hey TADC artists, you might've had your art reposted to reddit without credit!

EDIT: it seems this user has stopped reposting TADC art at all since i made this post. no idea if they saw this, but either way: thank you for stopping! im leaving the post up so people are aware still but either way if you stopped due to this post, its appreciated. so i'm going to start this with a simple DO NOT HARASS THIS PERSON. i'm making this post because i know not everyone uses reddit, and this has been going on for a while so i can only imagine the amount of artists who have had their work reposted. this post is to make artists AWARE.

a while back, i noticed that this user had reposted my silly minecraft jax image to reddit. without credit. i didnt care too much, because that post was low effort, but still, mentioning my blog wouldve been appreciated.

today, im finally going through this person's profile and realising how much art has actually been reposted without crediting the original artists. the thing is, this person has SHOWN they can credit artists! they just choose not to half the time.

they'll credit the artist if their art is the main image(s) in the post, but anything in the comments or replies? no artist names to be seen. THIS is where the majority of the reposted art comes from.

i understand that it's the internet, and that this should be expected, but i don't think we should be using that as an excuse to ignore when things like this happen.

if you're a TADC artist, i highly suggest you check this person's post history, and see if your art is there. if it is, try replying to the comment or messaging them. they've shown they're willing to delete reposted art, but ONLY if the artist themselves requests it. if you dont have reddit, maybe asking a friend who does could help. if you recognise any of the artists, maybe let them know!

i'm sure this person has no ill intentions, but still, you can't just credit some artists and not everyone else.

to this reddit user: every single artist you've reposted from deserves the same level of respect. i understand that you may just want to share the amazing art youve seen, but you cant just go using our work like this without mentioning where you got it from.

and if this reddit user DOES see this tumblr post: im more than happy to forgive and forget, as long as you start crediting artists, even in your comments.

again, all i ask is that people DO NOT HARASS THEM. JUST KINDLY ASK FOR CREDIT, OR FOR YOUR ART TO BE TAKEN DOWN. BEING RUDE WILL NOT ACHIEVE ANYTHING.

I'm an older sibling, though it doesn't matter the details of how I lost my baby brother, it should have been preventable, and even had it not been, it makes the universe feel stormily unbalanced in my experience, losing a sibling, just a big hole of overwhelming emotions where there used to be so much life

Anyway I don't want to be soppy in your DM's or whatever, I just wanted to send you a big brother hug I guess, some empathy and support at least. No matter how long it's been, there is always that empty place where your sibling is supposed to be

Then I saw that you're also chronically ill & disabled on my way over here, so apparently we have other things in common that are less heart wrenching so I am also generally saying hello, nice to meet you, in the most awkward way possible. *Waves like a strange nervous little gremlin*

there is so much to say about losing a sibling and i worry if i start, i'll never stop (which is already true seeing as it's been years and i've written countless words about this specific grief). i relate so much to the things you've said here; dead siblings are a phantom limb we'll always be trying to move. i don't think there'll come a day where something big happens and i don't think of calling them.

there's a reddit comment i came across years ago talking about grief that i'll never forget and i think it's always worth sharing, especially to someone like you who i think will appreciate and understand it:

"In the beginning, the waves are 100 feet tall and crash over you without mercy. They come 10 seconds apart and don't even give you time to catch your breath. All you can do is hang on and float. After a while, maybe weeks, maybe months, you'll find the waves are still 100 feet tall, but they come further apart. When they come, they still crash all over you and wipe you out. i don't know what i believe in this world, but i know that our siblings do live on through us, in all the ways they affected us and the stories we tell. and this pain will be with us forever, but there is a life to be lived in between all of that. and sharing them with others is part of it. and it is a gift to have known them and get to share them in moments like this with others.

gah! i know u came here to comfort me (despite me giving u all these comforting words in return too) but u truly *have*; i feel comforted by being given a space to talk about them. i imagine you feel it too: the way it's a little taboo to talk of the dead at all, the avoidance of statements that make people ask questions. i try to still talk freely about the ones i've lost, but people hear "dead" and don't think of a real person who once was Everything to u and So Full Of Life. (similar to what i was saying in the tags of your god post,, mischa is more than just a Dead Girl Trauma Backstory of hannibal's. she's real. she was there. she was *alive*.)

SnK Chapter 89 Poll Results

This poll closed with 770 entries. It was a lot to go through, but I appreciate the all the support. The poll was posted on Reddit and Tumblr, so I’m hopeful it’s a solid snapshot of how the fandom views the events of chapter 89.

What happened on the roof was too significant a moment for the characters to be completely unchanged by it. Anger, trust issues, grief were cited as factors. Interesting, many people saw the change as a potential positive.

My favorite positive comment:

Change, yes, but not necessarily damage.  Their relationships will grow from this just as they have through every other  arc.

This comment made me nod my head solemnly: 

I REALLY hope so. I hated the serumbowl,  but if it happened it might as well have some meaning and not have all the  drama be just outta the moment. I wanna believe the characters have a say in  where the story goes, and it's not just convenient so the plot can move to  where Isayama wants to. 

Many respondents noticed a general numbness in Levi’s demeanor. Several want to wait and see. But at this point, only 12.9% of respondents think Levi’s relationship with Eren and Mikasa is permanently damaged. 

 Levi doesn't seem to care about what's  happening around him anymore, i don't think he''ll care about his  relationships anymore. He looks like he's even starting to ignore his duties  as a soldier.

I was expecting a  more emotional response out of Levi but he's still hanging there. A lot of  fans think he's much more distant after losing his liege but I feel like this  sentiment is often what the fans want to see rather than what is happening?  Levi behaves pretty kind to the kids the past few chapters though, even  though they played a large part in his decision. Only time will tell I guess  but I do wonder about his mental state...       

Levi's rationality will help him cope with Erwin's loss in so many ways. On the other hand, his compassion will always make him understand what it's like to be in other people's shoes. After all the revelations, I'm pretty sure he has also considered Eren & Armin's time limit, and how Mikasa is taking it. He has always been that kind of person, rational and strong but never lacking in compassion.

To the mind of many, Hange is far less forgiving than Levi. 73% of respondents think her trust and faith in Eren and Mikasa is damaged, and 26.5% believe it’s permanent. 

“Bitter Hanji is my life source. I need her backstory like I need air.”

Despite Hange’s open disagreement with Levi over the serum, 89% of respondents think their relationship will be ok. I agree.

The good news: 70.8% do not think Hange’s being cruel. Hange is stressed, heartbroken and grieving, and that may be making them more short-tempered than normal, but their behavior is not unreasonable.

The bad news: 20% of the fandom think she is being cruel. As someone on Reddit suggested, maybe we should put a fence around them.

I'm sorry for Eren, but also Hanji is  really tired right now. She has a different position and has to face a lot of  problems and other high ranked heads of the military divisions and making  difficult decisions...and they just have not many time. 

I loved Hanje in that chapter, I think a lot of ppl don't realise how alone Hanje is in  this situation, their situation is even worse than Erwin imo. They have more enemies, less trusting comrades [Levi put his personal feelings 1st and reduce the chances of Humanity surviving...

she is being unreasonable, but i think it's a realistic  portrayal of how someone would behave after going through so much like idk  why people are acting like her behaviour is unfounded. like im not sayin  hanji acted reasonsably, she didnt like she shouldve tried reasoning with eren  instead but she obviously got frustrated because of the absolute shit  everyones going through right now 

From how she behaved during the actual serum bowl (tm) I think it's safe to say Hanji is a very empathetic, understanding and mature person.  The problem right now is she doesn't know what Eren is going through and why  he is behaving weirdly at this moment,in addition to being frustrated and not  being able to understand Levi's decision.

 I'm huffy about the Hanji hate... she's  so stressed and grieving, people need to cut her some slack

Isayama did good! Despite all our theories, it appears that Ymir was an ordinary girl who was given an extraordinary name. 84.5% of respondents were satisfied with her backstory.

That said, many people think there’s more to the story. Don’t rule out those mystical ties just yet!

 Well i know the People of Ymir share weird  connections that even surpasses time... That Ymir's dancing titan looked  hella like the Devil that gave Ymir Fritz powers.

 I'm still expecting more to be revealed.  Her past hasn't completely been showed to us and I still believe she's  somehow connected to THE Ymir.

About 2/3 of the fandom agree that Ymir is too important for an offscreen death. Big thumbs up from me on this one! For those who think she’s dead, they are side-eyeing the Quadrupedal Titan.

I believe Ymir was eaten to make the Quadrupedal Titan. The way they both stand on all fours makes me believe that. Also, Ymir's disappearance and The Quadrupedal Titan's appearance.

I sometimes think of these polls as an “ask the audience” test since usually the majority is right. That won’t work for the question of whether Reiss and Fritz are the same or a different bloodline. With almost 800 respondents, the fandom is equally divided on this point. 

32.6% do not think time travel will be a part of this story. 22.1% do. If time travel is a factor, 48% are ok with that if it’s well written. 30% will be disappointed.

My personal feeling align with this:

 I HATE TIME TRAVEL  WHY ISAYAMA  I TRUSTED YOU  Dammit

 I’m hopeful if the story goes this way, Yams will pull it off successfully.

Most people believe Eren Jaeger is the source of Kruger’s memory of Mikasa and Armin. The most popular write-in entry was Grisha. In retrospect, I should’ve added him as an option.

Past, present, and future exist simultaneously. Eldians are magically connected, so they can "leak" their memories/thoughts to each other across time. The Coordinate just make this process very efficient.

I’m happy to report that my favorite Commander Handsome is still loved and missed by the majority of the fandom, at least on Tumblr! I was told that most of the 25.7% who disregard him at this point are the Redditors who chimed in :)

 He would be 200% more stressed out, with  more weight on his shoulders and with 199 new ghosts judging him 24/7.

Because I personally favor the vets, I assume the majority of my tumblr followers do as well. This makes me wonder if the results of these polls are slanted in their favor. This month, however, this wasn’t the case. Fans of the 104th had a nearly equal voice.

my mcfrcking rants about art thiefs hoo boy

hello happy nighttime may I please say something?

I am absolutely pissed at the large number of fan accounts stealing fan art from tumblr, twitter, deviantart, youtube, etc. and reposting them onto instagram without any credit at all (not saying that original fanart posted on instagram is exempt from art reposting.. if anything it's just worse since it'll be much easier to find an artist there).

now please excuse my language but these fuckers like to do this thing where they put "credit: ??? please tell me if you know the artist" like how in the evershitting hell are we supposed to know? were you not the one who posted it? we as viewers just assumed you were the artist that's all

and maybe art stealers don't know how to reverse image search but basically it's when you go to Google image search, click on the camera button and you can select or paste a url leading to that piece of art you found. from there reverse image search can trace back the url to its original source and you can properly credit from there.

if you're on your phone you can install an app called 'reverse image search' which allows you to — as stated above — trace back the image to its original source. therefore there should be no excuse for you to not be able to find the original artist (unless all the suggested sites shown are pinterest, reddit, amino apps... then I'm sorry to say this but you're screwed)

if you're unable to find the original artist in this case, don't repost. "but I want to post it.." no. is it yours? is it your decision what you can or cannot do with someone else's work? no. it isn't. don't fucking argue.

hey you wanna know what else about fan-account-art-thiefs that make me want to mash some fking potatoes?? when these shitty ass fan accounts are able to tag a dozen other fan accounts in their post with a 100% disregard of the actual artists' accounts — let alone links to the original creator's account. why does this exist? why god dammit freaking why.

what else huh? how about art thiefs going "oh I didn't draw this" but not acknowledging the original creator whatsoever? yeah I could damn fucking tell you didn't draw this with your shitty art stealing fingers you asshole. pretty sure you have the creativity of a thimble but I can't just say that riiiIgHGHGtTTtTT????

one last thing before I go (and if you've read till up to here please know that I deeply appreciate you for staying and possibly relating to all this pent up frustration I'm feeling): fan accounts whose only content is stolen content. impersonating (or what I usually see) and claiming to draw all that amazing art (even thoUGH ALL THOSE ARTWORKS HAVE DIFFERENT ARTSTYLES!! HMMM I DIDNT FUCKING KNOW YOU WERE SO FLEXIBLE WITH YOUR ART STYLE THAT YOU CAN EASILY SWITCH FROM DEEP DARK BROODING ANIME ARTSTYLE TO LIGHT CHEERY HEART-MOUTH CARTOON ARTSTYLE). and to top that shit off, these fucking fan accounts ALWAYS have a BEST FUCKING FRIEND that will support them no matter what. "oh!! you're calling out Y because they stole this art? you hater! they drew every single one of this FUCKING art even if it does look like work from W artist or Z artist or whatever".

If you've read till the end, please just try and spread awareness and get these art thiefs to stop. I'm tired. I don't post any of my art publicly so I never have to face reposting, but as someone who knows that it takes a freaking long time to make something good, it sucks to see art thiefs are usually ignored and left to do their disgusting shit. If you see these fuckers on any public site please just report them and hope they don't get to continue what they're doing. Reblog this, I don't care. Just don't let them think it's okay to steal original content.
