Alert Pedestrians Instantly: Blue Spotlight & Red Zone Lights
Safety is paramount in industrial environments, especially given the prevalence of forklift trucks, which often pose risks to pedestrians. To address this concern, safety managers are increasingly turning to innovative solutions like Blue Spotlights and Red Zone forklift lights. These LED safety lights serve a crucial role in alerting pedestrians to the presence of forklifts and preventing collisions. The Blue Spotlight projects a distinct blue spot on the ground, while the Red Zone light creates a visible danger zone around the forklift.
Let’s dive into the nuances of both in more detail!
What are Blue Spotlights and Red Zone Forklift lights?
There is a frequent episode that the crew encounters where someone is walking through your factory or warehouse staring at their smartphones or wearing earbuds, unaware of what’s happening around them.
Blue Spotlights and Red Zone forklift lights are essential safety devices designed to enhance visibility and prevent accidents in industrial environments.
The Blue Spotlight projects a prominent blue spot on the ground, serving as a clear indicator of an approaching forklift. It alerts pedestrians to the presence of the forklift, prompting them to adjust their path to avoid potential collisions. By effectively signalling the forklift's location, the Blue Spotlight significantly reduces the risk of pedestrian-forklift accidents.
On the other hand, the Red Zone Forklift Light creates a designated no-go zone around the forklift by projecting two straight red beams onto the ground. This illuminated area serves as a visible danger zone, indicating that the forklift is in motion or actively stacking goods. Pedestrians are thus alerted to keep a safe distance from the vehicle, minimising the risk of accidents caused by inadvertent crossings.
Blue Spotlights
Blue spot lights are a vital safety feature in industrial environments, particularly in warehouses where forklifts are commonly used. These spotlights serve as proactive warning signals for pedestrians, alerting them to the presence of forklifts and helping them avoid potential accidents.
Illuminating the Path for Pedestrians
Mounted on the overhead guard of the forklift, a blue spotlight emits a bright blue spot on the ground, typically extending 10-20 feet in front or behind the forklift. This illuminated path serves as a visual cue for pedestrians, signalling the approach of the forklift and allowing them to adjust their movements accordingly.
By highlighting the forklift's trajectory, the blue spotlight enhances pedestrian awareness and facilitates safe navigation around the vehicle.
Benefits of Using Blue Spot lights
Enhanced Visibility: Blue spotlights significantly improve visibility in busy industrial settings, especially in areas with low lighting or obscured sightlines. Pedestrians can easily spot the distinctive blue spot, even from a distance, enabling them to steer clear of oncoming forklifts preemptively.
Reduced Accidents: By providing advanced warning of forklift movements, blue spotlights help prevent collisions between pedestrians and forklifts. This proactive safety measure minimises the risk of accidents and injuries in the workplace, fostering a safer environment for all personnel.
Increased Awareness: Blue spotlights raise awareness among pedestrians about potential hazards posed by forklifts, encouraging them to remain vigilant and exercise caution in shared work areas. This heightened awareness promotes a safety-conscious culture and reduces the likelihood of complacency or oversight.
Improved Efficiency: Fewer accidents and disruptions caused by pedestrian-forklift collisions can increase productivity levels as workflow remains uninterrupted. Blue spot lights contribute to the smooth operation of industrial facilities by mitigating safety risks and optimising work processes.
Red Zone Forklift Lights
Red zone forklift lights also known as Red Danger Lights are essential safety devices designed to enhance visibility and prevent accidents in industrial environments, particularly in areas where pedestrians and forklifts interact. These lights serve as proactive warning indicators, delineating a safety perimeter around the forklift to alert pedestrians and other workers of potential hazards.
Overview and Functionality
Mounted on the sides of the forklift's overhead guard, red zone lights project two straight red beams onto the ground, creating a visible safety zone or "no-go zone" around the vehicle. The illuminated area serves as a clear boundary that pedestrians are advised to avoid, signalling the presence of an operational forklift and the potential dangers associated with its movement.
Better Visibility and Safety for Pedestrians
Red zone warning lights significantly improve pedestrian visibility and safety by providing a visual indication of the forklift's operating area and potential hazards. The bright red beams are easily discernible even in busy or dimly lit environments, alerting pedestrians to the forklift's presence and prompting them to maintain a safe distance.
Creating a Visible Safety Zone
The primary function of red zone lights is to create a visible safety zone around the forklift, delineating an area that pedestrians should avoid to minimise the risk of accidents or collisions. By projecting clear red beams onto the ground, these lights define the boundaries of the forklift's operational space, enabling pedestrians to navigate around it safely.
The interesting aspect of the red zone forklift safety light is that the driver does not have to worry about the estimation the pedestrians have to make to keep themselves away from the lift truck. They need to see the danger line, and that’s it.
Benefits of Red Zone Lights
Enhanced Safety: Red zone lights provide a proactive safety measure by clearly defining the forklift's operating area and alerting pedestrians to potential dangers. This helps reduce the risk of accidents and injuries in the workplace.
Improved Awareness: By creating a visible safety zone, red zone lights increase awareness among pedestrians about the presence and movement of forklifts, encouraging them to exercise caution and remain vigilant in shared work areas.
Reduced Collisions: The clear delineation of a safety perimeter around the forklift helps minimise the likelihood of collisions or accidents involving pedestrians. Red zone lights serve as a visual cue for pedestrians to stay clear of the forklift's path, preventing potentially hazardous situations.
Compliance: Implementing red zone lights demonstrates a commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance. These lights align with safety standards and guidelines, contributing to a safer work environment and mitigating liability risks.

Advantages of Blue Spotlight and Red Zone Lights
The key factor is to create a safe working atmosphere around the forklift. The warning lights play an important role in:
• Blind intersections or corners where approaching vehicles or pedestrians can be difficult to spot.
• Reducing the chances of the pedestrians hitting by the rear end swing of a moving or turning forklift truck.
• Providing a safety cover against other speeding forklifts that may collide with the one having loads of goods.
• Enhancing productivity and efficiency, as fewer accidents mean fewer chances of distractions of fellow workers and uninterrupted workflow.
• Making your company compliant with the latest safety standards, also means the betterment of the brand value.

Ghost Letting You Watch Him Masturbate
Warnings: 18+, Smut, Desperate! Ghost, Touch-Starved! Ghost, Dominant! Ghost, Edging, Assisted Masturbation, Guided Masturbation, The Mask Stays On, No Pronouns Used For Reader Except ‘You’.
He loves the way you watch him so intently as his hand works the shaft of his aching cock, the tip red and angry as he staves off his orgasm just to let you watch for a little bit longer. You come closer, on hands and knees, and sit before him, just shy of the area between his legs. The danger zone.
The sound of squelching is obscene, as is the sight of his dick glistening with pre. If he pulled his hand away, strings of it would cling to his palm, beckoning – begging – him to return.
He can hardly refuse you when you ask him if you can touch it. Touch him.
He nods, pulls his hand away enough so that you can slip yours beneath his. His hand is sticky as it clamps down around yours. He guides you, starting out with light strokes, mindful of the euphoria building just below his stomach again. Raw. Fresh.
When you’re more confident in this rhythm, you grip him a little tighter. Look up into Ghost’s half-lidded eyes. He nods, but can’t find the energy to lift his head back up. He’s looking down at you, his mask concealing all but the lethargic lust in his eyes. And when you start to move faster, he thinks he can feel Heaven. His slick hand is tight – nigh crushing – over yours, making you squeeze him tighter, harder. God, harder.
And when your fingers graze the sensitive skin of his tip, his head almost rolls back, his eyes screwing shut. He gasps, and his breath shutters
He knows that this won’t be like all the other times when it was just him all alone in his room, or the barracks, or the showers. He can feel it in the rapid tightening of his balls, one hanging lower than the other, in the knotting in his stomach. He feels his vein twitch – the one you’d been so curiously eyeing earlier – when you gaze up at him from beneath your lashes, eyes soft. You come closer. Sat between his legs now. He’s oozing from the tip; an effect only you can have. He’d have been embarrassed were he not in the crosshairs of what he could tell would be one of the most excruciating orgasms he’s ever had.
He’s panting now, watching you as, with soft fingers, you work the tip, spreading his juices across it, down his shaft. When you come back up, clenching your fingers around his tip, he hisses. Jolts. When you try to retract, concern evident in the furrow of your brow, he snatches your hand back, gripping your wrist and enclosing your hand around him once more.
“Keep goin’,' he pants. His eyes glisten beneath the fluorescence of the dim bulb above you.
“Please.”
And you do. You squeeze and squelch and slide your hand along the length of him until your arm aches and his back is arching out of his chair, head lolling back as thick globs of cum spurt out from the tip. No warning. Just the explosion and its aftermath.
His grip around your hand tightens. You wince, but he doesn’t notice. He’s growling, guttural and animal, teeth gritted beneath his mask. He can feel his eyes strain with how far back into his skull they’ve rolled.
His stomach gradually becomes soaked in a viscous, milky spray. You’re sure you can see his shaft pulsating with every pump of his semen – like water through a pipe – emptying himself. Some of it gets caught in the hairs leading down from his belly button, thicker as they reach the pubic area.
His chest heaves. His hand is still around yours, looser now. But not by much. Keeping you there.
He musters the strength to look down at you again. Your eyes follow the beads of cum weeping from his tip as they cover his hand, staining the expanse of his scarred skin. He lets you go. Watches you watch the glossy beads of his release meet your hand. Warm and wet.
He’ll teach you how to take him with your mouth next time; teach you to work your tongue just how he likes it. He’ll watch you swallow all of him. He’ll forge the satisfaction of knowing that his cum will be swimming inside your stomach.
His. From the inside.
Heavy breathing; a hand tilting your chin up so your eyes meet his; a slim, crooked smile beneath his mask. He promises.

You feel so fucking stupid. Not because you did something wrong or made a fool of yourself (yet), but because this dumb problem you had was so childish. Even a 10-year-old is braver than you, a literal fucking Hunter!
You pout at the nightlight on your laptop. Sylus’s black card sat on your coffee table, just waiting to be used. And yet, the thought of using a card with access to millions of dollars (perhaps billions), just to buy a nightlight, halted you in your tracks, He hadn’t even said much about anything else you’ve bought before, and what he did say usually encouraged you to buy more expensive, lavish things. Surely, he wouldn’t flinch at this at all.
But that stupid, unrelenting voice in your head made buying the light impossible.
Which sucked.
It really, really sucked.
‘Cuz every time you stay in the N109 Zone in Sylus’s manor-slash-base, your room is so dark. Being in the lawless area doesn’t help, either. All the violence and danger you’d seen walking in the streets at night painted visions of stalkers in the corner, murderers with knives under your bed, and worse, just waiting for you to close your eyes and sleep.
But you don’t want to impose on the nice atmosphere Sylus has cultivated in his home. So you sleep with the light off, clinging to your blankets and telling yourself over and over again that nobody else is in the room.
Your phone buzzing interrupts your pity party. You shut your laptop and place it on the table next to the card. It buzzes again as you pick it up.
What’s wrong, sweetie?
I’ve only seen you make that face when a plushie falls out of the claw
You look up at your window. Sure enough, Mephisto’s red eyes greet you.
Stop spying on me >:(
Fine
The mechanical crow disappears from sight. You can just barely hear his caws as he flies off back to the N109 Zone.
But my question still stands
It’s nothing. Don’t worry about it
Sweetie, if someone says not to worry about something, people are going to worry about it
Damn him for giving you a chance to tell the truth. And damn your brain for reminding you that if you tell him the truth, he’d probably laugh at you. What does he have to worry about when he sleeps anyway? He’s already a light sleeper, but he also sleeps during the day, when creeps skitter from shadow to shadow. He wouldn’t understand.
Like I said, it’s nothing
Nothing happens for a few moments. The little dots to signify he’s typing don’t even show up. You can’t help wondering what he’s doing. What he’s thinking.
Maybe he’s getting ready to start the night, getting into his car so Luke and Kieran can drive him around to his many business dealings. Or maybe he’s picking out a vinyl from his shelf, taking it from the paper casing with a delicacy only shared with you, and setting it up on his phonograph. Or maybe he’s mimicking you: sitting on the couch, staring at the phone, wondering what to say next.
The dots appear, finally.
Come to the N109 Zone, kitten
Let me cheer you up
If Mephisto was still lurking around, he’d have seen just how fast you packed your things and hopped onto your bike.
Yes, the N109 Zone is dark and scary and extremely dangerous at the best of times. Yes, you’d be forced to sleep in the dark once again. Yes, your mind would play tricks on you and you’d probably stay up all night anyway.
But Sylus is there. And you haven’t seen him for almost a week. Who could blame you for jumping at the opportunity to spend time with him now?
-
Sylus greets you at the door with an amused smirk. “You got here fast.”
You playfully glare at him, smacking his chest as you pass by. “There wasn’t any traffic,” you tease.
The manor is as dark as usual. If it’s not black, it’s dark red. If it’s not dark red, it’s the occasional white furniture or golden accent.
Sylus trails behind you as you beeline it straight to your room to drop off your stuff. He leans in the doorway as you toss your bag onto the plush bed. “You seem to be in a better mood now,” he hums.
“I always feel better when I get to see you.” You smile up at him. It’s a soft remark. Genuine. Not the usual joking, back-and-forth banter you’re usually all too happy to supply during your visits.
His expression melts into something just as tender. Just as honest. He casually pushes himself off the doorframe and crosses the few steps it takes to get to you. His hands cradle you like one of his precious antiques, tilting your face up while he cranes his neck until the world has shrunk to just this moment.
He grins. His eyes keep glancing down at your mouth. You grab onto his waist. Your fingers curl into his soft red sweater, desperate to keep him this close. His lips brush against yours, stealing the air from your lungs.
“Then let me make it worth your while.”
-
It’s still dark when you wake up. The navy blue behind the curtain carries no hint of light, reassuring your sleep-addled brain that there is still plenty of time before day.
You roll over, silk sheets caressing your bare form, fully intending to go right back to sleep. Cold air slips underneath the blanket. You shiver and pull it tighter around you. Without thinking, you reach out toward the other side of the bed. It’s too large for just one person. The bed is cold beneath your fingers, even as you reach out farther.
You blink open your eyes, blearily staring into the darkness, searching for some answer you can quite grasp yet.
What are you reaching for…?
You turn your face into your pillow, determined to ignore that strange feeling in your gut and enjoy the last hours of the night. The rich scent of bourbon and vanilla catch on the edge of your senses. It smells just like Sylus…
You open your eyes again. Where’s Sylus?
Your fingertips brush the edge of the bed as you reach out. A discordant chord of terror strikes in your heart as you quickly pull your hand back. Thoughts of something reaching out to grab you flood your mind. Your heart races, chasing off the last ounces of sleepiness from your body.
You pull the blanket even tighter around you, curling it under your feet and tucking it into your sides until you’re in a cocoon of safety. No matter how hard you strain your eyes, you can’t see anything. But in your mind, everything can see you.
You curl up into a pitiful ball.
You could get up, but you can’t. What if something grabs your ankles?
You could grab your phone, but you can’t. What if something is waiting in ambush and your phone is the bait?
You could do a thousand things to get out of this darkness. But you can’t, for a million reasons.
The door knob slowly turns. The only indication the door has opened at all is the sound of the lower edge brushing against the carpeted floor. No light comes in from the hall. It’s all pitch black. The door clicks shut.
You hold your breath.
Footsteps. Large, heavy footsteps. They don’t stomp. You’re not sure if it would be better if they did. They creep around the side of the bed.
You don’t move.
Weight shifts the mattress. Slowly. Deliberately.
Your heartbeat pounds in your ears. You strain to hear anything else.
Something slides over your blankets.
You squeeze your eyes shut so tight you see spots. You bite your lip to avoid making sound.
The something - a hand, you think - wraps around your waist.
You flinch.
Oh god, oh god, oh god. They’re gonna know you’re awake. They’re gonna cover your mouth or stab you or put a pillow over your face or-
“Kitten?”
Your body shudders as you finally let yourself breathe. You grab your pillow as you quickly sit up and swing it at the face of your lover.
“I thought you were gonna fucking kill me?!”
Sylus laughs, chucking the pillow back onto your side of the bed. You can’t see him in the dark, but your body can’t stop taking in every ounce of him that it can. His smell - the bourbon and vanilla tinged with a natural musk. His voice - that rich, lively sound of his laugh and the breaths he takes. His touch - his hand, trailing patterns over the blanket at your hip.
You crawl toward him, clinging to his chest like a koala. He’s still shirtless from your escapades. His hand slides to your back, pulling you in tighter to him. You can feel the rumble of his voice in his chest. You press your ear against him to hear more.
“Why would you think that?” he asks once he’s gathered himself.
You don’t answer. You squeeze him tighter.
“Sweetie?” The amusement is replaced with concern. His other arm wraps around you. The muscles tense with the slightest effort. He says your name.
Relief settles heavy in your bones. Tears prick at your eyes, while you remain utterly powerless to stop them. “It’s too dark,” you whimper. It’s all you can think to say.
His arms tighten around you as he rolls onto his back, pulling you on top of him like you weigh nothing. He begins playing with your hair. “Does it scare you?” he asks softly.
You nod. You pull one of your hands out from around him to wipe the tears off your face and his chest.
God, you feel so fucking pathetic.
“Why didn’t you tell me sooner?”
You don’t answer. His chest rises and falls with you on it, moving with his sigh. He pulls your hand away from your face and replaces it around him. You want to fight it. Complain about how gross it is to get all your tears on him. But he shushes you gently and you can’t find the strength to try.
“Do you want to go downstairs?”
You nod again.
The world shifts as he sits up with you. He pries you off of him so he can stand up, but he doesn’t go far. He grabs his sweater off the ground and helps you put it on. Then he goes through your dresser for some clean underwear. He helps you stand and slides them on. You don’t open your eyes. You don’t want to see the darkness. So you hold onto his shoulders. You put all your trust into him, and he refuses to betray it.
He lifts you into his arms like you’re a damn princess. Usually, he’d throw you over his shoulder, but not this time. This time he’s careful, treating you with the utmost care as he carries you down the stairs and to the living room. With a wave of his fingers, the lights turn on, black and red left in its wake.
“It’s not dark anymore,” he promises as he sits down. You keep your face safely tucked into his neck. He rests his cheek on your head. His fingers go back to your hair. His other hand rubs patterns against your bare thigh.
After a while, your terror finally dissipates completely. You can see the light shining through your closed eyelids. Feel its subtle warmth against your skin. When you find the strength to open your eyes, the warm, comfortable ambiance of Sylus’s home greets you once more.
You use the sleeve of his sweater to wipe at your face. “I’m sorry.” Your voice cracks. You cringe with embarrassment. “It’s stupid, I know.”
He hums noncommittally. “Is this what you were telling me not to worry about?” he asks instead.
You nod. “I was looking at… at nightlights,” you admit in a murmur.
“What kind?”
“Hm?” You pull back to look up at him. He lets you, meeting your gaze with a soft seriousness. “What d’you mean?”
He smirks slightly, eyebrow quirking upward. “I mean, what kind of nightlight would you like, sweetie? Fairy lights, a wall light, one of those animal-shaped ones that glows…”
You frown and look away. “You’re teasing me, aren’t you?”
“I’m asking,” he cups your cheek and guides your face to look at him, “so I can buy you one. Now, will you tell me, or do I have to buy every single nightlight on the market?”
You laugh despite yourself. “I have it pulled up on my laptop…”
He grins. “Good.” He pulls you into a chaste kiss. “Don’t hesitate to buy it next time. Or to tell me what’s wrong. If there’s one thing I can’t stand, it’s a sad kitten.”

Who Says Money Can't Buy Happiness? (Part 6)
Sylus x right hand man!reader
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | ao3
Summary: You can't have just one peaceful day, huh? Something had to go wrong after a good morning.
After a week or so of doing what Dr. Zayne had prescribed of you, you woke up more refreshed now, which is a good thing. Before you had left his office, you’d taken a hold of his number so that he could monitor your pulse. You confessed to him that it wasn’t necessarily your heart, but the pulse points at your wrists, which is probably the reason why he chose to keep in touch in the first place. Well, either that, or that he knew that you were close with MC, so if she ever contacted you first, you could tell him how she was doing.
So, he added that before sleeping, it would be a good idea to calm yourself down with a good book, and drink some camomile tea to soothe your nerves. It had you sleeping like a baby, and when you woke up, you felt better than you did yesterday.
You picked up your phone in order to update the doctor.
you
thanks for the recommendation of the tea, dr
feel much better now lol
It didn’t take long for him to reply back.

Anytime.
Just keep on calming yourself down before sleeping.

You glanced outside, the red moon of the forever night brighter than usual. Today felt like a good day to take a walk along the N109 Zone’s border. It was a good in-between of the unusual home you had at the gleaming mornings of your day job. Plus, what’s a little exercise before going to work—
Wait. It was your day-off today.
You let out joyous laughter, laying back down as you stared at the small chandelier just above your bed. Could this day get any better?
—--
You raised your arms high into the air, a sigh of satisfaction coming out from your lips. It had been a while since you decided to take a walk along the border, and honestly, it’s been a while too long.
You started off your pace slow, small steps as breathed in the fresh air blowing from Linkon City. You couldn’t help yourself when a little giggle left you, feeling your heart float. You weren’t quite sure where this sudden burst of giddiness came from, but you welcomed it all the same; when working for the most infamous leader, moments like this are hard to come by.
With this rare instance of peace and tranquility, you could tell that your heart began to beat slower than normal, understanding that you were relaxed for the first time in a couple months or so. The feeling of actually having the chance to rest was too liberating to give up, so you forced yourself not to think about Sylus, or MC, or Aries, or anything that could possibly give you stress or anxiety.
The soft wind ran through your hair, making it sway towards the N109 Zone’s side of the border. You couldn’t care less, though; not with the morning light kissing your cheeks.
Of course, however, given your misfortune, you felt a wave of metaflux surge around you, making you groan. You hadn’t even brought your best day-to-day weapon today! All you had strapped to you (since it was strapped to you at all times) was the simple gun that the Association provided you, a little more than half the ammo right beside it, and a small dagger knife Sylus had gifted you a long time ago.
You let out a groan of annoyance the moment your wrist beeped a warning. You didn’t know how you managed to convince your boss, but you barely wore your Hunter’s Watch; your ‘intuition’ (analyzation of surroundings and calculating possible routes of danger) being accurate enough for Jenna to trust you to not wear it.
A tick of your jaw clicked in your ear, mimicking the sound of your gun cocking. Your eyes sharpened, darting around everywhere to scan the area for Wanderers. They were near, and attracted to the scent of a human after possible days of not being fed. Or perhaps they were hungry for something else.
The bushes behind you ruffled, causing you to whip your head and aim barely beside the shrub before shooting, just in time as the Wanderer’s failed retreat. It hissed in pain at the bullets, but locked its glare at you, making you purse your lips. It was a Herte Knave, and this specific kind of Knave usually came in groups…
You shot another bullet at its other leg, causing its knees to buckle. Quickly, you shot at its companion’s feet, which was stepping on scrapped metal. It ricocheted into its body, right into its heart. With a cry, it fell, and your attention focused on assessing how many Wanderers were around you.
… 1 at your 12:00—the one you just weakened, 1 at your 10:00—the one you had shot twice, 2 at your 4:00, and 3 at your 8:00, one of them being an Advanced Knave.
You could handle this.
You were quick to run towards the Wanderer at your 12:00, persuading the other Wanderers to follow suit. Since most of them—aside from the Advanced one—were melee, they took your bait, rushing towards you at full speed. You stepped on the Herte Knave below you, making it scream and squelch as the last of its life drained out of it. And just as the other Knaves were about to attack,
You swiftly move backwards, causing all 5 of them to collide with one another. In their dazed state—as quick as that was—you aimed at the Advanced Knave, easily dodging its ranged attacks.
You targeted the Advanced Knave immediately, knowing that if you were close enough, most of its attacks would be rendered useless. With one hand, you carried the Hunter’s gun, and in the other, you unsheathed Sylus’ dagger, its beautiful Damascus Steel blade glinting before you sank it into the chest of the Wanderer, making it screech. You could hear the other Wanderers charging at you already, and you rolled your eyes at the nuisance.
Your foot kicked the Wanderer down, effectively slipping the dagger out of its flesh cleanly. It stayed there as the monster struggled to get out of your weight on that foot, and you made sure to shoot it in its head before shooting the other Wanderers in their hearts. Some of them fell immediately, but the remaining two were resilient; it may be better to kill them with the dagger.
And so you did.
With a stomp to ensure that the Wanderer you had just killed with a headshot remained dead, you used that as leverage to speed up your sprint towards the two Knaves, dagger easily stabbing through their throats. As they fell down to their demise, your melee weapon was difficult to wrench out of one of their necks, leaving it there.
And with the final gush of their blood, the Wanderers were finally killed and dead for good, and you heaved in a sigh. Great, now you have to wash your dagger again. You kneeled down at the Herte Knave with the dagger in its neck, placing your gun back in its holster. Its tip felt hot against your thigh despite the thick elastic fabric distinguishing it from your bare skin.
Then, out of nowhere, you felt a sharp pain slicing through your other thigh, making you let out a guttural scream. You turned towards the other Wanderer, whose sword was about to cleanly cut your leg in half vertically. It was quick when you stabbed it one more time in its heart, and it dropped slack, no more resistance in its bones.
Fuck, you could barely even stand with how much pain you were in. you had no choice but to remove your shirt, using your already bloodied dagger to stab a hole into it, making you able to rip it into long strips. With careful and shaky hands, you wrapped it around your thigh, and you cursed when the wound was too big for your shirt to fully cover it. But this will have to do for now. Even if you could already see the blood seeping out of the makeshift bandage.
You didn’t even realize your eyes were tearing up until you tried to stand up. With a loud curse, your knees buckled, causing you to kneel once more. The impact of your knees hitting the hard ground traveled to your thigh, making you suck in a breath at the pain. You had to use something as a temporary cane… Ah, yes, the sword that sliced you in the first place would do.
You stood up with great effort, wincing and groaning throughout it. You placed the blunt end of the sword under your armpit as support, the tip of it digging into the dry dirt of the borders securely.
How far was home from here again?
—--
You quietly (as quietly as a person with a severe wound could) entered through the staff door that was tucked away somewhere in the back of Sylus’ base. A lot of the people there looked at you, clearly and rightfully alarmed, but you raised a shaky hand, pinching your pointer and thumb and running it across your lips, telling them to not speak a word.
They preferred you more than Sylus, anyway.
And with that, you were able to go to one of the vacant labs deep underground in Sylus’ base, immediately grabbing all of the tools needed to properly dress your wound. The staff knowing about your condition was inevitable, given they would notice the soiled shirt in the trash anyway. However, you did not want any of Sylus’ doctors to know; they reported everything to him. At least with the staff, you could plead to them to stay silent, but his doctors were relentless.
You sat down on one of the high tables, placing the leg with a wound on its thigh on a stool. The materials were right beside you, but you were just staring at the dripping blood pooling beneath your leg. You had to force yourself to not let any of your tears drip as your wound stung terribly, the flesh around it pulsating as your body desperately tried to fend off any potential infections from dressing the wound in unsanitary ‘bandages’. With shaky and slightly numb hands, you put on latex gloves. This shouldn’t hurt so much; you’ve been through worse. But you were usually under some kind of numbing agent, or under actual good hospital care provided by the Association. Nobody cared if you screamed until your lungs gave out.
But you couldn’t do that now.
Keep yourself quiet, keep yourself quiet, you chided, hissing when you began cleaning the wound, first with unscented, mild soap and water, and then Isopropyl alcohol. It solicited a small whimper from you, and you had to grab a towel from somewhere to bite down on it, muffling any slight noises you made.
You took a deep breath, staring at the thread and needle in your hands. Could you really do this without anesthesia?
The first stitch that had penetrated you almost made you scream, your hand tensing against the needle driver. You bit down on the towel so hard you couldn’t feel any saliva in your mouth anymore. Push through.
You were glad that you were taught how to suture wounds by Sylus’ doctors long ago. It wasn’t mandatory at all, since you knew that Sylus would most probably just carry you to the nearest doctor that was available. But you insisted on learning, if ever something like this happens. If ever you planned on ‘escaping’ and suddenly found yourself injured.
The thought of you even considering escaping distracted you a little, as it made you giggle a bit. 5 years ago and you were still thinking of leaving such a luxurious place like this.
You had 3 stitches tied and secured already. But with how big the slash was, you had assumed you needed… 8 more?
The more you worked against yourself, the more you could feel your stomach churn and your forehead dampen. The area burned white with how much it stung, especially after the endless amount of times you punctured yourself with the sharpest needle on Earth.
Well, it wasn’t. But it might as well be without anesthesia.
Finally, after a slow 10 minutes and painful trudges through the necessary procedure, it was stitched. Finally, it was stitched.
The room was deathly silent, only making the ringing of your ears even more piercing. Your hand slipped slightly with how it was slowly losing its grip, but you managed to place a long strip of gauze over the now neat, clean wound, though slightly jagged from the Wanderer’s sword. Your mouth was dry, your tongue flat against the cloth in your mouth, and you bit down even harder.
Your blood soaked through the first piece of gauze too easily. Too quickly. With a muted curse, you placed another strip, but this time with more conviction; you were slowly regaining your grip.
And so, you grabbed the bandage, finally easily able to wrap it around your thigh. The process was slow, painstaking, and you wouldn’t have been able to deny the times you would force yourself to peel your eyes away from your wound to let your liquid pain drip down onto the cold lab table.
Two more wrap-arounds and you were finished. Two more wrap-arounds and you were finished. Two more…
You swallowed thickly as you removed the towel in your mouth, sweat beading your forehead. The corners of your vision began to glitch, your physical exhaustion consuming you. But you had to push through; you were already done dressing your wound up. Quietly. Discreetly. Alone.
It took you a while to clean everything up, to remove the smell of blood from the room. You had grabbed a broom to place under your armpit once more and walked towards your room, which took another 20 minutes. Luckily, throughout the way there, a couple of servants had helped you, though secretly. It was like they didn’t want you to know.
But there wasn’t really anything that could get past your eyes.
—--
The moment you opened the door to your room, you noticed a small plate of your favorite food on your nightstand, still clearly fresh. A smile placed itself on your face; of course the chef knew, too.
You sat down on your bed, the mattress dipping. You didn’t hesitate to take a bite of your food, sighing in pleasure when you tasted the familiar sense of warmth spreading around your body. You laid down to rest your back on the headrest, a hand going down to your bed. There was a file on it, something you didn’t notice through the daze of blood loss you just went through.
You skimmed through it, right wrist beeping softly at the new information. So that’s what Sylus wanted to do…
Something uneasy and unsettling bubbled in your stomach. Not out of jealousy, though, no, totally not. But rather out of concern for MC’s health. How is Sylus so sure she can handle a mission like this?
You needed to reason out with him, surely.
…
Could you walk like this?
—--
The gunshot was what made you narrow your eyes, your hand hesitant on the door handle. Was there a special client he had to have taken care of in his bedroom ? You knew you shouldn’t doubt your boss as just his subordinate, but when have you ever actually taken that role as serious as that?
So, you opened the door, ready to dispose of a dead body despite your leg, when all of a sudden,
“Oh.” Your heart sank even if you had forced your body not to. Sylus was on top of MC in just his robe, pinning her wrists down. A pink cloud that had the words ”LOVE” written in it was right above them, making your mouth dry.
Sylus cocked his head ever so slightly when he heard your voice, and he raised a brow. “Darling, you should know when to knock.” There was that stupid teasing tone when he spoke, as if taunting you to go batshit crazy.
MC, who came to the conclusion that you two were probably an item of some sort (well, what should she have assumed when he called you darling?), looked rather distressed, immediately pushing Sylus off (or at least attempting to). “Wait! Wait, Nyx, this isn’t what it looks like! I-I needed to get a brooch so I could go to the next auctio—”
“I’m sorry for bothering you both,” your voice hung low with forced professionalism as you bowed your head softly, closing the door
Sylus’ grip weakened at your words, disappointed that you had submitted so easily to what was going on. MC wasn’t having it, though, so the moment she felt his grip against your wrists falter, she slipped away with agility, running towards the door whilst shouting your ‘name’. But it was too late; when she opened the door, you were already gone.
So after she closed the door again, she stood there, anger boiling under her skin. And before Sylus could even sneak in a snarky remark, she marched towards him, making him tilt his head.
And to say that Sylus was caught off guard was an understatement.
MC’s slap barely made him turn his head, but it still stung nonetheless. He could tell she was fuming, especially since he’d never seen her this mad so far.
“You did not tell me Nyx was your lover .” She said in a low voice, as if restraining herself from doing anything bad. “Why do you treat her like she’s just one of your lowly workers?” Sylus opened his mouth to speak, but MC cut him off with a finger. “And why did you do something so suggestive when you had a girlfriend this entire time?”
“You were the one trying to look for the brooch in my bedroom.” He calmly stated, crossing his arms. “And she is not my lover.”
MC scoffed, rolling her eyes. “I only wanted to steal that damn brooch because I need it to go around the N109 Zone. Didn’t you tell me that yourself? Plus, you were the one insisting that I find it instead of just giving it to me. And I don’t believe she’s your lover. Your grip weakened when she came in. Surely that means something , right?”
Her grasp of the brooch tightened. “The auction isn’t that far from now, and as of the moment, I will go with you. That never changed. But,” she glanced at the door, pursing her lips. “Know your boundaries, Sylus.”
She left the room, pinning the brooch onto her shirt by herself before slamming the door, leaving Sylus in his bedroom, for once speechless.
—--
The tears that came from your eyes were not from the wound you had gotten an hour or three ago. Rather, it came from a more internal wound.
You clicked your tongue as tears dripped onto the dark hallway, MC’s voice quieting the more you walked away. The adrenaline of it all began to wear off, making you lose your balance slightly. You hugged the wall to your left with a thud, but it only hit your thigh, making you seethe in pain. Angry tears blurred your vision, but even with that, you were able to make out the two familiar figures, as well as their voices.
“(Name)!” Luke exclaimed, hooking your arm around his shoulders. “Hey, hey, hey, what’s going on? Are you okay?” He pried you off of the wall, and you nodded your head, taking a deep breath. “I’m fine,” you replied, but the quiver in your voice gave you away.
Kieran glanced at the way you kept your left leg on your toes instead of flat against the floor. He was quick to do the same that Luke did with your other arm, essentially making the pressure against your leg alleviate just a bit. “But you don’t look fine. Is there something wrong with your leg—”
“I said I’m fine.” You snapped, taking a sharp inhale before speaking again to keep your composure. “I… I had a little fight with Wanderers a couple hours ago, and my leg is…”
“Bleeding?” Kieran asked you, making you narrow your eyes and tilt your head. “Well, technically. But what do you mean?”
“Well,” Luke stared at your left thigh. “It’s—It’s bleeding. Like seeping through your clothes.”
“What? ” You quickly glanced at your leg and realized that you probably pulled a couple of stitches, making you hiss at the realization. Fuck, that means you’d have to redo everything all over again.
You bit your lip when the twins sat you down on your bed (you weren’t sure how you didn’t notice the walk there) before looking at them. “You two know how to suture, right?”
They nodded hesitantly, exchanging glances with each other.
“Get the supplies, especially the anesthesia, or a number agent, no matter how mild it is. Please. ”

Jamie, J Burrow
summary; he just misses her.
warnings; heavy angst, alcohol abuse, swearing, mentions of bars and driving under the influence, talk of loss of loved one's. all around sad stuff.
word count; 1k
note; this is inspired by one of my favorite songs at the moment, Jamie by Zach Bryan ft. Charles Wesley Godwin, feel free to listen as you read for the best experience. i did cut it short because i'm not killing off joe, sue me.
please let me know if i missed anything in the warnings and if any of the warnings mentioned above may even slightly trigger you, please skip this work. there will be a fluffy one-shot of the burrow's coming soon for those who choose not to read. <333
There ain't much a war when it's 4:34 With the man you were before that bar door.
This Joe wasn't who he used to be. Drowning his sorrows in whiskey or any hard alcohol he could get his lips on was never his way of grief. Never had he ever been such a heavy drinker in all of his time in this world. He doesn't even like to drink. But love drives people to do the unimaginable, unfortunately for him, Joe Burrow was no exception to that fact.
No one loves you enough to give you a ride and your cars sittin' right outside, Oh, Jamie
Given the time no one was answering his calls and he wasn't in the right might set to find any friends who were willing to go with him and be the designated driver. Joe's made a few mistakes in his life, drunk driving was never on the list of those. He learned from a young age that was never a good decision.
Keep your tires between the ditches And your eyes peeled on the road.
Unknowingly, Joe swerved the expensive BMW that used to belong to his wife, driving it gave him a slight sense of relief. He used to always drive it, never alone though, she always in the passenger seat. She never liked being away from him, always loving just being in his presence.
There's two more minutes before you're back home.
The bar he chose to drown his feelings in drinking at was just seven minutes from their his expensive home. Going back there was always dreaded, especially knowing the one he once loved wouldn't be snuggled up in his clothes waiting on his arrival. He's not sure how he's driven the five minutes, his minds more clouded by liquor than it's ever been.
Don't 103 feel so free? You always loved the revelry Oh, Jamie
His wife was always one to get him out of his comfort zones, introducing him to new things. One thing she could never get him into was partying. She always used to tell him about the parties she had went to when they were back in high school, Joe never could imagine jeopardizing his nearly spotless career, so he settling for story telling.
The flashing red and blue in a cracked rear view.
"Goddammit," he murmured, pressing his foot down a bit harder as the cop's light flashes along his clammy face. As if his life could get anymore difficult, the last thing he needs is a DUI charge against him. The cracks of her rear view mirror obstructed his line of sight ever so slightly, he remembers the call he got from her stressed about the crack in her mirror. He was quick to reassure that it was the cold or something.
He remembers the smile he once owned.
Joe used to be the happiest man on the planet. He had a great upbringing, the perfect wife, a baby on the way, anything a man could ever ask for and then some. There was almost never any complaints from him about anything. He was simply content all the time. He used to smile until his cheeks would hurt, now the only expression he made was when the burn of his drink of choice hit him.
But he ain't gonna stop for any cop, from here to damn near Wichita County.
If he gets caught in this act. his excuse'll be that there was no where to pull off. There's no way he could pull him over in this area, maybe he'll understand how close he is to the neighborhood? What Joe couldn't seem the grasp was the fact that he was driving so dangerously, the cop who saw him to he was out of his mind and needed to be stopped immediately.
I'll go tonight, boys. I don't mean no harm. I just miss my lovin' lady and layin' in her arms. (2x)
The only thing his mind was on was her and the baby girl who he never got to properly meet or hold. His girls.
'Cause there's a tombstone hidden in a place that he don't visit.
Every time he took the tiny dirt road back to the secluded place he chose to lay them, his heart broke impossibly more. Life could never be the same for him, everyone knew it. The funeral gutted him from the inside out, seeing her their completely lifeless made his breath catch. Panic set in pretty quickly and all he saw was black.
Where the love of his life was laid to rest, he'll make it there by dusk that is where they'll draw their guns, Oh, Jamie.
He felt heavy, like he was carrying burden on him at all times or maybe he was the burden. His eyes blurred with tears that he was quick to wipe away. The blue and red lights followed him the entire way to his destination, no shock there though.
Cause this life ain't worth livin' if the love that you've been given is taken before you are.
There was nothing left for him. No one to come home to, no one to call his own, no one to run his mouth about to his friends. nothing, just a canyon in not only his heart but his soul. Nothing could fill this, no amount of booze or therapy could fix the pain he felt at this time. He's tried it all and failed every single fucking time.
Now Jamie is dancin' and spinnin' around his baby in the stars.
He had this analogy. That they were watching him, dancing around in the clouds and painting every sunset to keep him going. Even the simplest of tasks felt impossible in his situation.
I'll go tonight, boys. I don't mean no harm. I just miss my lovin' lady and layin' in her arms. (2x)

Heart On A Leash
Content warning: violence/language
The night was coming as the sky darkened the streets. Lamp lights bursting into life humming filling the busy streets of the pride district. The glimmering lights of high fashion businesses filled the dark streets with a sense of life. Casting golden lights onto black pavement.
Of corse Kitty found herself here picking up a new suit from Alastor’s tailor. He always sent her on these little tasks as he was far to busy to bother with such mundane things. Of corse she has to do what ever he asks, he snaps his fingers and she quickly goes into getting what ever he asks completed in a speedy and accurate manner. Her contract had been signed years ago, signing her soul away for powers to protect herself in the war zone that was hell.
She was a visage to behold in these modern times, looking as if she had stepped off the pages of a 1920s fashion magazine. Wearing a layered chiffon green dress, and a pair of short heels. Her hair wild and free bright auburn in color. It was only tamed slightly by a matching green head band. Her large fox ears were perked and flicked listening to various sounds around her as she moved carrying his suit. Sinners gave her passing glances, mostly that of lust. She rolled her eyes. *try me* she thought.
She was eager to get back to the hotel, where it was safe. Kitty much rather preferred going out with Alastor. People fled from him, and she didn’t have to worry about being bothered. She kept alert turning a corner.
A large wolf sinner cornered her suddenly “well well what’s the hurry baby?”
Her red eyes narrowed looking up at him. “Pardon you.” She said slipping out and away from him. She felt a hand on her wrist jerking her back
“I wasn’t done talkin with you sugar. Where you headed so fast?” He grinned showing rows of sharp teeth.
Even in this life men didn’t know how to obey the word no. She bared her fangs. “I said. Pardon you.”
“Oh hohoh feisty. I can get with that” he grinned down at her. She felt his hands on her hips and she bristled. Oh hell no.
She leaned setting Alastor’s suit aside. Her bracelet she wore hummed and emitted static sounds. *yeah yeah I’ll be quick. I got this one* she could tell Alastor was spying on her sensing danger.
In a flash kitty had a knife in her hand and at the larger sinner’s throat “when a lady says no, and you go ahead and touch her anyway~ there’s really no other solution “ she laughed. In a flash she felt blood spray in her face. Her eyes were dark. The sinner stumbled back grabbing at his throat. He fell back onto the ground. Her heel pressed into his throat as she snarled down at him. “Don’t fuck with the radio demon.” Was all she said before spitting on him.
She put her knife away. She grabbed his suit and stood collecting her self “trash~” she said stepping over his body as he died. Hell was so much like Earth sometimes.
The magic eye radio bracelet around her wrist crackled with static and faintly she could hear through it “kitty~”
She sighed “I know. I know…..you said no distractions. I know you have the meeting tonight with the Overlords.”
She would more than likely receive and ear full for being late, but it was worth it to put that sinner down. Before long she found herself entering the radio tower connected to the hotel. Closing the door behind her she was greeted with “you’re late”
“I’m sorry there was this sinner who cornered me and was getting handsy.” She said sighing. “I did not get blood on your suit.” She said handing it over to him.
Alastor looked down at her his eyes heavy lidded like he was judging her. His grind widened on his face “you always did look rather pretty in crimson~” he said in a flirtatious tone.
Well he seemed amused. So maybe no talking to this time. “I know how much you love red darling~” she smirked. She moved into the hall way from the office area. She sighed softly heading into the bathroom. When she killed he always made her come in through the radio tower as not to startle Charlie. She pursed her lips “kitty….what am I gonna do with you.” She mused. Grabbing a cloth she began to wash her face of blood making sure it get every drop. Sensing his presence in the door way her eyes looked behind her in the mirror.
He was standing there grinning “hm. There you go. I need you to be ready in ten minutes to come take notes for me.” His tone sounded a little tired.
“You didn’t sleep again did you.” She said turning to face him scolding him as if he were a child.
His ears flicked at her chastising words. “I have a lot on my plate right now, Cher”
“You need sleep otherwise your brain won’t work.” She sighed heavily “alright give me a few minutes.” She walked past him. He grinned at her. She made her way into the small kitchen area and started brewing coffee.
How could he miss out on sleep again? He wouldn’t be sharp for the meeting today. *stubborn idiot* she thought to herself. She stood at the counter listening to the coffee maker boil and hiss.
Alastor came into the kitchen again watching her curious.
“Have you nothing more pressing than following me around, darling~” she said teasing him
He grinned towering over her “oh but darling. It is my utmost duty to pester you at all times~”
Kitty let out a groan. She pinched the bridge of her nose “you can do that but not sleep?” She said clicking her tongue to her teeth.
She felt his finger under her chin suddenly lifting her gaze to his. He smirked down at her his eyes burning into hers. Her face flushed lightly at the sudden act
“Hmmm.” His eyes bore into her. His hand caresses her face lightly “seems you have missed a spot. Getting sloppy, darling~” he teased. He loved pushing her buttons.
She smacked his hand away her face flushed. He simply laughed at the reaction. She poured him a coffee and shoved it into his hands “asshole.” She said before storming off to change. Her face felt heated.
Alastor simply cackled as she stormed off. He took the coffee and started sipping it. “Thanks darling~”

This one’s written in the narrative and perspective of phantom
Warnings: mistreating ghouls
After hours of talking with him I had to leave, I didn’t want to but I also didn’t want to stress papa out more then he already is. I wave goodbye to my new friend and tell them ill see them tomorrow. Once I get back to the practice room Swiss sees how I was zoning out as I tuned my guitar. “Hey ant, you doing ok today? You seem kinda outta it” Swiss asked me, I look up to him snapping out of the trance my mind had me in. “Hm? Oh, umm..yeah I’m all good….do you know of ghouls that, uhh, glow in the dark?” I ask him sounding more nervous than I meant to. “Oh, water ghouls? Has rain not told you about deep sea water ghouls before? You know how rain likes to brag about his element every now and then.” Swiss tells me before messing up my hair and walking to his makeshift mini stage. “I need to talk to rain!” I whisper to myself before getting up to my side of the practice stage. Practice felt like forever for once and I think the others could tell it was bothering me. After what felt like forever practice ended and I rush off to put my guitar away so I could catch up to rain, todays was his off day so sodo had offered to put his guitar up for him. Rain was already a good bit down the hall when I catch up to him panting from running. “You ok phant?” Rain asks me slowing down his walking, “I- haah- I wanted to ask you- huhh- shit- about deep sea ghouls.” I finally was able to spit out panting heavily. “Oh, sure, but I do wanna know why you wanna know, you can tell me back in my room if its like some kind of secret.” Rain says to me, he sounded slightly curious but willing to tell me. After a few minutes of walking and talking about random things we finally get to rains room, the lights where a lot more dark and had something covering them to make them a different color, it was like being underwater but not. I sit down on one of rains chairs in his mini living room, it was a cool little area, I hadnt thought of making a mini living room in my room before. Thats beside the point though, once rain sits down on his couch he asks me “so, what’s got you interested in deep sea ghouls all of a sudden? You usually dont care for this kind of thing.” I look over to rain almost jumping before saying “you remember the ghoul that was summoned a few weeks ago?” Rain looks at me thinking for a second, “wait, wait, are you saying the ghoul that we all where told was feral and dangerous, is not only a deep sea water ghoul, but also not so dangerous?” He says to me. “Yeah, he’s not at all what she said, they’re really nice, and funny, but they-“ rain cuts me off before I could finish “sensitive to light?” Rain finished fore me. “Yeah, I brought a lot of blankets down there to block out light and when they opened their eyes they stared at me like they had never seen a ghoul like me before” I pause for a bit before continuing “h-he also was glowing, the colors where so pretty but so dull, l-like they are sick, or hurt” I move my legs up in the chair hugging them now thinking about it more. Rain takes a second to think, “ant, dont freak out when I tell you this ok?” I nod looking towards rain instead of the floor. “That is a deep sea ghoul, they aren’t usually on the surface, like ever, he is probably hurt, what colors did he glow?” Rain asked me, I take a moment to think before responding “I think…purple blue and..red, does that mean anything?” I say hoping I remember correctly. “Okay, so they are hurt…I’ve got a idea, ok? But you’ve got to trust me” rain gets up and goes to his bathroom looking for stuff. “O-ok? But what are you going to do?” I ask confused. “Im going to help, you just have to trust me”

Wastelander
Feature Character: Warlord Odysseus Ashford Category: Oneshot Genre: Freeform Rating: 16+ Warnings: Slightly suggestive narration and dialogue. Nothing graphic or even particularly suggestive, but reader digression advised Word Count: Summary: Stay out of the eagle's path.
I spent my nights on melting snow
There is no good reason to enter the Wasteland Rift. The endlessly snowy expanse between the Plaguelands and the sea, once called Russia, was nothing but ruins, enemies, and cold. Maybe there was something worthwhile in the Moscow Dead Zone, but beyond that, it wasn't worth it. The House of Falcons ruled the area with an iron grip, and the few brave enough to defy them proved far more dangerous than any of the beasts or Fallen in the area.
But if there was some reason, whatever it may be, to enter the Wasteland Rift, there are a handful of rules any Lightbearer stupid enough to traverse the area needs to learn.
Chief among them, is under no circumstance should you enter the Wasteland Rift. Never miss the same shot twice. You'll die in the space between the second and third. Avoid the House of Falcons. They'll kill you and your Ghost. Watch the snow. There are drifts that'll swallow you whole if you step into them. Watch for the wild animals. They'll tear you apart given the chance. Never enter Lord Odysseus of the Rift's hunt ground.
One particularly unfortunate Lightbearer learned this final rule from the Lord himself.
He spotted them coming a mile away, bright red against the snow, like a splash of blood. He watched as they approached the ruins, perched atop, waiting until they were nearby to drop down.
He grabbed the New Light by the shoulder. "Don't move a muscle if you value your life," he snapped, twisting their arms. He slammed them against the wall, knocking their breath out of their lungs with the force.
"The hell brought you to the Rift?" he demanded. He had one hand holding their arms behind their back and another pressing a gun to their head.
The Lightbearer stutters slightly, unable to speak for a moment, too shocked at the sudden attack.
Odysseus slams them into the wall. "ANSWER," he snaps with malicious impatience.
"I- I came looking for loot. I heard the Moscow Dead Zone hadn't really been picked thr-" they stammered out.
Odysseus cuts them off with a kick to the leg. "Bad idea. You're in House of Falcons territory. And more importantly, mine." He leans in to their face, the cold sting of the air mingling with the warmth of his breath as he growled out a warning. “Stay out of my hunting grounds unless you want to become my next piece of prey,” he hissed through gritted teeth.
He steps back, releasing his hold by pushing them to the ground. “I won’t be so kind next time. So preserve what’s left of your worthless life, and start running,” he growled, standing over them with the menace of an experienced predator.
He kicked a gun towards them, his face twisted in a look between disgust, rage, and pity. “Or stay,” he added, voice low like an animal growling at it's prey. “And I sink my teeth into your throat.” The way he spoke, it sounded like he was offering some kind of favor or mercy.
The Lightbearer scrambled to grab the weapon and ran.
Odysseus huffed, watching them leave. Running like a rabbit from an eagle.
Good. The less in the Rift the better.
There is no good reason to enter the Wasteland Rift.

What Remains of the Night | Illinois x GN!Reader
Chapter 3
MASTERPOST
Warnings: possession (not reader), self-doubt/intrusive thoughts, pining
A/N: >:)
When a god’s domain is less revered, when sacrifices are made less and less, and when the very thing the god represents is shunned — the god weakens.
That’s the first thing you’re told as a god when your powers are bestowed upon you. And Night never thought he’d see what that truly meant.
The night is something that should be revered, a time of peace and rest, a time for joy and pleasure. But of course, that wasn’t what it was viewed as.
Fueled by tales of monsters lurking in the dark, the dangers of violence under the cover of darkness, the unknown, night time for mortals had just transformed into waiting in bated breath for the Sun to return, shaking in fear.
And the perception of his domain only got worse with the advent of modern technology. The stars in the sky were blocked by the light and smog of their advancements, and people stayed awake, almost as if the sacred time didn’t exist anymore. If he could feel his power draining before, now it was just a flicker.
Once, he was worshipped enough to have countless temples built. Today, only one is still standing. Even that structure has crumbled. Held together by what was left of Night’s powers, as well as an ancient artifact from the days beyond, and a few foundation rocks.
That was all the god had left until two visitors appeared one day.
***
Illinois woke in a cold sweat.
He had a dream about… them again. Lately, his dreams are always either about them, or violent nightmares enveloped in darkness. He desperately wants to forget the ones where those two overlap, but he can’t escape them.
Blinking wearily as he fully awoke in his unkempt apartment, reaching for his glasses and rubbing the bridge of his nose. He woke with a headache, again, and a glance at the empty side of his bed seemed to only make it worse.
It had been a couple of weeks since the incident at the ancient temple, and he missed waking up next to them, even if it only happened once. The night and morning felt peaceful again with them by his side. Now it was just…
The god, deity, spirit, whatever it was that took a hold of him and puppeted him in that temple had the mercy to let them go. At least, physically.
And no matter how much better he seemed with them, he still felt something he couldn’t shake. Something dangerous, lurking just beneath the surface of his skin. And who was he to burden them with that?
His wonderful partner didn’t need to know about the random flashes of red his eyes would take sometimes when he glanced in the mirror too quickly. How he had felt more exhausted than usual since the encounter. How he would sometimes zone out and find his body doing things he didn’t explicitly tell it to. He figured he was just sleepwalking and not getting good rest, or at least that’s what his brain wanted to believe. He didn’t want to worry them, or worse, hurt them.
He lazily got dressed and headed for the same destination he seemed to spend all his time at the last few days: the university library.
“Ah, Dr. Jones! Back at the books, huh? Applying for another Ph.D.?” The man at the front desk chuckled.
“Very funny, Gary. This place still closes at the normal time right? Holidays and all.”
“Yep, we’re kept here like hostages.” The man let out, a way too cheerful tone for the words he was saying as he raised his cup to the professor.
Illinois scoffed lightheartedly as he made his way through the large library. He traced a path to his usual spot, in the corner of one of the study areas by a window. Sunshine always helped him feel better.
And he was there until the sun was low in the sky, having to adjust as the bright rays of golden hour blinded his eyes at more than a few points, making him groan in frustration every time. He even contemplated wearing his sunglasses indoors.
He’s knee-deep into reading about ancient Hinduism and its spirits, looking for anything pertaining to red glowing eyes, possession, or some of the weird markings he vaguely remembers being on the temple wall before —
“Hey, you” a light punch to the arm accompanied the voice that was like music to his ears. You. “Avoiding me, huh?”
Closing the giant book he had laid out amongst his notes, he turn and smiled in the direction you were standing at the table and gave a soft greeting in return.
“So…. whatcha workin’ on?” you ask, eyes scanning across the pile in front of your partner.
“Just.. research,” he tried to wave it off dismissively.
"Ah, top secret. I get it,” you say teasingly through a soft laugh, “Come on, what are you reading? You look like you're drowning in it.”
“Something for the department, that’s all. Pretty boring actually.”
A soft hum left your lips as he felt his shoulders unconsciously slump. You bought the lie, thank goodness. He wasn’t ready to explain everything happening to him just yet.
“Well… I was just here returning some textbooks. It’s been a while, you wanna grab some coffee? My treat.”
God, of course, I do. I miss you so much. Just hearing your voice for the first time in what feels like forever is making everything seem normal again.
He might have looked too long because you add on an explanation from misinterpreting his reluctance “Oh I know it’s late, but I’ve gotta stay up anyway to finish this religion paper,” you glance back at him from checking your watch with a bashful smile.
Try as he might, he can’t say no to it.
The coffee place you picked is quaint, just a small little spot downtown, a few minutes' walk away from the library. The two of you strode side by side in the setting sun catching up on mundane things. You sat opposite one another once you arrived and placed your orders, content in the blissful stillness of the nearly empty patio while the street lamps switched on around you.
You eventually broke the silence, "So... I've been trying to reach you these last few weeks, everything ok?"
The worry in your voice made his heart flip and twist into something painful. There was no good option here. But he knew he was picking the lesser of the two evils.
"Yeah sorry about that, I've been busy with --"
Illinois is cut off by a pained noise that seems to surprise him. Sucking in through his teeth like he just burned himself and he pinches the bridge of his nose trying to alleviate the pain behind his eyes.
“Illi?”
He catches your glance, red embers in his eyes that weren’t present a few moments ago.
“Hello again, pet.”

Here’s what I’ve learned:
They issue these warnings on a county scale; the county I live in is a little under 1000 square miles. The area I care about on most days is maybe 1 square mile so I have a .1% chance that information is relevant to me. Now, after 30 years I’ve learned a bit about the weather patterns for the area so I know how to scale the weather accordingly (light drizzle? For north and south of me. Light rain? I’ll get a drizzle. Etc.)
What has helped me learn when to be concerned (you know, besides my eyes) is that my job required me to sign up for a red alert account because that’s how they issue weather related delays and closing information to employees. I was able to put my house and my work locations in and while the county’s getting an 8am to 1pm severe weather alert, I’ll get a text saying “severe weather alert for x location from 11:15am to 11:50am” then I’ll know if that location will be in the danger zone and when. And from experience, it’s pretty damn accurate.
weather apps are like SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING!! REMAIN INDOORS UNTIL actually it’s gonna drizzle lol sike. SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING. it may not rain actually. 9 INCHES OF RAIN INCOMING. 10% chance of rain. THIS STORM WILL BLOW YOUR COCK STRAIGHT OFF

Importance of Red Zone Danger Area Warning Lights
Forklifts serve a vital role in many industries for material handling and transportation. These versatile machines are used in warehouses, factories, construction sites, and many other settings to lift and move heavy loads from one location to another. Forklifts are equipped with long, metal prongs called forks, which lift and move pallets, crates, and other packaged goods. The forks are mounted on a mast, which can be raised and lowered using hydraulic controls. The operator sits in a cab at the front of the forklift and uses powers to manoeuvre the vehicle and manipulate the forks.
However, forklifts are not devoid of safety threats to the goods, equipment, pedestrians, and the operator. OSHA records 34,900 fatal and 61,800 non-fatal injuries caused by forklifts annually. Below listed are the primary hazards that forklifts pose across different industries.
Safety Hazards of Forklifts in Industries
Forklifts are prone to several hazards due to their size and working conditions, as listed below:
Collisions
Forklifts can collide with other vehicles, pedestrians, or stationary objects, which can cause serious injuries or fatalities. Operators should be trained to avoid collisions by paying attention to their surroundings and following safety protocols.
Falls
Falls from a forklift can occur if the operator loses control or if the forklift overturns. Operators should be trained appropriately to use the forklift safely. The forklift should be maintained in good working order to reduce the risk of falls.
Struck-by accidents
Forklifts can cause injuries if workers are struck by the vehicle or by objects being moved by the forklift. Operators should be trained to use caution while operating the forklift and to be aware of their surroundings at all times.
Caught-in/between accidents
Workers can be injured if they are caught between the forklift and another object or if they are caught in moving parts of the forklift. Operators should be trained to keep their hands and feet clear of moving parts and to use caution when driving the forklift.
Eradicating Low-Light Forklift Hazards
One of the common factors in the hazards listed above is the lack of visibility and proper warning signs for the crew, compromising the safety of on-ground pedestrians. This is where the LED lights for forklifts come in. Forklift safety lights are an essential safety feature that can help improve visibility and reduce the risk of accidents on the job. These lights are often used on forklifts, material handling equipment, and other industrial vehicles to improve visibility and alert other workers to the car's presence.
Primarily used in industries like logistics and large-scale warehouses, there are several different types of forklift safety lights, including headlights, tail lights, turn signals, and warning lights. Forklift safety lights are essential in low-light or poorly-lit environments, such as warehouses and factories. They can help improve visibility and make it easier for operators to navigate the workplace. They can also help alert other workers to the presence of the forklift, which can help reduce the risk of collisions and different types of accidents.
In addition to improving visibility and safety, forklift safety lights can also help improve efficiency on the job. By making it easier for operators to see their surroundings and navigate the workplace, safety lights can help reduce the risk of delays and accidents, which can help improve overall productivity.
Thereby, LED lights for forklifts are an essential safety feature that can help improve visibility and reduce the risk of accidents on the job. Employers should ensure that their forklifts are equipped with appropriate safety lights, and workers should be aware of the importance of using them to improve workplace safety and efficiency.
Introducing the Forklift Red Zone Light
Red Danger Warning Light creates a safety perimeter around the forklift to reduce the risk of foot injuries and collisions. These lights are mounted on either side of the vehicle. They project a bright red beam around the forklift, providing a visual cue to the crew and pedestrians to keep safe distance from an operating forklift to avoid accidents and injuries.

Importance of Forklift Red Zone Light for Your Industry
Prevents Forklift Accidents
The red danger light prevents forklift accidents by providing warning to the pedestrians from any direction. This is particularly useful in multiple blind corners and behind structures in busy workplaces. Primarily, these lights are useful in providing safety against collisions with the forklift's rear-end swing. Beside securing pedestrians and protecting them from being run-over, these forklift warning lights also secure the goods and merchandise transported with the forklift.
Clear Visibility Over Long Distances
Owing to the working conditions in industries and large warehouses, the workers might encounter several blindspots. Due to the sharp turns in several industries, pedestrians might fail to notice an approaching forklift before the intersection. Furthermore, workers are used to working in extremely noisy conditions, due to which a warning alarm might often be ineffectual. In such cases, the bright LED light used in the forklift red zone warning lights can serve as a reliable visual cue for an approaching forklift. The colour red is proven to scatter the least and is hence visible over long distances to warn the pedestrians.
Increased Productivity
Assured protection from forklifts allow workers to move heavy loads quickly and efficiently, significantly increasing productivity. Thus, forklift red danger lights improve the efficiency of material handling and transportation processes, which is especially important in fast-paced industry environments.
Employers should ensure that their forklifts are equipped with appropriate red danger lights, and workers should be aware of the importance of using them to improve workplace safety and efficiency. Proper use of forklift red danger lights can help reduce the risk of accidents and injuries on the job and can help improve overall safety in the workplace.

Let’s throw a party!: a short story
(warning mentions of blood! Want to read part 1 and 2?: here you go ) In front of them amongst the many rows of tables and few chairs stood a animatronic with red fur and a hook for a hand, he towered over Teddy who was on the ground now, he had fallen over a chair allowing Molly to get away.
The boy screamed as the fox grabbed a hold of him when he tried to get up, Madison yelled out “We got to do something!” As the three of them stood there both stunned and confused on what they were even looking at, everyone seemed to be frozen in place as the animatronic raised his hook, everything seemed to be all over but as a chair came slamming down on the fox everyone seemed to unfreeze from the moment.
They saw Molly, the one who wasn’t the bravest out of the group taking on something that was far bigger than her, everyone sort of scrambled to action as the fox dropped Teddy due to the impact, the chair only seemed to stun it for a moment though before it turned its attention to Molly with a look of aggression, she let out a scream as it tried to grab her but she managed to dodge but just barely, this fox was quick. Jack jumped into the danger zone as he helped Teddy get away, the boys ran down a hallway in panic while Madison helped distract the fox “Hey you! Get your mangy hand off of my friends!” She was brave but also very scared, she didn’t have a game plan nor did she know what to do, all she knew was that somebody needed to lure whatever this was away so the others could escape and Madison was the fastest.
Foxy turned to look at her, his glare was menacing, his eyes flashed between red and white, almost like his visual censors were off. His movements were quick but clunky, the stage barely illuminated the area around them, Madison managed to pick up her flashlight before the fox reached her, she wasn’t ready, how could she be? The flash of a camera, the bright sudden light sent her vision into spots, she heard a metal screech of rage echo through her ears.
Her heartbeat raced so fast, she hadn’t even realized her own feet had started running not until she started gasping for breath. The darkness consumed everything in the hallway she found herself in, her flashlight barely lit up the areas around her as she ran and all she could hear was the clanking of a metal predator that was fast on her tail.
Madison ran around the corner, her shoes screeched against the black and white tile. Paper pals fell off the wall, a door opened and a pair of glowing red blue glitched eyes flashed from the dark doorway. The girl let out a scream as a purple looking bunny reached out as if to grab her, she ducked side stepping in a attempt to get out of range of its grasp slamming herself into the wall as a sharp pain ripped through her back.
Her breath hitched as she lurched forward nearly tripping herself and falling to the ground, tears stung at her eyes blurring her vision, could anything save her? Was she doomed to be ripped to shreds?
The only thing that saved her from a early end was the open room to her left, she stumbled into the room, the only thing illuminated was the buttons on a panel on the side of the door. Her back burned, everything was blurry, she stepped to the side the clanking of metal mere seconds away from her as she fell into the buttons that closed the door.
The scrapping of the cold hard metal panel opened the delicate wound on her back, red stained her shirt as Madison’s legs buckled and she found herself on the dirty tiled ground coughing and choking back sobs, metal slammed itself into the door repeatedly as if the animatronic itself had a major malfunction.
Madison cried when she finally could take a breath, she wanted her mom…..she wanted her dad, she didn’t want to be here anymore, this was supposed to be fun time out with her friends…..and now she felt like she might never get out of here. She tried her best to breath, she tried her best to think but she could barely do either, if it wasn’t for a gentle hand gripping her shoulder….she might not have ever gotten herself off the floor “J-Jack…?” His brown eyes looked horrified as he saw the blood on the back of her shirt that was only getting worse by the minute “Y-yeah, come on, we got to go!” His voice hissed with urgency, she wasn’t sure she could even run anymore, she was only running on pure adrenaline as he took her by the hand and led her down the rooms second door “Teddy already got out but I can’t find Molly or Brittany, after I get you out of here I’m going back for them” his words were determined, they both broke back into a run, a single flashlight lighting there way since the boy had dropped his at the mere sight of Foxy.
He managed to guide her back into the main party room before they saw Molly being chased by a robotic chicken, the chickens movements were janky and it kept making noises like its voicebox was broken “Molly!” Jack called to her but the only attention he managed to grab was the chickens, Jack and Madison froze in there steps as Chica looked at them, it changed its target but before they could run again Madison took a step back, she heard a sound….a crack sound? Her mind couldn’t register the source…..only that one moment she was standing ready to run and in the next second the ground from under her collapsed. Her eyes widened in that moment of weightlessness before reality snapped back to her in the form of Jack holding on her hand refusing to let go.
She looked up seeing the dim light of the room above her illuminating Jacks face, she didn’t remember saying the words “Don’t let me fall!” Nor does she remember what he said in turn, all she remembers……was seeing those metal glowing eyes staring from over his shoulder before everything went black.
