my fave thing about the wad polaroids tumblr account is the way so many of the twitter people have kpop-related usernames... when im on twt and see a new pola i don't register whether the op is a kpop stan too bc my tl is full of it (and dnp) regardless but on tumblr the username is the first thing i notice
being a kpoppie really convinced us to not even blink before buying a merch item just because it comes with a silly little photocard 💀
#dan and phil#phan#amazingphil#dan howell#phil lester#adding the dnp tags for fandometrics 🫶🏻#im in no place to speak i've probably spent thousands of euros on albums and photocards#(only reason i didn't get the leather jacket is bc i already have one AND it's real leather not the ''vegan'' plastic that dan's is made of#i also think it's fun to see just how many dnp fans are also kpop stans in general. there's a particular kind of mentality#and way of speaking that those people (me included) have. like it's so easy to clock someone as a former (or current!) kpop phannie#(also like low-key? the dnp parasocialism made us prime targets slash audience for the way kpop fandoms operate)#lisanna talks

what i really dont get is why (some vegans) are super puritanical abt how eating animals products is cruel bc of the industry and climate change and for some of them its inherently immoral but they wont focus basically at all on exploited people. i agree. a lot, most actually, of animal products are optained in horrible ways, those animals are treated truly badly, the transportation causes climate change, and the sheer number of livestock does too. ok. b u t....... its not as if the alternatives they provide are somehow cruelty free. in fact many vegan alternatives are made by slave labour halfway across the world, by empoverished, overworked, essentially enslaved poor women often of colour and their children?? wheres all the outrage over that??? frankly Most things we use food or not are made by slave labour - wheres the puritanical outrage over that?? and they often ignore too that their vegan options do damage to the damn planet as well. almond milk being a prime example, w almonds requiring massive amounts of water to grow in drought ridden california. or vegan leather - so what is more damned plastic who goes to shit and you need to buy more of better than real leather is? and again they are absolutely right about some things but for how puritanical some of them are they dont seem even 1/90th as puritanical about human slavery and the damages caused by their own products
#like. youre so puritanical you wont eat honey. from bees???? which harms them exactly 0 percent in favt bee keepers take good care of them?#you wont eat underutilized eggs from happy freerange chickens#but youll be quiet as hell abt the other crap*#?#**unfertilized

I need a moment to be deranged rn. Enjolras would never be a vegan because of many of the issues that come with vegan morality and the exploitation of labor and the scam diet of it all what he would actually do is eat locally sourced foods whenever he can and be as much of a vegetarian as possible while not cutting meat entirely out of his diet he also would never wear vegan leather because it is plastic and he would own very few clothes and a real leather jacket that he bought vintage bc it’s more sustainable like if you’re gonna do this w him you have to at least do it right like oh my god. I recognize I’m being insane but this is also the insane ppl website.
#I feel seventeen again. what fucking year is this. don’t mind me this is my blog after all.#reading fics again. bc I’m crazy. they’re everything to me still.#roxy talks

hi, for the ask game :) 2, 4, 14 :)
Hello my love
2. thoughts on veganism?
You think you’re funny huh?
WELL
Idk bro I used to be vegan but now I’m not and yea those are some nice beliefs and it’s a nice movement but it’s a bit blinding bc then people think the source of all suffering is the fact that we eat animals and not capitalism and they’ll do shit like using fake leather thinking they’re helping something but fake leather is plastic and most of it will end up in the sea hurting sea animals so who’s getting help? Idk dude
Also I have a dog and he can’t have a vegan life bc it’ll be harmful for him, even regarding things for him to chew on, so what do u do in this situation? Which animal is the priority? Bc feeding dogs a vegan diet is harmful for them so… idk dude
Do u save cows and harm turtles? Do u save chickens and harm your pet?
Fuck capitalism
4. mythical creature you think/believe is real?
Okay MANY
I believe humans have been coming up with different explanations for the same things since forever so for example fairies = aliens = those myths of gods os creatures that are half animal half human = beings (I read a book that made me insane abt it)
But also I don’t fuck with sea animals who are we to say something is not real specially when this something allegedly lives in the ocean, a place we don’t know SHIT about
Also idk dude bc just because u haven’t seen something doesn’t mean it’s not real who am I to say it isn’t
14. do you think you're dehydrated?
You want me carnally
the questions

Same with vegan leather. Yeah vegans don’t like to buy leather but it’s just green washing pleather that people already buy bc it’s CHEAP real leather shoes and jackets are expensive. vegans are not single-handedly responsible for creating the demand for plastic textiles that’s been happening since the 50s

EVENS MOTHERFUCKER
i love u, anon
2. thoughts on veganism? broadly i am for it. but environmentalism comes first. so like.....wool is objectively better for the planet than plastic. i will buy real leather for practical purposes (eg my walking boots are leather) but i wont buy leather OR pleather for ~fashion~ reasons if i can possibly help it. I havent eaten meat since 2005 and my dairy intake is mostly limited to 'literally dont have room in the fridge for another milk' and 'proper chocolate/ice cream/cheese is an occasional treat' basically: good for the planet > good for animals, but disagree w the frivolous/rampant consumption of animal products? 4. mythical creature you think/believe is real? hmmmmmmm. statistically i think aliens exist? but likely not within reachable distances. probably some weird creatures we havent found yet but like.. i dont believe in nessie except for fun reasons 6. do you use a watch? i do! i have a ~fitness watch~ but mostly to track my sleep/stress. i do use it for watch-y reasons too 8. do you change into specific clothes for the house when you get home? i would rather die than wear jeans at home for more than 20 minutes. if i am at home i am wearing pjs/loose cotton trousers 10. on a plane, do you ask for apple or orange juice? i have never been on a plane! but apple juice > orange, esp long life 12. brand of haircare/bodycare/skincare that you trust 100%? no? last year for my bday i bought a bottle of faith in nature shampoo and it lasted literally over a year so i bought another but that is as far as brand loyalty goes lol 14. do you think you’re dehydrated? never. probably overhydrated if the amount i have to pee says anything 16. thoughts on mint chocolate chip? the only time i like mint!! i love it! 18. your boba/tea order? never had boba :( 20. favorite disney princess movie? uhhhhhhhh. not really a disney person. brave i guess? 22. do you have an emotional support water bottle? unless it is hot i barely drink water tbh 24. which do you find yourself using, american or british english? gotta admit i do sometimes phrase stuff in american english online bc it gets tiring having americans be amused by the way i talk lol. if i know u you can deal with my weird british idioms tho 26. how’s your spice tolerance? uhhhh. i dont seek out 'so spicy it hurts' but its not....the worst? if it is going to make my eyes water it better be really tasty 28. last meal on earth? deep fried tofu in kung pao sauce!!!!!! followed by.....big slice of cake 30. ask me anything ! you didnt!!

1. chipotle order?
i've never been to chipotle
2. thoughts on veganism?
i respect it and it seems cool in theory but ik a lot of people seem to not actually think it through and say things like how honey isn't vegan or how shearing wool is torturing sheep or smthn and like. thats literally just wrong lmao like absolutely i agree animals deserve better conditions than factory farms but also buying real leather is better for the environment and for animals than vegan leather bc vegan leather is literally plastic <3
this perhaps sounded more rude than i meant to be. oops
3. a specific color that gives you the ick?
none i think? i guess i don't like that green-yellow that kinda looks like barf. idk what its called i dont know colours
4. mythical creature you think/believe is real?
all of them definitely faeries i know those bitches are hiding things from me
5. favorite form of potato?
fried potatoes <3

that post was stupid. most people buy pleather bc its cheap, not bc theyre vegans/concerned about animals. also non plastic (genuinly plant based) vegan leather exists
that post wasn't even about what the main reason why most people who buy fake leather do it, though? it was specifically about people (vegans) for whom the reason (or at least one of them) to buy fake leather instead of real leather is because it makes them feel better about The Animals - and the corporations that have greenwashed plastic to appeal to those people. not every post on tumblr dot com is an essay including a comprehensive list of all different experiences and arguments. also, plant-based vegan leather is often even more expensive than real leather (while still being less durable most of the time), so idk how that would support your first point. i'm a vegan myself & i've been weighing the pros and cons of different types of materials (vegan and non-vegan) for myself for years. i didn't use to wear leather at all, precisely because it made me feel guilty and "dirty". nowadays, however, i buy second-hand leather if i want/need it. i've gotten over feeling bad that a cow died in the past so i could wear a 30+ y/o jacket that'll last me a lifetime, instead of buying into something that will contribute to polluting the whole entire fucking earth even after i'm long dead. personally, i would like to work towards one day feeling comfortable buying locally, ethically etc. sourced "new" leather as well. i've been plant-based for so long that i for example struggle to eat backyard eggs even though my moral code has nothing against them in theory (and i've never been the type of person to judge other people for using animal-based products anyway). letting go of individualistic beliefs concerning things like environmental justice and animal welfare can be rly difficult & i understand why some ppl will never want to lay their hands on anything that an animal died for. but i myself am interested in developing my worldview on this and learning new stuff. that's why i shared that post with that particular pov. idk why you think it's any of your business to preach in my inbox about things i already know and that aren't relevant to the actual point of the post in question anyway lol ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ it didn't contain false information or claim to be about more than it was, so there's no problem imco. this is my blog and i can post whatever i want. <3

2 3 and 4 for the ask game!!!! 💖💖💖
Hi Nima !! 💕💕💕
2. thoughts on veganism?
Answered before but i can talk more about this: plastic leather or acrylic wool is way worse than animal products
3. a specific color that gives you the ick?
Answered but you know what? Royal blue is too intense for me most days, and i want to repaint my room bc right now it's teal or turquoise and i'm a little bit tired of it (sorry Lukas)
4. mythical creature you think/believe is real?
I had to google search just now to remember jackalope was a fake creature

colors game: mauve & cream 😀
thanks for the ask anon!!!
cream: any piercings or tattoos? do you want any? lmaoooo anons keep asking if i do and i always say that i plan to get one asap and then someone else asks it and i still haven't gotten any. so no, no piercings, no tattoos. i want to get around like 12 tattoos but mainly some surrounding my favourite stuff (like i am a 100% going to get steve's bat, sounds like a bad idea? bc it is and i don't care at all), my dog and my dad 😌
mauve: any unpopular opinions? I've got a lot of those.
well, the most obvious one: i think billy deserved so much better, which isn't an unpopular opinion on my blog but outside of tumblr? yeah pretty much. to sum up i think the real deep reason why people actually hate him is bc he doesn't manifest his trauma in a way that is convenient to others.
i think veganism without any political engagement, especially without being anticapitalist, is just bullshit to make you feel superior to others even though you really aren't.
i also think that being apolitical is impossible bc from the moment you decide to not take part it's already a political decision.
age gaps (like 6/7+) creep me out, regardless of which age group the couple is right now (but i can understand like historical context so you know, elderly couples i kinda get it).
we should end all billionaires, every single one of them, there was a time you could become a millionaire by working and maybe it is still possible today even if rare, but billionaires have all gained that money on exploitation of others period.
i hate western europe (not you ireland and iceland, ily baby), they should give back or pay back all they stole from colonies, let me see yall get bankrupt and then say you're underdeveloped bc of bad management. (to be clear, it is the governments and rich people from people, yall common citizens are fine if you can acknowledge that the positions your countries stand is upon the blood and wealth of america, africa and asia).
there is no such thing as sustainable consumption inside capitalism unless you produce your own stuff and some (but just some) cases of local producers
don't know how this is a controversial opinion but everyone should access to housing, food, health and education by doing nothing at all, i mean completely free and equal to all, i don't give a shit. they are all human rights so there is no need for a condition there. tax are completely okay when everyone pays what is just and you get quality services in return.
we are almost past the point of being able to heal the earth ecosystem so we might as well just use the time we've got to be kind and human again, no need to be a productive part of capitalist society
leather and some others animal products are not on the slightest unethical. when you've got big meat production and you don't use every part of the animal, it's not just waste but it's also cruel and disrespectful to the animal. there will never be a time when everyone is going to be vegan, so those animals are going to die regardless, you might as well honour them by making every little bit useful. plus, real leather and real fur (i don't count those animals that die only for the fur in this, i am talking about meat produce) are way better for the environment than fake ones, they last much much longer and they don't pollute like the fake ones (that are plastic, even the biodegradable ones).
no one is past the point of redemption. everyone is a product of the environment and we can all learn to be better. even the people that had done horrible things still deserve a second chance, deserve to be rehabilitated and become better. that however doesn't mean the people directly hurt by them need to forgive them, they just don't deserve to die or be locked away for the rest of their lifes, which leads me to my next and final point
prisons aren't about punishing the wrong doings, but about making the wealthy wealthier. prisons should be about rehabilitation, but so far the greatest majority of them serve only to aggravate inequality.
I have so much more I could so but frankly I just can't bring myself to think anymore. can you tell that i'm a commie 👉👈

God I keep seeing that ‘vegan leather is just plastic and worse for the environment’ post and like lmfao is anyone thinking for more than 5m before hitting the reblog button (just bc everyone loves a good Fuck Vegans They’re Dumb Post.) Factory farming is literally killing the planet. I’m not saying plastic is cool and that we should manufacture more vegan leather or something but real leather IS worse for the environment. I’m not talking about your uncle who hunted a deer and ate all the meat and used the leather and every part of the deer. I’m talking about factories, where most animal products are churned out of . Those are literally the worse for the environment.

First of all, I really want to thank you for taking the time to answer that question; thank you for clearing up the misinformation and misconceptions that I had. Growing up in a better-off part of BC the only real opinions about the prairie provinces (esp. Alberta) have always been the antagonistic Oil Is Bad They Are Anti-Change Conservatives. It's better then to vote for a party that has a history of raising your concerns than one that antagonises you outright
(That Question for those of you who are just joining us!)
Hey no worries, this is something I have been struggling to puzzle out for a long time and it’s always nice when someone asks and listens. Like I won’t pretend there’s not problems and there’s not a lot of stupidity going back and forth, it’s just really frustrating when people have these kind of classist or elitist assumptions about... why people get defensive over certain things or how information about it spreads? Or how little people actually pay attention or participate - which i get it, in this post-truth era where people are spending long hours away from each other and are firing memes back and forth over facebook, people aren’t going to participate in government beyond voting. People don’t pay attention to how much gets lost or screwed up in the aftermath of voting because they feel like they’ve participated and no one has the time or the energy to hold the government accountable (but there are people who have sooo much time and energy to defend tightening our belts or why certain people get “enough” online, wild). It’s a vicious cycle of not knowing and sticking to your guns about not knowing and incorporating it into your identity because what else can you do. I’m not saying it’s right, I’m saying that it needs to change and adding fuel to the fire only makes the fire bigger.
And I can speak a little to the BC side of things too since one of my feet is firmly in that camp, my sister kind of ran into the anti-Alberta sentiment and got rubbed the wrong way when she started high school on Vancouver Island, and you get the anti-Alberta sentiment from Saskatchewan too and then we turn around and start slinging stones at people from the East Coast and blah blah blah and British Columbia doesn’t deserve their autonomy because They use Natural Gas and They dump Sewage and They run their Ferries on Fossil Fuels and Did You Know that Vegan Leather Is Just Plastic? And you do get the same sorts of stereotypical hippie dippie west coast sort of people who also aren’t willing to make critical arguments either, that’s true, but that’s not an excuse for neither of us to talk about it. And we’re always kind of awkwardly silent about 1. the conservative interior of bc and 2. the socialist urban centers of the prairies, things that out here in Ontario people are totally unaware of. We have overlapping histories, resources, and people, and we have to acknowledge that whatever happens we will always affect each other.
There’s a joke that Albertans are born in Saskatchewan and die in BC and I think about that a lot. I think a lot about how defensive Albertans are over Alberta even from other people from other provinces who come to work here* and I think a lot about how no one wants to really settle down and retire in Alberta, it’s a place that survives on transient labour that refuses to acknowledge how transient labour negatively affects the things and especially the people around it. TMX contributes nothing to our economy and yet it’s become this symbol of our suffocation by the rest of the country and in our own desperation we’re trying to sacrifice our neighbour’s autonomy and livelihood for our own and it’s not fair for either of us in the end... but how do we open up the conversation? I’m not sure yet. But thank you for having it with me.
Sorry, I know you didn’t sign up for another essay!
*I keep typing “here” even though I’m sipping my davids tea in Toronto because mentally i’m always in Edmonton lol

do tell your stories from psych ward please?
ok I have a lot bc I was there a whole 3 months and ive been remembering things abt it cuz of the time of year
the first ward I was in was the worst like honestly. nasti. it was like living in a waiting room, the sitting room had no sofas just like kinda padded wooden chairs and there were no real activities except "arts nd crafts" which was colouring in (god dont even). also they locked ppl in their rooms sometimes which was scary.
this sounds made up but I swear this was how it happened... the first person who talked to me after I arrived nd decided to go into the sitting room came up to me and asked me "are u happy?". I was still lowkey off my face recovering from an od and didnt kno what to say so I was like .. yes?? and he looked surprised like honestly????? so I was like no?? so he asked why and I must have looked bewildered cuz he was just like u dont wanna talk about it?? ok. and left me alone
the week I was there the ward was locked so we werent allowed out but there was a garden w a big wooden chair everyone called the schizo chair lol. I played cards w this guy who was actually an angel bless him he told me he made a genre of music called space techno and it was his dream to play piano in front of an audience. he made me a card and I have it on my wall.
while I was there there was a documentary on the bbc about how poor the standard of care was at this particular unit and we all sat round and watched it 🤪 it was p unsettling but thankfully I never experienced anything like what they were saying in the documentary and I heard a lot different opinions and experiences from a lot of different patients.
the 2nd ward I was in was nicer and a bit comfier and I met a lot of nice ppl. there was a woman who screamed a lot at night who I sort of became friends but I was a bit scared of her, I remember her letting me sit in the corner w her w all these towels and blankets and a bunch of junk like a pile of rubber bands and a vase and a toast rack??? and we put flowers in plastic bottles for some reason that I cant remember but I kept it by my bed with the sunflowers my parents gave me and we shot rubber bands at eachother which made me laugh and the nurses looked confused af. she let me come into her room and gave me this gross vegan turkey and we lay on the floor w our feet on her bed and looked out the window but I accidentally upset her by saying a word that triggered her and I had to leave her room. she saw me later on and hugged me and said it wasnt my fault.
there was a man who knew everything abt 80s pop like u could say any 80s pop song and hed tell u who sang it and the year and month it came out but he didnt rly understand social boundaries so hed come and hang out while my parents were there a lot. he also wanted to wear my clothes lol
I remembered the other day that I ended up putting my notebook in the shower after I wrote some trauma related stuff which makes me laugh to think about like god what a mental bitch
I was in the last ward in a different hospital like 2 months. it was by far the nicest one lol I had my 20th birthday there and my mum got me a stevie nicks hat and I just wore it around the ward cuz I thought well they think im crazy anyway so whatevs.
I went a progressively off the shits before my birthday (thought I was gonna die before then) and got sectioned twice, wouldnt sleep just paced around my room, stopped taking my meds which once they figured out they considered forcibly injecting me w antipsychs (thankfully they went against this on account of Mad Trauma), stole a butter knife and a pin badge and hid them in my room, got put on constant observation on account of crazy bitch shenanigans etc.
I was so determined to not take my meds that one time I had to fill out some form immediately after being given my meds and I kept it in my mouth the WHOLE TIME they were waiting for me to finish it. by the time they left it had mostly dissolved anyway lol.
I made friends w a woman in the first ward who got transferred to this hospital so it was nice to have someone I knew there. I still see her sometimes, shes from my town (not gon lie half my town was in that ward) and honestly she made the whole experience kind of bearable. she was always writing and playing music for us
there was a nurse there who helped me so much and I love him to bits and miss him every day, he was rly interested in basically preventing young ppl like me from ending up in hospital, he had rly cool tattoos and was bald w a big beard but had this soft irish accent and was rly kind and gentle. I remember him telling me one of the best things he ever did was getting over the hatred of disco music and when hes anxious he puts on disco music and dances lmao. also he taught me doing fake karate when ur anxious helps a lot.
I used to get dominos 2 for Tuesdays with this guy who wore a huge white leather jacket and told me eminem was going to give him a million pounds and he was going to use it to legalise weed and cure HIV and honestly I loved him sm he was real quiet and constantly paced up and down the corridors but he was rly nice to talk to. he hugged me sometimes which was nice too but the nurses werent keen on that
one of the nicest things was that there was a little garden outside this one visiting room and a couple of times my parents brought my dog with them to come see me and I got to sit in the garden and play with him
ok I have way more but this is already so much dkrjfjkkd

ppl keep reblogging that post abt how evil & toxic plastic manufacture for vegan clothes is directly from me bc uh… it has some off the wall comments discourse going on rn & just a lot of wild misinformation and ppl w/o basic reading comprehension going off on some real bonehead galaxy brain takes on both sides rn
like I seen several ppl say animals are not killed for leather (???) & that vegans personally wanna burn the rainforest down, and other ones like "u carnists just love MURDERING TO KILL" & "plastic isn't biodegradable… too bad bloodmouth sadism isn't either"
people are linking to peta videos like "sheeps are being TORTURED for wool" & saying shit like "vegans & non vegans alike agree: cotton is the environmentally friendly option!" (it isn't)
one person said completely seriously no jokes "stop attacking vegans over faux fur, the real enemy to the ecosystem is furries"
needless to say it is very entertaining
#people on both sides r being so STUPID it's like Where is a bgm track for yakety sax when u need it#the vitriol is so real lol i just hate petroleum industries personally#and i hate being told what to do or being told by others that they're ethical & i'm not bc ''they said so''#but people are MAAAAD lmaoooo#popcorn emoji basically

hello about the leather thing — I’m vegan but I personally buy real leather when I have to bc I feel it’s better than the plastic alternatives, but I only buy it when necessary. I really only buy leather shoes, otherwise I avoid it or buy secondhand, try to reduce the amount of leather I buy as much as I can. I do have a couple vegan leather things though bc I couldn’t get myself to buy real leather, so it’s conflicting. “True” vegans don’t buy leather, but it just depends on your priorities.
ah thank you for your input! this isn’t something i’ve ever truly thought about so i love hearing all this perspective and insight
