Discover the Best Resin Bound Driveways in the West Midlands for Your Home
The West Midlands, a region brimming with history and charm, is home to countless beautiful properties. A well-maintained driveway is an essential element in enhancing the curb appeal and overall value of any home. While traditional asphalt or concrete driveways have long been the standard, a growing number of homeowners are opting for the modern and stylish alternative: resin bound driveways. These surfaces offer a unique blend of durability, aesthetics, and low maintenance, making them a compelling choice for discerning homeowners in the West Midlands.
This comprehensive guide will delve into the benefits of resin bound driveways, explore the key factors to consider when choosing a reputable installer, and provide insights into finding the best resin bound driveway specialists in the West Midlands.
Tumblr media
Understanding Resin Bound Driveways
Resin bound driveways in west midlands are a modern surfacing solution that combines the beauty of aggregates (small stones) with the strength and durability of resin. The process involves mixing aggregates with a clear, high-performance resin, creating a smooth, seamless surface that's both attractive and highly functional.
Benefits of Resin Bound Driveways:
Durability: Resin bound driveways are incredibly strong and can withstand heavy traffic, extreme weather conditions, and even the weight of vehicles. They resist cracking, fading, and damage from UV rays, ensuring long-lasting performance.
Low Maintenance: Unlike traditional gravel driveways, resin bound driveways require minimal upkeep. They don't need to be swept or weeded, and they resist staining and fading, saving you time and effort.
Aesthetic Appeal: Resin bound driveways come in a wide range of colors and aggregate options, allowing you to create a unique and personalized look that complements your home's style. You can choose from natural stone aggregates, colored aggregates, or even incorporate decorative elements like glass or shells.
Permeability: Resin bound driveways are permeable, meaning they allow rainwater to drain through, preventing puddles and reducing the risk of flooding. This eco-friendly feature makes them a responsible choice for sustainable landscaping.
Accessibility: The smooth, even surface of a resin bound driveway makes it ideal for wheelchairs, mobility scooters, and other assistive devices, promoting accessibility and inclusivity.
Key Factors to Consider When Choosing a Resin Bound Driveway Installer:
Experience and Expertise: Look for installers with a proven track record in resin bound driveway installations. Their experience translates into quality workmanship, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of the nuances of the installation process.
Certifications and Accreditations: Reputable installers will hold relevant certifications and accreditations, such as those from the Resin Bound Surfacing Association (RBSA). These certifications demonstrate adherence to industry standards and best practices.
Materials and Products: Inquire about the specific materials and products used by the installer. High-quality resin and aggregates are crucial for a durable and aesthetically pleasing driveway. Look for installers who use reputable brands and materials that meet industry standards.
Installation Process: Understand the installer's installation process, including preparation, mixing, application, and curing. A thorough and meticulous installation process ensures a long-lasting and visually appealing driveway.
Warranty and Guarantees: Reputable installers offer comprehensive warranties and guarantees on their workmanship and materials. This provides peace of mind and protects your investment.
Customer Service and Communication: Choose an installer who communicates effectively, responds promptly to inquiries, and provides clear and detailed information throughout the project. Excellent customer service is crucial for a positive and stress-free experience.
Pricing and Value: Compare quotes from different installers, considering the scope of work, materials used, and any additional services offered. Look for installers who offer competitive pricing without compromising on quality.
Finding the Best Resin Bound Driveway Specialists in the West Midlands:
Online Research: Start by searching for "resin bound driveways near me" or "resin bound driveway installers [your city/town]" within the West Midlands region. This will provide a list of local companies in your area.
Online Directories and Reviews: Websites like Checkatrade, Trustpilot, and Yell.com are excellent resources for finding reputable businesses and reading customer reviews. Pay attention to the overall rating, specific comments, and any red flags.
Social Media: Explore Facebook groups and local community forums where people often share recommendations for contractors and service providers.
Ask for Referrals: Reach out to friends, family, and neighbors who have recently had resin bound driveways installed. Their personal experiences can provide valuable insights.
Schedule Consultations: Arrange site visits with the shortlisted installers. This allows them to assess your driveway, discuss your requirements, and provide personalized recommendations.
Ask Questions: During consultations, don't hesitate to ask questions about their experience, materials, installation process, maintenance requirements, and any warranties offered.
Conclusion:
Choosing the right resin bound driveway installer in the West Midlands is an investment in the beauty and functionality of your home. By carefully considering the factors discussed above, you can find a reputable company that provides high-quality workmanship, competitive pricing, and excellent customer service. Remember to prioritize experience, certifications, materials, installation process, warranties, and communication when making your decision. With a little research and careful consideration, you can find a company that will deliver a stunning resin bound driveway that enhances your property's curb appeal and provides lasting value

Selection for RBSA Exhibition
I am beyond delighted to let you know that my piece: 'Derwent Water I' has been selected for the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists Friends Exhibition.
Tumblr media
'The annual RBSA Friends Exhibition gives artists starting their membership journey with the RBSA the opportunity to exhibit work in the Gallery.
With the Friends scheme having been in existence since the 1900s, the RBSA was one of the first art societies to offer subscribers the opportunity to exhibit in a dedicated exhibition and the number of submissions has grown year on year. A significant number of Friends progress up the RBSA membership ladder to become Associates and, later, full Members, and many have also helped shape the future of the Society by becoming Council members.
The number of Friends currently stands at approximately 250 meaning that an enormously diverse range of artistic practices are represented in the exhibition. The work on display also demonstrates the wealth of talent within the Friends community'. (RBSA)

Joseph Edward Southall RWS NEAC RBSA (23 August 1861 – 6 November 1944) was an English painter associated with the Arts and Crafts movement.
Southall's experiments with tempera were also taxing throughout the late 1880s, and for a while he returned to oils. A third visit to Italy in 1890 re ignited his enthusiasm, however, and from 1893 his increasingly successful works in tempera received the wholehearted support of Edward Burne-Jones, who expressed particular admiration for Beauty Seeing the Image of her Home in the Fountain and personally submitted Southall's work for exhibition alongside his own.
By the late 1890s Southall's experiments had established a method of painting that, while not identical to those documented by Italian sources such as Cennino Cennini, was practical, viable and a genuine tempera method. Although he was not the first Victorian artist to experiment with tempera (John Roddam Spencer Stanhope had exhibited a tempera painting in 1880) he was acknowledged as one of the leaders of its revival, exhibiting with the Arts and Crafts Exhibition Society, the Royal Academy and the Paris Salon. In 1901 he was prominent among the artists who exhibited at the Modern Paintings in Tempera exhibition at Leighton House Museum and six months later was one of the founder members of the Society of Painters in Tempera, writing the first of the society's technical papers on Grounds suitable for painting in Tempera.
Although Southall was never on the staff of the Birmingham School of Art, he maintained close friendships with the core of staff and pupils at the school who would later be identified as the Birmingham Group of Artist-Craftsmen - introducing artists such as Henry Payne, Maxwell Armfield and Arthur Gaskin (a lifelong friend) to his methods during technical demonstrations at his studio in Edgbaston.

So chuffed that this little bit of Foxton canal has been selected for the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists Open 2020 exhibition & will be hanging in the RBSA Gallery for a month from 5 March - 4 April. I know it shouldn’t be all about getting selected for things but it was nice to give it a shot as I’ve loved taking my work in a slightly more abstract direction with the oil & cold wax & this just gives me a little boost that the powers that be like what I’m doing!
