Nora interrupts him. “Answer, Alex. That's the game.”

I always want to talk about how people say that Sam Claflin's characters often die on screen, but you can't do it without spoilers, so it's difficult. I don't think it's as bad as everyone makes it out to be, but it's also important to look at the story as a whole and what it's trying to say. And let's not forget that some of these were films based on real life where a real person actually died.

Honestly, I think it's bc of that dumb fucking bumblebee tights idiotic flick (stupid bitches watch it 234 times and see him choose death every time, instead of staying with the woman he is supposedly in love with (lol he isn't, Will doesn't love Louisa), so ofc they think he 'dies in films' bc they see him die, by choice, over and over again) and bc of Finnick. Now, that one is down to the author's bad decisions in the last book of the trilogy. The films could have let him live and correct this mistake, a change I bet so many would welcome, but they didn't. Although I can argue that Finnick indeed lives (It's very simple: Katniss, our narrator, is not telling the truth. Sorted.), that is still only a headcanon.

And then, him being alive at the end is not always better. His Mycroft in Enola Holmes was already a character assassination. (Mycroft is not like that, they turned him into a cartoon villain for the sake of an original character.) Billy Dunne was not helped by the show's writing. They killed a female character too early so that they could have their overrated rocknroll ship. Alistair in Riot Club is alive, and what of it? I can't imagine many people like him. Philip in My Cousin Rachel (a film that everyone ignores anyway) is alive but he is tormented. (Although there's an argument to be made that he can heal, bc the film had him marry Louise and have children with her. In the book, Philip foreshadows his going insane. But it's open.) Oswald Mosley didn't die until 1980 and you wish he did sooner.

So, you know, it's not just about dying or living.

Henry is panicking. The pictures of him shaking Alex's hand are everywhere on the internnet. The shadow of his own words, barely a whisper, ring in his head. I need to get out of here. That shouldn't have happened, it was never supposed to happen. He knows he can't, the queen has always made that very clear. But still, he can't help the way his heartbeat starts to pick up. He takes one last look at the picture, and Alex's face looking up at his own in the photo makes he want to throw up. He's pretty sure the walls of this fucking palace are closing in on him and he can't breathe. Suddenly he's on his feet, the phone forgotten on the bed, and he heads towards the door.

Lydia is panicking. The only thing she can think about are Emma's hands on her hips. The ghost of her touch is still making shivers run through every part of her body. This is so fucking stupid, she's straight. And so is Emma. She takes one look at her classmates in the distance, and the heart-shattering jealousy she feels looking at Emma hugging another girl is enough to tell her that maybe she's not that straight. With a furious sigh she goes to grab her focaccia. Except said focaccia is being squashed to the groud by a guy standing on it.

After putting some distance between him and the palace, Henry can fucking breathe again. The only thing he needs now is to be alone with his thought. Except there's a voice coming from under him “What the fuck man? Do you mind stepping off of my lunch?”

This is how two people trying to get through very difficult moments in their lives become friends.

here's a little snippet from my rwrb au i started writing right before i fell down the top gun rabbit hole. alex is an interpreter in this one, while henry is a businessman. enjoy!

Rule number one: be invisible. If you are invisible as a translator, it means that you’re doing your job well. And yet, Alex couldn’t shake off the feeling that he was being watched. Scrutinised, even. He could feel Henry's hot stare wandering over the tips of his eyelashes, the curve of his dimples, the breadth of his forehead. Moreover, Alex could feel the rosy heat sprinkling his cheeks. Well, that was an understatement of sorts. Alex's cheeks were burning, and he couldn’t even put a hand over his face to hide it since he had to be perfectly audible to his listeners. He could only pray that his complexion hid the flush. Screw it. Screw him and his embarrassing crush on one of his clients.

okay, so that's it. i'm kinda insecure about it cause it was my first attempt at writing after a 3-year-long break but here we go. it's out for the world to see and maybe someday i'll come back to it and do something about it (maybe even publish it, who knows). have a nice day yall!

There’s a flash of an image in Alex’s mind, a clear picture of Henry with his good hand wrapped around his hard cock, pumping his fist with his face pinched, his wrist flexing as he gets tired and has to stop. Alex can almost feel that frustration, the unintentional and cruel edging that it must have created.

It makes something warm stir low in Alex’s abdomen, and his mouth moves before his brain can catch up. “I can do it.”

Henry inhales sharply and coughs, his voice raspy when he says, “I’m sorry. What?”

He allows himself to take another look, sliding his gaze from top to bottom and taking in the image in front of him. If he thought before that this guy was intriguing, he can now clearly see that he is beautiful. The stark light at the bar contrasts the darkness of the rest of the club, splitting the figure in front of him in two opposing halves. He takes in the bright one, where some blonde strands of hair are almost white and the shimmer of sweat on the forehead glistens back at him, and then the darker one, where soft lights from afar dance on the man’s cheek, bathing him in a glow that Alex finds hypnotic. Or: Alex sees Henry across the dance floor and is mesmerised by his ivory skin and the pearl top he is wearing.

I was going through Matthew Michael Lopezs story highlights and found some gems.

First one is about Nick and Taylor's chemistry. We are all very grateful to Matthew for taking the time to find the perfect Henry and Alex, and how he would not make a movie with two actors that didn't have chemistry. And Nick and Taylor ate from the very first meeting. He described their connection with heart and fire emoji ffs 😩 (seriously we need more from these two)
