(This is my opinion, please don't hate on me for having my own point of view)

Mary and Arthur:

7/10.

I think they're cute, but they're not my favorite either.

I feel that Mary didn't know any other way to approach Arthur, that's why she always asked for his help, to be able to see him, and since Arthur was very helpful, he always came to her call.

So, i don't feel like they were a bad couple, they were just unexpert in that kind of relationships (or any kind of relationship in Arthur's case).

John and Abigail:

8/10.

I also think they're cute, but they're also not my favorite (or at least not totally).

(I'm going to add Jack to my explanation, because i feel that he's an important element in the evolution of Abigail's and John's relationship through the game)

At first John didn't showed much interest in his relationship with Abigail and Jack, it wasn't until the epilogue 1 that we see a little bit of change in his behavior when it came to Jack and Abigail.

And when Abigail decides to leave him after exposing Jack to danger, that's when John decides to change and try to be a better man for Abigail and a better father to Jack.

When Abigail comes back with Jack and John decides to ask her to marry him, that's a clear sign that John has changed his way of thinking when it came to relationships, even Abigail herself asks him why is he doing this when it was clear that he didn't care about that kind of stuff before.

That's when the change in John's mentality becomes more evident by the answer he gives her, he says that he used to not care, but that he does now, and he even uses the ring that Mary asked Arthur to give someone else who could give it a better use, one that represents the love that couldn't be with Arthur and Mary, but that it could now be with John and Abigail.

In conclusion; i like this couple for the evolution that it had during the events of rdr2 and rdr1, because even if John still acted rough or cold with Abigail, he still showed that he cared for her and Jack, trying to do right by them this time, even trying to raise Jack and be a better father for him, something that Abigail asked him since the first chapter of the game.

So... basically yeah, i liked them... a lot actually.... they're a nice couple 👍🏻... i don't know why i did a whole-ass analisis if the point here is making small comments about the couples, but... let's just say that this a special case.

Karen and Sean:

9.2/10.

They're my favorite, i love them, they're such an underrated couple :D.

I wish they could've had more screentime in the game, they had so much potential.

Karen even mourned him when he died (she really loved him 😭)

I love how even when Sean was drunk or sober, he always tried to approach Karen, even if it was in a sudden way (he's so stupid it's cute).

Mary-beth and Kieran:

8.5/10.

They're also really cute.

I love how Kieran was the shy one.

She was always looking for him and defending him from the others 😭.

I wish they could've had more screentime too.

I like to imagine that after leaving the gang, Mary-beth writted a love novel based on her and Kieran (she changed their names, course).

Sadie and Jake:

7.8/10.

Sadie really loved her Jakey 😭.

I wish we could see more of their relationship in rdro.

I like to think that Sadie kept one of Jake's belongings after leaving her home and joining the gang.

I feel like they're a girlboss/malewife type of relationship 👍🏻.

Molly and Dutch:

2/10.

Molly deserved more better.

Dutch wasn't good for her.

The age gap was crazy..

I wish i could give Molly a hug (I could treat you much better Molly 🛐)

I really don't have much to say about this couple that it's haven't been said by now.

Penelope and Beau:

6.4/10

One of my favorite missions of the principal game.

Young love is so cute.

Sometimes i like to imagine what did Beau's letter's said to penelope.

I feel like Beau would support and help penelope with her feminist protests after escaping with her.

I don't really have much to say here since the game doesn't show us much about their relationship.

They're still pretty cute tho.

Oc x Canon ship mention :)

Tessa and Lenny:

7.4/10.

Yes, i know i'm cringe for adding my oc x canon ship, but fuck it, this is my post and i'm gonna do whatever i want in it u_u.

Aah.... Young love... again, i think it's a pretty cute concept.

I feel like Lenny always tried to teach Tessa how to read, but she never took it seriously(she still knew how to read a little bit, though, thanks to Lenny). But after he died, she kept a few of his books(and some other belongings to remember him) to learn how to read better.

Another thing that i like to think about these 2 is that Lenny has told Tessa about Jenny, he has told her stories about Jenny. Though i feel like he would respect for his new partner and even though he misses Jenny, he wouldn't compare Tessa to Jenny, because he loved both of them by who they are individually (Healthy relationship, yippiee :D).

I feel that they would also be the Girlboss/Malewife type of relationship.

So.... yeah, that's all, i really don't know what else to add since the post's title explains the content pretty well so... yeah, that's all :)

What The RDR2 Characters Would Do At Pride || pt 3

Orville Swanson - He's there to preach that God loves all his children ESPECIALLY his gay children. Tells the homophobes they should be ashamed of themselves. Gives out lots of hugs and becomes AA sponsor to a person or two by the end of the night. Karen Jones - Is scouting for a gay best friend. Arthur gently tells her how that's not cool and she stops and is instead just having a good time. Gets super drunk with Sean and joins in the "I LOVE GAY PEOPLE" "I HAVE GAY FRIENDS" stuff being overly friendly to every person until they're taken home. Has a wicked hangover and a sunburn the next day. Javier Esculla - Insists he's just there to support his friends but he ends up with some guys number and it makes him really question some things. John Marston - I love my bisexual wife T-Shirt. Proudly tells everyone his wife is bisexual. Isn't she beautiful? She's bisexual. I love her so much. Jack Marston - Got to get his face painted, eat lots of candy, and watch a parade. So basically it's the best day ever and when Abigail and John come to tuck him into bed later he says he wishes every day was pride. Molly O'Shea - Sitting under a tree writing poetry at a pride festival is actually the perfect place to find a girlfriend apparently. The gang looked for her at the end of the night only to see a selfie of her and some stunning masc woman with the caption don't wait up. They ended up in a serious relationship. Leopold Strauss - Attempts to take up collections for a "queer children charity". Hosea spots that real fast and gets him to give back the money and get the fuck out. He's no longer in the group chat. Penelope Braithwaite - Counter-protesting the protestors. Shouting over them so no one has to hear their bullshit. Holding up signs in support of LGBT individuals. She is the ultimate ally. Beau Gray - Was Penelope's ride so he stayed to hold up a sign during her protest and make sure they were all okay. When things wound down and they stopped the protest the two of them met up with Arthur and the gang to hang out for a while.

god. i don't discuss this much or ever, really, but i truly do believe that penelope and beau were the family arthur needed.

They represented a green but fierce and strong-backed love between two young people he could protect and nurture. On one hand: A gentle, soft, artistic young romantic, the kind of man and lover Arthur never had a chance in hell of being (but might have been in some other dream of life) in the throes of a pure and openhearted love (a completely consuming and unguarded love Young Arthur was far too afraid and wounded to embrace for himself even given how young he was when he met Mary). On the other hand, a bravehearted, future-minded firecracker suffragist who did what the more traditionalist Mary was never truly going to be able to do (abandoning her awful family to run away and risk her life starting anew).

It's all very perfect and fitting and of course in canon he immediately projects on them and likes them both immensely, pathetically halfhearted protests aside. (Beau being the exact type of soft-but-sassy, extremely genuine/passionate man that Arthur enjoys; Penelope being the exact type of driven, society-defying, deviant intellectual person he most admires.) Lots of nice useful parallels of the past and "take a chance that love exists" fulfillment, etc etc. Literary themes. I like all of that stuff.

But honestly at a more home-and-hearth level, this is the exact type of denouement I want for Arthur. Perhaps he won't get his Settled and Domestic existence on a Hard Work Ranch of his own. Perhaps he won't get married and quit running and make one final forever place to stop and live and rest in. But perhaps, though that is the happy future he imagines for himself, that idea of settled down is not really what Arthur needs from it. Maybe he just needs a different sort of cobbled-together, undomesticated family to run with. One that welcomes and deeply appreciates his help... but one that doesn't so heavily rely on him to be workhorse. One that has a future completely independent of Arthur's past. One that mostly just decides, sincerely but with the ferocity of loyalty and affection with which Penny and Beau seem to do everything, that they want him around.

A part of me knows this is an outlandish, ridiculous what-if and I don't actually wish the story ended this way, of course. But another part of me wants to see what might have happened if he had hopped on that stagecoach with them to help them get a little farther. To watch days become weeks become months as Penelope and Beau get off to a rocky start as they fumble through their new life on the lam, but are too happy with each other and the youngness of their dreams to care. To watch arthur teach Penny how to use that revolver and Beau, well, he can sit and look pretty and write poems... and indeed, even in canon there's nothing wrong with that idea to Arthur, as long as the "soft" man in question lives to make his woman happy (something Arthur badly wanted with Mary, a life to live just for her, but didn't have a real shot in hell at living).

I want to watch Penelope drag Arthur around TERRIBLE OHIO by the arm to look at kittens in pet store windows and drink fancy coffee and maybe buy some new shirts (and if they don't have money for both of them, they can steal one and buy the other). Then they can go pick Beau up from busking or skipping stones on the lake or drawing Penelope's most-beautiful face from memory or whatever the hell he does with his time, and all three of them get cheap dinner and eat it outside. She introduces him to all the OHIOANS as her AWFUL UNCLE (wonderful man) and they include him in everything and make him their new family, their father figure of choice (big brother figure? uncle figure? none of and yet all of the above?). And if they do have children, Arthur gets to help make sure those children grow up surrounded by so much love and safety and happy ignorance, the begat-by-healthy-love childhood Arthur and no one else around him ever seemed to have. And Penelope and Beau have finally made a family of their own to truly belong to, and Arthur gets to become more of the man he has always truly been inside, and none of them ever feel unwanted or out of place in their own home ever again. THE END. god.

Started the game over and decided to capture more moments from the game I actually like this one of her I got more but I wanted to share this one first.

every time i get to chapter 3 of rdr2 and arthur basically has his whole messenger boy era between the grays and the braithwaites, i always feel like beau gray could be jess who just LOVES rory but he’s just. a simple worker in their fields and rory, god, rory is a GILMORE but he knows they are meant to be together!! he KNOWS it and he writes her letters while her grandparents are trying to marry her off to the no other than logan huntzberger, the sheriff’s son and a very important family in their region…….. anyway literati rdr2 au when!!!

Different country myth but might I also raise you;

Arthur and Mary are Lancelot and Guinevere from Arthurian legend/folklore.

Lancelot being King Arthur's most loyal knight but falls in love with the Queen Guinevere and the two have a forbidden/secret love affair, their loyalty and faith to the most important man in their lives (King Arthur, an allegory for both Dutch and Mary's father) being put to the test. Tragically, Guinevere and Lancelot's affair gets discovered and whilst Lancelot is forced to escape, unable to save Guinevere despite trying to, she is condemned to burn at stake. Lancelot attempts to rescue her by killing several of King Arthur's knights in the process. In the end, Guinevere survives,  but instead lives the rest of her life in a nunnery. As for Lancelot, he spends the rest of his days as a desolate hermit.

After "Mary and Arthur are Odysseus and Penelope" I raise you "Mary and Arthur are Odysseus and Calypso" and most importantly, Mary is Orpheus and Arthur is Eurydice. If you get it you get it.

And John/Abigail/Jack are also lowkey Odysseus/Penelope/Telemachus coded. Or rather Hector/Andromache/Astyanax, taking into account their tragedy.

And then Dutch is just Zeus. And yes I have been listening to Epic the musical and Hadestown.

I have played the TLOU series multiple times and replay them frequently. My favorite characters are Joel Miller and Abby Anderson. 

I have not finished Baldur’s Gate 3. I have over 400 hours into it, gotten to Act 3 twice, but love replaying Act 1 and Act 2.

Skyrim and Elder Scrolls Online are more casual for me. I have not been on ESO in a couple years, but if I find a group maybe I’ll hop back on! In both, I play a high elf mage. I have never married anyone, I am always content to have a happy, platonic love with Serana.

I have played RDR2 only once. I did a “good” playthrough and the story destroyed my soul in such a severe way that I have not been able to do another playthrough several years later. I love the game, I love the story, and I do plan to do another playthrough one day. My favorite characters are Arthur and Sean.

I have played Detroit: Become Human a couple times, but have tended to stick with the "good" choices. I would like to do a "bad" playthrough, but we will see! My favorite character is Connor, and everyone else is on the back burner.
