It's interesting how some names have become so associated with a certain character that they can never be used again, and how when Japanese people make an English character name (or anyone making a name from a language different from their own) they don't know that and don't care. Like, there's a character in Recettear named Caillou, No English speaking person would ever attempt that, that name is scorched earth.

Recettear is the story of an item shop, the girl who lives in it, and the fairy who turned her life upside down. Recette Lemongrass finds herself in charge of an item shop built into her house, in order to pay back a loan her father took and then skipped out on—and Tear, her newfound fairy “companion,” won’t take no for an answer! As Recette, you have to decide how you’ll get your stock—either through playing the markets in town or going out into the wild with an adventuring friend and thrashing beasts until they give up the goodies—how much to sell things for, what the shop should look like, and how to best go about getting the money Tear needs to pay off the loan. If you can’t come up with the money… well, hope you like living in a cardboard box.

Last year as a New Year's resolution I set out to play as many new games as possible for this year. I spend a lot of my time playing games as they are very endearing to me and one of my favorite ways to dive into in this life. I will now list all the games I played to completion this year. I am pretty happy with how many I managed to go through. Some I haven't necessarily finished as they are more open ended, but I'll still list them if I think I spent a respectable amount of time learning and toying with them. Pretty good I think. I recommend this approach if you have any interest in games, to just play as many new ones as you can. Just pick a direction and keep going. This list is incomplete because I probably still can sneak in another two games.

If there are any games you'd like me to check out (More likely to happen if they are obscure and on the shorter end), I'd love to hear it. I think I will keep this pace for next year as well. After three years, I'm finally returning to daywalker status and will be operating on Normal American Hours. I've also been thinking of maybe starting to stream again (after not having done so since 2015).

Only problem is, I was never much of a game streamer Back in the Day™, and all of my go-to stream options (horrible fanfic, terrible hentai and copyrighted anime) would get me nuked from Twitch. So, I ask you, dear audience: What would you want to see me stream?
