Esta ilustración permite observar el tamaño real de los países (color oscuro) comparado con los tamaños de la proyección cartográfica de Mercator (color claro) utilizada desde hace siglos para elaborar mapas terrestres.

Se aprecia claramente cómo en la proyección los países incrementan su tamaño real mientras más alejados están del ecuador.

A reality show I would love to see is one where top fashion designers act as personal shoppers for real-sized/plus-sized people. The caveat is that they can't personally design a wardrobe for the normal people. They have to shop in the same stores the rest of us do. And I want this show to focus on how hard it can be for those of us who aren't straight sizes to find clothes that (a) fit us, (b) look good on us, and (c) are affordable, when (d) not all stores/brands/designers cut clothes for people who aren't straight sizes.
