Reality Bytes, Chapter 7: Build Practice
Yuya sighed as he studied the computer screen the next afternoon. His counterparts were all out of the house at the moment. Yuto was hanging out with Shun and Ruri, Yuri was at the movies with Dennis and Sora, and Yugo was having a riding duel with Rin. Yuya had opted to stay home and practice building in Reality Bytes.
At the moment, Yuya was working on a house that he’d envisioned in his head earlier. It seemed to be coming along very nicely, much better than anything he’d ever built before. It was quite large too, currently consisting of sixty-one rooms total with a symmetrical floorplan. The tomato-head hoped he would be able to finish it before his counterparts got home. He wanted it to be a surprise for them!
There was a knock at the door, and the boy jumped, frantically turning off the computer monitor to hide what he was working on. Then, Sawatari’s voice called out from the other side of the door. “Yuya! Reiji and I came to visit you!”
“Oh, thank god, it’s you guys!” Yuya sighed in relief. “I thought you were my counterparts, heh! Come on in!”
“Do you not want your counterparts in here?” Reiji asked as he and Sawatari walked into the room. Yuya shook his head. “Not at the moment, no. I’m working on a surprise for them, but I’m kinda struggling. Actually you know what? I’m really happy you two came by! Maybe you can give me some advice!”
“Oh, what are you working on?” Sawatari asked as he and Reiji sat down on either side of Yuya. The tomato turned the computer monitor back on, and showed his boyfriends the house he was building.
“Oh, that’s quite nice!” Reiji said, impressed. Sawatari nodded in agreement, “Yeah, I can already see it’s going to be amazing when you finish!”
“Thanks!” Yuya said, beaming with pride. “Thing is, I’m having trouble filling all the space without making it look like I just threw a bunch of stuff together.” He was moving the camera around to show them the house, when he noticed something. “Ack! I forgot the doors to the saunas! Nooo!”
Sawatari chuckled as Yuya frantically added doors to the doorless saunas. “Wouldn’t want anyone to get trapped inside!” the blonde said. Reiji raised an eyebrow. “How would they get trapped inside if there’s no doors to enter in the first place?”
Yuya moved to an empty room on the second floor, and thought for a moment. Then he added a square stone platform to the center of the room, and then a second square, wooden platform diagonal on top of it, with a small wall in the middle. “What do you think of this for breaking up the space in this room? I’m thinking it could be a family mausoleum, where the urns of Folks can be placed on little altars over the generations, along with flowers, candles, and incense, and photos of the deceased Folks on the walls above their urns.”
As he spoke, Yuya added little altar-like console tables with tablecloths along the walls, four on either side of the room and two on either side of the wall on the diagonal platform. He added little decorative urns, flowers, and incense holders onto the console tables and paintings on the walls. “This all is just placeholder stuff, y’know?”
“That looks great, Yuya!” Reiji said. Yuya beamed and moved up one level to a room directly above the mausoleum. “This room would be perfect for a seance room! It’s right above the mausoleum, so if I just…”
He placed a diagonal square stone platform in position right over where the mausoleum platform was, then moved to a room on the ground floor and grabbed a table from it, which he placed on top of the platform. Upon closer inspection, Reiji and Sawatari noticed that it seemed to have a crystal ball on it. Yuya then added a little rung under the table. “There, what do you think?”
“That could work!” Sawatari said. “Just needs a little decorating, and it’ll look great! What’s up those stairs?” He pointed at a pair of L-shaped staircases in the room.
“Ahaha!” Yuya giggled. “That’s the attic! My favorite room! It’s got a little secret surprise that I’m not going to show you just yet!”
“Alright, fair enough!” Sawatari said, though now both he and Reiji were very intrigued. What could possibly be in the attic to make it Yuya’s favorite room?
Yuya hummed as he searched through the furniture catalog, selecting and placing a plant, a sofa, two console tables, a cabinet, and a couple of paintings. “How does that look?” he asked.
“Very nice!” Reiji said, and Sawatari hummed in agreement. Yuya looked pleased and moved down to the ground floor again. “There’s really only a couple rooms that I’m really having trouble with,” he admitted. “The gym here and that massage parlor.”
“Can you add wall mirrors to the gym?” Sawatari suggested. Reiji said, “Add lockers and a place to shower after a workout.”
“Hmm, lockers and showers might be tricky, since there’s a laundry room over here,” Yuya said, showing them the laundry room that was just off the gym. Then he got a contemplative look on his face. “Unless…”
He moved the gym equipment a bit and added a wall, splitting the room in two almost in half. Then he added a smaller room in the slightly smaller section and began adding furnishings. One room became a nice little locker room, the smallest room became a bathroom with a shower, and Yuya rearranged the gym equipment and added a wall of mirrors with backlights as well as a few rugs. “Eh?”
“That looks good!” Reiji said, ruffling Yuya’s tomato fluff. Sawatari nodded in agreement. “The rugs really help define the space!”
“Alright, onto the massage parlor!” Yuya said, moving to that room. “Hmm… what if…”
He searched through the catalog again until he found the items he was looking for, some waterfall walls that he lined the walls behind the massage tables and chairs, as well as between the two sauna rooms. Then he added some wooden partitions with candles between the chairs and tables. “How’s that?”
“I really like it!” Sawatari said. “It looks like something from a spa!”
“Perfect!” Yuya said. “That’s exactly what this room, the saunas, and the room next door are supposed to be. This one is the massage parlor, the one next door is the zen room for yoga and meditation, and the saunas are saunas. Speaking of the zen room…” He moved to the zen room and lined the walls with the same mirrors that he’d added to the gym.
“It’s looking great, Yuya!” Reiji said. “I think you’re really improving on your skills. You said you were having trouble furnishing it, but you’re doing really well!”
“Well, I do have you guys here to help,” Yuya said modestly. “Ah, but the hallways are going to be a real pain to decorate. You both have big houses, right? What do you put in your hallways?”
“Mainly paintings and console tables,” Sawatari said. Reiji nodded in agreement, “I’ve got a few statues in my halls, too.”
“Mm…” Yuya looked distastefully at the massive hallway. “Think I’ll save them for last… Okay, now I need to figure out how to add some greenery to my house. There’s this Life Goal for a mansion, and it requires several thousand ByteCoin’s worth of landscaping to fulfill it. Thing is, there’s not a lot of space to put landscaping, since I’ve turned the beach into a playground for kids.”
“Rooftop garden,” Reiji and Sawatari said together. Yuya blinked and moved to the roof. “I mean, I already roofed the house but I can definitely see if I can add a rooftop garden.”
He began fiddling with the roof, eventually deleting two sections in the back. “Gotta be symmetrical. I’m thinking two rooftop gardens with balconies.”
“Perfect!” Sawatari said. “I’ve got a rooftop garden at my house myself!”
“So do I,” Reiji said. “It’s a nice place to relax after a long day.”
“I know right?” Sawatari agreed. “Mine has a place to sit and watch the sunset, too! Or read in the sun.”
“I enjoy looking at the cityscape at night, seeing how different it is than how it is in the daylight,” Reiji replied. Sawatari nodded in agreement, “Rooftop gardens are great places to hangout and socialize too! And also to get away from people you don’t wanna interact with!”
Yuya was listening to them talk, but he was also busy working on his rooftop garden in his build. After a while, he proudly said, “Eh? Eh?”
The little section of former roof was now a luscious and vibrant garden space. The floor was covered in green grass with a red hibiscus tree in the center, surrounded by a thick carpet of purple bougainvillea flowers arranged in a circle around the tree. Lining the two sides of the garden up against the house walls were red ixora hedges. The two other sides of the garden were lined with a balcony fence.
“Oh that looks beautiful!” Sawatari said happily. Reiji nodded in agreement, and Yuya smiled brightly as he clicked on the garden, copied the room, and placed the copy on the other side of the house to make it symmetrical.
“Wait, you can copy rooms like that?” Sawatari asked, surprised. Yuya grinned. “Yeah, I was surprised too, but it made making the house shell easy, since I was able to just copy the empty rooms and place them where I wanted. Plus, I kinda was sneaky and just made all the bedrooms nearly identical by copying them. And all the closets and bathrooms are identical too. Except for the gym bathroom, heh.”
“Well, that does seem to make things easier, huh?” Reiji said. “I’d love to see the bedrooms.”
Yuya smiled and moved the camera to one of the bedrooms. It was actually right next to one of the new rooftop gardens. The bed was against the garden wall, with a little dining table near the foot of it against a pair of floor-to-ceiling windows. The dining table had two computers on it with two chairs. Against the wall opposite of the bed was what appeared to be a video streaming setup. There was a rug on the wooden floor and a painting on the wall next to the bed beside the door.
“Each bedroom has a different special activity,” Yuya explained. “This room’s activity is streaming. There’s a bedroom with a candlemaking table, there’s one with a woodworking table, one with a 3D printer, and so on. What do you think?”
“It looks nice, but I think you could add windows to the garden wall, and move the bed to the wall with the painting,” Reiji suggested. Yuya tilted his head, doing as Reiji suggested. He moved the painting over the streaming setup and then lit up. “Hey, this means I can swap the dining table out for two desks for the computers! There’s enough space now with the slight re-positioning of the bed!”
He added a couple of desks, one against each set of windows opposite of the bedroom door and moved the chairs and computers to them. Then, after some consideration, he added two nightstands next to the bed, each with a candle. “Yeah?”
“Perfect!” Sawatari and Reiji said together. Yuya grinned and started rearranging each of the bedrooms to match. Sawatari blinked when he saw that the second floor consisted almost entirely of bedrooms. “How many bedrooms do you have?”
“Ten, each with its own walk-in closet and ensuite bathroom,” Yuya replied. Then he paused. “Actually, does the nursery count as a bedroom? It’s only got beds for toddlers, cribs for infants, and bassinets for babies… But it does have an ensuite bathroom, just not a walk-in closet.”
“Eh, I’d say a nursery doesn’t really count as a bedroom,” Sawatari said. “They wouldn’t have a whole different word for it if it did.”
“Alright, time for the worst job of all,” Yuya sighed. “The halls…”
“Show us the decoration options,” Reiji said, leaning a bit closer to the computer. Yuya obliged, showing his boyfriends the decoration catalog. Reiji studied the decorations and the hallway, then asked, “Would you prefer to make them identical or unique?”
“Oh, I’m definitely open to making them identical,” Yuya replied. “Much less struggling. Thing is, they don’t all have the same amount of archways and doors as each other.”
Reiji pointed at a few of the paintings and wall sculptures, then at the walls. “Put those painting here, here, here…” He pointed at the spots and Yuya placed the designated paintings where he said. “And then these wall sculptures on either side of these four paintings here.”
The second floor hallway now looked very nice, and Yuya was quite pleased. As he moved down to the ground floor, Sawatari piped in. “You should add some console tables between those archways, and some flowers on the tables.”
“Oh, that’s a good idea!” Yuya said, doing as he was told. Sawatari beamed and said, “Oh, and add these wall decorations above them. And then those two sculptures on either side of the massage parlor door, since it’s in the center of the hallway.”
“Add those two paintings to that wall, with those wall sculptures on either side of them again,” Reiji said. “And then those little tapestries to either side of Sawatari’s sculptures.”
“I think it’s turning out really well!” Yuya beamed. “One more hallway left! Third floor!”
“So I’m thinking these paintings again, but there’s not as much room to fit those wall sculptures between them,” Reiji said. Sawatari nodded, “So maybe pillars against the walls? I saw some pillars on the corners of the house when you were making the rooftop gardens.”
“Oh, yeah, those would work!” Yuya agreed, adding the paintings and pillars. After a moment’s consideration he added a long yellow sectional runner rug along the length of each hallway.
“That looks very good!” Reiji said. “And the run helps break up the space too! It’s not just a lot of brown wood flooring anymore!”
“Yeah!” Yuya agreed. “I think I’ll also add some curtains over all the glass windows and the archways too.”
Reiji and Sawatari watched him do just that, very proud of their shared boyfriend. It was obvious that he’d been working very hard on his house all day, and they were both very happy that they could help him make it what he wanted it to be.
“Yay! I think it’s done!” Yuya cheered as he looked his house over one more time. “Thanks guys!”
“Just one more thing,” Sawatari said. Yuya and Reiji looked at him, and he looked at Yuya. “Can we see what the attic looks like? Please, Yuya? I wanna see why it’s your favorite room!”
Yuya hesitated, then said, “Well, I do wanna add those wall sculptures to it. So I guess… If you guys promise not to tell anyone! Not your papa, not Reira, not my counterparts, not anyone!”
“We promise!” Reiji and Sawatari said together. Yuya grinned as moved up to the attic, giggling like a maniac. Reiji and Sawatari looked at the attic, then just stared.
“Yuya,” Reiji said. “Why, exactly, is there a bowling alley in the attic?”
Yuya giggled some more, clearly very pleased with himself. “Because it was the only place it would fit!”
“Why do you need a bowling alley?” Sawatari asked, bewildered. Yuya looked at him with wide eyes. “I’d have a bowling alley here in my house if I could! I love bowling! Hey, we should go bowling together sometime, the three of us!”
“Well, that would be fun,” Reiji agreed. Sawatari nodded, “Yeah, how about this next Saturday?”
“I’m free then,” Reiji replied. Yuya bounced in his seat, “Me too!”
“Well, then, it’s settled!” Sawatari said.

[fanfic] In A Dark Alleyway
Title: In A Dark Alleyway Ship: Yuuri x Dennis x Sora Chapters: 1-1||Words: 2,378 Genre: Supernatural||Rated: PG Challenges: Diversity Writing (Shun and Yuuri): D60, dark fantasy genre; YGO Arc V Rare Pairs Week Notes: AU. Supernatural creatures. I would apologize to Shun, but I'm not actually sorry... Summary: It is said you would never want to meet Yuuri in a dark alley. This is not untrue. But he's not the only one that should be avoided...
Yuuri liked alleyways. They were useful places to corner prey. He’d lost count of how many times he’d chased someone who genuinely believed they could escape that way into one.
His prey always learned that escaping Yuuri required far more than a quick run between close-built buildings.
Though in fair truth, he didn’t really chase. He preferred not to run unless he absolutely had to, despite his predator’s speed. A leisurely stroll served him well, given that he could and did outpace any human with minimal effort.
Which was why he found this particular prey a little more interesting than most. He didn’t often feed off humans as young as this one, but he’d caught an interesting candy-sweet scent from this one, and he wanted to learn where it came from.
What he didn’t smell – and which caught at his curiosity even more – was even the slightest hint of fear. Whoever this was, they knew he was there, and they weren’t afraid of him. Yuuri couldn’t remember the last time he’d crossed paths with any human who knew what he was and wasn’t afraid of him.
Then the blue-haired prey stopped and very calmly turned to meet Yuuri’s eyes.
“Were you going to follow me all night and not do anything else?”
One side of Yuuri’s mouth quirked up at that. “What do you think I should do?” He strolled out of the shadows as he spoke. If the child knew he was there, then there wasn’t any reason to hide.
“Most people who follow me live to regret it. If I’m feeling nice about it.”
And the little blue haired child – surely he couldn’t have been more than twelve – smiled a smile that was as unchildlike as anything Yuuri himself had ever smiled, and to make it that much better, Yuuri saw fangs as sharp as his own bared now.
“Is that so?” Yuuri sashayed closer, one hand resting on his hip, his own fangs hidden for the moment. How long had it been since he’d met another of his own kind that he hadn’t made himself? Centuries. Perhaps even longer than that.
This place, after all, was his territory and vampires were extremely territorial. The very idea of another one entering his domain annoyed Yuuri on some level to begin with. So now he wanted answers.
“You’re quite the bold one to come here alone.” Yuuri stared down at him. “Whatever makes you think that you could survive here?”
The other produced a sucker and licked casually. “There’s plenty of good food here and good places to sleep. What else do I need?”
There were other thoughts going through his mind; Yuuri couldn’t read them without more effort than he wanted to put in at the moment, but he wasn’t so foolish that he couldn’t tell they existed.
So when the stranger tensed for the briefest moment and then leaped at Yuuri, snarling fiercely, Yuuri dodged to one side, seized the other by the shoulder with one hand, yanked their sucker away with the other, then slammed his quasi-prey against the wall.
“Perhaps someone who could tell you that this is my domain and if you want to feed off the creatures that are mine, you need to ask me first?” Yuuri bared his own fangs.
The stranger strained against Yuuri’s relentless grip to no avail. Whoever he was, he wasn’t yet experienced in hiding all of his reactions, since Yuuri clearly saw the spark of hope that appeared in his large eyes as someone else approached.
It was hope that died the moment that Yuuri spoke without bothering to look over his shoulder.
“What took you so long? We’re going to have to hunt down a different meal.”
He never fed from his own kind, few and far between as such encounters were. Vampires, after all, had no blood of their own, so they could not provide it to other vampires. At least not for feeding purposes. Vampires had other reasons to exchange blood.
Most vampires made no sound. Dennis did just to be contrary as he came closer, eyeing both Yuuri and his captive. When he spoke, even Yuuri didn’t expect what he said.
“Sora? What are you doing here?”
Yuuri’s eyes cut over to his companion. “You know him?” It wasn’t often Dennis knew people that Yuuri didn’t know that he knew.
“We’ve met before. A few cities over.” Dennis shrugged as he stood next to Yuuri. “We shared a few meals but I didn’t think he was coming here. I would have told you.”
Yuuri released Sora; Dennis had many flaws, most of which Yuuri approved of if he didn’t actually share, but being stupid wasn’t one of them. If he hadn’t found a reason to dispose of the other vampire, then he could be spared.
“I could ask you that too! If this is his territory,” Sora snapped with a toss of his head towards Yuuri, “then what are you doing here?”
“He’s mine,” Yuuri answered. “I turned him myself and he does what I tell him to do.” He reached out and ran his fingers softly through Dennis’s hair. “So he can go anywhere in my territory.”
Yuuri smiled at a sudden thought. He did like this young one’s ferocity. “If you wish the same freedom, then you can belong to me as well.” He very seldom had servants. He’d never needed them. This could well be an exception.
Sora gave him a very suspicious look. “I stopped being a servant a long time ago.”
“Maybe you did,” Yuuri agreed, licking his lips. If one vampire took the blood of another, it wasn’t a meal. It was a contract. “But if you don’t pledge to me, then you won’t stay here.”
It was his responsibility to keep the area from being overhunted, after all. All the humans here belonged to him and he made certain other vampires didn’t take more than he allowed.
Not to mention Sora intrigued him regardless, with what little he knew. The other vampire didn’t lack for courage, and Yuuri made a note to pick Dennis’s brain about him as soon as he had the chance. The more he knew, the better.
Sora just glared at them both. “Who said I wanted to stay here? Maybe I’m just passing through anyway.”
Yuuri heard more in those words than Sora perhaps intended. He took a step closer. “I could also go the other way: and not allow you to leave at all unless you pledge to me. Do make a decision soon. I want to find a good meal.” He considered for a quick moment and decided it was time for him to be generous. “Something that could feed three.” Sora would persuade easier if he had a good meal in him. Who didn’t?
Sora’s gaze flicked between the two of them, not a bit of trust there. “And what if I do just want to leave?”
“So what if you do? I don’t remember asking what you want in the first place.” Yuuri raised one elegant hand to point at him. “Your options are to pledge to me now and be allowed to feed under my direction, or to not do so, and not feed at all. How long could you manage without that?”
It would depend on so many factors. There was a chance that Sora could escape and flee to one of the other cities where Yuuri didn’t have jurisdiction. Yuuri suspected that he wouldn’t want to take the chance. He looked just that little bit too hungry.
The same thoughts must have gone through Sora’s mind, or similar ones at the least. His lips thinned before he jerked his head in a motion that only vaguely resembled a nod.
“Good boy,” Yuuri praised. “Now open your mouth nice and wide.” He slipped a silver dagger from his belt and pressed the tip of it against his wrist. There was the faintest hint of pain, but Yuuri enjoyed the sensation, especially as a few drops of blood welled up. He held his wrist over Sora’s open mouth and watched as three careful drops fell inside.
Sora snapped his mouth closed, drawing in a deep shuddering breath. Yuuri rested one hand against Sora’s shoulder for a moment before Dennis took Sora’s hand and raised it up to Yuuri’s lips. Yuuri savored the taste of fear in Sora’s scent now, so faint but there, and then bit. He took only a mouthful and no more, enough to seal them together.
“So now you’re one of mine.” Sora had indeed been a free vampire, one who hadn’t tasted his master’s blood in at least a century. But not anymore. “You can feed off of anyone you need to who isn’t marked as mine, but don’t kill them.”
Yuuri reserved kills for himself. Even Dennis, his most devoted and obedient spawn, wasn’t allowed to kill while in his city.
Sora rubbed the finger that Yuuri bit, a hint of angered pouting in his eyes that soon faded away, replaced by rising hunger.
“I do need something to eat,” he said at last. “It’s been a long time.”
Yuuri nodded. He could tell that just from the small sip of Sora’s blood that he’d had. He glanced at Dennis. “Well?”
That was one of Dennis’s duties when he was in town and serving at Yuuri’s side: to track Yuuri’s prey if he chose not to track it for himself.
“That’s one thing I came to tell you,” Dennis said at once. “Remember that girl a few years ago? The one who put the hole in me?” He raised a hand to his shoulder. It wasn’t visible now, but the girl in question had come within a heartbeat of actually killing him.
She’d even gotten away with it. At least for now. Yuuri perked up at the question.
“Is she back in town?” He would so look forward to taking his time feeding from her. They all could take their time. Days, weeks, maybe even months. Plans bubbled in the back of his mind.
But Dennis shook his head. An odd sort of smile hung over his lips. “I think this could be even better, Yuuri.”
He waited. This had best be very good.
“Her brother’s in town. Visiting Yuuto, in fact.”
Yuuri smiled. A low, satisfied laugh slipped between his lips and he looked down at Sora. “I think I have the perfect meal for us all to share.”
But Sora was frowning. Not the sort of frown that meant he was upset, though. A thinking type of frown. “What’s his name?”
Dennis considered. “Kurosaki. Kurosaki Shun. His sister’s Ruri.”
“Never met her. But I’ve met him.” And Sora’s eyes flashed with the sort of hunger Yuuri so seldom saw in anyone who wasn’t him. He rested one hand on his side. “They’re hunters. Both of them.”
Actual vampire hunters. That did explain why the girl had been able to come so close to killing Dennis. Yuuri licked his lips in anticipation.
“I think we should have a very long talk with him about a vampire hunter daring to enter a vampire’s territory,” Yuuri purred, eyes glinting bright in the moonlight. “Where is he?”
Dennis pointed off to the east part of the city. “About four streets that way. Shouldn’t take us long to get there.”
The three of them looked at one another for only a few moments before they all leaped up, rising to the top of the nearest buildings with very little effort. Yuuri was quite pleased to find his new liege servant was just as agile and quick as he himself was. That would make tonight that much more pleasant.
In a few moments they could see him, walking down the street, his hands buried in his pockets, head down presumably deep in thought, each movement quick. Yuuri’s eyes raked over him thoughtfully. Dark hair; he couldn’t see the other’s eyes from this angle, but he saw the telltale signs of a hunter: hard muscles, clothed for quick movement if need be, and subtle grace.
“I want him,” he told the other two. “We’ll all feed from him tonight, but he won’t be killed.” His smile hadn’t vanished at all. If anything, it grew wilder and more intense. “He’s going to be mine.”
He could see the displeasure in Sora’s expression and the amusement in Dennis’s. He rested a quick hand on Sora’s shoulder.
“I’ll let you help train him,” Yuuri promised. “But he still belongs to me.” Just like you do, existed in his words, spoken or not. Sora turned back to stare at their prey, nodding a brief acknowledgment. Yuuri slowly rose up to his feet. “You two, corner him. Then I’ll take him.”
To their credit, they didn’t wait. In the same moment, they leaped down toward Kurosaki Shun, pinning him in the best place of all: where his only place to go would be down a dark alleyway, just like the one he’d met Sora in, lit only by moonlight and starlight, surrounded by buildings that right now had few people living in them, and those few would not answer any calls for help. They knew who their city’s master was. They knew to keep quiet.
And if Yuuto wanted to protest Yuuri taking what he wanted, then Yuuri had a few words for his little brother: such as to remember who his master was. He thought they settled that long ago but there were moments when his brothers all needed a refresher course in who owned them as well.
Yuuri’s gaze brushed past Sora and Dennis once more, possessive pride surging up. Definitely worth having. Worth being his. Sora had a cruel streak within that would need proper nurturing and Dennis enjoyed seeing Yuuri hurt others for the sheer pleasure it brought him to do so.
Which would make what was about to get started all the more entertaining for them.
Kurosaki thought that he could flee? Fool.
Yuuri brushed himself off and leaped off of the roof, aiming for his prey. Not even hunters could escape one vampire, let alone three, no matter how hard they tried. Though the chase would be splendid.
Time for their hunt to begin.
The End
Notes: So, I can't say I perfectly ship this, but I was thinking of what to write for the last day and for varied reasons I wanted something I didn't have to think a lot about and then this whole idea (including the ending) popped into my head. Maybe more to come in the future? Hard to say but I'm not ruling it out.

Reality Bytes, Chapter 5: Take a Break!
Yuto was very eager to begin editing the videos, and began doing so almost immediately. He spent a good part of the afternoon editing, only taking a break when Yuri and Yugo physically dragged him out of his chair.
“C’mon, Yuto! You’ve been at the computer for over eight hours!” Yuri said. “Take a break! Go outside! Get some fresh air! Touch grass!”
“Alright, alright!” Yuto said, trying to get out of his counterparts’ grip. “Just stop dragging me!” Yuri and Yugo released him and he stretched. “Okay, yeah, I’ll admit I’m a bit sore from sitting at the computer all day. I could use a break.”
“See?” Yugo said, nodding sagely. “Let’s go to the park! Maybe there are some duels going on that we can watch! Or maybe we can find someone to duel! Or we could duel each other!”
“Sounds like a plan!” Yuri replied. Yuto hummed in agreement, and the three boys left the house to head to the park.

There weren’t any duels going on when they reached the park, but the three boys did see Shun birdwatching. Yuto smiled and approached him. “What kind of bird is that, Shun?” he asked, noting the bird that Shun was currently observing.
Shun smiled. “It’s my favorite bird, the Komodori,” he said. “Also known as the Japanese robin.”
Shun ruffled Yuto’s hair, and the eggplant blushed slightly. The taller boy had started calling Yuto his little robin shortly after the two of them started dating, so Yuto had a pretty good idea of why the Japanese robin was Shun’s favorite.
Yuri smirked. “Well, I see Dennis and Sora over there, and I see the girls over there,” he said, pointing in the two directions. “So why don’t we leave you two lovebirds alone and go spend time with our own partners~”
“Yes, I wanna hang out with Rin-Rin!” Yugo said eagerly. “Bye, guys!”
He ran off towards the girls, yelling for his girlfriend, and Yuri chuckled. “See you two later!~” he said, meandering off towards his own boyfriends. “Have fun!~”
