Undisputed Superiority of Online Classified Advertising Over The Traditional Mediums
No one will contest the fact that the internet has brought about a revolution of sorts in our lives. It has expanded our horizon and considerably widened our choices. Today, for placing classified ads Delhi or any other city's residents will definitely consider the online classified advertising websites. However, it was not so in the not too distant past. Since the past few years, the internet has gradually started taking over the traditional communication mediums, be it the print or the audio/visual media. Every role of the conventional media such as conveying news and knowledge about events, moulding mass opinion, spreading awareness, publicizing particular events, advertising at local as well as national level, etc. are being performed even by the media present on the World Wide Web.
Tumblr media
Among other things, classified advertising is a section of the print media that has adapted itself especially well to being displayed on the internet. From the perspective of both the sellers and the buyers, the widening of reach and choice is a feature of online classifieds that cannot be matched by the traditional classifieds. So, for a resident of Delhi placing an ad or searching through classified ads Delhi is not going to be a limiting factor. Convenient shipping has made it possible for him/her to consider global options. Another major positive feature working in favor of the online classified websites is their facility of free classified posting.
Posting an online classified ad is a child' play. Filling up a simple form is all that is required. Besides, unlike placing an ad in the conventional media where the number of words of the ad governs its pricing, free online classifieds come without any such issue. You can give a detailed description of your product/service and also add photographs for added impact.
The free online classified ad websites are equally beneficial for the prospective buyers too. Ease of search is a key feature of these sites. Locating an item of interest in the middle of the dense print of a classified newspaper is a nightmare when we compare it to the clear categorizations found in online classifieds. Some classified sections such as real estate, personals and services are local in nature and in their case, categorization of the ads on basis of location is a big help. For instance, when searching through these classified ads Delhi residents can filter their search and reduce the scope by specifying Delhi as the preferred location.

Sanctuary Luxury Home
California’s Most Expensive Home is For Sale – priced at $160 million!
Location: Loon Point, California, USA
Source: TopTenRealEstateDeals.com
California boasts one of the United States’ most expensive real estate markets, led by the city of San Francisco with the nation’s highest median home price of $1.5 million. San Jose, Oakland, and Los Angeles also rank in the top ten by the same measure. California’s current priciest home, however, isn’t in one of those urban centers.
Currently owned by hedge-fund manager and Julliard school-chairman Bruce Kovner, the cliffside estate known as Sanctuary at Loon Point overlooks the central California coast from the beach town of Carpinteria. If the property gets its $160 million asking price, it will be the second most expensive home ever sold in the state, behind only Jeff Bezos’ purchase of the Warner Estate for $165 million, and the third most expensive in the nation, topped by the $238 million sale of a massive Manhattan apartment overlooking Central Park.
The property’s 2,129 feet of coastline bluff and 22 acres of lush landscaping is divided into five parcels featuring two distinct estates, Ocean View and Bellevue, connected by a private, gated road.
The homes have been carefully positioned to take advantage of the natural contours of the landscape and maximize the ocean views. Both homes feature stunning Mediterranean-style mansions crafted from the finest materials from around the world.
Terra-cotta tile roofs, high ceilings with exposed natural beams, hardwood floors, stone archways and marble accents impart an atmosphere of rustic grandeur.
Open floor plans and floor-to-ceiling windows take advantage of the natural light. Huge kitchens, grand libraries, fireplaces with intricate mantles, oversized pools, beautifully designed courtyards with marble statues, lovely rose gardens, and ocean-view terraces with palmtrees provide space for entertaining guests or enjoying the private serenity afforded by the home’s unique location. Between the two residences, the property offers ten bedrooms, twenty one bathrooms and 14,189 square feet of interior space.
A large natural pond on the grounds attracts ducks, herons and other local fauna. The scenic Barranca Path winds down the cliff to the beach below, where coastal birds can be observed. Located on the migration route of the California Grey Whale and home to both sea lions and harbor seals, the property’s combination of beach and bluff offers a unique opportunity for wildlife lovers. The area is well known for its spectacular sunsets.
Carpinteria, located in southeastern Santa Barbara County and about eighty miles from Los Angeles, calls itself the “world’s safest beach.” In addition to calm waves and sandy shores, the idyllic community is home to the world’s largest Torrey pine tree, the University of California’s Carpinteria Salt Marsh Reserve, the Carpinteria Seal Sanctuary, and the Santa Barbara Polo Club.
Beautiful and secluded, the small city has long been a draw for Hollywood types looking to escape from the stress of LA’s busy metropolis. Celebrities with beach homes in the area include George Lucas, Kevin Costner, Ellen Degeneres, Robert Zemeckis, and Ashton Kutcher.
The listing is held by Mauricio Umansky and Eric Haskell of The Agency.

My name is Mark Garner.  I live in Palo Alto, California.  My passion for nature, places, and different cultures is at the core of my inspiration and the subject of my work.  I am a realist with my brushes.
In 2010 after 25 years of real estate sales I “retired” to pursue my passion – watercolor painting.  A big thanks to my wife for supporting us during this time.  Because I had been busy raising a family and building a career I literally painted 5 paintings in those 25 years. It came to the place that I could no longer walk into an art gallery, knowing that I should be creating…not necessarily to grace a gallery…just necessarily to use the talent God gave me.
Other than one painting class at San Jose State University in the late 70’s, I am self-taught.  That one class though was very important.  In it I was introduced to the painting technique that I employ today.  I am forever grateful to Professor Brose!
Today I am back in the workforce, so instead of painting 5-6 days a week for 6 hours a day, I paint about 4 days per week with two of those days being 6-8 hours and a couple more days of 2-3 hours.
As you can see I am not a “traditional, transparent” watercolorist.  I am an opaque realist, who cares about detail and how those details can excite the viewer.  I should mention that during the 5 years that I was unemployed, I created about 50 paintings.  My paintings average 60-100 hours each, so I was averaging about one painting per month.  Today being that my studio time competes with a 40 hour work week, I am now creating a finished piece in about 6-8 weeks.
So, back to my technique… obviously I work from photos.  And fortunately for me and clients, the photos don’t have to be award-winning images.  Composition is what’s most important, followed by color.  It’s not about reproducing a photo in paint.  It’s about creating a piece of art that enriches life, brings back fond memories, encourages an adventure, or simply makes you feel good.  Often, I will paint from multiple images, use some artistic license, or if the client wants a particular image that’s what I give them.  Friends were interested in seeing my paintings in process, so I created a blog where I post images of my works in progress.
I am an opaque watercolor artist.  What does that mean?  It means that I use multiple layers of paint, and in some places I include white gouache.  When you do that your paint becomes opaque.  For a long time, I was embarrassed to admit to painting in an opaque style, because it wasn’t “traditional”.  Years ago I had a couple of pieces accepted into an exhibition where I overheard an art teacher tell her student that my paintings weren’t real art, and weren’t worth even creating.  I think she preferred transparent!  It took me awhile to get past that, but today, who cares?  Enjoy “your style”, let ‘er rip, and let the critics suck it.
For me, to get the results I want I work almost exclusively on Arches hot press watercolor board.  20”x30”.  I just recently completed a painting “Vernazza” on a 30”x40” board…that was a lot of brush strokes.  I thumbtack the board to a wood sub board so that it stays as flat as possible.
I used to paint only with Winsor & Newton Series 7 brushes.  Then a few years ago they became hard to get, and so now my brushes of choice are Escoda Reserva Kolinsky. The tips don’t last nearly as long, but they are a lot less expensive so it’s a wash.  90% of my work is accomplished with size 4 brushes down to 000.  I lay out skies and large areas with a 2” brush and a number 8 round.
My paint of choice is Daniel Smith Extra Fine Watercolor.  My palette is made up of 19 different colors, and none of them are black.  When I want deep black I use Payne’s Gray.  For me Payne’s Gray has a color richness that is preferable to any black.  Oh, and I have done a handful of paintings on Ampersand Aquaboard.  There’s an interesting material.  Check it out… it’s unique.
So, as I mentioned earlier I have a passion for travel, culture, places, people.  These days I only photograph with my cell phone…the image quality is just fine, and I don’t look like Joe tourist. After I return home, I number all the photos I have taken that I think might make for a good painting, and set them aside.  I then go back a day or so later and see what image inspires a painting.  I then print out that number painting on premium glossy paper and there is my reference material.  At times, it might be 2-3 glossy pieces of paper that become my reference.  The painting I am involved with now “Stockholm Harbor” is 6 different reference photos.
When it comes to subject matter, landscapes I would say are my favorite. And that’s simply because I love nature.  I’ve walked coast to coast across northern England.  Last fall I walked with my wife across northern Spain, the 500 mile Camino de Santiago.  I’ve walked in Nepal for a month with Everest basecamp as the high point.  And through the years I’ve spent many weeks in the high Sierras of California.
Nature is a Spiritual thing for me. It’s there that I get closer to God, get recharged in my daily life, and find the most inspiration for creating. The great thing about nature is, you come across a lot of great stuff. Trees, water, animals, beaches, mountains, clouds (tough to paint), and fellow travelers and pilgrims recharging their own batteries, or simply living their daily lives.
My paintings start with as few pencil lines as I can get away with. I tighten all my paintings up with my brushes and paint. I guess that’s why they take so long. But for me, my joy is in the details.  Often I paint using a magnifying glass to make sense of what little detail is hiding in the photo. While I am creating a painting, if I shot the photo, I am enjoying the memory of being there, the excitement I felt. If a client shot the photo I am enjoying what they saw, why this is meaningful to them, and hoping to get there if I haven’t been.  I want my work to be a great memorial.
I want to finish with a word of encouragement. I learned a valuable lesson those years ago when I overheard the teacher criticize my work. It was mean and unnecessary.  She simply could have said to the student, that’s not my style or my preference.
There’s no right or wrong, good or bad with art! It’s perfectly fine to have preferences, in fact that’s needed.  Believe it or not, I’ve never painted plein air.  I‘ve never completed a painting in a day, let alone an hour.  I envy those of you who can do this.
Yes, I am probably missing out on something, or maybe, for me, I am not.  Some would look at my art and say, “loosen up!” I look at some art and I say, ”I don’t get it”,”I don’t understand”.  All of this is great!  We need all art, everyone’s creativity.  We don’t know each other’s stories.  And if we did, that would remove some of the mystery, and allow for more acceptance.  So, I thank Doodlewash for being a place where watercolor art and artists are appreciated, and known.  Keep doing your thing.  Create, explore, stay to your course, whatever blesses your life and others.  Hey… bring some joy!

Wealthy murder suspect freed on bail as man accused of welfare fraud stuck in jail California woman whose friends raised $35m for her is on house arrest as a man who can’t afford bail has two options: plead guilty or stay behind bars
Joseph Warren sees no sunlight and never gets fresh air. The 60-year-old San Francisco man, locked up for more than a month, said he has become suicidal, rarely eats the jail food and tries to sleep as much as possible when he’s not crying in his small cell. As a gay man, he is afraid he will be assaulted in the shower.
Warren is awaiting trial on welfare fraud charges. Charged with stealing roughly $5,000 from the government – an accusation he denies – a judge recently set his bail at $75,000, which he can’t afford. His only options are to plead guilty or stay incarcerated.
In the same region, another criminal defendant is preparing for trial in a very different setting. Tiffany Li, a wealthy real estate heir who is accused of conspiring to murder the father of her children, is able to remain under house arrest after posting $4m in cash and pledging $62m in property for her bail. She has a multimillion-dollar mansion 10 miles south of Warren’s jail.
The parallel cases moving through the San Francisco Bay Area’s courts have shone a harsh light on a system that critics say is fundamentally flawed and unconstitutional, where wealth can buy freedom even for those accused of the most serious offenses while others facing minor charges are jailed indefinitely simply for being poor.
“It hurts. I don’t have the money,” Warren said, dressed in a bright orange uniform on a recent morning while seated inside a cramped jail visiting room in the San Francisco suburb of San Bruno. Guards stood watch nearby.
“I feel like I’m an animal here in a cage – less than an animal,” he said.
While Warren waits in jail, lawmakers and activists in California are pushing to abolish key elements of the state’s bail system so that people accused of crimes would no longer be jailed simply because they are unable to pay the fees. Supporters hope the reforms spread across the US – which has one of the highest incarceration rates in the world – and correct one of the cruelest aspects of the American criminal justice system.
The concept of bail was originally designed to ensure that defendants return for their court dates by requiring them to post funds upfront. But over time, bail effectively created a two-tiered system where the rich are immediately released while poor defendants are forced to languish behind bars, sometimes destroying their lives and leading to coerced guilty pleas.
On any given day in California – which has one of the largest prison systems in the country and has long struggled with overcrowding – roughly 46,000 people are in local jails waiting for trial or sentencing because they can’t pay bail.
That means people who are innocent or accused of minor offenses are trapped. From 2011 to 2015, one in three people jailed for felony accusations in California were never found guilty, according to a recent report from Human Rights Watch. In a two-year period across six counties, the government spent $37.5m jailing people who ultimately faced no charges or had cases dropped.
“When you’re in jail because you can’t pay bail, innocent people are more likely to plead to crimes they didn’t commit, because they need to get out,” said Rob Bonta, a California assemblyman sponsoring legislation to overhaul the bail system.
Even a short stint in jail can lead people to lose their housing, their jobs and their children.
Warren said his life had unraveled since he was detained in March. His fraud case stems from an honest misunderstanding, according to his attorney Elizabeth Camacho, a public defender.
The San Francisco native works as an in-home care provider whose salary is subsidized by the government. When an elderly client of his died in December 2013, Warren immediately alerted police, but continued to assist in cleaning the apartment, planning funeral arrangements and managing the estate, Camacho said.
He collected checks for several months while doing the work, the attorney said, but San Francisco prosecutors later alleged that Warren had stolen the $4,862 he received. The case dragged on, and Warren missed a court date last year due to his mother’s death, according to Camacho. As a result, he was arrested in March of this year and told he could only leave jail if he paid 10% of the bail a judge set – $7,500, nearly twice what the government claims he owes.
When Camacho arrived to meet Warren on a recent visit with the Guardian, he immediately delivered bad news: he learned from a friend that he has now lost his apartment of six years and all his possessions inside. That includes many items of sentimental value such as his late mother’s jewelry and family photo albums he can never replace.
“Everything is gone,” he said with a sigh, explaining that if his mother were still alive, she might help him post bail, but that he now has nowhere to turn.
Warren said he was losing work, too, and that regular clients who depend on him for care may be without help. He said he had been unable to reach his partner since he was taken into custody. The partner suffers from drug addiction, and he feared he could be suffering from a relapse.
Warren could only be released if he pleaded to a felony conviction and agreed to six months in jail, according to Camacho, who is preparing to take the case to trial next month. “He’s desperate to get out.”
Defendants too poor to pay bail face huge disadvantages throughout the process. Not only are they pressured to plead guilty, but incarceration can make it much harder to prepare for trial.
Research also suggests that black defendants like Warren are affected by racial biases at every step. African Americans are disproportionately stopped and arrested at higher rates, are more likely to face monetary bail and higher bail fees than their white counterparts and they subsequently face greater convictions and harsher sentences.
Low-income defendants who do manage to pay bail can also face severe long-term consequences since they are forced to sacrifice basic necessities and incur ongoing debts. Even when charges are dropped, defendants can still be on the hook for their debts with bail bondsmen, the private companies that collect non-refundable fees to post the initial bail that allows people to be released.
“You really can’t understate the downstream peril and hardships that the criminal justice system imposes on people, sometimes for the rest of their lives,” said Tom Hoffman, a former California police chief and prison official who supports bail reform efforts.
Ato Walker, a San Jose man, said his mother had to pay $8,500 out of her retirement money to bail him out of jail when he was accused of resisting arrest, a charge that was later dropped.
“It made me sick to my stomach to sit there and see my mom come up with that money we know we are never going to get back,” he said, noting that he felt targeted for being black when prosecutors argued he was a threat to society. “That was very humiliating. It was very racist in my opinion.”
Reform activists argue that people accused of crimes should by default be cited and released, and that those facing serious felonies should be considered for pre-trial detention on an individual basis based on the danger they pose.
“Once we make the commitment that the justice system is going to be about justice and not punish people before they are convicted, the solutions need to be targeted towards honoring the presumption of innocence,” said John Raphling, senior researcher with Human Rights Watch and author of the recent bail report.
Alex Bastian, a spokesman for the San Francisco district attorney’s office, which is prosecuting Warren’s case, noted that the defendant was initially released without bail and only taken into custody after failing to appear in court on multiple occasions.
Asked about the fraud claims, he added: “The underlying facts of this case will be presented at court.”
Camacho, however, pointed out that Warren repeatedly returned to court when he missed a few dates and argued that he should have been released under a monitoring program that would have allowed the courts to track him.
Jail budget data suggests that taxpayers have already spent more than $6,000 to detain Warren, who has a handful of convictions on his record, mostly minor non-violent misdemeanors, dating back to more than eight years ago. He is also hearing impaired and has struggled to navigate daily life in jail.
Warren said some of his family members didn’t even know he is in jail and that he didn’t want to ask his loved ones for bail money, citing a lesson his grandfather taught him about self-reliance.
“I don’t ask for no help,” he said.
Instead, Warren said he tries to pass the days asleep for hours on end, alone in his cell: “I just isolate.”

Adamant Tijuana is a residential complex located in Baja California, México. The project has 200 apartments of 14 different distributions in 26 levels, parking, public areas for coexistence and luxurious and equipped amenities.
The general volume of the building is made up of the intersection of the terraces and parasols making a kind of textured pigeon house that generates elegant and rhythmic proportions that embrace the complex.
The top of the building crowns the complex with an expressionist and elegant concrete frame that blurs the geometric partition of the building, breaking the rhythm and consolidating the Project as a architectural landmark in the skyline of the city.
The apartment tower is accessed through the motor lobby that represents the transition from the city to the house: it is a game between two scales and sensations, a hard square and a soft one that marks these dualities architecturally.
The sunny conditions of the area were carefully studied in order to use sustainable resources such as brisoleils, which cushion the wild sun in the north of the Mexico.
The proportions of the building walk as the sun walks, so that the inhabitants can ensure the best temperatures and weather conditions without resorting to air conditioning, thanks to the design of parasols and cross ventilation.
Adamant Tijuana mixes luxury, practicality and modernity in the same architectural container. It works to respond to the needs of the inhabitant and at the same time tries to provide it with well-being and a sense of community.
