Rey and Kylo are going to take the term 'power couple' to a next level.

Thankfully L seemed to understand that this was all new and strange to her. She wasn't used to floors moving unless they were collapsing under her. And flying wasn't a big thing she did often outside her suit. She was vulnerable and squishy outside the skin of metal she'd created over the years. Not to mention she always felt alone and terrified when she couldn't see.

Rubbing at her side where the worst of her scars was she winced. "Yea maybe I'll head ovah there soon. There weren't much in the way of supplies or sterile equipment back where I was at. Got lucky if I wasn't covered in gunk half the time I was stitchin myself back togetha. I could really use a doc ta look me ovah and rework my wiring." She trailed off when he suggested her usung her star to heal. Frowning she seemed confused by that.

"My star powahs my tech an keeps me alive. Nevah been able ta heal my own wounds before. I got a bleedin condition an some fucked up genetics that it's prolly always workin on stabilizing." She looked away and rubbed at her side again. The shirt was damp with the fluids leaking from her wounds and she instantly felt bad for ruining such nice new clothes.

"My star is as young as I am so we don't really eitha know much a anythin." She admitted after a moment. Maybe that's why she always glowed so bright and blew so many circuits. If neither of them knew their limits then how could they do much of anything? Shaking her head a bit she tore her thoughts away from her worry and focused more on L again. He'd know more about all of this and maybe might help her if she asked.

"Pay yer own way?" She asked curiously. That sounded omnious as all fuck and she wondered if he was under some kind of raw deal from a contract. Carefully she moved when he motioned to her. Walking around the desk to the chair she eased herself down into it and looked at the food before her. It was actual food and not raw flesh and stale murky water. Eyes widening a bit she had to touch the can to prove it was actually real.

Popping open the can of what smelled like mountain dew but bubbled like a thick syrup she took a drink and wanted to cry. "Fuck I haven't had one a these in ovah a decade. How does this place jus know what we want an need? Is it a star thin? Like is it feedin off our energy ta make all this?" Taking another drink she looked as if she'd been starved from both food and human contact for far longer than any humanoid being should be.

Popping open the snacks she practically inhaled them. Cheeks puffed out with food she ate as if it were about to run away from her. Once the packages were empty she calmed down and just sipped at her drink again. "Well I dunno bout the otha stars but mine don't wanna hurt ya. Maybe talk yer ear off an poke at cha but nothin harmful. An if the otha stars are that up their own ass then I'm glad I've nevah met em. Can kiss my ass fer all I care." She huffed before wincing and holding her side again. She might just be a little more wounded than she'd been letting on this whole time.

The wound in question was from when she'd been torn in half earlier that month. Her stitching half hazardly held her together but it was mostly infected and swollen from her poor attempts at fixing herself. The skin and muscle pulled away from the wire holding her together and her flesh was turning a bit green despite her best efforts to keep herself healed up.

Izzy didn't know where she was or how she'd exactly gotten here. One moment she'd been fighting the hive mind and the next a flash of blinding lavender light had seemed to swallow her up.

Stumbling along the streets in her suit she looked horribly out of place and people were starting to talk about how she was covered in blood and gore. Not wanting to keep standing out she ducked into an alley and tried to get her bearings. Pulling up her display she tried to figure out where she was. This just didn't make sense. How could this world be so alive? Was this some trick from the beast to lower her guard.

When she realized that the air was breathable she retracted her helmet and took a deep breath. Coughing a bit she spat up some blood and sighed. "What the fuck have I fallen inta now?"

So this must be near the end of the film, right??? The bruise on her forehead is there and stuff's looking intense holy shit

My first thought was that she was reaching for someone who's falling or being blown away (because presumably she's on a ship in space that's been heavily damaged???) á la this ↓

But then I notice the sparks falling behind her and I just…

You see, ever since the trailer dropped I've been wanting to see Rey's raw powah™ manifesting in a truly, devastatingly frightening way (sorta like Jean Grey's dark phoenix powers?).

Maybe this is that kind of scene??? Maybe this is where Rey realizes that Luke's fear of her powers was sort of justified??? That she may indeed be a monster and a threat??? Maybe right after this moment, when Rey is shook and full of self-doubt Kylo comes to her and offers his hand??? Tells her that he's not afraid of her????

Why Rey is a Palpatine

SPOILER WARNING! Some of these reflections are based on possible spoilers I have read and are also a good shot at speculation. 

I think there are many elements that make this theory interesting, not only for the storyline but for the future of the Sequel Trilogy, and why it should end with episode IX, so here it goes : After searching the internet for two years, reading and analyzing very different types of theories, speculations and reddit stuff, I am coming to the conclusion that Rey comes from the Palpatine line. She would then be his grand-daughter and her parents are going to come from the dark side, I place my bet on stormtroopers. 

1) On a storyboard level, you have to look macro at the whole three trilogies. They is going to be a mirror effect.

The PT was about a light Skywalker falling to the Dark Side because of love, and because of the manipulations of a Palpatine.

The ST is about a dark Skywalker being redeemed to the Light thanks to the love of a Palpatine. (by love, i mean not necessarily romantic)

Together in the PT : they introduce mayhem to the galaxy

Together in the ST : they restore peace in the galaxy (final episode)

Why do I think this? It was Lucas’s first idea that the ST should be a mirror of the PT, so maybe the kept the general idea. It also ties the three trilogies together in an interesting fashion. 

2) We then have mirroring effects and parallels of ST with the PT/ Kylo and Rey. Let’s pay attention to symbolism. 

Kylo Ren/Ben Solo, the Skywalker of the trilogy. Comes from the Light, falls to the Dark Side. He is first introduced with a very Darth Vaderesque look. He starts where Vader finishes : brutal, murderous, and he wears a mask that also distorts his voice. This is the reverse of Anakin which we see first as an innocent child, who is a slave, but is Light. 

Rey, the Palpatine of the trilogy, comes from Darkness but starts as a reverse of Sheev : an innocent and beautiful person. She is the Light. She wears a whitish costume when she is first introduced. 

Anakin Skywalker and Sheev Palpatine are both the strongest force wielders in the PT. Kylo Ren and Rey are the strongest RAW powah™ in the ST. (Even Luke is scared shitless.)

They are set as equals, incarnations of two opposite principles (ying/yang)

3)  They will meet in the middle. 

In order to restore peace, they necessarily need to meet in the middle, as they are set as opponents in the beginning. This is why I think they share so much : loneliness, a feeling of longing, a feeling a abandonment, a sense that they are looking for their own destiny. Both need each other in order to find themselves but the other will also trigger their own opposite side: 

Rey could go further down the dark side giving in to anger, her sense of abandonment but also passion. Passion can be a very destructive feeling. We already see her with anger in TFA when she beats Kylo. That will be full fledged in TLJ. Hate/Passion go together...

Kylo can go towards his light side giving in to his compassion for her. Kylo is said to be the incarnation of both principles, and his light side bubbles up all the time. He has a soft spot for Rey, and offers to teach her. 

This leads me to better understand how and why they have to become grayish. 

4) Rey in spanish means KING (come on, is that totally casual?) It’s more understandable if we see she is the heir to the throne of the Empire. (Princess rey *cough* prince Kylo *cough*)

If indeed Rey turns out to be a Palpatine, I am pretty sure that the trilogy will end on their union, whatever that is (romantic, or not), and restore peace in the galaxy, going beyond Light and Darkness. This is why Reylo is so important in the end. It doesn’t matter if it’s romantic or not. It’s their union and their symbolic importance for the galaxy that matters. 

Episode 7 : Ennemies

Episode 8 : They meet in the middle. Darkness rises and light to meet it.

Episode 9 : Friends (lovers, friends, whatever, but unified for the greater good!) Consolidation of Grey. 

(If they do take the trilogy on a romantic level it’s going to be a heck of a soap opera!!)

And Finally 

5) Sheev Palpatine thought Jakku was a special place. He even built a laboratory there in the Aftermath series. And, of course, who shows up specifically on THIS planet?

In today’s episode we discuss the second TLJ behind the scenes reel. We know we’re not the only ones who weren’t impressed by its total lack of Kylo Ren awesomeness.

The Kylo-lessness of the BTS2 reel made for some salt-fueled speculation in today’s installment:

What could Luke have said to Rey that would make her angry enough to beat him with her stick? 

Was it an ill-timed yo mama diss something pertaining to her family/origins? Could it have something to do with one nefarious nephew? 🤔

Are the scenes below all connected?

Does it mean that RUKE is confirmed Luke is withholding Force knowledge from Rey, making her resentment towards him all the greater? (Spoiler alert: probably, duh.) 

If so, Luke is a hot mess of a teacher. Luckily we know someone who is available to tutor Rey. 

A question for Poe:   

We  speculate as to what would earn Poe Dameron 27 slaps.

We share thoughts on the “ReyPoe confirmed” talk that popped up after a screenshot of the actors laughing between takes made the rounds. 

In other news, haters be hatin’: Lee and Willow make no secret of the fact that they don’t care for ReyPoe one bit - but since they are not ding dongs, they ship and let ship. You hear that, Anne?  

Meanwhile, LF must have sensed a disturbance in the Force, because they have since released an amaaaazing and incredible behind the scenes training featurette in which Adam Driver actually speaks. 🙌

Still no scenes of Kylo and Rey together, though we keep hearing their raw powah, oh so thin boundaries and powerful connection are at the heart of the movie. Now what can that mean??

How much of a Skywalker is Rey not going to be?

On a scale from 1 to 10? 66 not a Skywalker.

If there’s romance, do you think we’ll get the first hints of it in TLJ or the next episode?

I definitely foresee heavy / in your face foreshadowing and symbolism but I don’t think they’ll French kiss in TLJ, unless Rey or Kylo have a vision of the future. Not that I complain if their tongues battle for dominance.

We’ve been given hints that what Leia does in TLJ will be significant. What do you think she’ll be up to in TLJ?

I think that in ep. 8 she will be instrumental in Kylo’s character development. Which is a bit sad in the sense that her personal journey will once again be sacrificed to the narrative of someone else. I have a feeling that ep. 9 was going to -finally- be about her as a character and a leader and unfortunately we won’t see that.

How do you think the passing of space mom Carrie in episode IX will be handled?

I’m really not sure tbh. No solution that I can think of is a good solution. Killing her off-screen is the most painless way to do it but it’s not satisfying.

We’ve seen Rey train with Luke in the trailer. What will convince him to do it despite having seen her raw powah?

He’s bored and the narrative commands it. But in all seriousness, I’m not sure he’s going to train her per say. More like test her? Also, they’re right next to a bloody force tree so the Force will guide some (if not all) of their actions.

Will Phasma end up in the trash compactor again?

She’s going to lose a limb or two and it will be revealed that she’s Luke’s long-lost daughter (because of missing limbs, screw canon information about her origins, who has time to read that shit, eh?).

Will Snux (hux/snoke) be a thing? (I had to ask because the ship name is too cute.)

Eww, Maker have mercy on our souls! No!  I’m okay with Phux, but anything with Snoke is off-limits. 

Do you think we’ll ever get to see Kylo’s hair restored to it’s former glory?

Sure, look at the difference between Superman and Superman on drugs affected by red kryptonite. I mean, hair and facial hair are a strong indicator of a character’s mental state. So yeah, episode 9 will be “Return of the FORCE FLUFF”. 

The premiere is in a few weeks? On a scale from 0 to over 9000 how hard is the wait going to be?

Harder than I thought it would be. There are times where I feel that the future of my mental health depends entirely on TLJ, which is crazy and scary because it’s just a freaking movie. It’s not that deep.

Personally I think we would all die if we see a shirtless Kylo ren in the last Jedi. Would it be wrong if we all try to get a pic of that haha. I'm excited to see reylo scenes and see how they go from wanting to fight to having a convo not involving light sabers. Snarky sarcastic comments will make me happy. If rey sees how Ben turned into Kylo ren I have a feeeling it will be heartbreaking

Sorry for the late reply, I was making and eating dinner with the hubby for I am a domestic goddess™.

Regarding shirtless Kylo: While I will certainly not be unhappy with a shirtless Kylo scene, I kind of hope they don’t do it unless it’s important for character growth or relevant to the plot. One of my pet peeves in film is the gratuitous shower scene which serves no purpose but to show us that the guy (or girl, or enby) has a slammin’ bod.

Like, we all know it’s really fanservice anyway, but I like for it to at least be a little classy and a little relevant. If, for example, he were dressing wounds that were given to him by one of the other characters, and it showcased some vulnerability, that might be a good way to go. I mean, I won’t complain if we do get a more gratuitous scene, because Adam Driver is gorgeous. But from a storytelling perspective, I personally prefer if nudity or partial nudity is actually relevant to the film and not solely for the sake of a thirsty audience.

“Would it be wrong if we all try to get a pic of that haha”. This is actually an interesting question. Considering Adam is an actor, and he consents to showing himself on film in varying degrees of undress (like in the TV show Girls), then I’d say it’s okay for fans to take screenshots of it. The same goes for modeling photos. However, if it were a photo taken by paparazzi without Adam’s consent, I think it would be wrong for fans to circulate or seek to obtain a copy of said photo. Unless the actor (Adam in this scenario) came out and said they were okay with it, I think photos of a revealing nature taken without consent should be respectfully left alone. It’s like the difference between your girlfriend sending you a raunchy picture, and you taking one while she’s sleeping. Just because she said okay to one does not mean carte blanche to the other.

I’m excited to see Reylo, too. And not even necessarily in a romantic sense. I love these two characters, and I think they have an interesting dynamic. Kylo is clearly fascinated by Rey, and this whole “raw powah” thing is going to make for some interesting parallels.

I absolutely agree that if Rey gets any flashbacks of Ben Solo, they will be sad. It’s obviously part of selling the redemption story to the audience. If the hero sympathizes with him, so will we.

Driver's quote from the EW article on Rey and Kylo: “I think that there is something familiar there, as well as something to be feared, or something…that he can’t quite place.” That sure sounds like they're related to me.

I was all 👀 👀👀at that too, but it could also be that they share the same RAW POWAH or some BS like that.
