LOVE ME LIKE YOU.
Starring: Merula Snyde x f!reader
Warnings: none, just fluff!
Plot: you have to pick a date for the incoming Ball and all of your friends seem to have suddenly picked an interest in you. No one, however, made you feel as alive as Merula did. After a tormented night spent wide awake in your bed, you finally confront and confess your feelings to the lovely brat you have fallen in love with.
REQUESTED BY: @btvdc
VALENTINE’S DAY EVENT: “LOVE ME LIKE YOU”.
Quote: “Last night, I laid in bed so blue 'Cause I realized the truth They can't love me like you I tried to find somebody new Baby, they ain't got a clue Can't love me like you”.
﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏
“Let me guess… You haven’t picked a date yet, have you?” Tonks quizzically inquired, plopping down on the empty seat next to you.
“Bingo” you shortly replied, fidgeting with the umpteenth note you had received since the beginning of the week. Where did all of these secret admirers come from? Further more, why did they not sign their gushing letters, if they desperately yearned to be your date for the Ball? You were officially done with them and the absurd situation they were putting you through.
Your pink-haired friend chuckled and propped her chin over her hand, her bright eyes scanning the Great Hall in search for a potential candidate to accompany you to the infamous Ball “What about Andre? He has declared countless times that you’re his muse… I wouldn’t be surprised, if one of these notes has been sent by him?” she observed, pursuing her lips at you.
You averted your droopy eyes from the note to your ravenclaw friend, who was currently showing a new, expensive fabric to a rather joyful Penny. Well, maybe Tonks was not wrong about Andre… But the blonde potioneer was probably one of the other anonymous senders. You thought you had recognized her calligraphy earlier and, judging by the languid glances she was directing to you from across the room, there was no doubt about it. Penny had a crush on you.
“You’re probably right, but I’m not interested in him… And, for what can matter, I’m not going to choose Penny either. – you said, folding your arms over your chest – She’s way too sweet and pure to be my perfect match” you clarified, lolling your head back in dispair.
At this point, you had almost given up on going to the Ball. If a romantic experince had to turn into a stressful loop of anxiety and dissatisfaction, you would have rather spent the night locked up in your dorm, cuddling your pets.
Tonks snickered and stood up, shooting a knowing look at you “Ouch, poor Penny... Well, then I guess I should probably let you know that Tulip heard Talbott and Badeea talking about you in the ravenclaw common room yesterday. – she casually informed you, stretching her arms over her head – Actually, they were arguing. I mean, isn’t it weird? They’re both so calm and rational, then again they’ve lost control over you!”.
Your left eye twitched, your hand ripped up the note in your hand at the shocking revelation. When did she think it was the right time to let you know about it? Not that you were going to consider them as an option in the first place, but you would have surely avoided them down the corridors earlier. Any kind of interaction would have been detrimental in your desperate search for the right date.
“Tonks! – you whined, stomping your foot as a sign of irritation – Is there something else you wish to tell me?” you rhetorically asked her, palming your forehead.
She shook her head and turned her back at you “Nah, I’mma go to bed. And you should do the same!” she replied, ambling towards the exit calmly, as if she had not just dropped a bomb.
She was right. Maybe you were just too tired. And, maybe, you had already made up your mind. You knew who your heart desired, who you enjoyed sharing your meals, or butterbeers with. You had a fling with her. Nothing official, yet something important. You had not kissed many times. Actually, you had barely kissed. However, the way your lips brushed over hers, and the fact that the spark igniting your heart that very night was still vividly stuck in your mind were a clear sign that you were in love with her.
Dragging your feet along the floor, you made your way to your dorm and slipped under the covers without even changing into a proper attire. You were too stressed, too nervous and you struggled to fall asleep for hours. You tossed and turned continously, as you tried to make up your mind. You were conscious that, if you decided to pick her as your date for the ball, this time it would have been forever.
“Fuck it, alright?” you cussed, rolling on your back and staring at the ceiling.
Did anyone else make you feel the way she did? No. Was there someone else residing 24/7 in your mind? Of course no…
“Well… Maybe Barnaby? Argh, who am I kidding? He is always so sweet with me. Just stop, Y/N! I love her! There is no going back. I choose her” you said, maybe a little bit too loud, considering it was 2 o’ clock in the morning. One of your roommate groaned out in frustration and threw a pillow in your direction, that you easily dodged.
“Shut the hell up and ask her out. I wanna sleep...” she ranted, slithering back underneath the blankets to try to get some sleep.
The morning after, you met her at breakfast. You had a very hard time to approach her, especially when Ismelda shot daggers in your direction and seemed to be a minute away from jinx you. Your purple-eyed crush, on the other hand, had no troubles in glaring at her and making you the center of her attention.
“So, what’s the matter? Have you slept last night?” she commenced, cocking her head to the side.
You rolled your eyes at her and rubbed the back of your neck in distress “Please, Merula, don’t make things so damn complicated. – you complained, locking eyes with her – Be my date. I … I’d very much like it, if you just said yes” you blurted out, cheeks flushing up as she stared at you dumbfounded.
“Are you serious?” she asked, blinking skeptically at you.
“Yes, I am”.
“Prove it then” she challenged you, folding her arms against her chest.
You chewed on your lower lip in nervousness, fists clenched at your sides as you pondered her request. You were there, opening your heart to her, making the first step, and she had the audacity of teasing you? Was it not clear enough that you were serious about your proposal? Yet, that side of her personality, what most of your friends loathed about her, was exactly what drove you crazy.
“I love you” you simply quipped then, watching her lips parting in disbelief. Yet, you were done playing games. Sticking up to your intent to make your relatioship official, you cupped her heart-shaped visage in your hands and smashed your lips against her ones.
That was the kiss you had dreamt about for years. That was the kiss you craved and the one you could not wait up until midnight to finally steal from her. Merula was completely shocked, as if a lightning had struck her and she was left fuzzy and disoriented right after it.
“No one is quite like you” you breathed out, pressing your forehead against hers.
She blushed, pulling you in for another brief kiss “I get to have the last word, though. Don’t forget it” she joked, winking at you.
You chuckled and took a step back, bowing your head as a sign of resignation to her umpteenth declaration of her supremacy “See you tonight, miss Snyde”.

How do the HPHM characters find out MC has a crush on them? (Hogwarts Mystery Headcanons) - Part 1
Rowan Khanna
Tumblr media
Rowan might not know about this until they realise how differently you have been acting around them.
You were their best friend and you already were pretty close to each other. You would tell them your secrets and they would tell you theirs. You have never betrayed their trust.
Rowan notices you are acting more nervous around them. They thought it might have to do with the Cursed Vaults.
Whenever you began stumbling over your words, Rowan would just try to help you with saying what you wanted to say to them.
A first sign of you having a crush on them was the fact you were beginning to blush around them. Not just when you were stumbling over your words, but also when you were just spending time together.
They also began noticing other little things you did when were around them, like you running a hand through your hair, you fiddling with your fingers, you rubbing the back of your neck or head etc.
One day, Rowan decided to confront you. They began about you acting different around them and eventually would ask you if you really had a crush on them.
You couldn’t really deny it anymore, especially after they mentioned several things you did around them. You just told them the truth.
Before you could walk away, Rowan grabbed your hand and looked into your eyes. “Wait a minute… I have never said I didn’t like you that way, Y/N.”
You two would talk a little more about your crush and even agreed to go on a date with each other.
You would feel nervous, because you knew Rowan had a crush on Bill for a long time. Although, these nerves disappeared after the two of you had a really nice time on your date.
 Penny Haywood
Tumblr media
Penny notices you have been avoiding her for quite a while now. You didn’t seem to be able to talk to her properly, constantly stuttering and stumbling over your words before you would basically run away from her.
At first, she thought she might has done something wrong. Maybe she was the one who didn’t spend enough time with you before you were avoiding her? Or was she not being helpful enough with the Cursed Vaults?
She tried to talk more with you and began to notice you kept stuttering and stumbling over your words even more around her. She also noticed your face looked very flushed whenever you were close to her. You also seemed to be very clumsy.
You would quickly leave after an awkward goodbye whenever you two were together. Penny would think this is strange. You never had been acting like this before, so why were you acting like this?
She would look at you from a distance and notices whenever she made eye contact with you, your face became red. You would quickly look away and almost make a clumsy move.
Penny began to understand what was going on. You weren’t really avoiding her; you were just nervous around her. She immediately suspected it was because you had a crush on her. Her face also became a little red when she figured it out.
One day, Penny just walked over to you and lead you somewhere more private without saying a lot to you. You were looking slightly confused, wondering what she was up to.
“So… I noticed you have been very nervous around me… And you have been blushing a lot around me too. I was wondering if you have a crush on me.” She asked you, looking a bit nervous and flustered too.
You admitted to her you have a crush on her. You also told her you didn’t expect her to immediately say something and would be fine if she didn’t like you back.
You were about to leave again, but Penny decided to make a bold move and kiss you. “Don’t be silly, Y/N. I think it would be nice if we go on a date together.” She gave you a sweet smile and simply held your hand when you two walked somewhere else together.
 Tulip Karasu
Tumblr media
Tulip wasn’t stupid. She had noticed you had a crush on her pretty quickly. Although, she had no idea how to react to it at first. She decided to have a little fun and acted oblivious to your actions. She did this to make you surprised.
She knew you would think she would notice things pretty quickly. She always did figure out when something was slightly off about someone. Heck, she often managed to trick people because she knew exactly what they were planning.
She thought you looked adorable whenever you were struggling with telling her something nowadays. Hearing you stutter and stumble over your words was simply one of the things she liked. Not because it made you look like a fool, but because she thought you were trying so hard to tell her something. Oh, and she definitely loved how flustered you were looking, it made you look pretty cute.
Things were starting to change when people began making fun of you whenever you tried to speak to Tulip. They would make fun of you whenever you dropped something when you were working with Tulip or when you began stuttering. It embarrassed you, she could tell it did even when you tried to downplay it.
She would notice you were trying to keep your distance from her whenever they made fun of you. She didn’t like that at all. She decided to show all these idiots what was going on.
Tulip just kissed you in front of everyone and then gave these people annoyed look before she looked at you again. “I think it would be a good time to talk with each other after class, all right?”
You weren’t really sure what happened in class and felt a little frozen after what happened. You nodded when she asked to speak with you and the rest of the class went by like a blur.
Tulip had brought you somewhere private before she began speaking. “I knew you had a crush on me, Y/N. I’m sorry about not telling you sooner, but I thought it was funny to act oblivious about it. Also, seeing you try so hard made you look pretty adorable.” She would admit to you, blushing a bit as well. “Do you forgive me?”
You were a little shocked Tulip did that, but you decided to forgive her anyways. However, you decided to play around a little as well. You put up a thinking face and said something along the lines of ‘I don’t know, maybe I can forgive you if we go on a date.’
Tulip would laugh and then she nodded with a bright smile. “I would love to go on a date with you. I’m not joking around this time.”
 Merula Snyde
Tumblr media
Ugh, she definitely didn’t want to deal with you. You were already pretty annoying to her, but when you began acting even stranger than usual around her, she wasnt really sure what to do with it. She would rather ignore you.
However, it was hard to ignore you whenever you would have to work with each other in class. She would often just roll her eyes at you or make things difficult for you. You just continued to work hard, no matter how hard she made it for you.
She would try to make fun of you, but when you weren’t really defending yourself, she realised something strange must be up. Why would you let her insult you? It didn’t make sense! You were Y/N, the most annoying person she knew. You normally stood up for yourself! Why didn’t you do anything against her.
She began noticing more things that were strange. You kept blushing whenever the two of you made eye contact. You were always stumbling over your words and sometimes stuttered around her. She would sometimes make fun of you because you couldn’t speak properly around anymore. She also noticed you began dropping things around her and were getting clumsy. She just couldn’t put her finger around it.
It wasn’t until she overheard someone talking about people having crushes on others in her Common Room. She heard things people would do around their crushes and those things sounded really similar to the things you did around her.
Did you actually have a crush on her? When did that happen? She hadn’t been anything but mean to you. Maybe she was occasionally nice to you, but only on certain occasions. She was pretty confused by what she just realised.
She was mostly confused about what she was feeling for you. Had she been extra mean to you, because she actually liked you? Or did she really hate you? There wasn’t really something you had done to make her hate you. Sure, you often got into the spotlight and you were Jacob’s sibling, but besides that, did she have a valid reason to hate you?
Merula would confront you about it and was pretty blunt about it too. “So, you have a crush on me, what is next?”
You would be confused and then you would ask her what she meant by ‘what is next’.
“Ugh, what is the next step, Y/L/N. What do you do with a crush next?”
You would be even more confused, asking her if she really wanted her to something next.
“Why would I suggest something like it when I don’t want to? You are really slow, Y/N.”
So, you ended up going on a date with Merula, which you really enjoyed. Merula probably say something like she didn’t really hate it and would ‘perhaps’ like to go with you on a date again. Yeah, things between you were complicated, but they were improving slowly.

Hi.. I saw your post about hphm writing ask. Would you like to write some fluff about Talbott and my MC Viviana (Viv) please. Even Any fluff about Talbott alone too would be more than enough for me 🙂. Looking forward to it . Thanks and have a great time 🌸
I love Talbott and was really excited to get this request! As a general rule, I just right x reader fics so that everyone can enjoy them. I’m more than happy to write the fluff, and I really hope you enjoy it! I took this and ran with it, so hopefully it’s to your liking!
Pairing: Talbott Winger x Reader
Warnings: None, pure fluff.
Word count: 1.9k
Summary: Lil’ eagle boy overworks himself often, and you have to step in to remind him to take a break, take a breath, and enjoy the little things. Like flower crowns.
Note: I can’t draw for the life of me, but I would literally pay for a picture of Talbott with a flower crown. Please message me if you would let me commission that or something.
Flower Crowns
It was a Saturday, and you couldn’t find Talbott anywhere. You knew, knowing him, that he would be studying somewhere. The library? Too loud. His common room? Also too loud. His dorm? Not enough room for all his books at once. Your feet took you toward the abandoned Transfiguration classroom before you even realized where you were going. It was quiet, out of the way, and empty until Monday. That was the perfect place for him to go to focus. You stopped in front of the classroom and pushed the door open. It creaked gently, and you winced as you stepped in. You knew your boyfriend, and knew that he hated to be interrupted while studying. His head whipped around. The look on his face was a mixture of stress and annoyance, but once he registered it was you, it was replaced with a gentle smile. “Hey.”
“Hey. I was just looking for you.”
His smile grew ever so slightly and his voice took on a playful tone. “Miss me that much? We just saw each other last night.”
With a roll of your eyes and a light smile, you moved to occupy the vacant seat beside him. You turned to him, noting the literal mountain of books beside him. They had to be stacked at least a foot tall. A sigh escaped your lips as you looked over them. “It’s Saturday, T. Saturday afternoon. It’s a beautiful day outside. Why are you in here?”
He was scribbling something down on his parchment and answered absentmindedly. “There’s a Potions test on Monday, love. Don’t tell me you forgot.”
“Of course I didn’t forget. Do you do anything other than study?”
He looked at you like that was the dumbest question he’d ever heard. “You know I do other things. We went to Hogsmeade last weekend.”
“After I practically begged for you to go. I’d asked you every week, and you finally relented.”
He shrugged, almost brushing you off. “I want to do well in classes.”
“Talbott, you already do well in classes. I can guarantee you that you’ll walk into that Potions test and ace it, without even trying.”
He sighed. “I just want to make sure I do that.”
“You need to stop working so hard sometimes. You’re so smart, T. So smart. You need to take a day to yourself sometimes.”
He was staring at his books, but you knew he was hearing your words. You watched him from your spot beside him, waiting for any sort of response. When he was quiet for a bit, you prodded more. “You need to think about yourself, T. You’re going to overwork yourself and burn out.”
“I’m fine. Really.”
“When’s the last time you went a day without cracking open a book when you didn’t absolutely have to?”
He shook his head. “I don’t know.”
“Please, take a break today. Let’s go do something. I don’t want you burning out.”
“Let me just go over a few more things and then I’ll put the book away, alright?” he sighed.
You relented and kept him quiet company as he worked. It took hours of you trying to entertain yourself and pestering him for him to finally pack up his books. It was getting into the early evening when he finally packed up.
“Can we finally do something?” you asked.
There were only so many things you could do to keep yourself occupied in an empty classroom. You’d already roamed the class, looking at all the books that line McGonagall’s shelves. You’d looked through the books Talbott brought that he wasn’t using. You’d even stared out the window for longer than you even knew.
Talbott looked at you with a gentle grin and nodded his head. “We can do something.”
You grinned in response. “Meet me by the forest in ten minutes. If you’re not there, I’m coming to find you.”
“I’ll be there. I’m just going to put my books away,” he responded after a light chuckle.
You took his word for it and made your way back to your dorm, grabbing a bag and shoving a comfortable blanket in there. You also grabbed yourself a sweater, tossing it in the bag as well, just in case it got chilly later. Once you’d grabbed everything you needed, you set off toward the forest. Talbott had beat you there, and he greeted you with a playful grin. “For a second I thought I’d have to come find you.”
You rolled your eyes, grinning as you made your way toward him. You took his hand and led him toward the outskirts of the forest, far enough away to be safe. The area you chose was riddled with little flowers of all colours. You then set down the bag you brought with you, pulling out the blanket and laying it on the grass. You heard Talbott speak from behind you, the smile evident in his voice. “What do you have planned?”
You let out a soft giggle and moved to sit on the spread out blanket, patting the spot beside you. He sank down onto it, turning to you with a smile. You returned it. “I just wanted to spend some time with you. I feel like we haven’t had a full conversation in forever.”
Talbott was leaning back a little, his hands on the blanket behind him to support him. He scooted closer to you, his tone light. “Or, maybe, you’re too high maintenance.”
He was grinning, his tone light and playful. You gasped, feigning offence. “Excuse me?”
He laughed gently. “Clingy might be the better word? Attached? Maybe obsess-”
You cut him off with a kiss. He smiled gently against your lips as he returned it. When you pulled back, he was grinning. “What was that for?”
“Your Ravenclaw was showing. I needed it to stop.”
He laughed gently, leaning in to press a light kiss to your cheek. “You usually love it.”
“Not when you’re making fun of me.”
He grinned, moving to place an arm around your waist. You looked at him, taking in that beautiful moment with that beautiful boy. It struck you, just then, how far you two had come. Talbott, usually reserved, quiet and lonesome was different with you. He was almost carefree. It was a wonderful feeling, realizing that you brought this out of him, even if it was only with you. He pulled you out of your thoughts with a soft clearing of his throat. You felt a blush rise to your cheeks before looking away. “Sorry.”
He tugged you closer by the arm that was draped around you. At this point, your thighs were pressed against each other. You picked your head up to look at him, and found that he was already looking at you. “What were you thinking about, (Y/N)?”
You shook your head. “Nothing.”
“I don’t buy that,” he mused.
You gave him a timid smile. “Just thinking about you.”
“About me?”
“Yeah.”
“What about me? Good things?”
You giggled. “Always good things, T. Just shocked at how different you are with me than you are with other people.”
A grin took over his face. “What can I say? You bring out the best in me, darling.”
His cheesiness made you roll your eyes, but the smile on your face was sure to let him know that you appreciated the comment.
The two of you spent some time chatting out in the open field, enjoying each others’ company. You, at some point, absentmindedly started to play with the flowers around you. You picked one, and with a grin, stuck it in Talbott’s hair while he was mid-sentence. He turned to you, raising an eyebrow. “Really?”
You beamed at the sight in front of you. Talbott was a slightly intimidating looking guy, and the flower in his hair was in total contrast to that. “You look so cute.”
He dropped his gaze to the blanket in front of him. You caught the smile and the light blush that dusted his cheeks. You giggled softly, moving to lean into his side. He wrapped an arm around you. “Well, if it looks that good, I see no need to take it out.”
You continued to pluck some flowers, suddenly getting an idea. You started tying them together with the stems, starting to make them into a haphazard circle.
“What are you doing?”
“It’s a flower crown,” you replied as if it was obvious.
“A what?”
“Usually you need a wire to put the flowers on, but we don’t have that right now. You just tie the flowers together and make them into a circle that will fit your head.”
You glanced over at him and caught him starting to gather up his own flowers. A light smile found its way onto your face as you turned back to the crown you were working on. When you were finished, you proudly presented it to him. It was a floppy mess of stems and blossoms, but he looked at it like it was the most beautiful thing in the world.
“For you, my love,” you giggled as you set it on his head.
He grinned at you, halfway through his own. You took in the sight of him with the crown on his head, looking even more beautiful than he had with just the single flower in his hair.
The sun was setting, and the golden glow on him in that moment made your heart skip a beat. He looked so soft. So sweet. He didn’t even notice your staring as he was so focused on his own crown. He got it done a few minutes later and grinned as he held it up for you to see. It looked a lot worse than yours, but you loved it because he made it. He moved to set it on your head. “You, my darling, look radiant as ever.”
You giggled, and for what felt like the millionth time that night, blushed. The two of you sat together under the setting sun, chatting and cuddling up for warmth, or so he said. The night air was not, by any means, chilly, but you suspected that he wanted to be close to you without admitting it.
After sitting out there well past curfew, the two of you decided to pack it in for the night. Hand in hand, you walked toward the castle, still wearing your flower crowns. He walked you back to your common room and the two of you stood there for a moment. He finally spoke. “Thank you for convincing me to do something other than study. I needed that.”
You giggled. “I’m always happy to distract you. Those books get more attention than I do.”
“That’ll change, I promise.”
“It better,” you replied playfully.
He grinned at you, leaning in to place a delicate kiss to your lips. You placed a hand on your cheek as you returned it. When he broke away from it, he gave you a light smile. “Maybe we can do something else tomorrow?”
You grinned. “Of course. Any suggestions?”
“Doesn’t matter to me, as long as I get to spend time with you. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
After one more gentle kiss, he was off to his common room. You watched him go, only turning to head inside when he was out of sight.

Mc: Oh hi Talbott! *she comes close to his ear to tell him a funny secret and blows when whispering to him, it wasn't even that close actually*
Talbott: *His skin bristles and he closes the book so fast to run flushed from his face to his neck* Damn, I can't ever concentrate with her around...

Magical Christmas #9
Tulip Karasu
Tumblr media
"Y/N, wait!" Tulip races down the hallway. You turn to her. "Don't you have packing to do?" You ask her. The train leaves in three hours and you know for a fact that Tulip hasn't packed up yet. She rolls her eyes. "I'll be fine." She says. You know she will be. She will always be fine.
"I can't leave without giving you your gift." She says. "Baby, you have an owl, you can just send it, like I will." You reply. But Tulip shakes her head. "I can't." She says. "Now close your eyes and hold up your hands." She all but commands. You slowly oblige.
You startle a little when you feel her lips upon yours. She does not care that other students can see. She is kissing you, her hands clasping your own. "Happy Christmas." She whispers to your lips.

The Story Of Us
Pairings: Charlie Weasley x Hufflepuff!MC, Bill Weasley x Hufflepuff!MC, Charlie Weasley x Chiara Lobosca
Word Count: 1.9k
Warnings: Cheating, Strong Language, Slight Angst
A/N: This is halfway a songfic halfway not, also this was written with my mc in mind so y/n isn’t going to be a blank slate. My mc oregon is also in a band called Wreaking Havoc so that is in here although not mentioned by name so it’s easier to pretend I guess.
The Story Of Us
My wet socks felt weird against the stage floor. Tulip’s reckless strumming on an electric guitar and Phillip, my replacement drummer, were the only things I could hear. It felt like I was under water, but then again, it was raining. Everything was muffled and all I could focus on was the music around me. The screaming crowd below me sounded miles away. “I used to think one day we’d tell the story of us” The memories flooded back, the happy and the sad all jumbled into one. “How we met, and the sparks flew instantly”
“Do you want me to talk to her on your behalf [Y/N]?” I still remember that day, we had just gotten back for our fourth year and Charlie had spoken to me for the first time during our Care of Magical Creatures class. I had opted out of the class the previous year but decided to take in this year as a release. And a release it was. I was instantly in love with Charles Weasley.
“People would say they’re the lucky ones” When the whispers and the stares got unbearable Charlie was always there for me. When he was around I didn’t care what the people said, all that mattered was him.
The rain poured down as I danced around the stage, “I used to know my place was a spot next to you” I could vaguely make out a silver head in the crowd so I closed my eyes. My black skirt was soaked in the rain but it still moved as I danced. “Now I search the room for an empty seat”
Memories of that night flow back. It seemed like half the school was crowded into the Gryffindor common room to celebrate their win. My eyes searched the room for Charlie the whole night, it was half past 12 and I still hadn’t found him. “[Y/N] [L/N], there’s something you should know.” Tulip had said to me. My gut immediately told me what it was. But the thing I could have never expected was that it would be my own roommate.  “Cause lately I don’t even know what page you’re on” The woman who had told me her secrets, the one I had told mine in return. She told me the reason I couldn’t find Charlie was that he hadn’t even been in Gryffindor Tower that night. Before we left to go try and catch them I felt a pull to look back. I caught the eyes of the man I had been fighting with for the past few months. “Oh, a simple complication, Miscommunications lead to fallouts”
I opened my eyes and looked back at the band. We were performing in the training grounds, but the crowd we drew was the biggest it had ever gotten. “So many things that I wish you knew. So many walls up, I can't break through”
The next party was hell. I had broken up with my boyfriend and lost one of my best friends in the same night. I could see from across the room how her silver hair and his ginger hair fit so well next to each other. My anger was unimaginable. My face was flushed and my grip on my firewhiskey tightened. “You need a break” Penny told me as she put a hand on my shoulder. “Yeah, I do. But really? I don’t even miss Charlie that much.” Penny gave me a knowing look. “Okay yeah I do, but like I miss Chiara so much more. Like she was one of my best friends and I- I’ve known her longer than I’ve known you even! I just can’t believe she would throw it all away like that.” And then she looked at me.
“Now I'm standing alone in a crowded room And we're not speaking And I'm dying to know Is it killing you like it's killing me? Yeah I don't know what to say Since a twist of fate, when it all broke down. And the story of us looks a lot like a tragedy now”
“Next Chapter.” The voice of the band’s backup singer pulled me back to reality. I look out to the drenched training grounds and find familiar eyes. We’ve been fighting for so long. It’s so hard I can’t take it anymore. “How’d we end up this way?” I’m pulled back into my thoughts as thunder cracks once more.
I see his eyes from across the Gryffindor Common Room. He’s already looking when I turn my head in his direction. “See me nervously pulling at my clothes and trying to look busy” I look away. “Talk to him.” Says Liz next to me. “What? No, he hates me.” I look back and he’s laughing with his friends once more. “You’re stupid if you think he hates you.” Tonks says, laughing at me. “And you're doing your best to avoid me” Turning to go face him I see that he’s vanished.
I run a hand through my drenched hair and suddenly I’m singing to the silver haired girl and the ginger boy once more. “I'm starting to think, one day, I'll tell the story of us, How I was losing my mind when I saw you here. But you held your pride like you should've held me”
~ ~ ~
I see her face lit up by the fireflies, the moon having abandoned us. She looks beautiful even as she’s singing about heartbreak. I stare up at her from the screaming crowd, wondering if I’ll ever get the chance to make up for what I did. It was never her fault, even though I acted like it was. I doubt she even knows why I was avoiding her. And then, somehow, she looks into my eyes and sings to me exactly what I’m thinking.
~ ~ ~
“Oh, I'm scared to see the ending. Why are we pretending this is nothing? I'd tell you I miss you, but I don't know how. I never heard silence quite this loud” As I sing the next line I meet his eyes again in the crowd. My wet socks had gotten slippery as the slightly uneven stage pooled with water. I turn and dance around my fellow bandmates instead of facing him. But I can feel his eyes on me still.
~ ~ ~
     She dances and everything melts away. All I can hear is her voice. Her voice was the thing that hypnotized me that day on the training grounds 3 years ago;
“Did you get my owl?” She asked me. Not very memorable I know, but she made it so. She was, and still is if not more, ethereal. I found myself wanting to impress her all the time. I fancied [Y/N] [L/N]. I fancy [Y/N] [L/N]. I find myself staring at her swaying body, her lips, her wet hair, everything about her is beautiful. But she hates me.
~ ~ ~
The fireflies buzz around him. He looks like a god. The sad part is I’m in love with him. But we haven’t spoken in months. “Now I'm standing alone in a crowded room And we're not speaking” But maybe, just maybe— No. He couldn’t. “And I’m dying to know, Is it killing you like it's killing me? Yeah” If only I could talk to him. Maybe things would get better.
~ ~ ~
If only I could talk to her. Maybe things would get better. “I don't know what to say” Tulip’s guitar rift ties in perfectly with the rest of the song. I wonder who the song is about. Considering she kept sneaking glances at my idiot brother and that slut it’s probably about them. I wish I could have been there for her when it happened. But I was busy sulking. Her words become crystal clear once more. “Since a twist of fate, when it all broke down And the story of us looks a lot like a tragedy now” Could it have been about me? A small part of me wanted to hope that she could ever fancy me in return. But that was foolish, she wouldn’t— would she?
~ ~ ~
“This is looking like a contest. Of who can act like they care less” The fireflies danced around his soft ginger hair. I couldn’t pretend anymore. My body sways but my mind is racing. His red “Head Boy” badge glimmered upon his uniform, without the robes of course. He never wore the robes. “But I liked it better when you were on my side” And at this point I realized that I didn’t care whether or not he loved me in return. I was in love with him and I was happy about that. I danced around to Phillip behind me, then Penny to my right. “Talk to him after the show.” she says quietly, as to make sure her statement goes undetected by the microphone on the stand in front of her. “Okay.” I whisper in return. Penny sang the next line with me. “The battle's in your hands now. But I would lay my armor down” Now it’s not just his eyes that I can feel on me. It’s hers and his brother’s too. But I don’t care. Not anymore. “If you say you'd rather love than fight” His eyes in the crowd are the only pair that matter. “So many things that you wish I knew But the story of us might be ending soon” The song has a newfound tone that it didn’t start out with. The song felt happy.
Returning to the final chorus, I sang like my life depended on it. “Now I'm standing alone in a crowded room. And we're not speaking. And I'm dying to know, Is it killing you like it's killing me? Yeah” I closed my eyes again, but not out of fear or pain this time. “But I don't know what to say. Since a twist of fate, when it all broke down. And the story of us looks a lot like a tragedy now, now, now”
~ ~ ~
I see her close her eyes in bliss and I laugh. I laugh. It’s a genuine and special laugh, one usually only reserved for her. I feel like even though it’s only been 4 minutes and we haven’t spoken… we’ve somehow reconciled. “And we're not speaking And I'm dying to know Is it killing you like it's killing me? Yeah” As she sang the final few words of the song I attempted to make my way toward the stage exit. “I don't know what to say. Since a twist of fate, 'cause we're going down. And the story of us looks a lot like a tragedy now”
“The End.” says Penny, marking the official ending of the song.
“Hi Bill.” She says, out of breath. Even though we’re both sticky from the leftover humidity caused by the roaring crowd and the now stopped rainstorm, she’s still the most beautiful woman I’ve ever met. “Hi.” I say back. This was a lot more awkward now that I was actually doing it than what I had thought up in my head. Her eyes flicker from my eyes down to my lips for a split second, so much so that it’s barely noticeable. And then it happens. I kiss her, and she kisses me back. It’s perfect.
“Oi! Lovebirds!” We’re interrupted by a voice, I turn around and it belongs to the one and only pink haired, Hufflepuff prankster. “Mind taking that up to Weasley’s dorm will you?” [Y/N] just rolls her eyes at her friend in response.
“Go to Hogsmeade with me?” I ask. Bringing her hands intertwined in mine up to my chest.
     “Of course.”

First Snow

--------------
First snow...
No, we’re not talking about that pathetic, grey, mashed potato-like mud that makes your socks wet. It’s not those soggy pieces of cold white cotton wool, blown into the folds of your scarf by the wind. And it’s not that icy-cold frost that bites into your cheeks and ears, ruffles your hair and pierces the layers of your coat and sweaters. It’s that warm, pure December snow that quietly falls from the sky in soft flakes.
- What fine weekend weather we‘re having today! - happily said Tonks as she was crunching on her cheese toast. - Last week, you said exactly the same thing about the snowstorm - remarked Talbott, briefly looking up from his book "Transfiguration Tips for Young Wizards and Witches".
"What’s wrong with enjoying life?" Tonks would have answered, but since her mouth was still full of food, she only managed “Fffoosss wwonkk ittph eehooaaifff?”
Indeed, everyone at Hogwarts was in high spirits: the winter holidays were in full swing, half of the tables in the Great Hall were removed to accommodate beautiful Christmas trees, and students from different houses were allowed to sit together. Y/N, Tulip and Bill were the first ones to arrive for breakfast and attack the apple oatmeal; then Talbott and Tonks joined them. The air was full of joyful hubbub: the owls, who already delivered their morning parcels, were hooting and flapping their wings; students were rattling with their spoons and cups or loudly discussing the latest gossip from The Daily Prophet . And yet, there was one man in the castle who did not share the common joy.
Charlie has entered the Great Hall and tragically plopped down next to Tonks. - It’s a nightmare. I asked Francesca Wayne out on a date, and she agreed. - And... isn't that good news? - Bill gestured with his spoon of oatmeal towards his brother. Coincidentally, some oatmeal flew off the spoon, soared over the table and sludged right onto Barnaby’s shoulder.
- Her agreeing to go on a date with me was good. - Charlie said. - We were strolling around Hogsmeade, and everything was swell until some fifth-year Slytherin student unexpectedly jinxed me with the Tarantallegra charm. I began to tap-dance like a madman!.. And then it got worse. I was still dancing by the time Fitwick showed up. He did cast a counter-spell, but.. - Charlie covered his face with hands, and now was talking through his fingers. - ...by that time I had already managed to plummet into some mud nearby… I suspect it was porlock’s dung. It smelled all the same. Basically, I looked like a complete idiot ... oh, crickey!
Just at this moment they noticed a group of cute Hufflepuff girls passing by. For some mysterious reason, all girls had their hair gathered in a neat, long ponytail. The tallest gal from the gang stopped and waved in their direction.
- Hee-hee! Hiiiii Charlie! .. How are your legs doing today? ..
The feeling of shame caused Charlie’s face to take on a shade of beet.
- This is officially it. I quit girls. From now on, I will become a druid, go somewhere like Egypt and will only be dealing with dragons.
- Oh come on, Charlie! Don’t mind Francesca! - Y/N reassuringly patted her friend on the arm. - You know, I often see her in Potions class: she hides behind a cauldron and picks her nose, thinking that no one can see her.
- So true, - Tulip signed with her brows. - I bet she’s eating her boogers, too!
The whole company burst into loud laughter.
- But seriously though, - continued Tonks. - Let's forget everything about these bloody incidents and celebrate the weekend properly! Let's visit Hogsmeade, buy some butterbeer….
- Take a look at Zonko’s! ..
- Blimey, how could we forget about Zonkos’ for a split second?..
- Actually, this might be a good idea. I do need a new moke leather bag...
- I”ll get some sugar quills! ..
And so they agreed.
* * *
After shoving themselves into warm sweaters, hats, and mittens, they headed out of the Courtyard together. Bill, Charlie, and Tulip were walking in front, followed by Talbott, Y/N and Tonks. The group chatted about the upcoming semester and wondered which subject will have them writing most essays. Shortly thereafter, they met Professor Snape, grouchily making his way back to the castle, and they started proposing different versions of why he wasn’t around much these days and what mysterious business he was up to. Finally, they had an argument about what kind of festive pudding the elves would be making for the last day of holidays. Talbott betted galleons to Fizzing Whizzbees that the pudding will have strawberry flavor, Y/N voted for lemon, and Tonks - for cherry.
The road was gradually getting covered in white. Snow was sneaking into their boots, and the wind was merrily propelling them forward.
Suddenly, when friends were walking past a small brome grass field (now frozen and covered in snowdrifts), a large snowball glided through the air, furiously whistling all the while. It crashed directly into Tulip’s hood and majestically exploded with snowflake glitter.
- What the %#!*i9&! - angrily cursed the Ravenclaw as she turned around in search of the culprit.
Tonks was standing a little further away, now mockingly tossing another snowball up and down.
- Haha. One-zero, Karasu. C’mon you guys, we can't just walk away from this much snow.
Tulip shook her head to get the snow out her hair.
- Well, you're doomed, you little pink-haired witch! - she yelled and lunged herself at Tonks.
- Look at yourself, you tomato head! - metamorphine shouted in response and dashed away from her friend, laughing uncontrollably.
Unable to resist such good fun, the rest joined the battle, which was about to become the greatest strategic snowball battle in the history of Hogwarts.
They split into 2 teams. While one of his teammates was distracting the others, Talbott would conjure gigantic snowballs and avalanche them onto the heads of enemies via Wingardium Leviosa. Meanwhile, Tulip sneaked up on Charlie using a disillusionment charm; she grabbed his red hair and dipped him into a snowdrift right up to his neck. Bill, suddenly filled with brotherly instinct, jumped in front of Y/N and covered her from a charge of Tonks’ snowballs with his body. This sacrifice, however, turned out to be utterly useless, as the very next moment Charlie doubled the snow artillery in her direction; so much so that he knocked Y/N’s cap off.
At last, they tumbled in Madam Rosmerta's pub as one noisy lump of fun and laughter: cold, wobbly and covered with snow, but lively and carefree nonetheless.
- A table for six, please! - Tonks demanded in a jolly voice.
- For six? M’dears… - a low pitched, cackle-like noise came from a table at the very door.
It was professor Trelawney who tremulously perked up from underneath her thousand and one sherry-scented shawls.
- I think I heard I ... saw that you wanted a table for six? But did you know, m’dears, that the ancient scroll of prophecy specifically says NOT to sit down at a table on the sixth day of lunar December, if you are a group of six? The last one to sit down will lose a friend on the very same night ...
The group of friends exchanged puzzled glances. Of course, no one believed in Trelawney's predictions, but it was still very uncomfortable to hear things like that.
- Here, please. - Madam Rosmerta appeared in front of them before anyone had the time to reply to the terrible omen. She led the group up to a cozy table next to the fireplace.
- Blimey! What rubbish this old blind cat is saying this time? - Tonks hissed.
- Nonsense, like the usual. Every tea leaf class she’s now predicting a painful and a horrible death for just about everybody. Woo-o-o-o! Some dark forces are hovering over Hogwarts… - Y/N mimicked professor Trelawney’s voice and gestures. - But when aren’t they?
- Right. - nodded Talbott. - Besides, no one has died so far.
- Uh .. Well, who wants to sit down last? - Charlie asked hesitatingly.
- I’ll go! - volunteered Y/N.
- Suit yourself. - shrugged Charlie and hastily sat down.
- You don't believe those silly predictions, do you, Charlie? - Tulip settled down on a nearby chair. - Take a look, there are so many people around here sitting in groups of six. This doesn’t mean they will all lose a friend overnight ...
- Numerologically speaking, it is simply impossible, - added Bill and sat down, too.
Tonks sat down next to Bill. Talbott thoughtfully gazed at Y/N for a moment, and then he silently joined the others. Y/N was the last one to sit.
Without listening to friends endless squabble about Trelawney's competence, she stretched her legs towards fire, feeling blissfully warm and tired. Today was such a good day. And Madam Rosmerta is about to bring butterbeer for everybody! ..
- While we’re here, - Tulip cleaned her throat, - we need to make sure that there is enough of the wonderful drink for each one of us.
She took out her wand and pointed it at the glasses with beer.
- Engorgio!
The glasses had grown twice in size. They weren’t glasses anymore, really - they were jugs.
Bill raised his jug in the air:
- Let's drink to friendship! - To loyalty! - To honesty! - To dung bombs! - To holidays! - To Hogwarts!
Comfortably nestled at The Three Broomsticks, friends were clinking their glasses and drinking, and then some more, and a little bit more. At last, when everyone started to feel the soothing and flushing effects of the caramel liquid, Tulip grabbed a pack of Self-Shuffling playing cards from her coat.
- Alright, friends. How about we play some truth or dare? - she suggested.
- Since when does truth or dare require cards? - argued Charlie.
- Since today, you silly redhead. Highest card gets to ask. Lowest card gets to answer. I'll start, you chickens... Y/N, take one card, too.
Y/N stretched her hand forward and caught a card that jumped out of the deck. One moment later, the two girls smashed their cards onto the table. Charlie declared:
-Three of feathers and a phoenix. Hey, Tulip wins!
Tulip let out a wide mischievous grin.
- Y/N, tell us the truth then. Marry, flip, kill: Penny, Merula, Charlie.
Bill and Tonks immediately started to giggle and nudge each other with their elbows. Talbott and Charlie, on the other hand, straightened up in their chairs, leaned forward and stared at Y/N solemnly, without blinking.
After some thinking, Y/N tilted her head to one side and replied:
- Okay, I think I got it. I’d marry ... Charlie.
Tonks let out a loud whistle.
- I ... Uuhhh thanks I guess? - responded Charlie, blushing furiously.
- I would flip ... Merula. - continued Y/N.
- You mean you’d flip the greatest witch at Hogwarts? Ha-ha, that’s an interesting choice. - Tulip mightily slapped Y/N on the shoulder.
- Wow Tulip. - Talbott gingerly proceeded to remove Tulip’s hand from Y/N’s shoulder. - You pronounce “horrifying” differently than I do.
- Wait, so this means that you kill ... Penny? - Bill's jaw dropped in astonishment.
-Don’t get me wrong ... - explained Y/N. - She’s nice and all, but sometimes I get this feeling that she’s following me everywhere… and I mean everywhere. So yeah.
- Poor Penny. The sun-like creature who is always happy to see you. - Talbott chuckled. - And now, she has to DIE.
Their table shook from the loud cackling.
Brilliant! - Tulip clapped her hands. - The first round is over. Y/N, you won, now you get to choose who draws cards next..
Y/N chose Bill and Tonks.
- 7 of wands and 9 of stars! That was a close one, Bill. - Tonks’ face glowed up and her hair turned raspberry color. - So here is your dare, William...
- Oh no, no, no ... - Bill grabbed his red hair and started to crumple them.
- Don’t fret, dear Bill! I like you, so I will provide you with options... You can either ask Ismelda for a kiss or... you can kiss a garden gnome’s tummy!
Y/N and Talbott simultaneously snorted into their butterbeer glasses, almost choking on the drink. Bill, on the other hand, looked like someone had just asked him to drink a cup of newt’s goo.
- What bloody hell is this, Tonks ?? - he howled from annoyance and smashed his fists on the table. - There are NO gnomes in here!
- Most certainly there are. - Tonks replied calmly. - Take a peak at that table in the corner.
The table in the corner was taken up by Hagrid. He was quietly cooing with a small potato-like creature he had brought to the pub - apparently in secret from Rosmerta. At this very moment, he was feeding colorful Bertie Botts beans to the gnome.
- Merlin's saint underwear! - Y/N whispered reverently - It looks like Hagrid knitted a suit for him ...
And surely so, if one was to look closely, the gnome was dressed in a blue sweater and coarse-knit socks that were almost reaching the creature's thighs (if garden gnomes have thighs, of course). By some unknown coincidence, the gnome had no pants at all.
Bill looked at Tonks with the most touching expression Y/N had ever seen in his eyes.
- Can we play without the kisses?
- Hey, come on. I'm not asking you to kiss a Dementor, aren’t I? - Tonks just laughed in response.
(read here if you want Bill to kiss Ismelda)
I can't believe I'm doing this. - Bill shook his head. - I'll go out there and ask Ismelda for a kiss.
Charlie delightfully roared "Hallelujah!" and let a few green sparks out of the end of his wand. Tulip, Y/N and Tonks began to synchronously thump on the table and whisper: “Smooch! Smooch! Smooch! Smooch!”... Talbott threw his hands behind his head and settled himself more comfortably on the bench, getting ready for the spectacle.
... As a prisoner goes to be executed on a guillotine, that is how Bill Weasley was approaching Ismelda. The Slytherin gal was chatting with her fellow students at the bar.
- Check it out, it looks like she noticed him ... - Tulip started to comment on the action. - He’s telling her something ... great, they have contact! Come on, come on ....
- I almost feel sorry for him now - announced Charlie.
- Never let me forget this, ok? - Talbott smiled lazily.
Nobody else had the time to add anything because in the next second, the pub was filled with Ismelda’s shrilly wails, immediately followed by the ones of Bill. The girl, as one might expect, went absolutely berserk at Bill’s proposal and wacked him in the eye with all her mighty strength.
- Left hook! Fa-la-la…. A punch to the stomach! Fa-la-la ... And our hero returns ho-o- ome! .. - friends began chanting Bill's name merrily, with no tune or tempo whatsoever, which attracted even more attention to the oldest Weasley.
- Somebody please tell me why I became friends with a bunch of brainless doxies.. - Bill muttered under his breath as he was sitting down. He tried to say it with the most serious expression there is, but all the while his lips were quivering from a suppressed smile.
(read here if you want Bill to kiss the gnome)
- I can't believe I'm doing this. - Bill shook his head. - I choose to kiss Hagrid’s gnome.
- On the tummy! - abruptly corrected him Tonks. - Otherwise, you'll have to redo the dare!
- His tummy looks like pumice, did you know that? It’s crusty and hard and got some weird flakes falling off of it… And it smells just like my Great Aunt Tessie’s feet! - Bill exclaimed in anger.
- Stop whining! Just go already. While we sit here and enjoy ... - one could hear pure delight in Charlie’s voice as he was (for once) telling his older brother off.
Bill let out a sad sigh, got up from the table and started to make his way towards Hagrid. Apparently, the giant was not very happy to see him - the garden gnome would be considered quite a contraband for Madam Rosmerta, and she could forever ban Hagrid from The Three Broomsticks.
- Crickey, it's starting now! - excitedly squeaked Tulip.
The company stared at the show unfolding in front of them without blinking.
- Ah, it seems that the birds started chirping, can you hear? - Talbott said quietly.
- Fountains are sparkling, little hearts are flying in the air! - continued Y/N.
- Oh gosh, oh look! Oh, he’s kissing him!
As a matter of fact, it seemed like the angels themselves started crooning the moment Bill's lips softly touched the gnome’s belly button.
The friends doubled over with mirth. Tonks laughed so hard that butterbeer and snot started spewing from her nose.
But the gnome, as it occurred, did not like being distracted from his bean feast at all. The creature got even more upset as all the boundaries of his personal space were violated, and probably that’s why he suddenly growled and bit Bill’s nose. "Crunch!" - the sound echoed throughout the pub. Bill angrily yowled and burst out in obscenities. Now all the eyes in the pub were watching in his direction only.
- Yeh… What are yeh doing?! Stahp scaring the baby ... - Hagrid said gruffly and hid the gnome in his pocket. - Go back to yer’ friends, now, or he’ll start molting from stress .. And tis’ the worst, you know ...
Bill returned to their table, still rubbing his swollen nose in frustration.
- Oh, hey, Father Christmas! Did you bring us any gifts? - Charlie mused.
- I brought you a whipping, reptiloids... - Bill replied with the most serious face he could make, but his lips were quivering from a barely suppressed smile.
* * *
It was getting dark. While the group of friends was drinking and enjoying themselves at the pub, Hogsmeade was slowly being enveloped by velvet darkness. One after the other, the stars were lighting up. Here and there, windows of little shops and huts were blossoming in shades of orange. The garlands and wreaths, untouched after the holidays, were glittering with frost. Now there was cheerful music emerging from Madame Rosmerta's pub - those were the local musicians. They were playing flute, lute and tambone. One of the guests, who had a pig's snout instead of a nose, joined the musicians and started to grunt and beat on the drum. Many visitors picked up this joyous tune and began clapping and tapping to the beat - slowly at first, then faster and louder. One of the guests - a bubbly witch dressed in a lilac robe and a pointed hat - jumped from her chair, knocking over a mug of fiery whiskey, and began to dubstep dashingly with a goblin in a tweed jacket.
- Wowza, it's getting hot in here, - Bill said, wiping his beer mustache away. - Let's have the last round and head back. Talbott and Charlie, now it's your turn.
- My pleasure, - replied Talbott and drew a card.
Charlie drew a card with a higher suit.
- A perfect ending for a perfect day! As you can see, I'm a man of many talents, not only Quidditch. - Charlie boasted and gracefully ran his hand through his hair.
- Uh, yeah, except that quidditch sucks, - Talbott raised his eyebrows.
- You suck! - Charlie blurted.
- Mmm ... not as much as quidditch. - smirked Ravenclaw in response.
The young Weasley's cheeks turned so red that one could easily fry eggs on them if they wanted.
- Fine. Okay. If you do hate quidditch that much, maybe you’d care more for dancing? I dare you, Talbott Winger, to go out there and have the best time of your life on the dancefloor - yes, IN FRONT of the musicians! But of course I can’t let you suffer alone - sarcastically added Charlie. - Go ahead and invite someone to dance with you… if they agree to dance with a haircut like yours, that is.
Talbott squinted his eyes and examined Charlie’s face in disbelief.
- Uhhh ... I look cool.
- Pffft. Whatever you say. - the redhead let out a cheesy grin.
- I say I look cool. - Talbott replied calmly.
Tulip and Tonks audibly snorted.
- Now then… Who will be the lucky one to have the ultimate all-inclusive Talbott Winger experience? - asked Bill and started to tap his fingers on the table. The rest of the group picked on this beat and joined Bill, making the sound be a very accurate drum roll.
- Hmmm ... I know just who to take on this adventure. Y/N... would you like to dance with me? - asked Talbott and offered her a hand - I promise not to step on your toes more than three times.
- Oh? I thought you “fly solo”... - teased him Y/N as she was taking his hand and getting up from the table.
Talbott didn’t answer, just sighed and rolled his eyes at her.
The two entered the dance floor in an uncertain and shy manner. A new festive holiday song was just beginning. Another vocalist stepped onto the stage, bowed, and dimmed the pub lights with Nox . He then casually flicked his wand, created a few golden and silver wandering pellets of light, and then sent them floating around the pub. Soon, the music began to play, and the vocalist started singing in a heart-warming voice:
Last Christmas, I gave you my Hippogriff,
But the very next day, you gave it away...
Y/N felt that the majority of gazes were directed at her and Talbott - not at the singing wizard. What a strange feeling - to be in the spotlight. It got very hot; she felt a few sweat drops form and slide down her forehead. Talbott looked at Y/N with a weird expression on his face. He seemed to be slightly uncomfortable, too. Without changing his bewildered expression, he took Y/N's hands and placed them on his shoulders, then dropped his hands on her waist.
- Talbott ... I hope you know what you’re doing? - Y/N inquired quietly.
- What kind of question is this, of course I don’t know what I’m doing. - said Talbott with feigned confidence.
- Now I get it. You're winging it, Winger!
Both dancers burst out laughing. The tension was released. They began to move, jump and spin to the beat of the music. And even Merula's screams about how they looked like two prancing warty frogs could not spoil their mood. Maybe they weren't professionals and had no idea what they were doing, but they were having a lot of fun together.
The song ended. To Y/N’s great surprise, there was an applause from the audience! Someone from the crowd even threw them a bright, fragrant bouquet of orchids, freshly conjured from the air.
- For the record, I hate dancing. But it wasn’t all that horrible with you around. - Talbott said bashfully. - Maybe I should have gathered my courage and should have gone to the Celestial ... you know ...
Talbott and Y/N returned to the table, slightly out of breath after the dance and still holding hands. “Two brooos !! chilling at the Three Broomsticks! Five feet apart ‘cause they’re not friends!” - the others hollered and cheered and greeted the two back.
- Will you just shut up?.. - chuckled Y/N as she was letting Talbott's warm hand go.
* * *
It was time to return back to the castle. Friends were getting dressed in silence. All their wet clothes had almost dried up by the fire, and for those pieces that weren’t dry yet, they used their wands. Before leaving the pub, Y/N gave the bouquet to Madam Rosmerta. At the very exit, Trelawney's warnings came back to Y/N. It was so scary to think that on this night, according to the prophecy, she would lose a friend, and so she chased those thoughts away. As soon as the group stepped outside, contrast between the warm pub and icy cold air made them cough. Sniffing and cursing from freezing weather, they rushed towards Hogwarts down the snow-cleared path. This night was especially quiet: there was only the sound of snow creaking under their feet, and from time to time there came a bird’s distant cry.
- Bloody hell, we never bought anything, - Charlie complained in annoyance.
- Well… Let it burn, then. It will just be added to that list of four hundred things I have to do tomorrow ... or the day after ... or after.. or after .... - Tonks answered him with a loud yawn.
Friends were already approaching the doors of the castle when Talbott deliberately started to slow down. He stopped right in front of a path fork that was turning off the main road and leading to the owlery.
- Ummm... I need to send a letter to someone, - he said shyly, milling about the path. - Care to join me, Y/N?
“Hmm .. that’s a strange request, it’s practically nighttime... Something is fishy (pardon me, birdy) here.” - Y/N thought in her head, but out loud she only said:
- Uhh .. okay, sure. Let’s go.
After all, Talbott was her friend, and she had no reason to mistrust him.
The group of friends said their goodbyes and parted ways. Talbott and Y/N turned to the owlery. Tulip was waving at them a very long time after that, until their silhouettes blurred out, enclosed by the veil of snow.
Several minutes had passed since Talbott and Y/N were alone together. They were strolling down the path and talking about all sorts of things that happened during the past few days. The two of them were approaching the little towers of the Owlery rather quickly, and now only a small meadow was separating them from a brick staircase leading upstairs. In the summertime, the meadow was blooming with daisies and dandelions and was serving as a perfect playground for Puffskeins and Knarls. But now, the meadow seemed to have stopped in time: bare bushes were the only thing that was left from thick flowering plants; icy ground was tightly intertwined with fallen grass and wrapped in snowdrifts. Here and there, towered a few cedar pines, spruces, and chestnuts, but now they all were covered with white snow dust. For some reason, Talbott stopped walking towards the Owlery when they reached this meadow, and he began searching for something in his pockets. Finally, judging by the way his face lit up, he found what he was looking for. Aloof animagus beckoned Y/N closer. He was clutching something in his fist. As soon as Y/N approached, he opened his hand; there were two small luminous grains lying on his palm.
- What are these, Talbott? - said Y/N in quiet astonishment.
- These are midnight mint seeds, - he replied. - Professor Sprout gave them to me this Christmas.
- I have never heard of them…
- These are very rare. They can only be harvested once a year from underneath ash flowers. In places where you plant them, blood will never be shed again. - Talbott remarked in a lowered voice.
Y/N couldn’t stop staring at the grains. They seemed alive.
- Don't be afraid, touch them.
Y/N carefully raised her hand above the luminous grains and covered them with it.
- They’re warm! - not expecting that, Y/N let out a smile from ear to ear.
Talbott nodded. He looked straight into her eyes.
- I kept looking for an opportunity to plant them. Today seemed very special to me, and I decided to do it now. With you. If you want to.
- I ... of course I do! - Y/N’s cheeks and neck were rapidly getting covered with blush. - But aren't seeds planted in the fall?
- Not these. These should be planted in winter. They can only be planted under snow.
Y/N and Talbott knelt down and started preparing the soil for the seeds. They dug up a sufficient amount of snow, and then carefully placed glowing grains onto dead grass. They covered them with several layers of grey leaves and twigs, and then put a dense snow blanket above it all. But even through all these layers, the magic light of the seeds was shining through. Moreover, it seemed to have intensified and was now pulsating. For a brief instant, the pulsation stopped, and little blue stars began to emerge from under the snow, where the seeds were planted - similar to mini-fireworks. The stars took off and fell, crumbling and shattering into smaller pieces and dust. But the most spectacular thing that two friends were now hearing was... singing. It was a wonderful, calm and solemn melody without words. It was sung by the grains! Y/N had never heard such music before; she felt how her heart was opening up because of this melody. If someone had looked out of the Owlery window at that moment, then through the veil of a starting blizzard, they would have only distinguished a soft blue light illuminating two young faces floating above it.
The singing ceased; the blue light also faded away. Friends were silent for a minute, as if they were afraid to destroy the soothing feeling that the magical grains have produced within them. Finally, Talbott said in a hushed voice :
- You know, I didn’t actually need to send any letters. I just wanted to spend some time with you but without those dorks. So ... Thank you for being here with me.
His eyes crinkled at the corners as he was smiling softly at Y/N.
- It was my pleasure, - she answered quietly.
Talbott rose and brushed the snow off his knees. He then reached out his palms towards Y/N to help her get up, but he did not let go of them after that.
- There was something else. Care for one more dance with me?
For the second time during that evening, Y/N and Talbott were dancing together. But this time it was so much different than it was in the pub!! Instead of all the noise and din of The Three Broomsticks, soft spruce paws were playing them a silent symphony of winter. It was a melody of silence, a melody of bright joy, a melody of snowflakes and wind. This melody cannot be heard unless one would actively try to listen to it. The snow was falling inaudibly. It was cascading from the sky in large flakes, performing a couple of waltz motions with the dancers, and then laying down on the ground and sparkling merrily under their feet. These instants were filled with a sense of miracle: without any magic or magic wands.
- You know, dancing like this is so much better than having to dance while hundreds of thousands of eyes are staring at you. - Y/N noted.
- Agreed.
Gradually, without noticing it themselves, two friends stopped dancing. They were now standing across each other, looking at individual snowflakes on their faces and hair. Every now and then, several small crystals would shiver and gravitate down, but they would never reach the ground as they would melt in a cloud of frosty haze from their mouths. It was very quiet now. Soft light was being reflected from snow and onto their cheeks, flushed from the cold.
- We might freeze this way. - said Talbot, slightly smiling.
Slowly and gently, he unwound his blue and silver scarf and wrapped it around his own neck first, and then around Y/N's neck; now their heads were even closer to each other, connected by knitted threads. Y/N could see his face much more clearly now. She could see glitter in his brown eyes, his every eye lash, every mole, she could smell the herbal scent of his shampoo ... she could even feel the warmth of his breath.
- What I actually wanted to tell you, Y/N, - Talbott said softly, - is that the longer I think about it, the more it seems to me that professor Trelawney was right about her prophecy.
- H-how do you mean? - stuttered Y/N.
- You’re about to lose a friend because I don't think ... I don't think that I can stay friends with you any longer ... I want to be much more than that, - Talbott whispered and leaned over toward Y/N's lips and kissed her.
It was a light, subtle kiss, but Y/N could clearly feel the warmth gently spreading among her skin. And then, another kiss followed … and one more ... and one more.
All the while, the snow was falling - soundlessly, tirelessly, tenderly.
* * *
Much later, after going back to her dorm in the Gryffindor Tower, Y/N had been sitting on a windowsill for a very, very long time. She was looking through a window, wreathed by frost: at the icy lake, at never-ending fields, covered with silver and at the...
First snow.

A New Beginning
Part of the Black Lake Series
Pairings: Charlie Weasley x Jacob’s Sibling
Summary: Leaving Hogwarts to start a new life seems hard, but what about the beginning of that new life?
Word Count: 2, 500
Warnings: An argument between parents and children. Kinda cringy?
A/N: I never realized how inconsistent the details of some of my early stories are with some of my later stories. Probably cause I’ve written them out of order. Also, does past me know that I don’t always have to say ‘wrapped in a hug’? I also realized that I said there’d only be one, maybe two more chapters but um...it’ll be more than that. Also, this is VERY IMPORTANT, I forgot all about Barnabae but I’m way too lazy to go back and add him back in, so sorry Barnaby fans.

You took one last look at Hogwarts. It seemed so far away from the train platform. In fact, it seemed like an entirely different world. One where things weren’t as complicated, where parents didn’t get to tell you what to do, where you were free to do whatever you pleased with whoever you pleased. You turned away from the castle, trying not to dwell on the happy memories, knowing they would only make you upset.
Your friends were split up between two train compartments, but you all had your heads stuck out the windows, waving goodbye to Hagrid and several of the professors who had shown up to say goodbye. Hagrid stopped at each compartment, saying goodbye to as many students as he could. Professor Trelawney and Madam Pomfrey stood together, waving goodbye to the students and having a conversation on their predicted futures. Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall stood near the back of the platform, holding a conversation that obviously wasn’t meant to be shared with anyone but each other.
The train began to move, and the shouts got louder as the students got further. You looked over to Professor McGonagall and Dumbledore. Both of them saw you, and Dumbledore gave a stoic wave and a slight nod, while McGonagall simply shot you a look as if to say “stay out of trouble, Y/N.” You smiled back at them as if to say “thank you, and I will!”
The train picked up speed, and soon, you couldn’t see your professors anymore. You sat back down in your seat, and let out a loud sigh.
“I’m going to miss Hogwarts.” Penny said, staring wistfully out of the window.
“I think we all will,” Ben chimed in, “I mean, even though those were some of my most fearful years to date, I’ll still miss it.”
“We’re leaving so many memories behind. It feels wrong,” You said, “I mean, that’s where we all met. We broke curses there. Without the things that we did, I don’t think I’d be the person I am today.”
“Well, I guess you’ll all just have to come and visit me when I become Hogwarts’ youngest professor.” Rowan said.
Everyone in the compartment let out a slight laugh, and eagerly began talking about their own futures and plans they had to meet back at Hogwarts.
You thought about your own future. All of your friends had their own upcoming careers, and you couldn’t wait to begin your own. You knew that finding a job in Romania would be difficult, but when you found out that you could train to be a healer, something you had always wanted to do, you were ecstatic. Considering how often you had had to heal your friends after an adventure gone wrong, you were basically already a pro.
You were excited for Romania, despite any doubts you may have had. There was a life waiting for you there, one that you were ready to begin.
Tumblr media
You and your friends talked the whole way back to London. You were all excited about your futures but sad to say goodbye to Hogwarts. When you finally arrived and had to say goodbye, it was tearful, to say the least. No one wanted this to be the end of your journey together. But, there were no more curses to break, no more vaults to open. Really, there was nothing left for you or your friends to discover at Hogwarts. That was something that someone else would have to do now.
“I’ll miss you so much, Y/N.” Rowan said as they hugged you.
“I can’t believe I’m saying goodbye to my first friend from Hogwarts.” You said, hugging them back.
“It’s not goodbye. We’ll see each other again, I just know it.”
You nodded, pulling away from the hug with Rowan and moving towards Penny. She immediately pulled you into a warm hug.
“Oh, Y/N,” She said, “Good luck. Not that you need it, but just in case.”
“Thanks, Penny. I’ll take all the luck I can get,” You said, returning the hug, “And good luck with you. Although, I’m sure you also really don’t need it.”
Penny let go of the hug, wiping at her sniffling nose, “Don’t forget to write me about the wedding.”
“I won’t, I promise.” You said, feeling yourself about to cry with her, “I’ll make sure you’re one of the first I write.”
“Oh, look at me! What a mess I am!” Penny dabbed at her tears with the sleeves of her sweater, “I hate to cut the goodbyes short, but you’ll have to excuse me.”
She scampered through the crowds, waving goodbye while doing so. The rest of your friends said goodbye to each other and you couldn’t help but watch the scene. Tulip and Tonks were discussing the last prank they had pulled, giddily laughing over the many headaches it had likely caused Madam Pince. Liz and Talbott were having a conversation about the magical animal reserve they were both about to begin working on. Andre was explaining the latest fashion trends of the Wizarding World for Jae so that he would be able to update his stock while Ben, Jae and Badeea quietly listened in. Everything seemed so perfectly right that yo
“Ready to go?” Charlie asked.
“I’m not sure I want to yet,” you said, “I’m going to miss everyone so much.”
“Me too.” Charlie said, “We can stay if you want.”
You shook your head with a slight laugh, “No. We better go before I decide I never want to leave.”
Hand-in-hand with Charlie, you moved through the crowd. The station was packed full of people and you could barely move. Charlie weaved through the crowd and you followed. You weren’t sure how he could tell where he was going, but it was obvious he was moving with purpose. You could tell Charlie was moving as far from the crowd as possible, towards Molly and Arthur, who were eagerly waiting near the back of the platform.
“Charlie! Y/N!” Molly called out as you and Charlie approached them, “Oh, look at you two! I can’t believe one of my children is already getting married!”
She hugged Charlie, then gave you the same, tight hug.
“Hi, mum.” Charlie greeted her, his greeting far more quiet than Molly’s.
“Hello, Molly,” You said to her. You scanned the station, looking for someone who obviously wasn’t there, “Have you seen Jacob? He told me he’d be here.”
“He said he wanted to wait for you by the car, away from the hustle and bustle in here.” Molly explained, “Why don’t you go find him? Charlie can help me with the luggage.”
You nodded, eagerly making your way out of the crowded train station. You scanned the parking lot, looking around for Jacob. When you couldn’t find him, you began to worry. Finally, though, you saw him waiting beside the black car he had ‘borrowed’ from your parents when he had taken you to school several months ago.
“Jacob!” You exclaimed, quickly making your way towards him.
“Y/N!” He called back.
You ran towards him and he opened his arms, ready to hug you. You nearly jumped into them, it was so exciting to finally see him again.
Jacob broke the hug, holding you at arms length, “Let me look at you. I can hardly believe you’re the same person I dropped off in September!”
“It’s only been a few months! I couldn’t possibly have changed that much.” You laughed.
“But you’re so grown up now,” He said, “You’re getting married! I can’t believe it! My little sibling’s all grown up and getting married.”
You smiled, “I don’t feel grown up. I still feel like I’m just waiting another summer before I go back to Hogwarts with Charlie and all of my friends.”
“Speaking of; where is Charlie?”
“He’ll be here in a moment, I’m sure. Why? Are you afraid he’s run away before the wedding?” You said, your smirk evident in your sarcastic tone.
“We need to be quick.” He explained, “I don’t want to be here if mother and father decide to show up.”
It had been decided before that you would go and stay with Jacob for the time being. Since he had successfully disappeared from your parents, you wanted to stay with him, at least until you knew your parents hadn’t found you and stopped looking or until you could leave for Romania. As badly as you felt, you knew that staying away was the best thing you could do. Your parents were relentless in deciding your future, and you wouldn’t let them stop you. You couldn’t.
From across the lot, you could see Charlie and Arthur carrying several suitcases, Molly hot on their heels. You waved over at him and he made his way towards you, while Molly and Arthur walked towards their own car.
“Charlie, good to see you again.” Jacob said as Charlie approached the car. Jacob opened the trunk, taking some of the suitcases from Charlie, “Here, I’ve got these. Why don’t you two say your goodbyes?”
Jacob turned away from you two, pretending not to listen. Charlie leaned against the car, arms folded across his chest, “You could just come to the Burrow now. You and Jacob both could.”
“Oh, Charlie,” You giggled, putting your arms around Charlie’s neck, “Don’t be so pouty. I’ll be with you at the Burrow before you know it.”
“I’m not pouty,” Charlie said, “I just wish you could stay with me.”
“Well, once we’re in Romania, we can get married and then we’ll be together all the time.”
Charlie kissed the tip of your nose, “I can’t wait.”
You and Charlie had already talked about your wedding, and had finished most of the planning for it. It wasn’t going to be anything big, probably just a few friends and family at a small ceremony. Neither of you wanted anything more than that. You knew that Charlie probably didn’t care about anything, not even getting married, as long as he got to be with you. You couldn’t wait to become a Weasley and to get to be with Charlie forever. You were so excited for your future, the one you would get to share with Charlie.
Jacob quickly loaded the last of your luggage into the trunk of the car. Charlie kissed the tip of your nose again, causing you to giggle.
“Alright, lovebirds. Time to break it up.” Jacob said, slamming the trunk shut, “Charlie, you should get going if you want to be back at the Burrow before dark.”
Charlie sighed, “Yeah, you’re right. I’m sure my parents will want to go.” Charlie kissed you, his kiss lingering longer than usual, “I love you.”
“Don’t be so sad,” You said, with a slight laugh as you took your arms from around his neck, “We won’t be apart long. I lo-”
“Y/N!” Someone angrily shouted your name, breaking the bliss between you and Charlie, “What do you think you’re doing?”
“Mother. Father.” Jacob coldly greeted your parents.
“Jacob.” Your mother returned the cold greeting. She looked all three of you up and down, “Must I repeat myself? What do you think you’re doing?”
“I’m going with Jacob.” You said.
“No, you’re not. You’re coming with us. Do you not remember what we said in our letter? A marriage to a Weasley hardly acceptable.” Your mother scoffed, shooting Charlie a quick but disapproving look.
“It’s not your future to decide, mother.” Jacob said, his voice stern and annoyed.
“Don’t interrupt, Jacob.” Your father snapped.
Your mother took your hands, her tone becoming soft and quiet, like you were a kid and she was trying to make you feel better after falling off your broom, “We’re only trying to think of your future, Y/N. Marrying such a boy will only ruin it.”
“Stop this, mum,” You said, yanking your hands away, “I’m not listening to you anymore. Jacob’s right. It’s not your future to decide.”
“All this brainwashing from Jacob.” Your father scoffed, “Is that how you want to live your life? Listening to him and following what he does?"
“Y/N doesn’t need to listen to anyone.” Charlie said.
“You’re hardly allowed to have an opinion in our child’s life,” Your mother sneered, “You’re just as bad as him.”
“That’s not fair, mother.” Jacob said.
Everyone’s voices got louder as they began to talk over each other. You felt like you wanted to crawl into a hole and never come out. Your head felt like it was about to explode.
Everyone was arguing over you. Your future. Your decisions. This was what you should’ve been in charge of, not all of the people arguing. You knew who you wanted to listen to, but their voices were quiet in the chaos. This wasn’t anything for others to argue about, it was your voice that should’ve been heard over all of the others.
“Stop! Stop!” You yelled. Even though you thought that your words would be lost in the shuffle, they actually heard you. Everyone turned to you and you suddenly felt more flustered, “You all need to stop! It’s my future, and no one else will decide that for me! Mother, father. No matter what I do, you won’t get in my way, as much as you protest. I’m not like Jacob, and I’m not simply some silly brainwashed girl who’s blindly following him! I’m my own person, and until you start treating me like I am, then I don’t think I want you to be a part of my life.”
Your mother looked at you with such an intense look of disapproval and anger that you thought you’d melt under her stare, “If that’s how you feel, Y/N, then I suppose we’ll just stay out of your perfect little life.” She said through clenched teeth, “But don’t expect it to last forever.”
Your mother turned away, nodding to your father. They angrily walked away, leaving you, Jacob and Charlie in shock at what had happened.
“Come on, Y/N, let’s go.” Jacob said, sliding into the car and slamming the door.
You turned to Charlie, “I could’ve handled that, you know.” You said, your voice somewhat teasing.
“I’ve always told you that no matter how much you can handle yourself, sometimes you need a little help.” Charlie said, placing a kiss on your lips.
Jacob leaned over, rolling down the window, “Y/N,” His voice was stern, “Let’s go.”
“I’d better listen to him.” You said, opening the car door and getting in.
Charlie took a few steps backwards, not taking his eyes off of you, “I love you, Y/N.” He called out.
“I love you, too, Charlie.” You said, waving as the car began to lift off the ground.
The car flew far over King’s Cross. If even just barely, you could swear that you could see your parents far down below, watching you take off. You knew that it was far from the last time you would hear from them.

A/N: Ok, ok, I know it’s been a long time since I’ve posted, but I promise I’ll try some consistency for once. Also, I know that this is probably the weakest of the series, but it’s definitely more to transition us to actually being in Romania. Not to mention, it’s been a while since I’ve written anything like this and I’m pretty rusty.

Behind Schedule
A/N: this isn’t what i expected when i started writing Talbott/MC/Charlie but i thought ‘meh boys fighting over one girl is so old school and a trope overused but still good when cooked right.’ but still. so i thought i might sprinkle in a few fluff and slow-burn with a dash of oblivious!mc cause why not. bon appétit.
How could she not possibly noticed the time? She should be in the library four hours ago, oh if only Tonks would stop her pranks (despite her knowing this was impossible, she wished anyway.). It didn’t help that Tulip was cheering her on as she dropped glue all over Charlie and Jae and then proceeded to dump feathers at them.
This started a chase with two girls laughing as they run while two boys leaving trails of feather ran after them, wands out, and casting a few jinxes their way. It was only in good fun until (Y/N) got hit with one of Charlie’s malicious spells directed at Tonks and Tulip’s way.
She was with Rowan who was obviously complaining about Ben’s odd behavior when she was cut midsentence because of the bucket full of cold water appearing on top of her head and drenching her in the process.
In the middle of January.
Rowan shouted in surprise and the four students, alarmed, stopped. Guilt drowned Charlie and started to fuss over her, apologizing as he took off his sticky feather-filled robe and draped over her shivering form.
“Oh merlin, we have to get her some new clothes and-”
Too late, McGonagall was already approaching them with this look on her face that if (Y/N) wasn’t cold to the point she was numb she would have felt shivers down her spine.
Charlie, Jae, Tonks, and Tulip were sent to detention while Professor McGonagall and Rowan escorted her to the Hospital Wing after the Gryffindor professor had cast a warming spell.
She hadn’t noticed the time until she can leave. (Y/N) who was good as new was finally settling down from the accident before she got hit with the memory of her promising Talbott to meet him in the library.
(Y/N) reached the library with ease since there were only a few students out and about. She thanked Madam Pomfrey silently for letting her out on a free period.
Despite having doubts that Talbott was still inside, she entered the library making sure not to be noticed by one of the strictest librarian known to wizardkind. Before she gets scolded for breathing (Y/N) noticed Talbott sitting alone, holding a book in his hand, looking slightly distracted and irritated.
She took a deep breath, rehearsed her apologies, and readied her explanation before nearing the teen with hands behind her back looking sheepish.
“Heyyy Talbott...” (Y/N) said lamely, she cursed herself for not thinking of, at least, a proper greeting. Maybe ‘Salutations, Monseuir Talbott.’ would have been more appropriate.
Talbott turned his head with creased brows and (Y/N) bit her lip in worry.
Maybe not...
Talbott closed the book and she started stuttering out her explanation.
“L-Listen, I’m so sorry. I didn’t- I wasn’t paying attention, then I was jinxed a-and I got drenched with cold water, Rowan was there and so is Tonks, Jae, Tulip, and Charlie, then-”
The boy stood up and held up his hand to silence her and she bit her lip again, nervous. “I know.” Talbott sighed out, clearly tired and a little resigned. “I asked Rowan when we were both in Transfiguration.”
“Oh, I thought you skipped class and waited for me... I felt kinda bad.”
“Don’t get too ahead of yourself (L/N), rest assured I’ll put my education first before you.” He deadpanned. (Y/N) blushed in embarrassment, fiddling with her fingers behind her back.
Talbott’s expression softened before sighing. “I apologize, I didn’t mean to be so- there has been a lot in my mind lately. It’s becoming quite tiring. I-”
(Y/N) was caught by surprise that her wide eyes met maroon ones and Talbott flinched with the sudden eye contact that he looked away quickly, lips pressed together in a thin line.
Confused, she waited in awkward silence until Talbott straightened his back and regained composure before meeting her eyes again. “I’m glad you’re doing better after the incident.”
(Y/N) lit up at the mention of her fast recovery, “Yes, well, you can thank Madam Pomfrey for that one. She is, no doubt, an extraordinary witch.”
“What else could she possibly be? Professor Dumbledore wouldn’t have hired her in the first pla-” Catching himself this time, he closed his mouth before finishing the sentence.
(Y/N) now looked at Talbott with a mixture of worry and confusion written on her face. “Talbott, is there something wrong?”
“I’m sorry, I- I don’t feel very well. Please excuse me.”
Before she could say anything else, Talbott went pass her, book still in hand as he went out of the library. Still a little bit befuddled she stood rooted to her spot wondering what was that about.
Entering the Dining Hall with Rowan, Diego, Andre, and Badeea, were all chatting animatedly before reaching their own respective seats. Dinner was quite a party, each member of her own little gang bombarded her with questions laced with concern that made her heart full as she stuffed herself with chicken.
“(Y/N), I truly am sorry.” Charlie with sad eyes and voice laced with guilt told her for the umpteenth time. “I really wasn’t being careful and you got hurt, and-” With a smile, she held up a finger.
“Oh stop worrying Charlie, I’m not made of glass. It was just a bucket of cold water, I faced much more dangerous creatures, dark wizards, and werewolves for merlin’s sake! It’s alright.”
Charlie who still wasn’t convinced, frowned and (Y/N) tried her best not to roll her eyes good-naturedly. “Besides, I think Professor McGonagall giving you detention is far worse than being soaked.”
“Still...” And it was soft, sincere, and sorry. She didn’t know why he was pressing such a small mistake. It was like he did something so horrible that he couldn’t get back from.
Placing a hand behind Charlie’s back, she gave him her best reassuring smile and for a moment time stood still. The warm glow of the candles above gave an ambiance in the room that seems to just fit their current situation.
(Y/N) didn’t know how Charlie’s eyes became so.... cyan.
Sharp laughter from the Dining Hall snapped them back to reality and (Y/N) dropped her hand and Charlie looked away, a little flustered while she contemplates.
After the Library and Dining Hall incident a few weeks later, she had lain in bed thinking of a few things. Firstly, she never knew what Talbott wanted from her and second, what was that all about with Charlie. It was all so... confusing. Not one made any sense.
Why Talbott was acting so differently and why Charlie suddenly felt like it was okay to avoid her every chance he gets. (Y/N) thought she might have done something to set them off but looking back, she couldn’t think of anything.
Other than pestering Talbott on becoming her friend, and Charlie isn’t a person easily offended. (Both of them really. However, her bird friend is a tad bit sensitive when it comes to his beliefs and opinions.)
Talbott, she thought, is quite frank. It almost got him in trouble once with Professor Snape and one of the Hufflepuff students. She never asked for details but it was quite a big argument that almost resulted in first flying if Professor Sprout didn’t intervene. (Y/N) didn’t know him yet at the time, still a little preoccupied in finding Jacob.
So, she didn’t know why Talbott is suddenly so secretive. She was used to him being blunt. Never once did he left her wondering about his intentions so it was an alarming change.
Charlie was different, however, he can be quite confrontational but not to a point where he would start a fight. Not as hot-headed and not the kind person to explode when backed to a corner. Gryffindor, a house filled with boiling water, has a few members that simmer.
And Charlie was one of the few that simmer, so when he started avoiding her, she was taken aback and hurt. Despite this, she approached him and asked if there was a problem but the only response he gave was an excuse and a red face
Arrgh! How frustrating! She huffed and shifted to her side, closing her eyes,  despite knowing that sleep was too far away for her to grasp.
(Y/N) was alone this time as she walked around the Forest. The sun high up telling her that it was one in the afternoon. This place doesn’t look so bad in the day, it was even close to being peaceful before a twig snapped behind her.
Alarmed and so used to being attacked, turned around with her wand out and threw a hex where the sound came from.
Talbott, surprised, dodged with grace. The hex hitting the ground with a bang, and (Y/N) suddenly realized what she had done.
“Talbott! I’m so sorry, I thought you were someone else!”
“Thankfully I’m not.” He said with that flat voice she was used to hearing. “I saw you walking down here, and since I’m a Prefect it’s my job to tell you this is a bad idea.”
“I-”
“Especially when it’s related to cursed vaults.” He added with a bite and she cringed suddenly remembering rumors regarding the Forbidden Forest.
“Sorry, I just want some fresh air.” Talbott lifted a brow and she sighed. “Hogsmeade is too much of a crowded place to think.”
“It’s dangerous but I understand. People can sometimes be overwhelming.” He looked straight ahead and walked and (Y/N) took this as a chance to keep going.
They walked in silence, the wind was cold but they were warmed under the light of the sun and there’s no perfect weather for a walk than today.
When Talbott suddenly stopped and started lifting a hand in front of him to stroke the air, (Y/N) was left confused. What is he doing?
Talbott aware of her stare gave one answer. “Thestrals.”
She said nothing more. (Y/N) only looked at the empty space, looking solemn.
Talbott sighed again, tired of thinking that sighing was becoming a habit these days. He stopped petting the thestral, who huffed, to face (Y/N) with an expression she couldn’t read.
“Do you want to try?”
(Y/N)’s eyes thought about it before nodding, giving Talbott a small smile before walking towards him, hesitant that she might accidentally offend or bump the creature she couldn’t see.
To her surprise, Talbott held out his hand, a silent offering to guide her and she took it. He gently held her hand until they stopped in the middle of the space and she heard the hooves, a couple of neighs, and the flapping of wings.
(Y/N) was nervous but she trusts Talbott. He was a good person despite what the others see him as. Even him, she thought sadly. She appreciates his honesty, a cool glass water in a field of sugar-coated lies.
Talbott moved his hand to her wrist and lifted it up. Suddenly she felt something solid in the air and figured that it was the thestral’s head.
“This one is old, he’s been pushing carriages for a long time.” He said as he removed his hand from her wrist. “He’s tired.”
(Y/N) felt the breath of the horse on her face as she repeated the same stroking motion. “Thank you.” She muttered towards the horse and knowingly towards her bird friend.
“I stand by to what I said about the Forbidden Forest. I have a bad feeling about this place and you shouldn’t just come in and come out even if it’s in the middle of the day.”
(Y/N) was silent, a little sad and it showed but took it as a serious matter really needed to be addressed. “But...” He trailed off and she turned her head to look at him.
He wasn’t staring at her but on the ground with hands in his pockets, looking somewhat shy.
“But I also said that I understand the need of being away from people. So if you want-”
(Y/N) waited. She didn’t know what she was waiting for but she did anyway.
“Then ask someone to accompany you. Maybe Hagrid, he knows his way best around here. Don’t be stupid and don’t go alone. Merlin forbid you heed my warning.”
Feeling cheeky so suddenly, she grinned. “You know me too well Talbott, someone might think of us as friends.”
“We aren’t friends!”
Charlie sat on the fountain in the Courtyard, his leather bookcase with him as sketched one of his latest fascinations in a worn out sketchbook. A little too distracted to see (Y/N) approaching, hands holding a box behind her back.
“Hey, Charlie...”
Like a doe startled in the woods, Charlie jumped. It took seconds for him to close his sketchbook and shove it in his bookcase. (Y/N) felt like she walked in on something private and she sheepishly looked down.
“Hey... (Y/N). Do you need anything?” That was the first non-excuse he said to her in weeks and she could have instantly burst into tears if she didn’t hold it back.
“Actually no, I’m here to give you something.”
Charlie confused and a little curious waited and (Y/N) put the box into view. “What for?”
“It’s to make it up to you. For whatever I did.” She rubbed the back of her neck feeling foolish, she felt like she’s buying Charlie’s forgiveness and she wished that he doesn’t see it that way.
Unbeknownst to (Y/N), Charlie thought very far from it. Guilt took over the boy again and he lowered his head in shame as he looked down at the box in his hand. It was a small maroon box wrapped with a golden ribbon that was slightly crooked and uneven.
It was so childish of him to avoid (Y/N) all of a sudden. Feeling undeserving of the gift and (Y/N)’s friendship.
“I- You did nothing wrong (Y/N), I swear. It’s just me...”
Oh for a second there she thought that he might not have liked the gift she gave him. But with Charlie’s admission got her wondering what it was that pushed Charlie away, if it wasn’t her then what?
Still, she wanted to give her support in whatever it was and guilt ate Charlie up more than usual.
“It’s okay Charlie-”
“No! It’s not! You didn’t deserve that, I was just being a twat. I just have a lot on my mind...”
(Y/N) thought that she heard that before but can’t remember when.
“Yeah, you kinda were.” And Charlie felt like tearing himself into pieces then and there and be swept by the wind when he felt (Y/N) mess up his red hair. “But you’re my twat. It takes a lot more than ignoring me to keep me away.”
“I can see that.” He chuckled.
“Then stop sulking and open the box already.”
Heart a little lighter and freckled filled cheeks flushed, Charlie pulled the ribbon loose and opened the lid of the box to find a small silver dragon pin attached to a black cushion. It had two small rubies where its eyes are and he couldn’t help but gasp.
“Melin (Y/N), where did you get this? This amazing!” A smile bloomed on his handsome face and (Y/N) couldn’t help but grin with pride.
“I’m glad you like it.”
Charlie, despite the gift and the air cleared, he still couldn’t get rid of the remaining self-accusation. Instead of wallowing in it, he pushed it aside and decided to make it up to (Y/N).
“Hey, (Y/N)?”
“Yeah Charlie?”
“Let’s grab a few sweets at Honeydukes. My treat.”
And (Y/N) couldn’t stop smiling.
Everything went well than expected. Charlie was talking to her again and Talbott went back to his blunt self and everyone settled down in their own normal routine.
Normal routine meaning: Finding out who R is, figuring where Jacob went or if he’s working for R, helping Professor Rakepick, and breaking cursed vaults.
So it was really a packed year filled with surprises. The Yule Ball was coming up and it became to most talked about topic at Hogwarts and even among her friends. She was as excited to see what it was and what the event will bring her.
In celebration for the coming ball, Jae had invited everyone at Hogsmeade. A group activity that escalated into tradition. They laughed, and joked, and shared stories that got Tonks laughing so hard she got butterbeer coming out of her nose which resulted in more laughter.
As she talked to Penny and Andre about her dress there was two boys sitting across from her, a tad bit stiff and uncomfortable.
“So,” Charlie said, hesitant before continuing, “Are you... gonna attend the ball?”
Talbott’s expression changed with distaste at the thought. “Sadly, I have to. It’s inconvenient when you have other important things to do.”
Charlie grabbed his glass and drank for a moment to think. “Who do you plan on going with?” He asked, feeling a little short since the Yule Ball’s date was announced.
Talbott observed Charlie, not missing the boy’s irritation buried deep behind his soft features. “I haven’t thought about it.” Clipped and short, revealing less than what Charlie would have liked. He wants to keep it that way. “You?”
“I have one in mind but I haven’t asked her yet.” Charlie was now aware of how heavy his glass is and placed it back down on the wooden table.
“I wish you the best of luck.”
“You too.”

Terribly sorry i couldnt pick just one, but either Chester or Felix with either The joker and the Queen or Unholy (sorry, I really tried to pick one but i couldnt! You can pick either one or maybe both, but thats totally up to you!)
THE JOKER AND THE QUEEN.
Starring: Chester Davies x f!reader
Warnings: none, just fluff. + mention to y/n father’s being a death eater.
Plot: you were a popular pureblood witch and, as a member of the exclusive club of wizards, you were most likely going to share your heart with a fellow pureblood. That was what everybody expected from you, at least. Nevertheless, you chose Chester Davies. Years later, you still do not regret your choice.
REQUESTED BY: @moonprincess101
VALENTINE’S DAY EVENT: “THE JOKER AND THE QUEEN”.
Quote: “And I know you could fall for a thousand kings And hearts that could give you a diamond ring When I fold, you see the best in me The joker and the queen”.
﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏
The moment your eyes locked for the first time ever, he knew you were the center of his world. Whenever you were around, he felt as if he was floating up above, gravity long forgotten, nonexistent. Your smile was dazzling and your voice melodic. You were truly a delicacy, an uptown girl far from his league, but he could not help himself and adored you.
“She’s a pureblood” one of his friends said, chugging down hos butterbeer, as he glanced at you in disdain.
He did not retort anything. He was too lost into contemplating the flawless girl that you were.
You were animatedly chatting with your friends, the superior and arrogant wizards whose reputation preceded them. They were right about your blood-status, but they were wrong about your personality. You were nothing like them and you loathed attending the balls and dinners your parents dragged you to. You felt like a spider in a cage and he knew it.
How? Well, you had told him everything about yourself.
It took nearly six months for Chester to approach you. You were not intimidating, but you were always the center of everyone’s attention. You incarnated everything that his friends despised, but all that he wanted. He saw the goodness in you, he saw your beauty and your cracks and, when he bashfully asked you if he could sit next to you in potions class, you blessed him with a bright smile he could not shake from his head.
“If we teamed up, we could easily win Piton’s competition…” you uttered under your breath, taking him off guard.
You were talking to him. You had asked him to work together. Was he dreaming?
“Are… Are you a-actually asking me to work with you?” he stammered, his glabrous face heating up to the point that the tips of his ears matched the Gryffindors’s uniforms.
You giggled and nodded your head at him “Do you see anyone else worthy of my attention at this table?” you softly asked, grabbing your book and dragging your stool closer to his one.
Oh, dear, the world stopped revolving for him.
Chester Davies had fallen badly for you and, when you asked him to study together in the afternoon, he had no trouble in trying his best to impress you. He could not let you slip from his fingers, else he would have never forgiven himself. Could he label you two as friends now? Well, acquaintances, at best. Yet, you were not strangers anymore.
It took it two months for you to open up to him. Soon enough, you ended up spending your whole days together. You told him everything about yourself. Apparently, the dark side of being a pureblood, your duties and the audacity your father had in writing you some letters in which he asked you to find another member of the upper class to ‘arrange a good, business marriage’ were doing numbers on you.
You did not want that. You were willing to be disowned rather than marrying someone you did not love.
“I will not surrender. – you commented one day, propping your chin on the back of your hand as you laid flat on your stomach in the fluffy, soft grass of Hagrid’s garden – I want to get married one day, of course I do… But I can’t bear the idea of spending my life with someone I don’t love. I want it to be different” you said, batting your eyes close and sighing contently, under the spring breeze.
Chester quirked a thick eyebrow up, his brown eyes staring up at the clear sky “What is it that you want?”.
“A man who loves me” you replied without hesitation.
“Pure-bloods can love too”.
You sighed, rolling down on your back to stare properly up at him “No, Chester, you’re wrong. – you mumbled – They love your last name, at best. They love your money and your position at the Ministry. But they never love you”.
He blushed, his eyes darting on the massive pumpkins in front of him. Was it the right time to say something more? Maybe dropping some other hints would have not been detrimental to your relationship. However, you took him off guard.
“They’re not like you” you stated, propping yourself up on your elbows.
“W-What?” he stammered, swallowing the sudden lump in his throat. You were going to kill him sooner or later.
You sat up, your cheeks now tinted in a bright pink shade and he could not tell if it was caused by the sun, or your proximity. Then again, when you curled yourself up in a ball and propped your chin on your knees, the gleam in your eyes was unmistakably, unequivocally the same he had when he looked at you.
“I like you… And not in a way a friend should love her friend. It’s something more. The way you make me laugh with that goofy smile of yours, whenever you talk about something you like, or the way I feel my heart drop into my stomach, if a girl is too close to you, have made realise that maybe I cannot find my perfect match out there because he is right under my nose…” you whispered, your cheeks burning even more.
Could you get a fever out of embarrassment for confessing to your crush? Yeah, you would not have been surprised, if you did.
Chester stared out at you in disbelief, his hand grasping your immediately as he shifted ti get even closer to you. You bit down on your lower lip, heart thrumming against your ribcage as you waited for him to reply something with the same anxiety of a guilty man waiting for his verdict.
“You could have literally fallen for one of the rich brats in your gang… They have everything, I have nothing to offer you beside my heart, Y/N. Are you sure about it?” he mumbled, locking his calloused fingers with yours. Your hand was so tiny compared to his one.
You felt tears well up in your eyes as you slowly nodded your head at him “Your love is everything I need. I don’t care about anything else. – you whispered softly, a small smile curling your lips – If I get to have you from now to the rest of our lives, I’ll feel like the luckiest person alive” you said, pressing your forehead against his one.
Chester chuckled, his free hand cupping your cheek affectionately. You, the smart, pureblood witch every student envied and craved for themselves, had finally picked your life companion. You had shared your golden heart, but with a half-blood, common Ravenaw student.
You had chosen him.
“You really are an unconventional, strong-willed crazy witch… – he said, a smug smile tugging the angles of his lips upwards – You beated me on it, I can’t believe it. But, yeah, for your information, I love you”.
You giggled, a sigh of relief leaving your mouth, as you smashed your lips against his chapped ones and pulled him down onto the grass with you.
Who would have thought that, five years after your graduation, he asked for your hand. Your father was mad at you for months. He never accepted your relationship, but the incoming war and the rumors running among the elite families about HIS return got him thinking. He knew that he would have been called too and he could not risk your life.
He gave his consent with the promise that you were both going to stay away from the battlefield and, if things got complicated, to never return again.
You did and now Chester kisses the small bump in your stomach, with the joy of a child blessing your lives, he knows that being a joker around a queen was the best decision he could have ever made.
AUTHOT NOTE.
Hi there!
I’m back at writing, thanks to god! I’ll take good care of your sweet requests in my inbox! I hope you liked this fluffy scenario. Chester is my baby and comfort character. Too bad I am a Slytherin and I could not lose house point to piss him off lmao xD
Next to come “Unholy + Felix Rosier” (smut, duh) 😏

Words: 2.6k
_________________________________________________
It sometimes was hard to keep up with Tulip. You liked being around her, but something about her made you wondering. Was she really honest with you? Did she really trust you or did she just pretend to trust you? You knew Tulip has some trust issues. It didn’t help when Merula kept commenting about Tulip.
“You know she will betray you eventually, right?”
You didn’t want to believe Merula, but when Tulip began saying less about what she was doing to help out, you couldn’t help it, but to feel suspicious about her. You wanted to trust Tulip, you really did. You just wanted Tulip to be more open about what she was doing.
You often didn’t know where to find Tulip when she didn’t ask you to come and meet her sometimes. She might have been in Jacob’s study room, but besides that place you didn’t know where to find her.  She could be everywhere.
“Hey Y/L/N.”
You turned around to see Merula standing there with a smirk on her face.
“What do you want, Snyde?” You asked, rolling your eyes a bit. Whatever she wanted, it couldn’t be good.
“I was just wondering if you were still hanging out with Karasu.”
“Why does that matter to you?”
“Because she can’t be trusted, that’s why.”
“Don’t you have anything better to do, Snyde? It’s like you want to remind me what happened to you back then almost every week. And just because she betrayed you doesn’t mean she will betray me.”
Merula shot you a glare. “You know she will do the same to you eventually.” She hissed. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you when it happens.” She said before she walked off again.
Really, didn’t Merula have anything better to do than telling you this over and over again? Although, whatever she was trying to do, you couldn’t help it but to wonder if Merula was right.
There was nothing you could do to stop thinking that way now. It was like you were beginning to fully believe Merula at this point, which was insane. You didn’t want to distrust Tulip. You wanted to trust her. She’s your friend, not the enemy!
Perhaps you also lacked the ability to trust people, just like Tulip. Mostly because people looked down on you because of your brother. Maybe you were the problem here, not Tulip. You bit your lip slightly, thinking about the possibilities why you began thinking Tulip might betray you.
Your thoughts were interrupted when you heard someone calling your name.
Tonks was standing there with a grin on her face. “Wotcher, Y/N.” She greeted.
“Hey Tonks.” You greeted back giving her a small smile. “What’s up?”
“Well, I saw you looking quite serious over there and I wondered what was going on.” She admitted. “I mean, I have seen that face quite sometimes now. I know it often means something isn’t going all right.”
“Oh…” Your face had given things away. Perhaps you should work on that.
“So, are you going to tell me what is going on?”
You weren’t sure what to tell her. You knew Tulip and Tonks had become great friends over the years. They often pulled pranks on others together.
“Come on, Y/N. It’s not like you have to tell a professor about it or anything.” She said, looking a bit concerned now.
“Don’t worry about it, Tonks.” You said, trying to make it seem like it was nothing to worry about. “Just the usual stuff, you know the Cursed Vaults and Merula annoying me.”
Tonks gave you a look, showing you she didn’t buy your story at all. “Sure, but how about you tell your good friend Tonks the truth.”
You sighed and then you looked slightly away. “I was just thinking about Tulip.”
“Tulip?” She asked surprised. “Why were you thinking about her?”
“This probably sounds mad, but Merula keep telling me Tulip is going to betray me eventually and I can’t help it but to think….”
“You think she will betray you?” She said. “That’s crazy! She won’t do that to you.” She said and then she gave you an apologetic smile. “Sorry, I know you don’t like it when people call you crazy or mad… But you have got to understand Tulip has got your back here. She won’t do anything to betray you.”
“I know, I know… I don’t know why I let Merula’s words get to me like this…”
“Well… Has Tulip been acting different around you?”
“Huh? What do you mean?”
“Well, did she give you any signs why you might think she might betray you?”
That was a good question. Did Tulip give you signs why you couldn’t trust her?
“I don’t think so… Maybe just the fact I never know where to find her except when she sends me a message to meet up… She does know where to find me though…”
“Hm… I guess Tulip can be pretty secretive at times… But I promise you she doesn’t mean any harm.”
You raised an eyebrow at Tonks. That last statement of hers is kind of suspicious. “Tonks, what do you mean she doesn’t mean any harm?” You began. “What do you know about this?”
She grinned awkwardly and then she held up her hands. “Nothing.” She said. “Forget that last part. Just believe me when I say you can trust Tulip.”
Before you could confront Tonks about it, Tulip showed up and gave Tonks a look.
“Hey Tonks, can I have a word with you?” Tulip asked and then she gave you a smile.
Tonks nodded and then she gave you a grin. “I talk to you later, Y/N.”
“See you later, Y/N Y/L/N.” Tulip said before she basically pulled Tonks along with her. What was going on?
You looked towards the direction they went to. You hesitated, wondering if you should follow them or not. Now, not only Tulip was suspicious, but Tonks was also suspicious. Tonks knew something and you wanted to know what.
“Tonks, you almost told them about it!” Tulip said, frowning.
“I know, I know! But what was I suppose to do? They are getting suspicious, Tulip! I had to tell them you could still be trusted.” Tonks explained. “I understand you are planning something for them, but if they are suspicious…”
“I know! Fuck… I don’t want them to think they can’t trust me. That’s the opposite of what I want.”
“Then do something about it! Apparently Merula keeps saying to them you are going to betray them eventually.”
Tulip gritted her teeth a bit. “Of course, Merula would keep saying such things. I bet she figured out my plan…”
“Can’t you execute the plan now?”
“Now? No, no! I want to make it special. I still have to wait for a little while.”
“You want to wait for a full moon, right? So, next week?”
“That’s right. A full moon can pretty romantic, don’t you think so?”
“It depends, it could also be scary to some people... Especially people who fear werewolves.”
“Luckily, I know Y/N’s boggart isn’t a werewolf.” Tulip said, rolling her eyes a bit.
“Well, you wanted to hear my opinion.” Tonks shrugged.
“In my opinion, your little plan is stupid and will be pointless in the end.”
Tulip and Tonks turned around to see Merula standing there with a smirk on her face.
“What do you want, Snyde?” Tulip muttered.
“No warm welcome, Karasu? I thought I would visit you to see how my old pall is doing.” Merula said simply.
“Just tell us what you want, Merula.” Tonks said, crossing her arms.
“Oh, don’t worry Tonks, I don’t want anything from you. This is between Karasu and me.” Merula said seriously.
“Tonks, I will deal with her. Just go.” Tulip said to Tonks before she glared at Merula.
Tonks sighed and then she narrowed her eyes at Merula. “I will keep my eye on you…” She said before she walked away.
Merula rolled her eyes. “Whatever.”
Once Tulip and Merula were alone the two kept looking at each other.
“What do you want from me, Snyde?” Tulip asked.
“I don’t want anything from you, after all I won’t know if I will truly get what I want from someone as trustworthy as you.”
“Why don’t you just let go off what happened in the past? Besides, you are definitely not the most trustworthy person either.”
“At least I didn’t betray someone who I considered to be my friend.”
“Well, maybe you shouldn’t use your friends for your dirty work, pall.” Tulip glared at Merula. “You let us do the dirty work so you will not be caught. I bet you let do Ismelda do most of your work now. You don’t have me anymore to figure stuff out for you and you don’t have Barnaby to do all your other work.”
“Shut up! You will be always be a traitor, Karasu. That’s not something to be proud of.”
“Anyways, I didn’t come here to argue with you. I came to tell you I know all about your little crush on my least favourite Curse-Breaker.” Merula said with a smirk.
“Let me guess, you want to put an end to that by ruining my plans?” Tulip said, not impressed.
“Basically, yes. I think it is working pretty well so far. I mean, they are slowly starting to doubt your loyalty.”
“Because you are messing with them and keep telling them about how I will betray them?”
“Oh, that’s just the beginning. I will give them more reasons, Karasu.” Merula said before she walked off.
Whatever Merula was planning, Tulip knew she would have to prevent it from happening…
You were surprised when Tulip seemed to come over to you more often. It was like she wanted to spend more time with you. Although, you thought it was a little suspicious she kept looking around her, like she needed to look behind her all the time. Something was odd, but you couldn’t put your finger on it.
Of course, when you were alone Merula would come over to you to bother you.
You tried to ignore her. She only seemed to be going away when Tulip was there. Something was going on between those two, but you didn’t know what.
“Hey Y/L/N… I bet you are feeling better, seeing Karasu is spending more time with you.” Merula began. “Although, this is all a part of her plan, you know? She did the same thing to me before she betrayed me.”
“Don’t you have anything better to do, Merula? You have been saying this way too often.” You muttered.
“I get it. You are in denial. I mean, I was too when I found out Karasu was going to betray me.” Merula began, smirking lightly. “You know, I really saw her like a best friend. We got along pretty well. She wanted to rebel against her parents and she respected the way I have been growing up, being able to basically everything I want without my parents around. We bonded over those little things.”
You raised an eyebrow. Merula used to see Tulip as one of her best friends? You knew they were friends, but you never imagined them to be so close.
“Anyways… When I became suspicious, she suddenly began spending more time with me, like she knew I was suspicious. She even tried to convince Ismelda she was still at my side. But not too long after that she suddenly ditched me like I was nothing. She kept that key to herself and tried to ignore me, like our friendship never existed.”
You bit your lip slightly. It sounded really similar to your own situation now.
“Once she gets what she wants, she will be gone. Trust me on this one, Y/L/N.” She whispered. “Tulip Karasu is a traitor.”
  “I’m not a traitor.”
You turned around to see Tulip standing there, glaring at Merula.
Merula rolled her eyes at Tulip and smirked. “Oh? Then how would you call someone who is a backstabber?”
“I know what I did to you was not right, but what you were doing back then wasn’t right either. You were using everyone who was close to you.” Tulip said seriously. “And stop telling Y/N lies. You know the truth and try to ruin it for me.”
“Lies? What are you talking about?” Merula said, trying to act innocent.
Tulip rolled her eyes and then she grabbed your hand. “Y/N, could you please come with me?”
“Do you really think that is such a good idea, Y/L/N?” Merula said, giving you a look.
“Will you just shut up, Merula!” Tulip hissed and then she looked at you, giving you almost a pleading look.
You sighed and then you nodded to Tulip.
“You are making a big mistake, Y/L/N.” Merula said when you and Tulip walked away from her.
Tulip was still holding your hand and you could tell she wasn’t going to let go of your hand any time soon.
The full moon seemed to be even more bright than usual when Tulip had led you all the way to the Black Lake. It really looked beautiful out there. The water seemed to reflect the moonlight, making the Black Lake look even more interesting than normal.
You looked at Tulip, wondering why she brought you all the way here.
“Y/N Y/L/N, I know I have been acting really secretive lately and I probably have made you wonder why.” Tulip began, looking into your eyes. “The truth is, I wanted to bring you here at the right moment. That moment is now.”
You raised an eyebrow. “Why?”
“Because the full moon.” She began. “The full moon has an effect on people. It could affect people’s emotions, at least that is what they say.”
“Well… I know the full moon could affect people… But what has it to do with this?”
“I thought you would appreciate the deeper meaning of this meeting and why I have planned this.”
“That still doesn’t explain why you have planned this.”
Tulip grinned. “I know.” She said when she took a step closer.
“Y/N Y/L/N, why do you think I have taken you here at this time?” Tulip asked, gently squeezing your hand.
You blinked a bit, wondering what she was doing. You couldn’t help it but to blush. The touch of her hand was nice… “Because you want to show me something?”
“Sort of…” She said with chuckle. “Keep guessing.”
“You want to show me a prank you have been preparing?” You asked. “Wait… You are not pulling prank on me with Tonks, are you? Is that the reason Tonks seemed to know about it?”
“No, no! No pranks tonight.” Tulip promised, although she looked pretty amused when you thought she would pull a prank on you. “Also, Tonks is not here if you were wondering that. Although, I admit she knows what I have been planning.”
“Okay, so no pranks and no Tonks…” You mumbled, wondering what else could be up. “Damn… You sure like things to be cryptic, Tulip…”
“It’s more fun this way.” She said amused.
“Fun for you maybe…” You mumbled softly.
“Do you want a hint?” She asked. The way she looked at you was almost mischievous.
You weren’t what kind of hint she would give you, but you slowly nodded.
“Okay, then you will have to close your eyes.”
You raised an eyebrow for a moment. Then you sighed and closed your eyes. “This better not be a pra-...!”
You could feel Tulip’s lips being pressed against yours. You were surprised by it, but you slowly kissed her back. Her lips felt so soft… Kissing her just seemed to be really nice. Once she pulled away, you just stared at her.
She smirked a little, looking into your eyes. “Did you understand my hint and do you understand the deeper meaning now?” She asked softly.
  “I fancy you, Y/N Y/L/N.”

I love the stuff you’ve done so far!
I’m basically obsessed with Quidditch (to an extent it’s embarrassing 😂), could I request a little fluff with our favourite captain Orion? 👉👈
Reading content about him I didn’t need to write into existence myself always makes my day 😄
Thank you so much! I am also obsessed with Quidditch (embarrassingly so 😂). Orion is definitely the best captain (sorry, Oliver), so he deserves some fluff! I get the difference between reading something you didn’t write and writing it yourself, so I’m always down to write whatever you want, especially because you’ve been so kind on all of my posts! Thank you so much for all your lovely words, they’re really appreciated.
Pairing: Orion Amari x Reader
Warnings: None really, just fluff. Very, very mild injury.
Note: I tried to keep the houses as nondescript as possible, so you can fill in the teams with whichever houses you like. Also, in this piece, the reader is a chaser. ALSO, since I think in very simple terms, Orion's dialogue was impossible for me to write. I tried, though. ALSO I thought that Orion losing his cool would be fun.
Word Count: 1.8k
Summary: PROTECTIVE. ORION. You get hurt during the game, and he isn't about to let it slide.
Just a Bruise
For all intents and purposes, it was a regular Quidditch game. Your team was up about a hundred points, and the opposing team was getting desperate. It was not lost on you or your teammates when your opponents started to pull out the dirty tactics. Your team continued to play respectably, not wanting to stoop to your opponents' level.
You and your fellow chasers, Orion and Skye, were tearing down the pitch, praying that the beaters would be competent enough to keep the bludgers away from you. The opposing beaters seemed to be trying out a new strategy. It appeared, to you at least, that they had decided to pick off the chasers, one by one, starting with you.
Bludgers zoomed past you, nearly missing you as you swerved and dodged the balls that were sent your way as you flew. You put your faith in your beaters, knowing that their job was to protect you. Your faith was misguided, you realized, when you felt a sharp pain in your side that sent you hurtling toward the ground.
Luckily for you, Madam Hooch must have been on top of her game. As you were anticipating contact with the ground, you felt your descent stop. Instead of slamming into the pitch below you, you were lowered gently onto it.
Through the slight pain in your side and the adrenaline coursing through you from the fall, you heard a faint call for a timeout. You heard something hit the ground close by, and a panicked voice that you couldn't quire place due to the rush of blood through your ears. Before you could even open your eyes, you felt a hand gently cradling the back of your head.
"Open your eyes. Please," the fog in your mind cleared enough to realize that it was Orion that sounded panicked.
You slid one eye open, squinting slightly, almost as if you were trying to make sure that you really were okay. After making sure that you really hadn't become one with the ground, you let your eyes open. Orion let out a soft breath, his face full of relief. "You gave me quite the scare. Are you feeling alright?"
You nodded gently, offering him a half-smile. Madam Hooch hovered over you for a moment. "Are you alright, (Y/L/N)? Let's get you to the hospital wing."
You shook your head fervently as you looked up at her. "No, no! I'm okay. I just got the wind knocked out of me. Give me a second to breathe, and I'll be back up there."
"You really shouldn't continue to play."
"I have to! I'll be fine, I swear."
She looked at you reluctantly before nodding. "Very well. I suggest that you head there after the game, though."
With that, she stalked off. You could hear her reprimanding the other team, but you didn't quite care enough to figure out exactly what was being said.
You then made a failed attempted to sit up. A shooting pain blossomed in your side and spread toward your stomach as you tried to sit up. With a wince, you moved to lay back down. You looked at Orion, his hand still gently holding the back of your head to keep it separated from the ground.
The look on his face moved from relief to worry as you were obviously hurting. You tried to sit up one more time, clenching your jaw to work through the pain. It subsided after a moment, allowing you to fully sit upright. Someone landed a few feet off to the side of you. You caught it out of the corner of your eye.
"That was a wicked hit, (Y/L/N)," Skye said as she moved to kneel beside you. She gave you a sympathetic smile, "You alright?"
You, once again, nodded. "Yeah, fine. I promise."
"Hey, (Y/L/N)! Watch where you're going next time. Maybe you won't get hit," one of the beaters on the opposing team jeered.
The voice shook Orion out of whatever trance he was in. He had previously been watching you quietly, likely trying to figure out how injured you really are. His face fell at the mockery, and you saw something you'd never seen in his eyes before. Rage.
The usually calm captain was up and storming toward the opposing team. He grabbed the beater that made the comment by the collar and practically pulled him off the ground. "If that bludger left so much as a bruise, I'm coming for your head. Do you understand?!"
Orion, in the entire time you'd known him, had never, ever lost his cool. He had never raised his voice. He sure as hell had never threatened anyone. You shared a look of pure disbelief with Skye.
Madam Hooch could be heard trying to break it up. "Mr. Amari, you stop that! Right now!"
He didn't seem to be listening to her. From your spot on the ground, you couldn't quite see the beater's reaction, but you could hear the worried tone. "That's the game! People get hurt!"
"Tell me, do people get targeted? Is that the game?"
The beater stuttered through his answer. "No. No, they don't."
Orion was half way through another threat when Madam Hooch broke it up. Her firm, booming voice seemed to fill the pitch. "Mr. Amari! Enough!"
Orion begrudgingly let go of the beater, practically shoving him away. He turned and made his way back to you, kneeling in front of you again. Any trace of the anger that he just felt dissipated when his eyes settled on you again. You couldn't hide the look of shock on your face at his outburst. "What's wrong, darling?"
"I had no idea you even knew what anger was."
He let out a light laugh at the comment. "I apologize for losing my temper. Seeing you in pain and the insensitivity he showed you lit a deep-seated fire in me, love. I would be remiss to let that slide."
You let out a soft giggle at his words. Skye stood and extended her hand toward you. "C'mon, (Y/L/N). We have a game to win."
You took her hand and stood. You stumbled slightly from the force Skye used to pull you up, and Orion reached out to steady you. You shot him a grateful smile. His eyes found yours, and the worry was back. "Are you absolutely positive that you can continue to play?"
"I'm fine, Ri. Really. Don't worry about me."
He let out a gentle sigh. With a nod of his head, he moved to place a hand on your cheek. "Fine, but I'm taking you to the hospital wing after the game."
You rolled your eyes playfully. "If you insist."
He grinned and leaned in to press a gentle kiss to your forehead. "I do, darling."
You two just looked at each other for a moment before he pulled you into a hug. You noticed that he tried his best to avoid hugging you too tight so as not to irritate your injury. You hugged him tightly and felt a light kiss pressed to your temple. He spoke in a gentle tone. "I want you to be careful up there."
"Ri, if I'm careful, we'll lose the game."
"I'd rather lose the game than lose you, love. Please, promise me you will take it easy."
You relented, knowing that he'd bench you if you protested. "Fine. I will."
Orion called off the time out, and both your team and the opposition took to the sky again. Even though you promised Orion you'd take it easy, you worked harder than you had before the time out. There was no way you'd let the other team win after their stunt.
You were already so many points ahead that they really had no hope of taking the victory. This was cemented when your seeker caught the snitch.
You followed the rest of your team as they descended onto the pitch. Before you could join the celebration, a hand gently circled your wrist and was pulling you toward the direction of the castle. You weren't shocked to realize it was Orion. "Ri, what are you doing?"
"I'm taking you to the hospital wing. Like I insisted."
You giggled gently. "But we have celebrating to do!"
"I know how much you love the festivities after the games, but I will only be able to celebrate when you are taken care of. Once we are sure that you are free from injury, we will join our teammates in celebration."
You grinned at him, and he looked at you just in time to catch it. He returned the smile. "You worry about me more than I worry about me, Ri."
He let out a light chuckle. "Trust me, I already know that."
Orion continued to walk with you to the hospital wing, letting Madam Pomfrey take you from him to give you a quick check. She had you sit on a bed as she inspected the place you got hit. "Just a nasty bruise. No broken ribs, no collapsed lungs. No ruptured organs. You should be alright in a few days."
You thanked her. Orion was waiting for you just outside the hospital wing. "So?"
You grinned at him. "Just a bruise, Ri. Can we go party now?"
He grinned and moved to take your hands, using his grip on them to pull you in closer to him. He leaned in, placing a soft, loving kiss on your forehead. "Of course we can, love."
The two of you started off back toward your common room. You knew that the party would already be started. As you walked, he turned to glance at you. "Do you know how proud of you I am?"
"What?" you asked with a grin. A light blush found its way onto your cheeks.
"You played amazingly today, before and after the incident. You always play amazingly. You are an asset to our team."
You grinned, speaking playfully. "Just to the team?"
He laughed. "To me, too. You truly are a gift, and I am thankful for you every single day."
"You're pretty cool yourself."
You two shared a laugh over that. Before heading into the common room. He stopped you just before you walked into the room. With a light grin, he reached up to carefully brush some stray hair from your face, leaning in to press a soft kiss to your lips. After pulling away, both of you were grinning. He spoke in a light tone. "I truly am glad that you're not too badly hurt. I don't know what I would do if you were."
You grinned, moving to gently cup his cheeks. "I'm fine, I promise. Let's go in and have some fun, okay?"
He nodded at you. "Let's, darling."
The two of you then walked into the common room, joining your housemates for the party.

Ofelia is an animagus and she is an eagle. She always had the dream of flying that even in the magical world, is not something too seen if is not with brooms. Despite this, she enjoys Quidditch a lot, but it is not the same to fly with your own body and set the rules completely yourself. Many nights, when everyone in the Hufflepuff common room is sleeping, she silently sneaks into a window and flies around Hogwarts. Although she may not know it, Talbott does the same from time to time as he enjoys the lonely nights. And every time they fly but not together, Talbott admires her enthusiastic and playful flight by splashing in the lake or transforming into her for a few seconds in the air so that when she is about to touch the water she becomes a bird again.
He would never have admitted it but his dancing flight enchanted him.
