Show Me How to Lie [END OTW RACISM]
Spade doesn't know his name. All he knows is his chest hurts, he hates fire, and his arms are empty. He's not sure he wants to know all he's forgotten. The heroes don't know what to do about this strange Villain that mostly does dine-and-dashes rather than actual damage.
My name [END OTW RACISM]
Instead of the USJ incident, the LoV captured Spade a week before the Training Camp incident. It doesn't change much, in the end, but All for One really should have thought it through when he let Shiragaki kidnap both Spade, Bakugou... and Monkey D. Luffy.
Once again, villains are the reason Ace regains his memories.
(Basically, a what-if scenario from "Show me how to lie")
Men of the Past
Roger couldn't remember what had happened after Laught Tale, something was blocking his memories. Finding out you were in the future was shocking, they had to be careful while trying to find their allies.
"Roger? What is in your hands?" Rayleigh asked.
"Bread." Roger said as he munches on it, in his arms was a terrified little girl known as Nico Robin.
Memoriam
!!!not canon to Burn Brighter!!! just a fun what-if i wanted to do :P (but feel free to imagine Uta just not mentioning a few details and the Revs simply being baffled about No Happy Endings/Locker's The End)
~~~
What-If for if, on the tenth anniversary of his death, Uta told the world about her older brother, Sabo, who was killed by a Celestial Dragon, and who wrote a song before he died for his freedom.
Moments of Fear
There are demons, if you know where to look.
(Eastward.
Look eastward.)
-
Or: A series of drabbles for Spooky Month, set in the Sea of Monsters universe, in which everyone from the East Blue is a demon.
as I hold your hollow heart
The Straw Hats pick up Bepo and an unconscious Law after the events at Winner Island. Luffy is more than ready to help him, but when Law opens his eyes, he is a stranger.
Meanwhile, Law wakes up in Dressrosa, with Doflamingo's symbol tattooed on his chest and servants calling him "Corazon".
Family Ties
Garp never knew that having a grandchild could be so life-changing, let alone five of them. Good thing he's a 'D' and loves wreaking havoc just as much as the little gremlins.
[Or: A story about 'D's and honorary 'D's' being part of one big, (mostly) happy family and causing as much chaos as they possibly can.]
Heart and Heat of a Dragon
Every Monkey D, although Dragon knew he was more the D thing and less the Monkey thing, had three practically hereditary traits. Narcolepsy, a demonic appetite, and a sixth sense that beeped every time a soul mate was around. Dragon had five of them.
Long Live the King (for a little while longer)
Various answers to the question: what if Roger lived?
Of Retired Priests and Vacationing Gods
Marco has woken up two hours before before dawn every single day of his life without fail, from a job whose habits remained when the job no longer existed. And then Portgas D Ace, who brims with a familiarity from Marco's past, joins the Whitebeard Pirates.
Or Ace is a old god enjoying his time in the mortal realm and Marco hasn't been a priest in ages why is this happening to him now.
New Voyage
Makino isn't a pirate. She's never been on a boat or off of Dawn Island. She is so very young. But when three little boys need her to be their mother? To take them off the comfort of her home island and out into the unknown of the sea to keep them safe? To keep them together? Well, Makino isn't going to let anyone or anything stand in her way. Not the Marines, not the Yonko, not the nobles, and certainly not the boys themselves.
Renegade Queen
He’s presented to her in the centre of the court.
Rekindling An Ember
It was simply a coincidence that every single laser shot from his prized technique, the Yasakani no Magatama, somehow managed to miss the running freckled man and his little brother. What an incredible luck they must have for such fortunate thing to happen!
He shrugged carefreely in response to the incredulous looks that he got after his little stunt. His justice was an unclear one after all.
Sakazuki freed Portgas D. Ace. He provided cover. Now, what would Kuzan do? What would Sengoku do?
Retired doesn't mean weak
Gol D. Roger survived the illness that should have killed him, once again triumphing where he had no odds of winning. After Roger achieved his goal, he returned to the love of his life to live out his life with only calm days ahead. His son was born and doted on the boy, soon enough gaining two more sons in the coming years. He approved of their dreams and would not get in the way of them.
But he drew the line at executions.
The Marines better be prepared, because the Pirate King is coming, and he won't rest until his son was safe.
Requiem for My Harlequin
"I have a proposal, Sengoku."
"Don't want it."
"A deal, if you will," the pirate continues like there'd been no interruption at all.
 Sengoku's yearly memorial for his son is disrupted by a phone call.
Relationship Help From A Friend
Sengoku confronts Garp about something and Bogard is very confused.
Stained Glass Mirror
Alone in an unfamiliar world, what else is there to do except join a pirate crew?
Sleeper Couch Deception
“Everything okay?” Ace asked, coming up around Deuce’s side and startling him out of his distracted staring at the stupid couch. He pulled his hand away from the cushions and straightened up, speaking before he could stop himself.
“I don’t think it’s a sleeper like the old one,” he said, catching the inside of his cheek between his briefly in a worrying gesture as Ace tilted his head.
“That’s okay, I can sleep on it as is,” he said, though Deuce caught the way he rolled his shoulders briefly.
“We were both shifting around on the dumb thing all night, I doubt it’s gonna be any more comfortable to actually sleep on,” Deuce commented. He should just check if it pulls out into a bed, problem solved in a minute or two tops, but instead… “My bed is big enough. For the both of us, I mean. If you don’t mind sharing, that is.”
Siblings
Garp is in the right place at the right time to rescue Nico Robin from her most recent pirate alliance and makes an offer that will change her life.
(This work was originally posted on ff.net)
sea king prayers
In which the sea is governed by ancient powers and not a single Straw Hat is entirely human.
Speak up, Boys!
“C’mon kids, don't worry too much! You can stay ‘till you’re fully healed!” Beamed another voice, cheery like a child, yet deep like the sea. “You’re welcome to hitch a ride, at least until the next island!”   No way.
“Captain,” The doctor pinched the bridge of his nose, pushing his glasses further up. “You realize you didn’t answer any of their questions, right?”
No no no–
Neither of the men realized that he actually just had. The long, red coat. The matching hat. The mustache. His mere presence in the room told them exactly where – when – they had ended up.
“Wahahahah! Sorry, sorry, Doc’! Boys, welcome on the Oro Jackson, best ship to ever navigate the Grand Line!”
---
Or, the ASL trio ends up 24 years in the past because of a wizard's curse. Ace is out for murder, Sabo decides that brain cells are overrated, and Luffy won't stop singing sea-shanties.
Strangers in Strange Places
Elizabeth Turner née Swann was perfectly happy holidaying in Port Royal with her children or, at least, claimed to be perfectly happy holidaying in Port Royal, ridiculously cumbersome corsets and dresses not withstanding. Well, making the acquaintance of a queer stranger on the streets of the Port should serve to keep her boredom at bay, if nothing else.
(Or: That one in which Law, separated from his travelling companions when they run through a portal after leaving Dressrosa behind, goes on a quest to track down his missing, troublesome not-allies. In his defense, following the rumours of a Pirate King in this strange, alien world seemed to make sense when he started out.)
*** Can be read as a standalone, the situation speaks for itself. The first part follows what happened to Luffy and Zoro when they got separated from the party.
Sword smithing has always just been another type of magic
ONE SHOT "If Mihawk was going to become the world's greatest swordsman, he would need a sword to match. Luckily, he stumbled upon the peculiar green-eyed man named Harii who was the best smith he'd ever met. It started off as threaten-and-irritably-obey, and now it was more like give-and-take (though Mihawk still threatened sometimes)." Collection fic, gen, long, T for swearing. - “I am looking,” he said, placing Kappatsuna Yoru on the table between them, “for the maker of this sword. Perhaps you know something of it.” He narrowed amber eyes at the man. “Hmm.” The man reached out with gentle fingers and picked up the katana. He ran his fingers over the hilt wrappings, then slid the blade out of the sheath minutely. “Kappatsuna Yoru, right?” “How do you know?” Mihawk demanded, eyes narrowing and body tensing. “Well,” the man put the katana back on the table and rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. “It’d be a bit of a bad thing if I didn’t recognize my own work, right?”
Silly Superstitions- Ace
Marco, Ace, and Thatch and silly superstitions onboard the Moby Dick! Featuring Ace in denial of his superstitious ways and the bemused and confused Whitebeard pirates. Just where did Ace learn all of this stuff?! Lucky spiders, giant rabbit's feet and crazy East Blue superstitions ahead!
shouting of merry flowers
Ace has always wanted a friend, so when the secret agents next door leave, not that they were suppose to admit they knew that the neighbors were secret agents, and a new family with two children move in next door, he's excited. Now he just hope that his dad would be able to give him advice on how to make friends that didn't end up with the neighbors hating him.
Sabo isn't sure what to make of the playing card and the murderer next door, but they're certainly more fun then his family.
Sea of Freedom
"Sabo, why didn’t you tell us you have connections!” “I thought you all knew Lucci was part of CP-9?” Sabo asked, tilting his head. “I was talking about – w-wait! What do you mean Lucci is a part of CP-9!?”
Or: Sabo never set sail that faithful day but stayed with his parents. He sets sail at sixteen and has some fun along the way.
Slightly to the Left of the Real Thing
The Last Poneglyph is an activation phrase for Uranus. “A machine that grants only one wish: the wish to turn back time and try again.” Law and Marco are the only two fighters left standing, the only two left alive, and they have to make the hardest choice of their lives.
The Road Not Taken
Kozuki Oden makes a different choice, and asks the Roger Pirates for help in defeating Kaido and Orochi.
A series of one-shots exploring what the world might be like if the Kozuki clan reclaimed power in Wano.
The Coward's Redemption
The liar. The prideful pretender. The coward. Usopp didn't know how much he could change, even when the chance was thrust onto him. He doubted he could correct things with his slingshot and his wits, even with a decade to work with. But, even though he knew he was the weakest, he was still a Straw Hat pirate, and he would damn well try.
That's the Way
Alternatively titled: "In which SITeach tells Canon to go fuck itself."
After much thought and wrestling with plot bunnies, I managed to get this down. Not a bad start if I do say so myself. :) I probably missed some tags, but considering I wrote this all on my phone I'm pretty proud.
(See the end of the work for other works inspired by this one.)
The Red Dog's Weakness
They say there was only one person to ever make Sakazuki falter in his absolute justice moral compass and show kindness in its stead, but that person is now long gone. Except, when he was called into Sabaody to take care of the pirate problem, why is the government's harshest crumbling once again?
The Sharp Knife Of A Short Life
Garp isn't the greatest parent in this world or any other by far, but he does try his best and he does love his boys.
The Envelope
Fourteen years ago on her deathbed Usopp's mother handed him two envelopes, one for himself and the other for his father. With them were explicit instructions, he was not to open his until he was reunited with his father. Now a twist of fate gives Usopp the chance to fulfill his mother's wish, and reconcile with the one person he set out to find.
The Cat Adopted Him
In his defense, the cat adopted him, not the other way around. Aokiji had just been wanting to recover from his fight from Akainu.
The Sudden Whirlwind Romance of Rouge and Roger
Rouge was a practical pirate captain. Kicking but, taking names, and certainly not letting the whirlwind that was Gol D. Roger win her over. Although the chocolates were quite good. As were the flowers. But she would certainly never do anything more than kick his ass and take the treats, Right? AKA. Roger gets his ass kicked, falling head over heels, and how Captain Rouge finds herself getting married.
Written for 2019 OP Valentines.
The Hat Stealer Pirates
Portgas D. Rouge was a strange Captain, mainly because she kept claiming that Brook was going to be the musician of the future Pirate King. Not the one of the first Pirate King, but the one after. For now, he was pretty happy to be part of her crew though and help her on her search for a good hat.
Luffy-less Strawhats
a marine dude called Jenkins puts together that the Strawhats are terrifying badasses even when lacking a captain. Maybe especially when lacking a captain. He wants to cry.
(what follows is the aftermath, proving poor Jenkins right)
The 5 Stages of Grief
There is said to be the 5 stages of grief.
Denial.
Anger.
Bargaining.
Depression.
and Acceptance.
However, we'd like to add one more...
REVENGE
Not allowed
Someone from the real world wakes up one day as Portgas D. Rouge. The thing is, she has no intention to fall in love with Gol D. Roger and birth his child to eventually die.
Well, sometimes we get what we didn’t wish for-
Rouge took a deep breath, her eyes narrowed sharply and she gathered all her confidence and energy to punch directly at Roger's huge nose. She spat angrily, “Stay away from me, you pervert old man!”
“Captain!” Shanks let out a panicked squeal and jumped away from them in fear.
Roger caught his nose and looked dazed as blood trickled down his mustache and mouth. It didn't take long for his lips to tremble into a crazy smile, “I like you! Let's be drinking buddies, Captain of the Hibiscus Pirates, Rouge!”
'Shit' Rouge stared at him with dead eyes, “Shit”
Sunflowers
"Makino-san?” Ace asked, determined, and not taking no for an answer, “I want to get Luffy a skirt.” Makino smiled brightly, “Wonderful idea, Ace!”
Or: What if Monkey D. Luffy was gender fluid?
 This should be on Ao3 only!!
Three Years, Give or Take
"Where are you from?" The crew asks, bustling around Ace as he eats his breakfast. Banana waffles and a side of fruit.
"The future," He cracks a grin at them, and they sigh before moving away again.
They Said It Was Right
Dragon talks to a marine that the Revolutionary Army saved. The man isn't willing to listen at first.
There is no such thing as freedom in a cage of your own making
The wrong person hears the wrong thing at the wrong time, and everything goes to shit. The World Government jumps on this opportunity, eager to use it to their advantage.
Garp won't allow it.
Those Who Favour Fire
The Will of D has never been fully understood, not even by those who have inherited the legacy of the name. Portgas D Ace made an oath to his little brother, and rather than be forsworn Ace accepts a deal from Fate. The Sea is not yet ready to yield him up, and so Ace returns, sent back to where it all began. Alive, and with a baby brother to protect, Ace is not yet sure if he is meant to save the world, or destroy it. All he does know is that come what may... he will hold with those who favour fire.
Ace survives Marineford, but not in the way anyone suspects.
Whitebeard Pirates Guide to Gaslighting the World that Ace is Whitebeard's Biological Son
Ace being the brilliant genius that he is somehow convinces the Whitebeard pirates and others to get everyone to believe that he is Whitebeard's biological son.
The Straw Hats Guide to Gaslighting the World that Luffy is Shanks' Biological Son
After Ace managed to gaslight the world into believing he's the bio son of Whitebeard.
The Straw Hats think that it's their turn and gaslight the world into thinking he's the biological son of Shanks.
Time (To Save Our Lives)
time for me to write a OP time travel AU, apparently!
Seasick
Makino hated the sea, and the sea hated her right back. AU of the world of One Piece where one woman's immense seasickness ripples throughout all of the Blues.
there we were, the three of us (threads of crimson, silver, and gold)
Rouge, Roger, Rayleigh, and the refractions of their relationships: a trifold retrospective
Do it like a Clown
Buggy didn't know how to avoid being caught, until one day he met a delegation from an unknown kingdom on one of the islands. There was a tall lady with long blue hair, that the Marines ignored. Because she was a woman, and she wore traditional closed clothes. With a veil. - Thus, by the age of seventeen, Buggy ended up as a half okama and a baby in his arms. He failed to bury Rouge because a ship with the cursed Garp on board suddenly arrived. Buggy ran, swallowing tears and clutching a warm bundle to his chest. What to do next was completely unclear.
Twin Flames
“What was he like when you were younger?” Jinbe asks, looking strangely intent as he stares at Ace. Ace stares back at him for a moment, before leaning his head back against the cell wall and smiling. Memories of him, Luffy, and Sabo running through the forest flash before his eyes, and nostalgia fills him. The months that the three of them spent together are Ace’s most treasured memories.
He grins, shaking his head and chuckling as he says, “Well, I guess if I’m going to talk about him as a kid, I should talk about my twin first.”
(Or: Ace calls Sabo his twin while in Impel Down and consequences happen.)
To Protect His Smile
Garp receives a strange visitor who sets him on a path that will change the world
Uncharted Time
Instead of, say, Luffy being thrown back in time. Someone, somewhere thought it would be a good idea to send Nami instead. Fantastic! Now how is she supposed to traverse a timeline far before her own? What do you mean she's strong now? What do you mean Roger's still alive? What is she supposed to do now?!
You Know What They Say
Someone is making up all of those cover stories for the Marines to use whenever they commit another violation of the nonexistent Geneva Conventions. What would happen if she decided to be on her own side instead of theirs?
(Or: A stranger from our world is reincarnated as the Marine's one and only Public Relations Officer. It goes a lot differently than you'd expect.)
yes, i do, i love you
"Zoro, Sanji,” Nami finally sees Zoro, on his knees in front of Sanji, “what are you doing?”
“I think Zoro just proposed to Sanji,” Chopper says helpfully.
“What?”
“And they’re planning to marry right here and now.”
“WHAT?”
Your dad is Gold Roger?
Somehow, Luffy doesn't know about Ace's true parentage when he arrives at Marineford. The following revelations and events drive Sengoku crazy. Crack!Fic. Seriously, do not treat seriously.
You Found Me
“I do want to know why you ran away from Bepo. Was he scary?” Law personally considered Bepo the most non-threatening being he’d ever met, but he also knew that a giant polar bear might not have the same effect on a kid who didn’t know him. “Are you stupid? Bepo’s adorable. But he was standing out in the open like an idiot.” The kid’s mouth snapped shut with an audible click like she’d said too much. Law considered this new information. It made sense; the kid had hidden in a small, enclosed area. Somewhere she was protected on all sides.
We All Live In A Fucking Yellow Submarine
The Hearts give the Tang a song. Law is VERY EXASPERATED (but he loves them). Also, How To Annoy The Shit Out Of Doflamingo 101
We Are (Family)
Set in the universe of “They Don’t Know About Us”, a look into the lives of Portgas D. Rouge, Gol D. Roger, Gol D. Shanks, Dracule Mihawk, Portgas D. Ace, and Monkey D. Luffy. A series of different moments, missing scenes, and alternate realities, etc.
Won't You Send me a Flower, Send me a Secret
Makino told them that flowers could have meanings. Ace scoffed, Sabo was curious and Luffy, Luffy had begged Makino to teach him the secret mystery language.
Or ASL learns flower language as kids and still use it to send coded messages to each other when they set out to sea.
White Fire
This is the fic where I destroy the timeline; Luffy and his crew are about to leave Wano when they see Ace's execution as the top story in the newspaper.
As a warning: this fic is made up of pirates, a limited amount of bizarre scenes featuring a god, and some tears from traumatized Marines.
Where'd All the Time Go?
Sometime before Luffy becomes King of the Pirates, The Straw Hats end up on an island with Shanks and his crew. Of course, a party ensues, but when Shanks asks Zoro a simple question, both crews are eager to know the answer.
A telling of how Zoro joined the crew and the circumstances surrounding it.
Will (yourself) to Live
The first time Zoro dies, he stands right back up, picks his heart up from where it was thrown on the ground, and pushes it back into the hole in his chest.
Dying is not an option for Zoro. He has to see his captain crowned King of the Pirates, after all.
Or: the straw-hats have mastered stubbornness to an art, and not even Death will stand in their way to the one piece.
Wisteria's Ocean
Tricksters survive where brawlers cannot.
For the first nine years of her life, Fuji lives in Wano, and where she may have once learned to fight, here, she learns to survive. It's the only option, after all -- either she learns to survive, or she doesn't.
And then, she escapes. She leaves the locked down country, runs into a red-and-white-haired girl with a hopeful heart and a whole crew of pirates. In Wano, Fuji learned to survive, but here?
She will learn freedom, and she will learn to live.
wish by spirit and if by yes
Mostly, Sabo likes his job, even when it means trying to chase down pirates like Whitebeard in the New World to discuss important Army affairs. Okay, maybe especially then.
Reunion AU where Sabo's a little shit, everyone’s happy, and yet some stuff still hurts.
Wildfire Hearts
Only from fire can fire be made.
Many times in his life, Portgas D. Ace has watched his world burn. This time he has the chance to build something new, something better, from the ashes of his past failures.
Flung from the searing heat of Akainu's deathblow to the raging inferno that had stolen Sabo's life, Ace is determined to change his past. Even if it means raising his younger self to be proud of his lineage, Ace will never let Luffy suffer through Marineford again.
Portgas D. Ace stages a riot against the future, and the wildfire he sets will consume the world.
This Time It'll be Different
“Congratulations, Rouge!” a distant voice cried out.
“It's a healthy baby boy!”
There was a sound of sobbing coming from somewhere in the room, but no one was crying. ‘Where am I?’
“Ace,” a soft voice reached out.
'Ace' looked up in confusion only to see large brown eyes seeming to nearly shine in his direction.
“Gol D. Ace, my beautiful baby boy.” Suddenly the crying stopped.
‘…What’
Strawhat A Warlord? In This Economy? (It's More Likely Than You Think)
Following the disaster at Enies Lobby, the World Government takes a leap of insanity and invites Luffy to join the Warlords. Surprisingly, Luffy accepts, but this may just turn out to be a worse decision than hunting him down like a regular pirate. After all, those 'D's cause storms where ever they go.
Same Song, Different Verse
"That's the thing about nakama. It means you never have to say goodbye or be alone."
In which Monkey D. Lucy, future Pirate King, and Roronoa Zoro, future World's Greatest Swordsman, are dumb and everyone else is long-suffering. Also, there's this crazy adventure and all that.
Or:
Things with them are always do or die, and love is just the same.
Flashy Brotherhood
Buggy stops at a bar in East Blue and there’s this angry looking kid asking about the Captain. Asking what would have happened if the Captain had a kid. And everyone starts laughing like the idea is ridiculous. Like Roger hadn’t taken in two street rats and given them a home.
Treasures for a Treasure (pearls pale in your eyes)
Monkey D. Luffy has pearls in his hair.
This changes more than you would think.
of pop greens and tangerines.
After the world went to hell, Usopp and Nami find themselves just a few years before they meet Luffy again. This time, they're not going to be the cowards of the crew. They're going to save themselves, and they might as well drive everyone absolutely insane while they do it.
An expansively written time travel fanfic featuring a Blind Usopp, Metal Arm Nami, and two others.
 Current Arc: Enies Lobby.
Mnemosyne
She doesn’t remember her life before the human market, or before Amazon Lily. The only clues she has is her name, and the silver anchor around her neck.
And that her daughter has red hair.
I'll tell you a tale of the Pirate Queen
Many years have passed since that dreaded ship has sailed the seas. Decades slipped away, washing the memories along with time. None now remember to keep an eye on their horizons, scanning for the site of the bow that could break empires apart. The keel that split the oceans, the twisted form of a siren along her beak, the figure of her Captain, wild hair and wilder eyes; a sight that chilled the hearts of all who saw it.
This world took a beauty, twisted her to a tyrant, then buried her and her kingdom so that none would speak her name. It must be unfortunate for them; her Duchess and her Prince survived. Now they will carry her legacy forward, and remind those Marines exactly who ruled the ocean. Roger may have held the crown, but even he bowed for her.
Watch what you say Marines, Portgas D. Rouge isn't going to disappear because you asked her too.
Smiling Seas
Latest Anime Spoilers!
“Shishishi, silly Ace! It’s mom’s job to control the sea!” Luffy spread his arms out, the sun beaming down on him and lighting his figure up in a golden sheen. “Besides, I belong in the sky!”
Or
Shanks accidentally adopted a god.
The Return Of Joyboy!
"What do you mean by 'Nika'?" Sabo further asked. Luffy groggily opened his eyes, and spoke, "Did someone call me?" Garp frowned at that.
"Luffy, your name is Luffy, not that!!!" He said with anger. Luffy who sat up now glared at Garp before frowning, "But why do I need to hide my real name?!!!" He asked and crossed his arms on his chest. "I don't understand at all!!"
"Your real name is Nika?" Ace asked to which Luffy nodded happily. Garp scratched his head in worry.
"Fine!" Garp said, "Listen to me!" Luffy looked at Garp and the others even did the same. "If the marines ever come to know about your real name, and if by any chance the World Government came to know about your existence they will kill you in spot."
"Why will they kill coz of my name?" Luffy frowned but soon burst out laughing, "And do you think," Luffy's eyes flickered to golden, "they can kill me?" Luffy started laughing hard, his one hand on his stomach and the other on his eyes.
Tidal Waves Incarnate
“Ace,” Garp starts firmly. “What exactly do you think you’re doing here? You can’t save Luffy.”
The brat flinches as if Garp just punched him with real intent; Garp refuses to feel bad.
Ace is sixteen, has never left Dawn Island, and never fought anyone near the caliber of the Grand Line, let alone the New World. And he is alone. Just one boy all by himself. What could he do?
Luffy, on the other hand, has a whole crew behind him, and friends and allies and Dragon to help.
Marineford will be a war zone and Ace has no business being in the middle of that.
________________
Like his brother before him, Ace was supposed to set sail at 17. But shortly before that, Strawhat Luffy's impending execution is announced. What was Ace supposed to do? Sit idly on Dawn Island and trust others to save his brother?
Again? Again.
After a fight she barely remembers, Nami wakes up in a jungle she's never been in before. Her confusion doesn't get any lessened when she runs into three young boys, one of which is definitely a smaller version of her captain.
She needs to get back to her own time, her own adventure. The crew will die without her for sure. But until she can figure out how to do that, she might as well hang out and make sure these insane kids don't die, which might be harder than she initially thinks.
And something about all this just feels weird...
