#rdr2 boaz

Possibly the strangest thing I've seen in this game yet.

My Arthur is out on a ride with Persephone in the vicinity of the Downes farm, minding his own business, and then this happens.

I haven't done anything special since loading into the game, no missions or anything besides a little hunting, and then Boaz just strolls down the road fully tacked and completely alone. Javier is nowhere to be seen, no one is giving chase. Boaz won't let me mount up from the ground, but I can jump to him from Persephone's back.

What is going on.

Near Tumbleweed.

There's a specific ache in my heart that eats at me every time I go into the Tumbleweed stables and see Silver Dollar, Branwen, Gwydion, Boaz and Ennis there.

Part of me knows it's just a fun bonus for the players to be able to buy some of the gang members' horses, but the other part of me aches because of how much the gang members loved their horses and aren't around to love them anymore.

bill and javier mysteriously went missing, no worries, just gives Boaz and Brown Jack more time to gossip!! (sheesh, the closet is so clear that even the horses can see it..) this reminded me of that scene from your fic where boaz learns from brown jack that bill's been crushing on javier <3

ch2 javi gives boaz a chili pepper leaf once as a treat (because javier himself loves chili peppers) and the capsaicin gives him a tummy ache but javi doesn’t know that capsaicin is bad for horses so he has no idea what the problem is and is freaking out a bit so he very incredibly begrudgingly drags himself to kieran, whom he knows probably will have an answer, and kieran is like “he just has a tummy ache, he’s okay :)” and javi is so unbelievably embarrassed but kieran was so nice to him that he’s also a little … charmed ?
