M O V E M E N T Day 12: Current Motif “a dominant or recurring idea” #21daysinmyartworld The interpretation of my daily walks tend to dictate my work right now. I always track my walks, be it for 20 minutes around the block or a 3 hour walk in the countryside. I love the shapes that come out of them. My London walks are much more angular and the country walks are softer in shape. I look closely at the movements I make during my walks and then interpret these into my art. The ‘contour’ lines your see that outline my art are the walks themselves…with a little artistic licence at times! This piece is one of my newest explorations of my walks. It was my New Year’s Day walk. When I look back at these walks I can remember so much detail from them and these details often come out in the way I paint each piece. I love the texture of this piece, something I have been thinking about experimenting with for a while now. I have added a little screen shot of the recorded walk so you can see just how I work. I sometimes use all of the walk and other times I choose the shapes that appeal to me the most or I feel fits the mood of the work better. (Sometimes the GPS goes array as you can see on the light green line!) I have recorded over 200 walks so far and the number is growing fast!! I wonder how many steps that would come to? Where is your favourite place to walk? #walks #urbanwalks #countrywalks #recordingwalks #movement #suunto #movescount #interpretations #wip #newestwork #newartwork #current #pattern #outlines #londonartist #artforyourwalls #texture (at London, United Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/CKD4DtHHEfy/?igshid=okao0msl40hj
