Sorry, but Crowe was genuinely great in this movie. He knew exactly what film he was in.
Similarly I don’t think you can call Vin Diesel’s performances in the Fast and Furious films *bad*. Seems to have held the whole franchise together.
Between this and picking on child actors, The Razzies aren’t fun anymore.

I have a strong feeling these will be the only awards Marvel wins this year:
Worst Director (Payton Reed)
Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-Off Or Sequel
Worst Supporting Actor (both Michael Douglas and Bill Murray)

March's Most Popular Movies on the Criterion Channel
Tumblr media
But, Dave! Some of those movies are notoriously horrible?!!
Tumblr media
Every year, the Golden Raspberry Awards (a.k.a. the Razzies) honor the “worst” in contemporary cinema. Yet in doing so, they have often inadvertently shed light on films so out-there, so uncompromising, so beyond the bounds of accepted “good” taste that they demand attention. While some infamous Razzie winners like XANADU, BARB WIRE, and GIGLI live on as classics of camp and cult, others, like Michael Cimino’s HEAVEN’S GATE, Elaine May’s ISHTAR, and Paul Verhoeven’s SHOWGIRLS have been reclaimed as fearlessly ambitious expressions of personal vision. In a topsy-turvy way, this program pays tribute to those divisive films that continue to fascinate and provoke debate, while calling into question the very line that separates high and low culture.

Cocktail (1988) - Roger Donaldson
Days get shorter and shorter, nights longer and longer, before you know it, your life is just one long night with a few comatose daylight hours.

Ana De Armes and Chris Evans in Ghosted prove that despite how hot and talented you both are…if the chemistry isn’t there, it just isn’t.
And no one at Apple noticed this.

Laughing at the ogre in charge of the fhc trying desperately to explain why dwd doesn't feature in the Razzies.
All she could come up with was that the film "wasn't important and memorable enough."
Not important and memorable with over 200 reviews and more think pieces written about it than all other films combined this year?
Not memorable when the fhc freaks themselves still cannot shut up about Olivia and Flo and dwd months after it premiered?
In reality, dwd simply wasn't a disastrous enough film to deserve Razzies, not by a long, long way.
👏👏👏

For the most part, I avoid articles such as this one that are written in the tone of a film school essay but what separates Mark Asch’s breakdown of the guilty pleasures of watching “trash cinema” is that it’s subject scratches an itch I’ve always had for “great bad movies.”
