"you could say we have a certain understanding of each other. as to what that understanding pertains to... well, that’s something that should be kept between two people, no? salem can be quite curt, euphemistically speaking. but provided you manage to strike a proper conversation with him, he also proves to be an incredibly intelligent mage. i'm certain many of our teachers would agree that his talent is unparalleled. and if you promise to keep this between us... he can actually be rather caring, hehe. nevertheless, he’s been of great assistance, both personally and professionally. those who run errands for the shop rarely stay, but his long-term services have meant i no longer have to make as many rounds as i used to.”

"in a school like this, it’s hard to find someone agreeable. many of the students here are far too rambunctious, and few bear the respect that is due. i can’t say i care for children who forget their manners. to some extent however, rosid is excusable. she conducts herself appropriately with etiquette befitting to that of a lady, keeping her sufficiently beyond reproach - as long as we ignore that sharp tongue of hers. but on the rare occasion, the riposte isn’t half bad. i can acknowledge the bravery. perhaps her boldness is why we can associate with each other. should i ever have to partner with someone, it would be much less insufferable to engage with her over anyone else.”

"that pipsqueak... what was her name again?... roseweed? haaah... not that it matters. she's kind of a nuisance. when i first met her, i thought she was tolerable. she seemed quiet enough, minding her own business regarding her plants and whatnot. some students found her interests strange, but i'm not really one to have an opinion on that. what i do have an opinion on is how she attacks me unprovoked. the other day, we ran into each other in the hallway. i was in a hurry, so i could only apologise quickly before going. i’ve found my oil paints on the floor and my brushes destroyed since then... and yet, she feigns innocence every time even though she’s always in the vicinity. it’s even worse that she somehow gets along with cherise. i can't seem to go a single day without being put on blast by either of them now."

"hmmm... talus wasn't always my dorm leader. but he's the one i like the most. you see, before he came here, i was about six feet underground from a liiiittle mishap. he was the one who woke me up. i'm grateful for that. every day is never boring with talus. before, it was always halloween today, halloween tomorrow and theeeen... yep. you guessed it. halloween the day after. i got over the spooky festivities aaaages ago. but now, some days we have tea parties, and he even told me the other day we might be having an underwater paradise soon...! i honestly can't wait for it to begin. ray, don't you agree? hehe. of course you do. i do feel a little bad for solomon sometimes, though..."
