2 acts down, 1 more act to go for Tristan and Isolde. After I am done and have consumed the TVTropes page and all the fanfics that strike my fancy, I never wanna listen to this opera ever again. At least for the moment.

Got myself a Black Friday discount Criterion Channel subscription and one of my resolutions is to watch one movie a day for the next year. Made a Letterboxd account to log them and also keep a running future watchlist. Today's pick: The Age of Innocence (1993).

All i can say is--City still hasn't beaten us in quite some time. They looked like total fools today, needing a 12th man to draw with a 10 man team and only at the VERY last second of a long stoppage time (as always! you know something shady will happen when we get a stoppage time over 4 min.) I'm not sure if we could have done this a few years ago. We were such a unit in that 2nd half with all 10 defending. I'm not really a strategy scholar but you could see it--everyone played to their strengths and everyone trusted and believed in each other and the team. I didn't really see anyone giving up.
My biggest criticism of arsenal of a couple years back (my 22-23 dream team even) was that aside from a couple individuals we weren't yet mentality monsters. We believed but got stressed and overwhelmed easily. I don't see that anymore. Today I saw the mentality for way over 90 minutes. I love them and I'm so proud and I sincerely believe if we don't win the league soon it's due to the corruption. Again, 12 man city at home couldn't beat 10 man arsenal with a 17 year old sub (love you MLS) and ødegaard injured. I know this probably won't mean anything in the league table in April barring a miracle but it means a lot to me and probably to a lot of goonerinas.
Also...Raya.

i was (once again) at the match yesterday and here are my thoughts on how much our starting players ate:
martin was like a feral animal, i’m surprised his legs didn’t fall off: ate
emile should change his number to 10-2 because he ATE
everyone should stop sending high balls to leo he is tiny and has never won a header in his life (still ate though)
ben did a sexy lil spinny thingy to set up a shot: ate but in a sexy casual way
kai’s off the ball positioning and runs are so so fabulous i need raya to boot the ball up to him every second please: very tall ate
gabi and willo cleaning up certain players messy passes: devoured
reiss was there to be sexy and get goals robbed from him: ate and robbed
raya spent the whole first half sexy and bored: invisible ate
bonus:
the fans giving emile a standing ovation and singing the saka and emile smith-rowe chant: ATE, alexa play ‘let’s hear it for the boy’
conclusion: the second half could have been an email

An honest review of Raya and The Last Dragon
Plot-wise, it was well done. Sure, there were some cliche tropes that my autistic pattern recognition skills could spot a mile away, but the plot flowed smoothly with no noticeable holes. Things did move very quickly, but it's a kids' movie. It's not supposed to drag on.
Character development? Well done. Each character had a very realistic personality and set of motivations.
Character design? Really good when it comes to human designs. It's the perfect blend of cartoonish and realistic. Also I like the outfits. The dragons on the other hand look like My Little Pony heads slapped onto very graceful dragon bodies. I had to laugh at the moment when Sisu roars at Namaari. That did not look one bit menacing.
Worldbuilding? Beautiful. I'm no expert on Southeast Asian culture and architecture by any means, so I'm not sure how much research the team actually did. And I am a little iffy about Disney creating yet another fictional world based on a conglomeration of several real cultures like they did with Moana instead of just having the movie take place in a real-world location, but hey, nothing about it seemed offensive on the surface. Southeast Asians, please elaborate for me in the comments: how was the worldbuilding?
Music? Same deal. See above. It did sound pretty, but again, I know nothing about the culture.

I watched Inside out 2. Here are some thoughts (maybe a spoiler free review but not really)
So much secondhand embarrassment it's insane. I almost couldn't watch certain parts of the movie :')
Riley's thoughts and emotions (not the characters) hit pretty close home, especially in the end.
The plot was ok, just like in the first movie in a way, but bigger.
The movie had the same problem a lot (if not all) sequels do; it was a bit too much. I mean, it was intense. And that's not bad but I don't think it's a movie with very high rewatchability (spiderman across the spider verse is the same to me).
Riley should go to therapy actually.
It was actually a pretty solid movie, I don't regret going to the cinema (except there were so many teens and wouldn't respect that when you go to the cinema you have to sit there quietly. Ruined the vibe of the sad part of the movie because they were laughing?) I would recommend it 👍 if you liked the first movie do give it a try.

Damn, I love when singers dance a little bit while singing ensembles in (usually comic) bel canto operas.

Too depressed to eat more than string cheese or sit all the way up in bed. You know what that means. Time to marathon another BBC miniseries based on a 19th-century novel
