I love rats, and I like unusual magic cards. So, it only makes sense to illustrate a repeating pattern of endless rats.

Some random idea for the afterstory- is in context inspired by a quote Locke will say much later in the story.

''I'm sure if you could give a rat a good scrub, it would look as pristine as any other beloved animal.. I was a rat once, and now people look at me as if I've never been one. They don't even see the difference.'' Something among the lines of this, its a work in progress because of the themes in his backstory having to do with objectification and dehumanization.

So Locke, as Loki Wren- adopts a rat- and then a few more. And then domesticizes them LMAO imagine this pristine cute ass rat on his shoulder while Gale is trying to convince Tara that Loki did not bring her dinner, that rat is a friend. WE DON'T EAT FRIENDS.

First of= Rats didn't spread the plague, they had fleas on them, AND THE FLEAS HAD THE PLAGUE

So the rats were only carriers.

Second of= If anything, rats are very clean animals, they groom themselves all the time

(Btw, if you see one on the street it's still a wild animal and you shouldn't approach it as much as a racoon or a bear or geese. But geese are just nature's assholes.)

So ye, if you know someone with pet rats, who were bred, then go ahead and pet it with consent!
