If the spnepisodebracket craze has shown us anything, it's that the supernatural fanbase is extremely divided, with the lowly sam stan seemingly at the bottom of the pile. sam is always last in polls, so this is a bracket for the 10% or so who always votes for him. because yeah, there's 327 episodes of Supernatural, but how many are popular because of a dean or destiel moment? how many good episodes are drowned out because they focus on sam?

i've chosen, with some crowdsourced peer review (special thanks to @spneveryseason, @suncaptor, and @ambersock!) 125 episodes that are Sam Relevant. Some are extremely sam-centric, some just have a shot where sam looks like he's being crucified that gives me brain worms -- i tried to be generous about it to keep a relatively even seasons distribution! matchups will be random and polls will last 24 hours each. in the tradition of @spnepisodebracket (who this is obviously inspired by and would not be possible without!) i'll try to rb a gifset for every episode in the poll!

a final note: no this is not that serious but the criteria for voting here should be how good the episode is as a SAM episode, not as anything else, so please vote accordingly! i am making this for people who actually enjoy sam and if that is not you, then this is not the poll for you!

I love stelena but sometimes I’m just boggled when ppl put more blame on Elena for that relationship downfall. I mean s3 is an obvious example but also after that as well. I did rb posts about Stefan slutshaming Elena in s4 and mention but I wanna explain this in full detail why it seemed like he did (to me at least):

In 4x07, d*lena fucked and that’s when steroline found out about Elena being sired to Damon and that she would be doing everything that made him happy.

In 4x09, that when Stefan found out about them, so not only does he know about them, he knows she was sired to damon

So basically Stefan KNEW about the consent issues and rape, but STILL blamed Elena for her own rape.

Then also in s5, he and Caroline were pushing d*lena back together to keep damon in line and I know they were trying to do the whole se/de comparison where Stefan wants to be happy no matter what, but Elena and Damon are miserable WITH each other. So how could he not be able to tell that.

4x09 episode thoughts

.when ABM and RB said this episode would be bonkers they were not kidding

Started cackling with the porn Rebecca chose, first just for the subject (as is her right!) and when porn!Josh and Greg started listing all of the reasons why things could never work between them

I still have a very strong nostalgic fondness for Cats from when I was young (though that was because I had the video tape and loved the dancing, no idea if I would ever have watched it live), so the recurring song had me giggling the whole way through. What a great metaphor.

Although admittedly, I do hate the Naming of the Cats number.

Also all of them drinking milk at the bar at the end and dishing on the guys! I almost wish there was a random cat there rooting for Vegan Manbun guy.

Poor, poor horny Rebecca. All of this stuff kept happening and yes, there were some bad choices thrown in the mix, but honestly the final pileup was so not her fault.

They are really using Vinnie’s bod and displaying it to its full advantage, aren’t they?

I am not complaining at all.

Also I kind of like that Valencia casually admits she still finds him hot, even if she never ever ever wants to get back together.

I loved Nathaniel and Greg’s refusals to make an old-fashioned “damn women” adage and the callback with Rebecca and Valencia

I was pretty amused by Nathaniel/Greg getting along and Whijo’s utter horror. I guess the writers wanted to get the question of ‘how will these characters interact’ out of the way ASAP. 

Like, this isn’t The Bachelorette - it’s not just going to be all three of them competing over Rebecca, which would just be kind of annoying.

I actually really like the idea that Nathaniel might end up helping Greg out with the zoning regulations for his father’s restaurant. That could be very interesting and I hope they do pick it up as they interact again, so their interactions aren’t just within the romantic storyline.

Whijo’s comic timing was great.

My biggest ‘want’ for Nu!Greg though, continues to be for him and Josh to have a juicy story together. seriously.

Vic remains very hot and very buff and very sensible. Good for you, Whijo.

I love Valencia making Rebecca promise not to sleep with her father, Jorge. I love that Rebecca has met Jorge, actually.

Fernanda and Jorge, for all you fic writers keeping track out there.

Jason was super sweet and a good intro back into dating for Rebecca. Also his mom’s a gyno! Whatta guy.

Though...yeah, don’t blame him for peacing out. Three bad dates with the same girl is a good time to call it quits.

I continue to enjoy Nu!Greg as well as his fails at the gym.

I like the idea of Darryl and Bert having friction, but honestly I’m surprised with how much screentime Bert has had this season. I’m wondering if they are building up to a couple more big changes that will be going down at MountainTop (preferably, because he’s the larger shareholder, Bert approving something that Plimpton Sr doesn’t want so it will come back to bite Plimpton Sr in the ass. I would like that) by having him get on so well with the others.

Father Brah being a conflict mediator made me laugh, as did Maya’s crush on him. “Confession: you are super cute.” Oh Maya

Blindspot 4x09

This was a hell of an episode and I just could watch it today! I was quite sick and not in the mood for nothing, really.

But today I see it and I must confess! I was so wrong about the whole "Kurt trying to get Jane back" situation.

I was having mixed feelings when Kurt was so desperate (and with reasons) to recover Jane from Remi. But I was thinking she IS Remi, Jane is an illusion result from the zip shit and he shouldn't try to change her just bc he doesn't like Remi. And I was wrong, of course.

Before Jane, before Remi, she was Alice. And this parted identity were the one Alice was, or was yet to become. But now she's a whole new person with a whole lot of memories and so much to process

I can't deny I teared up a bit watching this episode, and I'm so proud of Jane's strength and Jaime's acting skills!
