Women wear tight clothes for the male gaze. Tight clothes are so uncomfortable, which is why when she wants to lounge around I can guarantee she has on a baggy shirt and sweats, no makeup, and hair tied up. That's my look on the daily (and why I cut all my hair off) because I value my comfort over others'. That's how every person should live and is how the majority of males live. Women only don't because we're drilled this idea that beauty/performativity is the most important part of womanhood. So if a teacher is dressed for the male gaze, she's giving the idea she's not concerned with teaching. All women who wear the femininity costume are, whether they want a man or not. The "butch" style is honestly just prioritizing comfort--loose button up, "men's" pants (roomy pants with pockets), flat shoes (not heels), no makeup, short hair. I wish every woman would treat themselves like a human and not an object.

Also, what is with teachers talking about anything but their subject? I get that students are curious, but teachers really should stay on the curriculum. Talk about your professional journey to build rapport.

Your natural marks aren't "flaws"

I think stretch marks are the coolest looking natural phenomenon that a person can have on their body. Scars are very cool as well, and birth marks are especially awesome. Even cellulite is nice to see, as it's refreshing to know someone isn't trying everything they can to hide it. These are all natural body traits that I think is ridiculous to consider flaws. They're so stunning to me. Y'all should cherish these proud markers of being a human.

Selfie and Insta-model culture is toxic.

For many women, taking selfies is a tasking endeavor. It can take many trials to get the "perfect" selfie for posting. Additionally, looking back on selfies at a time when you were thinner or younger and thus more societally "beautiful" can be harmful on your sense of self. Add into the fact that seeing *other* people's selfies that have been posed and edited to "perfection" can damage your body image, selfie culture is plainly harmful.

Do yourself a favor and use your camera for documenting places, not faces. Capture moods! Capture only what is raw and candid, not for what other people would approve of. When I quit Instagram, I knew myself better than I ever had before. The moment I redownloaded Snapchat and saw all my memories were full of skinny, young, makeup-caked (inauthentic) versions of myself, I instantly felt insecurity. I began critiquing my current body, comparing it to my old one. That is toxic!

It's the parent's fault for teaching her to prioritize her looks, putting her in sandals in the rain, and raising her different than your son.

RAISE YOUR DAUGHTERS AND SONS THE SAME. Gender roles start before conception when you choose to buy your female fetus bows and tell her as a newborn how pretty she is, versus buying your male fetus sensible shit like teething rings and telling him as a newborn how tough he is.

The adult human female body is not inappropriate. My body grows hair because I am a mammal, just like men. If I am not granted the freedom to do what I may with my body, I am then considered non-human. The female body needs rehumanization.
