The famous song may claim the Internet is for Corn (or something like that; I might have had a head cold when I listened to the Avenue Q soundtrack), but I think the Internet is also for funny animal videos. I’m sometimes asked (when I feel the overwhelming urge to talk to myself) what my all-time favourite animal video is.

With all due respect to the many cute cat videos I’ve seen over the years, and the cute puppy videos, and of course that argumentative ibex who reminded me of an interview I once conducted with a civic official, the trophy belongs to this raven who, 9 years ago, was introduced to the world in a Youtube video called Ravenmania.

If you have a raven who can talk, there is really only one word you need to teach it. But they goofed with this guy and as a result he doesn’t just say “Nevermore,” because these birds are living recording machines. As a result, he recites “Say nevermore” - so he’s actually giving us the instructions! And, as a reward, he ends up quoting a catchphrase associated with either Bert from Sesame Street or Fozzie Bear from the Muppets, take your pick (same voice actor anyway!).

Not even the unfortunate actions of a certain other raven against Clara Oswald  can stop me from getting a laugh out of this when I feel low. (Though the infamous outtake from that episode is still funny too!)
