly have the fandom to back our wishes. If we want more the Hollow, we've gotta make it ourselves. Fan art, fanfiction, fan animations, fan comics. There are SO MANY fanworks in this fandom left unfinished. Unstarted, even. And it's a crying shame because you guuuuys we have so much potential!

We're a creative bunch! We're an odd bunch! We love what has been broadly cast aside as average! We are a fandom with untapped potential, loving a show full of similar untapped potential! Let's explore that! It'll be fun!

How do fandoms become dead? Fandoms die when fans stop creating, yes. But more importantly, they die when fans stop engaging with what is created. Fans can do their own thing and create stuff all day. But when nobody seems to care, it's discouraging. Eventually some people just give up.

Fandoms aren't corporate machines that pump out products and content to be consumed. Fandoms are made of people sharing love for their favorite characters and stories. Fandom is built on community. When the community dies, the fandom and any interest in it dies too.

So, Hollowers, I implore you all. Those of us who remain. PLEASE, support rather than tear down your fellow fans. Engage with them when they ask for engagement. Like their posts, reblog their posts, share your own creative works. Hell, the fanworks you like the most? Make fanworks for that too.

Please, for the love of fandom, NORMALIZE making fanworks for fanworks. Draw fanart of AUs you like. Write stories set in someone else's AU. If it inspires you, make something with it! This should not be a taboo!

Support your dead fandom, because the few of us that are here, we are all we've got. The Hollow can live, but it's gotta live through us. Netflix failed us. We can't fail us. We've gotta build the world we wanna live in. And if we want a thriving fandom, we've gotta make it ourselves.
