She often underestimated their strength, usually when Eivor could so easily lift her. A yelp of surprise left her lips as the Vikingr lifted her in their strong capable arms, the Keeper stunned for a moment, looking ridiculous as if she were all limbs in their arms.
"Does it satisfy you to humble me so, Eivor?"

Jarlskona’s Mate
An au where Desmond Miles is married off to Eivor Varinsdottir by his father William Miles after he discovered she and her clan were alive again in the modern day. Many do not like the arrangement but see Eivor’s wisdom in agreeing to the arrangement to save an innocent life.
So I was curious to see how you would go about this idea. I know where I want to go but the muse ain't singing right now. The settlement occupants have all their memories from their original lifetime. And they refer to Basim as HIM.
Desmond would have just turned 16 and has that fresh scar.
I mean, you can totally do this in Eivor’s time and make this a flatout political marriage between Eivor under Sigurd’s orders and Desmond, the son of the mentor of what remains of England’s Hidden Ones.
In a modern day setting though, maybe Eivor was living in an isolated community until the Great Purge reached their home. Only a few of them managed to survived and those people are the ones who used to lived in Ravensthrope and that’s the day they start remembering their past lives.
Hytham is the one who suggested they try and find the Hidden Ones because there’s no way the Hidden Ones wouldn’t exist in this time, especially with his theory that Abstergo might be connected to the Order of the Ancient.
They realized that it may be a bit more complicated (or simpler, depending on who they ask) after the attack because they managed to take one alive who spilled the beans that they were attacked because they were connected to the Assassin Brotherhood and that they were Templars. He didn’t even know what the hell the Order of the Ancients is.
Eivor ends up traveling to try and figure more stuff because, if they are connected to the Brotherhood, then there’s a high possibility they would be allies.
This leads her to William Miles who is barely holding it together because the Great Purge is in full swing. Eivor decided to help them because they were better off as allies and Hytham confirmed that there were too many similarities between the Hidden Ones and the Brotherhood for them to be dismissed as a coincidence.
Bill didn’t trust them though since he doesn’t buy into all this Hidden Ones nonsense but an ally was greatly appreciated.
This leads to Eivor teaming up with Bill’s wife and they did not get along at all.
She thinks Eivor is too violent.
Eivor thinks she’s too cold.
Hytham was there to keep the two of them from actually trying to kill one another after every mission.
In the end, they were able to save more than they would have been able to had Eivor and her clan not helped.
An alliance was formed during those darkest of times and the Great Purge died down 3 years after the initial attack.
Everything was still in shambles and, really, the Brotherhood wasn’t in any real position to do anything more than poke at Abstergo.
Eivor’s clan, on the other hand, could turn into a good spec ops team if they were given proper gear and training.
And that’s where a kind of ‘exchange’ happened.
As a promise to help Eivor’s clan with supplies that they could use to fuck Abstergo up, Eivor would be taking on his son as her husband.
Everyone knows that it wasn’t exactly a political marriage or anything.
Desmond Miles was being given as a hostage to show that the Brotherhood wasn’t going to go against their promise.
But the thing is…
Eivor received a letter from Desmond’s mother a day before she was to meet her child groom.
She had been the one to suggest Desmond be given to Eivor because she learned her son was planning to try and escape the Brotherhood.
So he was sent to Ravensthrope to be a hostage…
But Eivor had a feeling this was a compromise his mother made to get him out of the Farm without endangering him.
Well…
She wasn’t exactly thrilled to have a child husband.
She’d talk to him and try to befriend him then go from there.

A storm was raging outside, the sound of the thunder even made Randvi twitch a bit. A rather nasty storm had blown in sometime after early evening - leaving many of the folk in town uneasy. Chewing on her bottom lip, while leaning against the entrance door frame. Her gaze took in the sights of dark gray clouds, which shifted between deep ebony - lighting flashed above once more. Another twitch and her teeth sank more into her bottom lip, sucking on the flesh a bit. Her arms were currently crossed, fingers digging into the furs on her night shirt. “ Eivor, “ mused the woman quietly, the other had gone out on a raiding and yet to return. Worry was an unwelcome issue - which was currently clawing at her mind, making her stomach knot something nasty.
Shaking her head a bit slowly, as she tried to relax herself. The other woman was a strong warrior, and would come home to her. This silly worry would need to leave, but no matter how she thought of this. It clawed and ripped at her mind, leaving her exhaling shakily. “ Dammit, “ cursed the woman quietly once more. Before she shoved herself off the door, heading out into the storm. Less than a couple moments later she was soaked and heading to the dock. She’d wait there - health be damned at the moment. She had to see if the other was okay and home safely.
Less than an hour later - she saw the boats coming back, and her lover standing tall. Smiling slowly in relief long since needed, as she raised her hand so she could wave. Shivering some as she sniffled quietly. Well… dammit.
Eivor had tried to get the longboat back before the storm, she watched it coming over the horizon; dark clouds foreboding and threatening a dark evening into the morning hours no doubt. Yet no matter how quickly they moved after the raid; packing up the gold and silver, food and supplies to increase the town of Ravensthrope; the storm hit them. Thundering booms of Thor's hammer echoed in the air and flashing of lightning rippled through the air. "We're almost home, crew. Stay clear of the mast, in case Thor's lightning hits the wood," Eivor echoed as the crew kept to the side, and Eivor held onto the edge, keeping an eye forward.
after an hour, there was finally a view of the town. "Home!" Eivor shouted as the crew cheered. The longships moved up toward the docks and Eivor realized there was someone else waiting there. "Randvi," Eivor shouted past the booming thunder that hit in a rumble and she climbed onto the deck while the longboat was tied up. "Unload the gear, quickly. Do not worry about much else, take it to the drengr house; we'll sort it out tomorrow," Eivor said, waving her hands and getting them to move quickly.
"Randvi, come, let's get you out of the rain," Eivor encourage, guiding her back to the longhouse where she would be warm once more. "You should have stayed inside, it's too cold and wet to be out here," Even Eivor was ready to get out of her cold gear; she hated to be as soaked as this. Her body always went on edge like a cat running through the rain. Once inside, she grabbed the doors and pulled them shut, and looked back to Randvi as she placed her hands on her shoulders. "Come, my love, let's both get out of these wet clothes and get warm once more," -- [ @thecs ]

Kassandra smiled to herself hearing him speak on Egypt's history and fringe societies. Two things she has very first-hand experience with. More than most, she'd be willing to venture. "Have you ever been to Egypt yourself? I went once, years ago, stood where the Library of Alexandria once stood. There's so much history there, a beautiful place." Kassandra chuckled, "I wonder who, among the three of us, is the most well-traveled?"
The smile faltered for a moment. Oh, how her heart missed Ravensthrope and longed to return to that time. "I was with them for a little while, a year or so. I think I learned how to handle my mead better, and they taught me how to throw an axe. But I learned their prayers and their festivals. I think I took their work ethos to heart, for certain. They are a hearty people." While she had never been religious, a part of her was envious of their faith, the truth weighed on her for centuries. It could never be unlearned.
. He thought on the library for a moment, sighing as he tried to think of the most interesting ones. "We've collected quite a few about Egyptian archeology and lawmaking, I have a few tomes that cover medicinal plant uses by some fringe societies, and I've made a section for fiction, if you enjoy those types. My copiest is a fantastic man who almost does more traveling than me!"
He stretched again as he listened, shaking out his legs a few times. "Ah! Quite lucky, then. I imagine they allowed for a great deal of experiences. How long were you with them? Any practices you took into your daily life?" Perhaps he could be too hard on the faithful. In a way, his work had become his religion, fanatical in his desire to spread the notion of the Observers. But his belief was in a world without war, not a world that bent to his rule based on the supposed presence of a deity.

Those Saxons would have said they were right, that the Norse and their tanned companion were nothing more than barbaric brutes, uncultured and lacking the guidance of God were they still alive to witness this. But they weren't, their ambush had been for naught, cut down with spectacular ease by the Vikingr and the Misthios. And amid the fighting and blood and adrenaline, when the smoke had settled and the haze had barely lifted, when all other foes were dead, the two found themselves entangled with one another. Heated kisses and desperate hands clawing at each other's armor, or at least for the parts that were most in the way.
It didn't take long at all for Kassandra to have Eivor on their back, tunic pulled up so one hand could fondle their breast while the other was buried in their trousers. Her lips were crushing as she kissed them with all the want the world could afford, her fingers dipping in between their folds and working them up. All of this while the dead Saxons lay barely twenty feet away. They couldn't help it, they both admired each other while they fought, and Kassandra knew that Eivor had similar thoughts to her as they dispatched the last of the Saxons, their eyes only having to meet briefly before they met with one another so abruptly. It wasn't the first time they had done this, it wouldn't be the last. And as Kassandra moves to lay partially on top of her love, all she can think about is drawing out those cries of desperation as she gets them to the edge of pleasure.

DesmondxHytham???
@fanworldbuildingfun and I had this idea where Desmond gets kicked into AC Valhalla’s timeline and he builds his own Brotherhood because he thought the Assassins didn’t exist by this time and it ends with his Brotherhood and Hytham’s bureau having some kind of turf war.
That could be our jumping point with Hytham being both annoyed and impressed by Desmond’s informants and recruits while Desmond is just under the misconception that Hytham might be some kind of proto-Assassin (which he is, the problem is Desmond doesn’t know about the whole Hidden Ones history since that was lost in time, hell, Amunet was only called a ‘proto-Assassin’ and isn’t even remembered as a founder by this point).
So, once Desmond is sure that his Assassins would be okay without him for a while and all of their bureaus are safe at the moment, he goes to Ravensthrope to check the competition.
What does he see?
An overworked lonely man who was nice to everyone and who looked at him with wary at first, only to show a friendly side once Desmond told him that Eivor sent him here (a lie) to help out.
Desmond starts helping out in Ravensthorpe, doing errands and hunting. Sometimes, he’d help bring deliveries from nearby settlements. Other times, he’s working as Randvi’s messenger for any settlement conflicts that arises.
In his free time, he checks up on Hytham.
At first, it was because of his Hidden Blade.
He had seen Eivor’s Hidden Blade and knew that she was wearing it wrong but he had assumed Eivor had gotten it from one of the Proto-Assassins or something.
But Hytham…
Hytham was the one who told him about the Hidden Ones.
About Alamut…
And, now that Desmond thought about it, it made sense that the Assassins didn’t just sprung up out of nowhere. They had to have come from somewhere.
A secret organization stationed mostly in Alamut would make sense, Desmond supposed.
Hell, he had been thinking of going to Alamut himself but that was mostly because there were memory seals in the Temple underneath that he could use to leave messages for Altaïr and maybe even the ‘next’ Desmond Miles.
But this…
This changes… well…
Not much, really.
Desmond has no plan to join the Hidden Ones. He has his own Brotherhood and they’re doing well on their own.
It sucked that they didn’t have Hidden Blades but being an Assassin was never about the Hidden Blade.
It was about the Creed.
And it seemed that the Hidden Ones also had the same Creed.
So…
Desmond stayed.
And he tells himself that he’s staying to learn more about the Hidden Ones.
Hytham stresses that he was not a mentor (“Yet.” Desmond adds, making Hytham chuckle and rub the back of his neck) so he cannot recruit Desmond but Desmond just waves it off, tells Hytham that he’s interested in the history and the traditions of the Hidden Ones.
And Hytham indulges him…
They have tea over it.
One time, Hytham showed him how to perform a leap of faith and it took all of Desmond’s willpower not to be a total showoff like Hytham was.
.
.
And then…
Eivor returned from her latest successful alliance and she sees Desmond in Ravensthorpe.
They talk and Desmond tries to tell her that he’s not here to sabotage Hytham’s bureau or whatever malicious plan Eivor believes he’s capable of.
Hell, the whole turf war between the Brotherhood and the Hidden Ones was started by a very gung-ho recruit and it’s not like Hytham had any other people in his corners other than Eivor and some informants.
It would be like pulling the pigtails of a girl peacefully making her sandcastle.
“I know we both have a list of people that should die and that’s not exactly peaceful, Eivor, I’m making a metaphor!”
But Desmond is good at making people do what he wants so Eivor just sighs and agrees not to say anything… for now.
If she even hears a hint of Desmond planning something nefarious against Hytham, she’d kick him out of Ravensthorpe herself.
And Desmond agrees.
.
.
So Eivor began to observe Desmond.
She tells Randvi that she’s doing it because she wants to make sure she did the right thing sending Desmond back to their home without her (and she wants to smack Desmond on the back of the head for making everyone believed she had invited him).
That’s when she noticed it.
What everyone in Ravensthorpe had noticed before.
Desmond and Hytham…
… were definitely acting more like a couple in the middle of courting one another than actual friends.
And that’s when Randvi told her that…
All of Ravensthorpe agreed not to say anything to either of them because watching them be oblivious to one another was more fun.
And Eivor…
… can’t help but agree to that.
#then sigurd and basim returns#dun dun dun#i mean#maybe?#idk#this ended in a nicer place#but if you want conflict#sigurd and basim are both there XD#i just realized#this might be#the first hytham x desmond i've written#which is a travesty#anyway#ask and answer#assassin's creed#desmond miles#teecup writes/has a plot#fic idea: assassin's creed#hytham#what'll we calling this?#hytdes#deshyt#???

A brilliant smile against the sunny afternoon sky brought hope to Eivor's thoughts. The trip had been somber, after rescuing her brother, all had gone to chaos instead of returning to as it should be. She still couldn't get the voice of suspicion out of her head, that she was happy for his imprisonment. A huff of a chuckle left Eivor's lips as she grinned, her husky voice speaking up. "Perhaps? Sounds like you prefer my horse over me," Eivor jest as she lightly turned the reigns of the great horse, and turned toward the entrance as Soma's horse came for.
The mare was beautiful with the elegance of any stead. Brisingr tossed her head happily at the little rub and lightly nudged the other mare who would be joining them. "So much has passed, it will be quite a story to explore," Eivor admitted as she turned Brisingr to follow Nienna and Soma.
"I have long missed your company as well, to be among welcome hearts and friends gives me comfort," Eivor admitted as she stirred Brisingr into a walk as she started the ride out of the settlement and onward toward where Soma would lead. "I had hoped I could stay in Grantebridge for a few nights. There is no need to set aside a guest home for me, I can sleep by the campfires if need be," Eivor said, not wanting to be a burden upon the town or if the guest homes were needed for more immediate guests. She was no stranger to sleeping by fires in furs and bedrolls. However, her voice in saying such words held a somber tone, revealing a hint of sadness about what she was dealing with back in Ravensthrope.
Such was Brisingr’s stature, her shadow swallowed Soma whole. The Lord of Grantebridge smiled, offering the steed a leather-clad hand, palm hollow and empty. Immediately, the velvet plush of that soot-coloured muzzle filled it.
“I will have a carrot for you later.” Her voice was low, conspiratorial. Focus turned back to the figure of Eivor looming over her. Hazel-green eyes brimmed with a gentle, tired sort of mischief. “And something for you too, perhaps.”
From beyond the long house, the jarlskona’s own steed was led to them by a stablehand. A cob mare, liver chestnut in colour, her mane a thick shag of flaxen hair. Soma gave Brisingr’s forehead a parting rub, gloved fingers scritching beneath the weight of her forelock. Then she peeled away, mounting her own horse with purpose and grace.
“Nothing too troublesome. The Great Ouse burst its banks a fortnight ago. I want to see that the waters have receded.” Gathering her reins into one hand, she delivered a brisk pat to Nienná’s neck. “And while we ride, perhaps you will tell me of all I have missed in our time apart.”
There was a pause, and although her hand continued to fuss with her horse’s mane, her gaze was on her friend, watching through tendrils of .umber hair
“You have been missed, Eivor. It does my heart tremendous good to see you again.”

i should have been here. this is my fault. ( randvi to eivor )
Eivor had been bedridden since returning from Norway. Odin was gone, there was such a relief in that; his voice no longer haunted her every thought. Her back leaned against the bed, not having to hide anymore but now could freely be in Randvi's room. Sigurd had left, he needed to find his path now and Eivor knew they had to part ways. They both had grown and changed over the years but at least he bore her no ill will.
"No," Eivor immediately shook her head, not wanting Randvi to feel any guilt. A part of her wanted to get out of bed and start moving, but Valka had demanded bed rest. The wound Basim had given her nearly killed her, but the healers in Norway had managed to save her life. And when they returned to Ravensthrope, everyone in the longship made sure Eivor was comfortable and doing nothing; they did not want to lose their new Jarlskona.
Callous hands reached out to touch Randvi's palm. "This would have happened whether or not you were there. I'm glad you weren't, Basim's mind had become lost and I don't know what happened to him. But he would have hurt you. I'm here now, and we can start a new life and new path in this town,"

A Warm Welcome
Pairing: Ivarr Ragnarsson x Eivor
“Ubba, it is good to see you!” Eivor grasped Ubba’s arm in greeting as he stepped off his longboat. He swept her up in a hug, patting her roughly on the back. Ubba towered over her, knocking the breathe out of Eivor. Laughing, she hugged him back.
Stepping back, he held Eivor in his arms, looking her over.
“You look well, Eivor. I have longed for this reunion for many months. Kingmaking is never easy.” Ubba's smile faltered, lost in the trappings of rule. Shaking it off he looked around at Ravensthrope letting his smile return.
“It has been many years since I’ve seen this old place, you have created something of beauty of the remains we left. I commend you!”
“High praise from you. We are a small clan, but we have worked hard to create this new home. It would honour me to show you what we have built in these few years."
“I would enjoy that, but later. Now, where is my brother?” Ubba called out, looking around for his younger brother to appear.
“Ivarr has kindly set up a training grounds to keep our warriors from...growing too soft this winter.”
"Training grounds? Ivarr seems to have mellowed since coming here!"
Eivor and Ubba heard screams of agony coming from the distance.
"I'm not sure Ivarr can change that much..."
Ubba sighed and shook his head.
“I have brought something for you, to our clan’s friendship.”
Ubba held out a fine arm ring wrought in gold.
Eivor's eyes widened, marveling at its beauty. Putting it on her arm, she held it up to the sun, letting it sparkle and reflect the rays.
“A beautiful gift. You honor me.” Her eyes shone, impressed.
Ubba smiled, his eyes soft. Silence fell between the two until the stomping of boots broke the reverie.
“Clever bastard, still trying to win your heart.” Ivarr said, stopping right next to Eivor.
“It is good to see you well, brother.” Ubba said gladly.
“Yes, yes, you miss my good counsel. Life has never been the same without me."
Ubba stifled a snort.
“It is...different without your...constant support. I heard screams and the sound of iron. Are you training them or torturing them?”
“One will lead to the other.” Ivarr shrugged, picking at his axe’s handle at his belt.
Ubba looked around, spotting the barracks and smiled.
"Why would I sleep in the barracks?" Ivarr gave him an incredulous look, hands resting on his waist.
"Must be a change for you Ivarr, being in the barracks."
Eivor coughed and changed the subject.
“Come, Ubba. I’m sure Sigurd would love to see you. There are many things we can discuss before the feast tonight.”
Eivor gave Ivarr a pointed look which he cried, "What?" As Eivor walked Ubba away and up the hill.
Later when the longhouse was filled with people toasting and feasting, Ubba settled down next to Eivor.
Filled with the evening’s merriment, Ubba and Eivor laughed as they traded stories about everything since they last met.
“It has been good to see you, old friend. I shall not keep our next meeting so far apart from this one.”
“You are always welcome here, Ubba.” Eivor raised her horn toasting him.
"You have given me a welcome so grand even my hardest drengr are asleep on your floor.”
Scanning the hall, Eivor saw several warriors passed out on the floor as others danced drunkenly around them, their mead spilling onto the sleeping warriors.
“Sigurd has offered me his room. I think I shall retire for the night." Resting his arm on her shoulder, he gave her a warm smile and left through the map room.
Ubba awoke in Sigurd’s bed, the soft glow of dawn pulling him from slumber. Leaving his bed, he saw Sigurd and Randvi in the maproom, having just woken up as well.
Nodding, Ubba left them and let his long legs carry him out into the main hall. He smiled as he saw the warriors still asleep on the floor, some still holding empty cups in their hands. Snores and mumbles of deep dreams echoed through the hall. The fire of last night had petered out into a snake of thin smoke.
Winding his way though snoring bodies and shifting arms and legs, he made his way to Eivor’s room. She might already be up, knowing her, and he had many things to discuss.
Walking up to the door frame, no doors made it hard not to see everything in Eivor’s room. Ubba’s eyebrows shot up in surprise and then laughed, rubbing his beard.
Ivarr was curled around Eivor's back, arm around her waist, tucking her in closer to his bare chest.
“Why sleep in the barracks indeed, brother.” Ubba said to himself, leaning against the door frame to the room.
“Come in here, and I will improve your face with my axe, Ubba.” Ivarr sad mildly, eyes still shut.
Ubba held up his hands and backed up with a snort of laughter.
“Tell Eivor, I will be down by the docks with Sigurd.”
Ivarr grunted and waived at him to go away. Turning around Ubba left, as Eivor shifted in her sleep and tucked her head under Ivarr’s chin with a happy sigh.

Oooohhh. Yeeesss to all the additions, especially to Eivor’s children being Aelfred’s other three children. Not only that, by making Eivor a mistress, her very existence is expunged from the records as well.
Suggestion to the Aesir Ending’s secret ending version:
Let’s change the sequence of events. Eivor leaves Ravensthorpe because Aelfred tells her that he will not attack Ravensthorpe if she leaves and they convert to Christianity. Eivor wanted to fight for their freedom but seeing how most of their allies have already been swayed to Aelfred’s side, she reluctantly agrees to protect her people.
In the Sigurd romanced ending, Sigurd had already died a few years back and Eivor leaves Ravensthrope under the care of their oldest child (if it’s a son, he uses a variation of Sigurd’s model with Eivor’s hair color). She says goodbye to everyone with a heavy heart.
In the normal Viking ending, she passes the leadership to someone new. It’s implied to be her child but never confirmed if she did not romance anyone. If she did romance someone, there will be a line of “Take comfort and pride that you are our child. (name of partner) and I believe you will be better than I could ever be.” or something similar.
When she gets to Vinland, Odin has already been whispering to her, telling her how, ultimately, she had failed in protecting her people and how this came to pass because she had rejected him.
If she did romance someone that’s not Sigurd, Odin’s words will be quieted by Eivor’s partner who touches her arm and tells her everything will be alright as long as they are together. Eivor will smile at that and agree.
If she romanced Sigurd, it would be Sigurd’s voice who quiets Odin’s words and Eivor would feel Sigurd’s hand on her back, gently pushing her as he tells her that he will always be by her side, no matter where it may lead them.
If she did not romance anyone, Odin’s words will be cut off by the voices of Eivor’s parents who tells her that they are proud of her and that they know she will be fine. Eivor takes a deep breath and nods at that.
The ending for this one would be more ambiguous and, when the credits start, the song “When Horns Resound” starts to play. Then… when the song finishes, there’s a beat of silence before Odin suddenly speaks in the silence “Oh, Eivor. We have all the time in the world now. How long do you think you can keep pretending you do not hear the truth I speak?” then the credits will continue as if nothing happened.
Better to temper our expectations. This is… Ubisoft we’re talking about.
Oh, yeah, we can make a Villi variation. Either we can set him up as more or less the same path as Randvi who has additional scenes that will decide if Villi follows Eivor to Alamut if it’s the Hidden One ending or an altogether alternate ending that ends with Eivor leaving Ravensthorpe and joining Villi instead,
Dag? Uuuuuhh… Because the Dag romance option was meant to be a joke-romance option? Like, if you did romance Dag, the game would cut you off from all other romances and it still ends up with Dag wanting Eivor’s head anyway. I wasn’t like thinking of some kind of a reconciliation arc for Dag. Although, if we did, wouldn’t that mean he would side with Eivor when it comes to Sigurd’s confrontation scene?
I’m 35% into Valhalla and I need to vent a bit I have such a… Love/hate thing for this game??? I mean. From the “Mythology set” it would be my second-favorite, after Origins
(Which is an undisputed leader for the perfect mix of lovely world, lovely protagonists, and heart wrenching story which - most importantly - ties in to the Assassin lore)
Valhalla gets #2 after Origins for a very simple reason: while I may have issues with Eivor (not the writing; I find them pretty fleshed out, but for the moments when story decides to sod your dialogue choices and defaults to prideful hothead), I did not click with Kassandra, whom I decided to start Odyssey with. A little over 15% in, and I switched to Valhalla. I fully intend to see if Alexious would click better, after I’m done with Valhalla
(and just to clarify: I’m playing the “Let the Animus decide” option for Valhalla, co Eivor is female in main parts of game)
Now. One thing I have to mention: I’m a completionist and I’m easily sidetracked by non-mainline quests. Which means that, while I’m doing main plot quests in power level order and I’m only on Oxenefordscire Arc right now, I have a lever 5 settlement and 200 power for Eivor. Which means, I am at this point invested in the role playing aspect of game
And had a lot of time to tinker Eivor to my preferences Now, the thing I am having issues with: I have, as I mentioned, a love/hate situation for Eivor. I*like* how I got them acting at this point, and am managing to rock, more or less, the Hidden One aesthetic and behaviors now. Which yeah, comes with its own issues since you can’t really join the Brotherhood Point is, my Eivor isn’t going in guns blazing. They also aren’t going to get into your face and will consider other options if it’s beneficial for the situation. Even if it doesn’t exactly go with the “Dane” attitude to the problem Which makes the moments where the game goes more linear a problem Case in point, the start of Oxenefordscire. And the dialogue with Sigurd and Basim hit me right into the face. Because my Eivor isn’t going to toss accusations straight at Basim after seeing them act so odd. Not after having spent time running errands with Haytham and exploring old bureaus. The more likely option they’d entertain would be that someone got to both of them But instead, you have Eivor going all “Odin and Loki” in this situation - without any obvious reason?? I mean it would make sense if you play Eivor as the more aggressive type, but I did not. This kind of defeats the purpose for giving us the option to tune Eivor’s behavior - and in a scenario where, subjectively, Sigurd is the one acting more sus than Basim! (Subjectively because, at this point, one can either see Sigurd as being influenced by sus Basim who has Agenda OR, as Sigurd being unreasonable and Basim appeasing him to avoid confrontation) Anyway. I’m hoping there will be some shifts further on because this has been frustrating me something awful Moreso than Dag being forced as a critic on Eivor while I’m busy running Eivor around and securing us alliances, and making exactly zero claims at being a Jarl (And I did get a bit spoiled beforehand, so with how the entire Dag situation is supposed to play out? I feel like I’ll be feeling all “sod it, I quit, peace out” by the end but without actual ability to do it. Would have been lovely if there was an option to at least have a talk where you seriously consider joining Hidden Ones but alas) …This is going to get frustrating won’t it. RPG but not quite. I’d say they should have kept RPG elements at Origins level - at least when it comes to dialogue / personality. Call me spoiled but my basis for good RPG dialogue-pick comes from Bioware’s Star Wars games / Dragon Age series. And those won’t fit into Assassin’s Creed, unless we are talking Alternate Universe / Modern Time line game
#dag would be sooooo smug#if i was playing this i would want an option to bitchslap dag to next year#Assassin's Creed Valhalla: the dating simulator#Assassin's Creed: Valhalla#Assasin's Creed#eivor varinsdóttir
