Polyester Staple Fibre Prices Trend | Pricing | Database | Index | News | Chart
Tumblr media
Polyester Staple Fibre (PSF) prices are a crucial indicator in the textile industry, impacting various sectors from apparel manufacturing to home furnishings. In recent years, the market for polyester staple fiber has witnessed significant fluctuations influenced by a myriad of factors. Understanding these price trends is essential for stakeholders in the textile supply chain, including manufacturers, suppliers, and retailers.
One of the primary drivers of PSF prices is the cost of raw materials. Polyester staple fiber is derived from petroleum-based products, primarily purified terephthalic acid (PTA) and monoethylene glycol (MEG). As such, the prices of these raw materials are closely linked to global crude oil prices. When oil prices rise, the cost of PTA and MEG also tends to increase, leading to higher production costs for PSF. Conversely, a decline in oil prices generally results in lower raw material costs, which can drive down PSF prices. However, the relationship between oil prices and PSF prices is not always straightforward, as other factors can also come into play.
Global supply and demand dynamics are another critical factor affecting PSF prices. The demand for polyester staple fiber is largely driven by the textile and apparel industry, which accounts for a significant portion of its usage. Economic conditions, consumer spending patterns, and fashion trends can all influence the demand for textiles, thereby affecting PSF consumption. On the supply side, the production capacity of major PSF manufacturers and any disruptions in the supply chain, such as plant shutdowns or logistical issues, can impact the availability of PSF and its pricing.

Trade policies and tariffs also play a significant role in shaping PSF prices. Changes in trade regulations, import duties, and tariffs can affect the cost of imported raw materials and finished PSF products. For instance, trade tensions between major economies, such as the United States and China, have led to the imposition of tariffs on various textile products, including PSF. These tariffs can increase the cost of imported PSF, leading to higher prices for end consumers. Additionally, exchange rate fluctuations can influence the competitiveness of PSF on the international market, affecting both exports and imports.
Technological advancements and innovations in the production process of PSF can also impact prices. Improvements in manufacturing techniques can lead to increased efficiency and reduced production costs, potentially lowering the price of PSF. Moreover, the development of recycled polyester staple fiber, which is produced from post-consumer plastic waste, has introduced a more sustainable and often cost-competitive alternative to virgin PSF. The growing emphasis on sustainability and the circular economy in the textile industry has driven the adoption of recycled PSF, influencing market dynamics and pricing.
Environmental regulations and policies are increasingly affecting the polyester staple fiber market. Stricter environmental standards and regulations regarding emissions, waste management, and the use of chemicals in the production process can lead to higher compliance costs for manufacturers. These additional costs are often passed on to consumers in the form of higher PSF prices. Moreover, initiatives aimed at reducing plastic waste and promoting the use of biodegradable materials can impact the demand for synthetic fibers like PSF, thereby influencing its pricing.
The geographical distribution of PSF production and consumption also plays a role in determining prices. Asia, particularly China and India, dominates the global PSF market in terms of both production and consumption. The concentration of production capacity in these regions means that any changes in local market conditions, such as labor costs, energy prices, and government policies, can have a significant impact on global PSF prices. Additionally, transportation costs and logistical challenges associated with shipping PSF from production hubs to consumption markets can influence pricing.
Market speculation and investor sentiment can also contribute to price volatility in the PSF market. Speculative trading in raw materials and finished PSF products can lead to short-term price fluctuations. Furthermore, macroeconomic factors such as inflation, interest rates, and global economic growth can affect investor confidence and market stability, indirectly influencing PSF prices.
In conclusion, the prices of polyester staple fiber are influenced by a complex interplay of factors, including raw material costs, supply and demand dynamics, trade policies, technological advancements, environmental regulations, geographical distribution, and market speculation. For industry stakeholders, staying informed about these factors and their potential impacts on PSF prices is crucial for strategic planning and decision-making. As the global textile industry continues to evolve, monitoring these trends will remain essential for navigating the challenges and opportunities in the PSF market.

7 Sustainable Luxury Designers Disrupting The Fashion Industry
Don’t let the words designer and luxury scare you. While these brands are much more expensive than traditional fast fashion labels and even our favorite affordable ethical brands, it’s worth noting these designers for when you’re ready to invest in a statement piece. Or for when you’re browsing online consignment stores, and secondhand luxury retailers like Vestiaire Collective.
Not only are the designers below creating garments that will last you years (and then some), but they’re paving the runway with progressive production methods and innovative textile inventions. Whoever said environmental sustainability and luxury fashion couldn’t mix?
1. Stella McCartney
Sustainability | Cruelty-free—no fur or leather, re-engineered cashmere & ethically sourced wool, organic cotton & recycled textiles, 100 percent PVC-free, sustainable packaging Best For | Ready-to-wear fashion for all genders & ages, swimwear, sunglasses & bags
Stella McCartney has been reshaping fashion since launching her first collection in the early 1990s. Known for creating modern garments that exude natural confidence, the UK-based luxury designer is a pioneer of alternative materials and eco-friendly practices.
There is no compromise when it comes to sustainability, and pushing boundaries is always at the forefront of the brand’s mission. In 2014, Stella McCartney introduced Clevercare, a simple, five-step labeling system to help consumers care for and prolong the life of their clothing through mindful garment care.
Continuing to set the bar high for social and environmental sustainability in the fashion industry, Stella McCartney regularly conducts audits and measures impact, too. A member of the Ethical Trading Initiative, the brand is also careful with its selection of suppliers, many of whom are small businesses are artisans in Europe.
As an added bonus, the Stella McCartney brand gives back to organizations like Bioplanet, Memorial Sloan Kettering, and Million Trees Miami.

2. EILEEN FISHER
Sustainability | Organic, recycled, & sustainable garments, natural dyes, secondhand shop Best For | Inclusive & petite sizes for women, minimalist staples
EILEEN FISHER is passionate about disrupting the linear production model touted by most luxury fashion brands. The eponymous Illinois-bred designer paints in circular brushstrokes, recycling and giving new life to old textiles and discarded garments.
The result? Luxurious and sustainable womenswear with a particular focus on inclusive and petite sizing.
Loved for her use of recycled fabrics, organic fibers, and natural dyes in production, it comes as no surprise that the EILEEN FISHER brand is a certified B Corp with several sustainable initiatives like secondhand shops called Renew and Waste No More. If that isn’t progressive enough, the team also collaborates with environmental conservation orgs, supports artisans, and empowers women through the Eileen Fisher Leadership Institute.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
3. Mara Hoffman
Sustainability | Recycled fabrics & fibers, hemp, linen, & organic cotton, eco-friendly packaging & branding, secondhand shop, sustainability commitments Best For | Designer swimwear, womenswear
Mara Hoffman’s collections, which are devoted to color and sustainability, draw from the inspiration of women. The luxury designer aims to encourage mindful consumption and “encourages consumers to reevaluate the relationship” they have with their clothing.
Employing alternative approaches to fashion production, the brand uses an array of sustainable fabrics, including ECONYL® and REPREVE® in the favored swimwear line—which are regenerated nylon fiber derived from waste, and polyester fiber made from recycled plastic, respectively. Mara Hoffman also uses hemp in ready-to-wear collections, as well as organic cotton, linen, ethical alpaca wool, and fibrous plant-based materials like modal sourced through Lenzing Group.
Additionally, the brand uses sustainable means for shipping, packaging, and branding, and internationally accepted environmental and human rights standards are upheld for responsible production. As an added bonus, Mara Hoffman hosts a secondhand shop called “Full Circle” to keep items out of landfills.

4. Fe Noel
Sustainability | Natural fabrics, made-to-order options, handcrafted in NY Best For | Tropical-inspired colors & styles
For luxury garments inspired by Grenada, we’re turning to Fe Noel’s work. This womenswear brand based out of Brooklyn, NY combines tropical colors, bold prints, and stunning styles for a gorgeous collection that works from the beach to the runway. Fe Noel’s line includes wide-leg pants, flowy tops and dresses, and eclectic swimwear.
Sustainable pieces are handcrafted out of its New York studio, with typical sizes ranging from XS through XL—but you can also choose a made-to-measure option for a guaranteed perfect fit. And accessibility is important to this luxury designer, too: Some garments start at just over $50 and payment plans are available.
Founder Fe also launched the Fe Noel Foundation, so proceeds from the brand also support underserved youth who want to launch their own businesses and make an impact on a global scale. This is exactly what ethical and social responsibility looks like.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
5. Roopa Pemmaraju
Sustainability | Artisan-made worldwide, low-waste, fair trade, sustainable materials Best For | Summer dresses, tops, & skirts
If we had to distill Roopa Pemmaraju’s style in three words, we’d say floral, feminine, and summer-chic. Combining modern and traditional designs, pieces are drafted in New York and then sustainably made by artisans in India using age-old techniques. We love the team’s emphasis on “a world where the traditions that have shaped India’s culture for centuries can continue to thrive, instead of disappearing into the shadows of fast fashion.”
In addition to being fair trade and offering competitive wages, the brand also prioritizes slow fashion values—its clothing and accessories are made with recycled or natural fabrics like cotton, corn fibers, eucalyptus, and silk, which means it embraces low-waste practices as well. Then each piece is detailed with hand embroidery, digital printing, or hand block printing for that gorgeous final touch. You can find out more about Roopa Pemmaraju’s processes, fabrics, and craft here.
It’s worth the investment knowing no two pieces are exactly alike.

6. Gabriela Hearst
Sustainability | Deadstock and recycled materials, plastic-free packaging, gives back Best For | Timeless, elevated staples and statement pieces
Launched in 2015, Gabriela Hearst is a brand committed to sustainability, from the manufacturing process to the materials used, with the goal that the final pieces will be so loved that their owners won’t ever want to throw them away. This is a brand that values tradition more than trend, where the details matter. “I wanted to create a brand that had that feeling of things that are well made and long lasting,” says Hearst. Still, she looked to sustainable materials to achieve this goal, and in 2017 they launched a collection using 30% deadstock fabrics. Then the company started to examine their packaging, introducing TIPA flexible packaging, which offers bio-based alternatives to the traditional plastic. By 2019, the company was fully plastic-free. The brand is now working towards the goal of eliminating the use of virgin materials. “I like the idea that we’re doing our part by not creating something completely new,” the designer says.
Of Uruguayan and American descent, Hearst uses the wool of her family’s six-generation merino sheep farm in Uruguay to produce piqué and twill suits. The company also has a partnership with Manos del Uruguay, a venerable non-profit and women’s cooperative empowering rural women who work in the production of Gabriela Hearst hand-knits. The brand continues to set aggressive eco-conscious goals for itself, raising its own standards of sustainability, including creating carbon neutral shows at Paris Fashion Week with 60% deadstock materials. With a refined, elegant aesthetic and rigorous attention to craft, these are pieces that you can feel good about owning for decades to come.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
7. TOVE
Sustainability | GOTS organic cotton, Oeko Tex certified, recycled labeling & packaging Best For | Timeless, luxury classics
Founded by Camille Perry and Holly Wright in 2019, TOVE is a Danish girl’s name that means strength and beauty, the epitome of the brand’s aesthetic goals. PM Modi's Sustainable fashion wear, dons jacket from recycled PET Bottles
Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a fashion statement by donning a blue jacket from recycled plastic bottles while delivering a speech to the Parliament. The Prime Minister wore this jacket to Parliament while responding to a vote of thanks on the President's address.
The jacket is a product of the Green Initiative of Sustainable Garments launched by Indian Oil, the flagship uniform brand for its employees, called 'Unbottled.' This initiative aims to reduce the company's carbon footprint by recycling PET bottles into garments.
Apart from Indian Oil, other companies have also taken steps towards sustainable fashion wear. For instance, several aviation uniform suppliers have produced uniforms made from recycled polyester. These uniforms not only reduce the carbon footprint of the airlines but also promote sustainable fashion wear. Similarly, hotel uniform manufacturers have also started producing eco-friendly uniforms made from sustainable materials like bamboo, organic cotton, and recycled polyester.
'Unbottled' Initiative to Recycle Polyester
Indian Oil's flagship uniform brand, Unbottled, was launched by Prime Minister Modi during India Energy Week. The corporation has established a goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2046, and to do so, it has vowed to recycle ten crore PET bottles. In addition, the company plans to recycle 100 million discarded mineral water, cold drink, and other PET bottles annually to make eco-friendly uniforms for staff.
The Journey of PET Bottle's Transformation into a Garment
Unbottled is not limited to recycling PET bottles into employees' uniforms, as the company also plans to recycle polyester through its sustainable garments brand. In addition, the company will make uniforms for customer attendants of other Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), non-combat uniforms for the Army, and uniforms/dresses for institutions and retail customers.
Recycling PET bottles into garments start with washing, drying, and crushing the discarded bottles into small chips. These chips are then heated and passed through a spinneret to turn them into polyester staple fiber. The polyester staple fiber goes through a crimping machine to get its fluffy, woolly texture. Finally, the polyester staple fiber is spun to produce yarn, which is further knitted or woven into polyester fabric. This process helps reduce the import burden of fossil feedstock as PET recycling requires around 59% less energy for production than virgin PET (made from fossil sources) and has approximately 79% lower carbon footprint.
Expanding Sustainable Clothing Initiatives
Indian Oil has launched several sustainable initiatives, including sustainable clothing and solar cookers, to achieve environmental protection by reducing its carbon footprint. In addition to its flagship brand, Unbottled, the company also supplies eco-friendly uniforms to pilots and hotel uniform manufacturers. By expanding its sustainable clothing initiatives, the company aims to reduce its import burden of fossil feedstock while contributing to a cleaner environment.
Conclusion
Recycling PET bottles and other plastic materials into garments is an effective way to reduce the carbon footprint of companies. In addition, sustainable fashion wear will benefit the environment and promote a sense of responsibility towards nature.

Do you remember when you were a child, wearing a blanket on your grandma's lap, listening to stories by the fire. The little blankets in my childhood memories always give me safety and warmth, so they are always a good part of people's memories. There are many uses of blankets, not just limited to blankets, rugs, sofa blankets, shawls, etc. Oh, it is all up to you to be creative!
In fact, in addition to the above uses, there is a special blanket use is cotton tablecloth. You can use the blanket as a cotton tablecloth, there will be a different kind of surprise. If you love your home, you can instantly refresh your warm home with a unique style in the easiest and most economical way. In today's advocating environmentalism and unique taste, a piece of cotton tablecloth that can be recycled, or retro or simple, is definitely the first choice for not only anti-fouling, but also filling your dining table with a strong literary style.
Next, I will introduce the weaving process of the blanket
Blanket weaving material: nylon, value diameter (PA6, PA66), polyester (PET)
Nylon is divided into heald, filament, weft and staple.
Heddles are commonly used: φ0-18, φ02, etc. Heddles are mainly used for weaving the bottom net of the warp and weft of the bottom net wool.
Filament yarn is mainly used for warp and weft weaving base fabric of non-weft felt.
Weft: φ0-2, φ03, φ0-34, φ0-35, etc.
The short fiber is usually expressed in denier due to its small diameter. The short fiber is carded to form flock, which is laid on the base fabric or bottom wire and needled by a needle punching machine to become a papermaking felt.
Classification of papermaking felts
Papermaking felts are divided into non-weft felts, ordinary felts (BOB), bottom mesh felts (BOM)
The characteristics of the bottom wire felt: it has good dehydration performance, high wear resistance, suitable for paper machines of various speeds, and has a long service life. Disadvantages: poor folding resistance.
Bottom mesh blankets include single-layer bottom mesh blankets, double-layer bottom mesh blankets, and triple-layer bottom mesh blankets (ie, laminated blankets or composite bottom mesh blankets).
Laid felts and ordinary felts are generally suitable for ordinary low-speed paper machines.
Single-layer and double-layer bottom wire felts are also suitable for ordinary low-speed paper machines but have a longer service life than ordinary felts.
Three layers. (Composite bottom wire felt) is suitable for paper machines with medium and high speed, wide door and high line pressure.
Blanket weaving process
Staple fiber → blending wool → carding and laying → heald → plying → warping → needling → shaping (far infrared or oil heat) → weaving, inserting (setting) → weft (plying) → roll inspection → packing → entering library → factory
Felts with special requirements also need to be chemically treated to increase the stain resistance or abrasion resistance of the felt.
The warp threads used for weaving generally have quadruple strands (02*4) and six strands (0.2x6). The diameter of the warp is generally φ0.2.
Weft - generally has a single-strand diameter of φ03 or φ0.35, double-strand (single φ0.35), and quadruple strands (single φ0.2).
Weaving (weaving the bottom net into a loop through the insert), if the bottom net woven by the endless loom does not need the insert.
The machinery for making papermaking felts usually includes: and wool machine, carding machine, pre-punching machine, plying machine, wefting machine, warping machine, main needling machine, setting machine (external infrared or oil heat).
Looms are divided into ordinary looms, heavy-duty looms and circular looms.
Acupuncture machines are divided into single-needle area, double-needle area and three-needle area acupuncture machines.

Fluctuations in the prices of these raw materials can impact the cost of production of Denim. Harmful environmental impacts and competition from substitute goods are a few other factors that hinder the growth of the denim market. Premiumization in the denim products, the high influence of celebrity branding, and forming strategic alliances can boost the growth of the denim market. Creating fashion awareness in rural and backward areas can also uplift the market in the future.

Tumblr media
What is Carded Staple Fiber?
Carded staple fiber refers to fibers that have been cleaned, disentangled, and aligned into a continuous web. This process, called carding, involves passing the fibers through a series of rollers covered with wire teeth, which helps arrange them in a parallel fashion. The fibers used in carded staple fiber production can come from natural sources like cotton and wool or synthetic materials such as polyester, polypropylene, or nylon.
The carding process ensures that the fibers are well-mixed and uniformly distributed, which is crucial for producing nonwoven fabrics with consistent quality and performance. These fabrics are highly versatile and can be designed for various applications, including filters, insulation, upholstery, geotextiles, and hygiene products.
Advantages of Carded Staple Fiber
Durability: Nonwoven fabrics made from carded staple fibers offer exceptional durability, making them suitable for demanding applications such as automotive interiors, construction materials, and industrial filtration systems.
Cost-Effective: One of the key advantages of carded staple fiber is its cost-effectiveness. The carding process is efficient, resulting in a material that is affordable without compromising on quality.
Versatility: Carded staple fibers can be made from a wide range of natural and synthetic materials, giving manufacturers flexibility in choosing the right fibers for specific applications. This adaptability makes it a popular choice across various industries.
Customizable Properties: The composition and bonding process of carded staple fiber can be tailored to meet specific requirements. Whether you need a fabric with high tensile strength, breathability, or moisture resistance, carded staple fiber can be engineered to fit your needs.
Eco-Friendly Options: With increasing emphasis on sustainability, many manufacturers now offer eco-friendly carded staple fibers made from recycled or biodegradable materials. This contributes to the growing demand for environmentally responsible products.

The polyester filament market is likely to witness a revenue generation surpassing US$ 87,000 million by 2018 end. A significant growth in the use of polyester in textile industry including apparel and home furnishing and growing demand for the polyester filament in the manufacturing of automotive textile are some of the prominent factors driving the polyester filament market revenues. Fact.MR study opines that the fully drawn polyester filament sales are likely to outsell other types of polyester filaments. Continued preference for fully drawn yarn used in the production of textiles and fabrics for high-end sportswear, undergarments, and home textiles are driving the significant growth of fully drawn yarn in polyester filament market. The demand for both drawn texture yarn and fully drawn yarn is growing in the textile industry. However, with the development of post-treatment technology and lower cost of fully drawn yarn, it is likely to outsell drawn texture yarn over the next few years. Polyester fully drawn yarn sales are also expected to remain high in polyester embroidery thread manufacturing widely used in sewing. India, China, Thailand, and Malaysia are the leading manufacturers and exporters of fully drawn yarn across various countries. Textile industry accounts for over 60% of revenue share in polyester filament market The demand for polyester filament in the textile industry is expected to witness healthy growth. The textile industry is creating strong demand for polyester filaments which have the ability to substitute cotton yarns to some extent. With cotton yarn prices at relatively higher levels, the demand and sales of polyester filament yarn is constantly rising. The report opines that broader gains in a range of end-use industries will increase the proportion of polyester filament yarn used in the products with an aim to control cost. In recent years, there has been a huge demand for the polyester filament in medical textile covering a wide range of products including surgical gowns, diapers, and products for internal uses like surgical procedures. The demand is likely to continue in the years to come. With textile, apparel, retail, and fashion industries moving towards sustainability, the area of interest in recycled polyester filament yarn in the production of new products is rising. In addition to technological developments in apparel and textile manufacturing, polyester filament manufacturers are constantly focusing on producing recycled polyester filaments to meet the growing demand. APEJ to remain at the pole position in polyester filament market According to the study, APEJ will be the most lucrative market for polyester filaments. The demand is expected to surpass US$ 14,000,000 tons by 2018-end. China, India, Indonesia, and Thailand are the major countries in APEJ dealing in polyester filament market. Polyester and nylon fiber manufacturers in the Asia Pacific have also increased the prices with the rise in crude oil prices and growing demand for synthetic fibers. Home furnishing is emerging as the second-largest demand generator for polyester filament followed by apparels. Moreover, India is likely to hold a strong position, capturing a major share in the global polyester filament market, owing to the low cost of labor and initiatives by the government ensuring stable power supply, and availability of low-cost operations. China continues to be a major supplier of polyester fiber including recycled polyester fiber. However, the ban on import of solid waste used to produce recycled polyester is likely to impact the polyester material supply chain. Higher prices of polyester staple fiber can result in increasing demand for cotton. Also Read: Global polyester staple fiber market to reach USD 39.3 billion by 2025

What you don't know about Super Soft Blue Gray Blanket
